Intro / Opening

Music. Hi everyone, and welcome to episode 216 of the InKicksWeTrust podcast.

Welcome to InKicksWeTrust Episode 216

I'm here with two-fifths of the InKicksWeTrust team. Rich, how's it going? Surprise, surprise. What's good? For context, we switched our recording date because my dodgeball, we got moved to another day. So we all agreed on the recording date, but it's been a struggle to get us all here for the last few weeks. And it's usually Kev. Like, it's usually Kev and Trev.

Yeah. out of the one so that's why i'm like a surprise that to me in trouble we agreed on the date then kev had four wednesdays where he wasn't able to make the recording it's all good anyways all good.

Guest Introduction: Flex Luther Joins Us

We're joined by a guest today so we're joined by one half of the soul brothers podcast so today we're joined by flex luther flex appreciate you joining us man it's an honor man i'm glad to be here glad to be here i appreciate you joining us i i was telling it telling you earlier but yeah uh i've said this with a few guys that we've had on you know may june july of last year i kind of just went through i'm like i'm gonna be listening to more podcasts in the car

all day like there's no reason why i should only be listening to three sneaker podcasts so soul kicks footwear like all that kind of stuff was you know yeah i went searching and you guys were one of the pods that came up and you were pretty early on at that point so i was like oh cool like this is a new podcast like i'm excited to kind of watch them and see them grow so yeah cool to see your growth over the last almost year so yeah yeah so happy to see that and uh really

happy you took the time of this man so thank you yeah no man we we every time i released the episode from episode one man i was trying to change something uh change the artwork change the flow of the conversation change the layout something so hopefully you've seen the growth that first episode was a little rough but episode one was a little rough there was no format or nothing it was just press record and go it's part of the process though yeah right you gotta fight part

of the process last week we introduced a completely new segment that we've never done before right so you gotta gotta try new things and do something different and see how it how it's perceived so. Oh, I like it. I like it. We're trying to introduce something new, you know, kind of, I feel like we'd be going over the same things over and over again. So I try to introduce things and my, my partner Morgan, he gets to get bored quick. So I got to keep him entertained.

Got to, got to keep him on the payroll. So, you know, I got to keep him entertained. You guys do a great job with it. I love, I love the, like how you have the, like the, just the two of you and you kind of chat and then you've got the guests in there as well, which is like nice conversation as well. So definitely happy to get you on.

Yeah man we had to add the guests man i just me as i try when i think about podcasts i try to think of how i feel when i'm listening to other people's podcasts because sometimes i like the element of two people or the element of that one person but then it's kind of like oh we got a guest i would love to see how those two personalities you know mesh together so that's why i was like you know what we should start having guests and here we are we've been

having guests pretty quite frequently so yeah no definitely love to see it man it's some good guests on i know he had the homie miller on uh i think it was two or three weeks ago something like that yeah yeah it was like yeah it was the week before this episode dropped yeah yeah man shout out shout out mr miller man.

Yeah a bunch of knowledge man bunch of knowledge man you don't that's not like i told him man it's 30 years of collecting that's that's badge that's three badges times three you know like Like, that's, you know, it's not just a brush. I was like, nah, you know, I've just been collecting 39, bro, 30 years. That's longer than a lot of these people have been alive. So a lot of people, you know, calling themselves a sneaky head, and you've been collecting longer than they've been alive.

It's pushing my age. So, yeah, that's the truth. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You know, people, big names in the game now, you know, claiming they're sneaky heads and you're doing this and doing that. It's like, bro's older. You know, his collection is older than you. So, hey, you know, put some respect on his name. Yes, sir. Salute to the homie Miller, man. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yeah.

Wears and Pickups: Sneaker Highlights

Well, excited to get in with you, man. So we'll kick it off with our wears and pickups. So we're going to have the least exciting one go first, which is me this week. I did not get a lot of wears off this week. The Air Pegasus 89 that I have, the golf pair, the all gray, just a buddy of mine gave it to me for free.

