edition so i appreciate you both being here all right so we will start with our weekly wares and pickups i guess it's still me going first it so it's actually been almost three weeks i think since we last recorded a podcast i know we've had episodes come out but we recorded podcasts for i think we recorded like a month's worth of podcasts in maybe about a week and a half or two weeks so where's it going to be long bear with us or bear with me at least okay so warm i on cloud

fives those are still going but will need to be replaced very very soon.

Air max one atmos lebron eight cool gray air max 90 mars landing lebron 12 terracotta warriors, katie for the away colorway so just kind of like a black blue and orange i don't know if there's an official name for that but i think away the ways makes sense for that it's the way air max one tokyo maze i think we had some rain at some point so those were nice for that air max 90 duck camo the 2.0 version will perfect that you're on tonight kobe six all-stars the original pair.

Kali, how much did I get those from for you? Was it $45? Did you get it on discount? Because they went down to, I believe, $80 a pair. There were $100 or $80. And then if you got it on a $50 with a discount, it would have been about $40. It was one of the last 10 pairs in the company. So I got them first. Then it would have got 20% off. So it could have been like $60 probably. Maybe. I think I felt like it. It could have been $40. I just don't remember exactly.

I just know I had, originally I had six or seven pairs sitting in the back and then I, the first pair I bought, I still bought for a hundred and then I put online just for like 200 and it sold within five minutes. And then I realized, oh shit, I got something good here. I should look at other shoes at the store because one of my friends, another customer was like reselling certain shoes from the store. Like Onos Asics, Onosuka Tiger, he was selling it to Asia and stuff.

So I was like, let me get my hand at this. and that's what blew up my liquidation business or reselling business from the outlet at Dixie. Good price. It was cheap. I feel like it was the last pair we had in the company at the time. I feel like it was $45 or $50, but I could be wrong. What else did I wear? Air Jordan 1 Low Bleach Coral. It's my mom's birthday, so I wore those out to dinner. LeBron 8 Low Miami Knights. It's been a while since I brought that pair out.

LeBron 12 low. I've got an all red pair. I don't know if there's a name for it, but all red, gray smooth. Air Max 1, Kabatamushi. Callie, you might remember these. I gotta see that one. Oh, that one. I remember those. Yeah, so it's outlet pair when they were up here. It was like 60 bucks or something like that. Yeah. Ridiculously cheap. So nice pair I wear once in a while. What else we've got? Nike Free Run 3. Oh, I got these from you. It's an all-gray pair, blue midsole, and Volt check.

Those things are still holding up. They're still good. No issues. I used to love the free runs. I've been putting them on to just go to the gym. Nothing serious for my workout, but they're really good. Still super comfortable. And Canada Day was recently. So I wore the all red Barachis for Canada Day In terms of pickups I do actually have Something not for me Picked up my fiance another pair of New Balances These are called.

There's no name On the box Picked up a New Balance running shoe I had a discount code for a sports check which is like Well it's like our Dick's Sporting Goods up here So I got these for 75 bucks, It's off from Runner It's a good white shoe Sorry? It's a good white shoe. Yeah. I noticed on her other pair that she's kind of beaten into the ground. The shoe's pronating a lot. So the outside of her foot was kind of like that's where the wear was. Yeah. We have like a little some support for that.

So hoping these do better than the last pair we got her. So nothing too much for me this week. But a long list of wears because it's been almost three weeks.

And that was my week okay let's start with will let's go with will what what have you been rocking this weekend uh what was your last pickup so i haven't posted like my wares but i've been posting like my pickups the last couple days i've rocked the 2017 pair of royal foams and then yesterday i broke out the 2007 anthracite foams those are those are starting to crack now i'm on the suede so So I'm going to need to go back,

circle back, and get that 2024 pair because I got rid of that one just to recoup up for other pairs. But I can easily find those again. What else did I wear? I've been wearing my Infinity Run 4s just for walking in. Those have been a really comfortable shoe for me, in my foot, just to go out... Two, three miles and things like that. What else? Jesus. We were in Wildwood last week. Oh, well, no. This past week we ended. So I wore the Kobe 6 All-Star 2.0. That's like the

perfect shoe. Matches everything. And then I wore an Air Max DN, the black and white pair. And then I wore my Yeezy slides that I have.

That's the only pair of Yeezys in my collection. And then we had graduation last week I wore the Year of the Snake University Red I wore the All-Star 2.0 again And then I did a couple random things that I didn't even know It was a Hirachi 2K4 USA pair, the LA All-Star one Which I didn't even know was coming back out again But I don't know if I want to spend $210 on those again When I got the 2015 pair for like $70 From like shoe palace So it'll be interesting to see How those go.

Yeah is it going to be like Is it going to have tech in it is it going to be Comfortable is it going to feel like, Because I remember when I worked In the Nike outlet they released a bunch Of the Hirachis and They were so uncomfortable they went down to like, 31 bucks 31.97 and still I couldn't do it They all hit the outlets We got the whole Olympic pack in like 2012 or whatever it was like 2010 to 2014 was just, every hirachi was there it wasn't the cheapest shoe but it still was

cheaper than original price yeah in terms of pickups i've had i've been kind of going through like taking pictures of things i got the la dodgers recently i got the caitlin clarks those i had to pay resale for for but i then i got the the equals nate robinson so i did both of those pairs i'll show you what they i got the the 360 i don't know what from this one is this is the 360 these are insane love these crazy crazy and like

i don't know if you guys have bought this the anything from them but they're pretty affordable like these were i think 160 in us and then i got the the packaging is awesome on this i'm really impressed with what they did with nate robinson and then i got the. I got the 247 pair.

So That's a couple of my pickups And then what else did I get Oh I got the Kobe yellow Air Force One Trying to just think Think back Just trying to look at boxes, But those are like most recent Like that are off the top of my head But I'm really happy With the Equals stuff, It shipped in no time It came to me within like five days And they shipped from China that's pretty that's where they're based out of so there was no tariffs or

anything on it like it just came 300 flat and then i didn't have to pay anything else so and the boxes they did something they sent out an email to all customers like if your box was damaged and my mind wasn't that they would mail you a new box, yeah that's wow that is impressive yeah with no charge no charge they would have mailed you a new box so my boxes were fine they did a pretty good job packaging them and they actually during the school year they actually they sent me

a pair of their 247 model which is this one and i i did like a whole post and they they basically seated me a pair so that's like my first seated pair ever but Shout out to Equals And they're doing some good stuff there Especially with the collab with Nate Robinson, And their shoes are supposed to be Really really good Yeah. And I know it's been a while since you've been on We just started to get out of rainy season Because we were out of it For about a week And then a typhoon rolled through Asia again so it was constant rain I played in a soccer tournament and just got soaked but yeah shoes I've been wearing yesterday I wore the Jordan 4 bread reimagined, I've worn the Jordan 5 black metallic reimagined what else have I been wearing

oh Air Force 1 linens I've been wearing my creamy, Lumero 5's the most probably because that's my beater pair and if it's going to rain then I don't care if it gets wet almost beat that pair to the ground and need to get another pair, other than that though that's for the past few months since i've been on last that's pretty much been it because i don't want to bring out anything nice suede or like even my air matches like i should be wearing all my tms right now but uh

i don't know whether it just was not optimal but should be optimal as of now until uh december so i hope to get a lot more pairs out in the next few months and uh pickups okay yeah you know what pickups the last thing i picked up was the air force one linens i'm pretty sure i mentioned that or maybe i didn't pick it up on the podcast um but.

There's been i don't know this year there's been a lot of good shoes are coming out with a lot of stuff but there hasn't been anything where i'm like damn i need it i need it i need it like I find this year to be one of the most least lackluster years in sneakers for a while, which is going to be a real hot take, because I know a lot of the stuff they've been retro-ringing coming out, everyone's like, I need it, I need it.

But even if you talk about shoe of the year and stuff already halfway through the year, like, Nothing is like, wow, that's such an amazing pair. It's two of the year. Well, people already mentioned all the brick by bricks, but like, okay, not for me. Like, so I don't know. It's, it's, it's interesting, but there are two pairs. One pair mainly that I'm looking to get in the next few months. And that's the terror squad, the white and the red air force ones.

I hope those release here and maybe the Aqua eights, but I don't know. I kind of got to see them in hand first, or maybe I'll just win them on the raffle i don't like them send them back i would have probably went for the jordan 14 ferraris but they never released over here weird that they didn't get released over there but there's a couple pairs that's like we're like shattered backboards for us release this let's let me check.

Release shattered backboards release on the 11th so next friday it's next week here yeah oh it's next week there also i thought it was uh later on the weaker board so yeah but there's been things that come out like way sooner here and then but then there's been things that like just never dropped like i had to buy my the ogtns the blue colorway i had to buy from stock x i mean i still got them for cheaper than retail because they sat everywhere but they never released

here the sun colorway released here but the the blue ones didn't so i don't know it's a little weird sometimes for the releases over here very strange like you think that would have released over there like some of that stuff too like you think would just be everywhere but, and i thought it was going to be like the all of nines because all of nines never came on the sneakers app i had to go to the jordan store and ask about it and

i was just so lucky the day i went in was the day they released at the jordan's one of the jordan stores here so i went to the jordan store and asked like the employees about the 14 they're like oh coming out next week and i'm like no you got the wrong shoe so i showed them the ferrari 14 picture and like oh i don't know the, So I'm like, okay, yeah, it never released over here. Interesting. Yeah, I think you picked up the linens the last time we were on

because that was the leather pair you got, not the new one. Yeah, I got the leather pair, yeah, yeah. I thought I already mentioned on a previous pad. Yeah, so it's been good. I haven't spent money on my shoes for a while now. Those linens are nice. They're really nice. You're spending on the right pairs. Yeah, exactly.

There's a ton coming out this year, too. like you really have to be selective with what you pick up right like you can't you just can't grab everything with all the stuff that's coming out right it's the same thing there's a bunch of stuff that's come out that i might have gone after in previous years but it's like.

Ah like i just don't need it too much yeah it's too much yeah a little overload yeah like if this had been in 2022 or 2021 even it would have been a different story i think it's the same for most people right just the time that the world was in and where sneakers was but it's like there's a ton coming out like i mean the fact that the great fives are sitting is pretty crazy to me right but that's also just where we are in sneakers right people really know what the tie for

the great five is is and why that's popular i don't know but yeah yeah well yeah before 2020 i would have grabbed everything but yeah now i'm just like maybe i think because there's so much it's kind of system overload i'm just okay i don't want that much anymore it's it's a lot it's a lot like even even like i've skipped like things where i would have bought in the past like they have the the chicago up tempos still on nike.com but they're 170 dollars i like i'll i probably won't

get it unless it's like dirt cheap like 70 bucks or less i don't i don't need it i already have my pair from I think it was like 2015 and I don't wear it I only wear it during football season when the Falcons are playing. Yeah, it's fair. And like, I think there's a bunch of us that are in the same boat where it's like, we're just waiting for things to go on sale, right? Like, and it's just, it's not going on sale as quickly as we think it's going to.

Yeah. Then when it goes on sale, it's just kind of decision time looking and sale comes up and you're just like, all right, I was waiting for this, but should I? Is this enough of a sale? Yeah. Like I just did that recently with a pair of, uh, I don't know, not even for Merrill's, but you know, we talked about Merrill's, you know, there's a Merrill that's, uh, that was uh it's lion's colors it's that photo blue the photo the latest photo blue one.

And it's you know for me it just says lion so i was gonna get it was on momentum and it dropped to like they had a extra it dropped in like 130 something but then they had a sale recently actually 20 off so it dropped to like 105 something like that it would have been 133 with shipping so i was like that's a good price a very good price should i just do it and get it done and get it out of my head you know what i mean because it's kind of just dangling up there

but then i was just eventually i was i held off so long that it it sold out anyway so it made a decision made a decision for me i waited a couple days yeah it's a good price but is it a good enough price yeah that's kind of my thing too is i want to try like a vermero but again like i'm in the same boat where i'm like i don't actually want to like spend the money that like i just haven't found a good sale to to actually put like purchase right yeah oh dope nice week holly,

and sean what have you been rocking in the last week and what was your last pickup. Got a good number of pickups. So I've been rocking. So if you remember, I don't know if you remember for Air Max Month, I was going back and forth with my man Jeff. So what happens with me is this time of year comes around and I kind of wait until the kind of shitty weather, like whether it's raining on and off.

And it's just always, when you know it's going to be nice and dry, I know it's going to be good for a good stretch of time, so I call that, it doesn't matter where it lands, I call it a Hirachi season. So that's when I break out my Hirachi runs. So in 2020, I guess it was 2022, was it when they did the recraft of the Hirachis? Was it 21 or 22? Somewhere around that range. 22. That could be long. I bought all the OGs. I think I missed just one of them.

A while later on sale so i'm not gonna run down all those but i'm basically wearing those i wore so i guess it's the uh there's the michigan pair of the grapes the. Neon magenta there's a aqua magenta and a couple other ones so i'm rocking those i'm rocking i've been trying to get back. Not hooping yet, but just get back in the gym and get my body moving and get some shots. I've got some exercise. So I bought some A1s a while ago, and they've just been sitting in the box.

I haven't been using them. So I wanted to use them for ball. So I broke those out. I got two during that time. Two of those pickups. Two of the latest pickups. I got two more lows because they dropped under 100.

I got one at Sport Check. The white bear. The white low at Sport Check because it went down to, 90 I think oh nice and then the arctic what's it arctic, arctic something it's it really feels like a timberwolves color it's almost like it's almost like iridescent but blue green it's got the lime green laces so those are the two I picked up and then I have two other ones I got four pairs of those things Canada Day I rocked I think it fell on a Tuesday right so yeah

one cent one side Tuesday, so it was perfect. I rocked the University Red MX21. One of my favorite not OG colorways that I swapped out the laces for a little like this. A couple 180s. That's it for what I was wearing. A little extra because I was in the gym as well. Swap out for daytime shoes. But pickups. Pickups, I've been a little wild with pickups. I've been new necessarily, a couple new things, but I've been, so again, for Air Max month, I did all 95s, so I did 30 days of 95s.

So, you know, 95s are one of my favorite silhouettes, so I've been looking for, 95s, not just grabbing any 95 I can, but, you know, particular ones that I've been trying to pick up. So, I got a little show and tell here, I know the listeners can't see it, but I'll show you guys. So the first one, I went on, I'll try to make this too long, Went on Poshmark and found a pair of the Atmos.

Solar red i guess it's like a solar red it's more of a yeah i don't i've actually never seen in person i paid so it's a it's a pre-owned pair but i paid 80 canadian 13 that person was trying to sell it for like 140 but i could see by the pics that they were they were used i would have to clean them up which i did so so yeah i got them for 80 this is no particular order one new pair I got the, Amamanier hand wash cold so a really nice pair,

I think this is the best one out of the three to me this is the best one out of the three I got the first one I'm not going to bother with the third one third one's not bad, it's not bad it's one of those ones if it does go on if I find it on sale or you know it just drops really low in price and I'm able to pick it up for a really cheap price I might pick it up but I'm not going to go out of my way to get them though this one another 95 shout out to Seth Sells who you guys

just had on recently this is the Alien 95, here that is it's 2019 2020 because it's the end of 19 you wear those recently? I haven't worn these yet no soon my friend I'm ready for the hot I'm ready for the hot.

Yeah really two more quick ones for one, Picked up the psychic blue Is that like a powder blue in person Or is it like kind of like A university blue It's closer I would say closer to powder blue Okay And it's matted like the oarwood pair Okay I need that pair the oarwood pair Yeah so it's matted like that So it makes it almost like pastel Okay So it's not that bright No not at all I was going to say, it almost looks white on the screen, which I know is just the camera's not.

It's just the camera's not. Yeah, there's no way for me to really get it. But it is pretty matte. You can see there's hardly any shine to it. So it does make it look a little more pastel. And last is a show to a man, Marquis, in Japan for Team Penny. So he has been looking for a pair of a pair he doesn't have. He's got plenty. He's just like me, but he's got more than me. But one pair he didn't have was that total orange pair, the black pair.

Black with the white wing and the orange swoosh. It's got the, I guess it's kind of a jeweled swoosh. It's not a, it's not, no, it's not jeweled. It's not translucent. It's like a solid, shoddy swoosh, the total orange one. You guys, I don't know why I didn't pull that out. But anyway, so he, looking for a pair. So I have, I ended up buying three of those. Again, it's one of my favorites. So I have three of those. So I actually told him that I just send him one.

Just where he's worked out the shipping, I would send him one.

The shipping to Japan is insane. but he so he he mentioned that because he's from hawaii or lived in hawaii for a very long time, so he mentioned that i could send it to his parents there because for when hey whenever you visit i can send it there so i said cool we'll do that so i just sent it to him i paid it you know i wasn't didn't worry about the shipping just send it to him just to get him just to get him a pair of when i need the three right

so i just sent him one just get that to him and he said you know what let me do something let me do something for you I'm like but he insisted so he had this pair which I've been looking for for a long time.

Wow which is the Japan Heritage 95, so this is it's good it's I've never seen that one no they're based on magazines so they used to pack their magazines yeah and they used to pack them and put these straps so that's what the strap is all about wow um but yeah so it's got all the All those nice details on it. It's a really nice pair. It's pretty crazy. You have to post all those details when you... Yeah. And this is almost like plastic. Okay. It's all clear plastic.

It's almost like plastic wrap. They really went off on these. It's impossible to find my size in good condition. I found a couple that are pretty beat up. But he just... So we just did a trade. The international trade. The international trade can work. so I'm assuming that must have been in Japan and exclusive right, I think initially it was. It was an Asia exclusive. But I think it ended up here at some point because there's people out there. But anyway, so we did a trade. We did a trade.

I do have one more. Oh, sure. Let's see. Come on. Yeah, let's see it. Come on. I just showed you a couple. So this is one that I got, but I actually just reordered it. I just sent these back. I had to wait it out to restock the sizes.

Which they did so luckily i just heard it has actually just been shipped so this is another i don't know if you guys can recognize the mandarin, no fire wish that's good tell me that's the mandarin no okay so this is that korean shop i don't know anything about the shop i know it's i know it's a korean oh okay army colored yeah so it has, first I wasn't sure about these. Actually, you know what? I'll do the full-on watch it and show you guys.

It's got this paper, the foil paper, the works out of the catalogs. So I wasn't sure about these when I saw them online, because you can't really get a good feel for them, because online, what happens is that snow sheet is... Yeah. So all this, these lines are reflective, obviously you can see that it's like 3M and it's got that swoosh but online like on the product pics the swoosh which I can't even see in the camera I don't know how well you guys can see the swoosh I can see it.

But on the product pics that swoosh is so prominent it kind of ruins it for you so you kind of see that and you're like I'm not so sure about the design but it's completely flat. It's got a texture to it but it's completely flat. You can see it there. You can't even tell. It's actually completely flat and it only has a texture to it and it doesn't stand out at all. And that's a black midsole, right? Yeah. Black midsole, the bubble's blacked out.

The bubble's blacked out inside. It's got the laces. Yeah, it's got the thin flat laces. It's funny, when you were showing that, Sean, I didn't even see the swoosh on the side until just at the end there. It's super subtle. You don't see it at all. It has to be in the right light. But again, if you guys check out the product pics, I guess they want to show that DTS. So it's right there. See how hard that looks? Nothing like that.

Nothing like that. So that's what threw me off when I first saw it. Those came from where? Korea? It's a Korean brand. It's a Korean brand, yeah. Okay. I got them on sneakers on Nike. It's a black pair too, but I think that was exclusive to the, either in Asia or to that shop or whatever, but this is probably to the shop or Korea because it wasn't available here in China. Yeah, it wasn't. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, that makes sense. That's it that's it.

Building up the building up the 95 collection a little more a lot more you got to be up to like 75 pairs of 95s probably.

My one can't go it hey hey we're not judging we're not judging, it's going to be out of hand by the time we get to March which yo that's crazy you could just you could just do a whole air max month with 95s you don't you don't you don't need to do everything you just i love the 95 but like there's there's pairs that i won't buy like just because i don't like them or whatever like i have four pairs of neon 95s and that that's like the shoe that's like my go-to for a 95 but like

you have pairs like i never saw before or i saw them and i was like it's not worth it yeah you didn't get the mandarin did you i have no none of the new big bubble ogs impossible impossible to get yeah and i and i refuse to pay like resale for any of those no way i can't let you not even show the neons like i could i have I still have my... I guess my neon's like a... The 2020? No, mine's 2013. Oh, you went back that far. Yeah. I didn't get the one after that. You didn't get the 2015?

No, I skipped the 15. Okay. Or maybe... Unless that's the 15. No, you probably got the 2015. Yeah, maybe it's... The time before that, it was 2012. And that was like a neon yellow. That's what I was thinking. That's what I was thinking. So yeah, it wasn't the 2015. It's 2015. The reason I got those on... That's a whole other story, but I got those at... I was living in Vancouver still. I got those at Marshall's in Vancouver. I bought a stack of 95s and I bought...

Actually, I kept a 10 and a 10 and a half for myself. There were no 11s. I kept a 10 and a half for myself. And then a couple others I just put up on eBay. And yeah, so that's the only one I've had since then. 2020, again, was impossible. I think these new ones are even worse. I'm not paying these prices for it. I'd rather pick up. There's so many good GR95s that people just kind of ignore.

And I'm good just kidding. There's actually another one there's a couple other ones the recent GRs that I got. Big Bubble ones and they're the Big Bubble's great. They're good pairs but I'm not worried about the OGs. I kind of gave up on the OGs, the Mandarin and the Pink Foam and there's going to be a crystal blue supposed to come out again or the blue zips I'm not even going to try I don't think.

Well at the very least the Neon is supposed to release again next year in much bigger numbers right? Yeah. supposedly yeah we will see yeah I, the Neons was my second pair of 95s and I flipped into a raffle win so I haven't decided what I'm going to do with them yet I have the Air Max 95 Torontos which I like but I just haven't decided if I want to keep the Neons yet so I'm, I'm waiting because that price tag on them is enticing for something that I was kind of passively trying to get, you know?

Yeah. Yeah, it's worth a train for you then. Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking too. Anyways, good week, Sean. That was lots of nice pickups and wares there. We covered Rich's basis there. All right. Sean, what I was going to say about 95 is there was the Persians, the black and Persians, there's a sale on corporate right now.

And I think I didn't do it. It was like $128 for the Persians They're like $180 retail I might still do it before the end of the night If they still have my size But I like that pair Just because of the purple and stuff like that, Yeah I picked those up Oh you did pick those up There was a Foot Locker sale They're back up to regular price now But there was a sale, It wasn't even one of those percentage sales They just marked it down for like a week. And I got them for 180 Canadian.

And then I had some flex points too. So I had to. Yeah. They probably marked it down and they sold way more than they expected to sell. And they remarked it up. It works for me. Doesn't matter. I'll take on.

So basically everything, a lot of things now, a lot of brands now are driven by collabs, whether it's through celebrities, athletes, whatever it is. And it's not necessarily signature sneakers, but it's almost like celebrity collabs or artist collabs are signatures or PEs now. They're new signatures at PEs now, right? Because real signatures in PEs, as far as basketball goes or whatever sports

they're in, they don't sell. And people aren't looking for them, right? Who was hunting down Jason Tatum's ugly-ass jeans, right? So what if collabs didn't exist? So I guess who do you think would come out on top as far as brands go? If you think about, you can factor in silhouettes, you can factor in. I guess you can almost keep athletes in there because there would still be signature sneakers or PEs, right?

But if collabs didn't exist and they weren't, if collabs weren't, I think, driving brands right now. Just no secondary branding collabs. Yeah. So who would come out on top? Nike. fours earlier being like you know quote unquote the shoe of the year right but that would be i said quote unquote but like you know that as an example that wouldn't exist right you know what else has jordan put out this year that was really good, right? Yeah, but... You're looking at it in the social media, old word we used to say, hype beast, trend follower type of way. That's what they're trying to drive.

But if you take it back to the early 2000s, say they just released a Jordan once a month or once every two months. All they had to do, those Jordans would still sell out. So even before, everyone was like collab, collab, collab, which is really just a blown up thing since what, 2017, 18, when everyone jumped on collabs. People were going for just models.

Right that wasn't the thing it's now that they produce you know six seven no retros a month that and collabs on top people want something different so they go for collabs but all they'd have to do is change up what they're releasing and it would you know it would be the way it is but like you don't hear everyone going oh crazy adidas this and like what blew up the a6 trends was the collabs to begin with you know and

social media on top of that and it's comfortable shoes so people jump on it afterwards. Same thing with the new balance. They get all trended because of collabs and stuff like this. But if you didn't have those collabs to start, you might still just be back. That was part of my thinking. So without the collabs, you're talking about, in general terms, you're talking about the A6 either just staying where it was and not rising or just completely falling off.

New Balance might plateau it might fall off and meanwhile Nike's still going, whether it's crazy rise or whether it's just steadily rising, Nike just keeps going up, the other ones just plateau or go down, right?

Whether it's A6 New Balance, Sock me. Yeah, and my kind of thinking is that that might be true. But if we think about the Nike pairs that have done really well in the last little bit, most of those ones that did really well or had some kind of hype or drive behind them felt like there was some artist or collaborator push on them, right? You know, we talked about... The Metallic Fibes? That's probably the one exception this year. That and the Bread 85s. Blue Game 12s?

Like but everything else is done like has been relatively easy to get so like i think of the most recent example is the great fives right those came out in what 2015 last 20 no 2012. 2013 those ugly those terrible 2013 fives but think about what the hype was behind them when the last time they came out right like i remember 12 years ago when those came out like everyone wanted them now they're sitting and there's a lot of stuff that follows that trend too

not everything like there is stuff that will sell out but like there's a lot of stuff that's just not moving the way it used to i was personally taken back when i went to florida last year in november at how many people were walking around disney world just yeah disney world wearing on shoes and like i'm i'm personally like I love their shoes but I was really taken back by how many people were wearing that brand like I felt like that was what I saw most over everything else.

I didn't see too much like on this year in my school. Like it was just like last year I did. Like the principals were wearing them. Like teachers were wearing them this year. Not as much. It was just more, it was, it was just random stuff like dunks. Like I have a coworker that she loves dunks and Jordan one lows. And I was like, Oh, that's what we're wearing and everything like that. So like she was wearing those, like some people wore like running shoes and things like that.

And some people were like just sandals. It was not on the, on the on cloud. Like I think Don cloud bowl burst for teachers. It was weird. Cause I wanted a pair at one point and then like, I stopped seeing them. Yeah. And then randomly I saw somebody, I saw a woman wearing them in a grocery store and I was like, oh, I haven't seen those in a while. Like it was just a black pair and stuff like that. But I kind of think the same thing is true of Hoka as well.

Yes yeah i saw those a little bit more but hoka hoka i thought about like getting a pair for myself just to try it out but i'd have to go to like a running store to get fitted and whatnot and i don't want to like delve into another sneaker brand there's too many as it is right just too many as it is but like i think i think nike's catalog is so deep like that they don't need a collab in order to keep.

Profiting off their shoes. Everything's going to sell for Nike as opposed to, let's say, an A6, where... Feel like a6 is like bottoming out a little bit like you i don't know it's kind of like plateaued a little bit and then kind of like then a collab hits or a new balance like they're dependent on collabs to move their shoes a little bit more i think just because they're not as popular i'd say i don't have a new balance in my entire entire collection i don't think i ever will.

I think I have one left which one is that I have just the Joe Fresh goods okay yeah, what was that I can't remember the name specifically because it was art, or something so it was I got the blue the blue pair okay I still have those I don't let them go I don't know why I think it's because I have like three hats to match so I, I kind of been holding on to them but it's the only the only New Balance I have left. I actually have one that's like a 993. That's just kind of an ulti-door.

I used to... I was heavy on 2002 R's when they first dropped. Yeah. They just been in on the collection. I had a couple back in the day but I just sold them. Yeah. I never do a one. Yeah. My personal opinion is I think Nike would still rule Because, you know, even though, yes I'm arguing the other side of it So we can at least talk about it, but i do think nike would put more money into like as an example we talked about the neon 95s like if there were no collabs so you know if you didn't have like what did they do they had a cortese collab and they had on when you reduce 95s this year right like if you didn't have those coming out i feel like they would have

just pushed that extra money and pairs into the neon 95 right. And the same could be said about, you know, an infrared or an anniversary red, silver bullets, whatever, like OG pair. You would have more money pushed into that kind of stuff rather than something that's a collab. So I do think Nike probably would find a way to rise to the top because their breadth of portfolio is bigger, I think, with some of those pairs.

Having said that, there is sometimes trends that pop out of nowhere that don't have a collab, right? So on, I think they did a collab with Kith recently, but previous to that, I don't think they've really done anything collab wise. Hoka kind of in a similar boat as well. And like, you can't forget that sometimes like what becomes a trend is not necessarily a Nike shoe. So, you know, I think Kali, you mentioned the, uh, the Sambas, right?

Like that's a huge market that we don't even think about as sneaker heads, right? It's, you know, you, you go out and you see people wearing Sambas who aren't into sneakers at all, but they just like that's the fashionable thing to wear now, right? Even Salomon. I don't think Salomon even enters the space, the fashion side of things. I mean, it does, but it's not your generic... I'm into Salomon. It's the XT6 and stuff like that. But it's a different niche, yeah.

The gore poor niche the hiking niche, the outdoorsy niche it works perfectly here if you're in Vancouver also it's huge right but like Toronto there's also a niche for it too a lot of the Asian guys I know are all into Solomon but the average guy that's watching NBA and buying Jordans is not really going to be into Solomon.

So does it at least give you the option now that young stars coming into the league, John Morant's you know that are high flyers Donovan Mitchell's and He did he did do the dunk contest but like That a John Morant is going to come into the league And be like I want to have a signature shoe With Nike I want to I want to participate in this and I want To show out well you Got the you got the new players Like Ace Bailey, He probably would Do that even though He hates the Jazz.

Which I won't even get into Because we'll be here all night about that topic But I could see like Cooper Flag Maybe they give him like his own He's signed with New Balance But would he come out If it guaranteed him like a $200 shoe And Cooper Flag is probably going to be a staple, In all of America If he pans out Like he's a dookie so i i can't i can't support him yep yeah yeah no no dookie's here. But I think what that would do and I agree with like, would at least push some of those top tier athletes. So as an example, does Cooper flag have a shoe plan with new balance? I want to say the answer to that is, you know, probably not right now. Probably will in the next, in the next year or two. Yes. But for some, like in Cooper flags, the number one, but like Ace Bailey is an example, right? I don't think a shoe is in the pipeline for him necessarily in the next three to five years.

But if you come out and yeah, but if you come out and win the slam dunk contest okay now now they have to start thinking about that right and from the NBA's perspective that also then gives them the opportunity to get bigger stars in because again John Moran, I'm blanking on some other Nike athletes or any other we got I wouldn't want to see a Halliburton.

I wouldn't support the man anymore I think I would I would be very cautious about sorry I don't want to say cautious I think I would be very skeptical about buying Jordans I don't know that I would offload everything because there's a lot here but yeah I could definitely I would definitely be condensing my collection significantly almost down to nothing in that case.

So I still wear my Yeezys. Even as much people, it's not trendy anymore or anything. It's a comfortable shoe, especially the Wave Runners are iconic. I'm not going to let a little legal situation change me from wearing my beloved Jordans. Look at me at whatever way you want. They're a retro shoe. They remind me of the 90s. Players compete to design Lace and market a shoe In 24 hours Winners get a real drop. There was a sneaker skill challenge at All-Star Weekend. Not like necessarily like a custom, but they actually have to design something that can be marketed to the masses, and then whoever wins that gets the real drop, and I would say they would get that released to the masses. Now that is very interesting. I think that's a great idea. That's a really great idea. That is fantastic.

Clearly the end like would you buy the shoe depending on like like let's let's say let's say adidas new balance reebok nike jordan brand all got together and they told them or even like some even some random brand like oh god anta got in the mix yeah like and they say hey you're designing our there's a this is the sneaker skill challenge you come up with the idea You the laces All the tech and this is what you have Available to you do your thing You got 24 hours and then,

Winner gets chosen By the judges there And so on and so forth online Like a voting contest And things like that like are you buying the shoe And things like that I think that I think it's a great idea Is it individual, Or are they in like teams I think individual Okay. I'm thinking, I don't know if Trevor or Colley remember, there was, I have a couple of them actually. There was that thing with the Raptors. I'm sure they've done it across other sports in some form or other.

But for the Raptors, they did these hats, these snapbacks. And they did, it was called, you know, player, player.

Created or something like that i have to check the box again oh yes yes yes they did those they had they had in teams and they showed it on like open open what's the show called open court open gym open gym they show on there they show them they had teams like teams of like two or three of the of the of the raptors so you know the first one was like first drop was like patrick patterson.

It was Patrick Patterson's team, but it was him and, like, you know, I can't remember who was on the team at that time. But then DeMar DeRozan had a team, Lowry had a team, and they all collabed together. There's, like, three of them, three per team, and they all collabed to create a hat to be released. And it was, you know, it went to charity or something, whatever proceeds.

But all the hats came out for each team. So it was less of a competition, but more of a collaboration to create something to sell still. So that's why I was wondering if it would be teams or individuals. But these are individuals to get their own signature to be released the following. Yep. All right. Would you go for it? I think that's a great idea.

Like and i i almost kind of want to tie that back where it could be their all-star shoe too depending on what they're designing so just thinking of some all-stars off the top of your head right most of them have a signature shoe right go with nike you know ja morant yannis lebron katie kairi that's kairi who else am i missing kawaii like they all have some type of signature shoe right yep it would be kind of a cool thing to have them do that as an all-star release because they're again

we talked about the dunk contest being a a forgotten thing right the all-star signature sneakers have been severely lacking in the last few years so that would be a really cool way to kind of bring some attention back to um to those collections so i think that's idea. I think that's a really cool idea. You can also do it like to have non-all-stars, not like people that weren't voted in creating the sneakers to get their not only get their sneakers, but guarantee them a spot for next year. Yeah.

Guarantee them at least get on the bench, get on the team for the next season, the following season. And I kind of think of like DeMar DeRozan when he was on the Raptors had obviously they were Kobe P, so they were like still like a popular shoe but like even for us as rafters fans up here right like, if if scotty barnes comes out with a signature not even a signature shoe but like a player edition shoe that's probably going to do pretty well up here,

I used to buy Raptor shoes. If anybody got anything close, I'd buy them. The last one, I got rid of them last year, actually, because they were... I don't know why they'd just keep them, but it was Under Armour. It was... I can't think of his name, though. Brendan Jennings? No. It was a Raptor. UCLA. No, Maryland guard. Rivas Vasquez. Rivas Vasquez. It was his PE. He had a really nice Under Armour PE. I played in the Berger's day. I bought them for a mall, and then I just had

them. I was just wearing them. I bought Fred Van Vliet. I bought two of his and ones. I was looking at getting one of his andes. I think a lot of people wanted the Mars. I don't know. It's the Kobe one. It was the red Kobe one. Oh, man. Oh, yeah, the Gerosem one. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Those were nuts. Yeah, and super crazy, crazy limited, too.

Yeah. I personally, I think it's a good idea. And I think kind of, I wouldn't refer to Toronto as a small market, but in a market like maybe that's not Los Angeles, Boston, New York, maybe Miami or Atlanta.

Like you know just going across the league utah memphis uh uh minnesota i know they have and so they've got kind of like a big signature sneaker there but like you know if you know utah memphis uh who else is like a smaller team in the midwest there you know oklahoma too right g uh we mentioned jalen jale uh what's the jalen williams right yeah he's the one with adidas right who's got the pinky and the brain, he like great example right like I mean I'm sure if he released like a signature,

Adidas or sorry I don't want to say signature a PE of something with like his logo and maybe team colors I'm sure that would do really really well in Oklahoma right. Sure, I think PEs would take off more so than creating a new signature. Like if they adjusted these team colors with their logo, so that would be a more in-depth creative part of it, would be coming up with your logo, if you'd have a logo already.

Most players, regardless of who they are, everyone's wearing their own clothes and has their own logo now anyway, because they have their own. They brand themselves, basically, as soon as they get in the league, like, you know, Siakam versus Spicy P stuff, and he's the only one that has any of that stuff. Although that stuff sells anywhere, but he's had it since he was, you know, his second or third year he's been wearing that Spicy P stuff.

So I think a lot of players have their own logos anyway because they have their creative teams or they have somebody on their team, on their, you know, their, in their, whatever it is, their pot of people that, you know is somewhat creative that's created a logo for them to create a small brand or create some branding so I think a PE would go, further than like an actual signature sneaker that designed like a new silhouette or whatever it is.

No, I agree. I agree. I think that that has some opportunity to move some units for sure. I think that's a cool thing because there's always all-stars that make the team that aren't in a big market or don't have that star power. Pascal Siakam, Fred Van Fleet as an example have been all-stars when they were in Toronto. They're not the top of the league star. They're not a John Morant.

They're not an Anthony Edwards, a LeBron James, a Kevin Durant. but they're great guys on a good team right so yeah they can have an all-star season but they're probably not going to get a signature sneaker right so a PE for someone like that who yeah had a really good season and you know deserves that kind of accolade and credit Pascal Siakam wears a lot of KDs cool to see like a KD colorway I mean personally I would

have loved it in a Raptors colorway but you know like it'd be cool in an Indiana Pacers colorway as well right like You could do a lot of cool stuff with that. He's the star of that team. Halliburton is not... Watching him play, it was kind of cool to see how much his game has grown. Being on the Raptors. Halliburton gets all the looks and everything like that. But that's really Siakam's team.