So I wear it to work frequently. air max one concept heavy was probably the best pair that i wore air max one just a general release pair that i have here actually just black and sale it's kind of got like the what is that called the is it the not the snake skin leather the so it was what was on the drake tens i like that ray, whatever yeah right stingray yeah so it's got like that stingray leather on it so yeah same, just a nice little nice little nike yeah super simple so wear it to work every

once in a while and i'm not sure what the name of this shoe is i'm gonna look it up it's a kobe 9 it was a blue, blue and yellow pair i can't remember what the name of it was i don't know if anyone remembers that kobe 9 yeah here second i'll send you all a link in the chat general release pair that came out back when they originally dropped. Yeah, yeah, yeah. StockX has his going for it. Yeah, I remember those. $713, which is insane. That's crazy.

Think about? That's crazy. That is crazy. Maybe someone wants that $13 since there's no bids on StockX. I was about to say, Chad, you need to upload that. I was going to say a $13? I was going to say, it's a $13, and the buy now price is $25,000. So, you know what? Maybe I don't need that shoe that much. Easily. That's the easy decision right there It's not that important.

I know pickups for me this week I'm the weekend dropped his album on Friday And he announced the concert So I'm desperately trying to get tickets, He's coming out here one show My wife was actually telling me about that So he's going to be here He's got four shows now So he's added two since he first announced it So it's July let's say summertime she was saying yeah it's in july i want to say like the 20 24th 24 25 and then he's here august 7th and 8th i think it

is okay okay we got two different dates dope and i'm gonna try to get that to get some tickets for that as well yeah actually so they had their first pre-sale today so 500s are going for about 300 bucks and there's two two other sets there's one other pre-sale that's coming in and then the general release tickets are going out so i'm thinking they shouldn't be too, too bad. Yeah, I'm not paying $500. No. It's wild. No, $300. $300.

Even $300 too. That's crazy. So when I went to the last tour, the After Hours Dawn FM tour, I think I paid about $200 for 500 seats? Yeah, that's quite a good one. Well, unless you have an hour to be sitting around on Ticketmaster, Rich, to try and get those seats. I might, man. You know what I mean? I might. I might have to go that route. I'm sorry. Which is wild because I have no problem spending $300 on a pair of sneakers.

I'll tell you rich like if your wife likes the weekend and like wants to go it's a fantastic like it's i fuck i fucks the weekend 100 so yeah it'll be it'll be something nice it'll theoretically be his last tour as the weekend okay so then maybe i might have to there's a whole thing he's like trying to kill the weekend like so he's trying to kill that stage name so if you notice he's releasing like like a movie to go along with his album and in the the trailer there's someone

saying wake up tell me what your name is and he says abel so i think this is this the whole thing on this is that it's going to end his weekend run and he's going to start releasing so that reinvent reinventing himself type of shit so it makes sense with the new album the last song on the album actually transitions into i for this which was the first song off of this mixtape so it's okay yeah i'm gonna go take the album in too i didn't realize i forgot i didn't realize that the

album dropped the first like i think it's like the first like six or seven songs are like my weekend is like top years 100 100 oh dope got it yeah i get some merch because that merch is gonna be that that's gonna be the last one with that weekend hell yeah i said i was thinking too yeah yeah definitely something that you want to keep yeah 100 that's yeah i'm gonna.

Rich if you're interested in going just as like a side note last time he was here i tried buying tickets last night i regret not doing this because i went to the one show but i was going to go to the second show by myself because he has an opener i knew and i saw him the night before i knew when he was going to go on so i did the wait till the concert starts to look for tickets oh and then you can just pop in when he's yet well because i knew he had an opener

and he wasn't good like if the concert started at six or seven i knew he wasn't actually going on till like seven thirty or eight or something like that so i knew i could wait till like seven for someone to try to snag something just to be desperate to get rid of something and be like like just someone buy this right so yeah, If you want to play a little Russian roulette, that's not a bad way to get some cheap seats. If it was just me. If it was just me, maybe. But me and the wife,

yeah. She's not having that. I'm going to buy seats for probably one of the first shows, and then I'm going to go see the last show, but I'm going to do that. I'll know where he starts, because he's got Playboy Cardi opening for him and Mike Dean, so that way I'll know how long their sets are and where, roughly, he's going to go. Where he comes in. at downtown for dinner. Sit at the restaurant by my seat. Smart. Okay. Yeah, road tip. My name is necessary. Absolutely.

That's it. Good week. Good week, Trev. Thank you. I'll go next. I don't got any pickups, so our guests, we'll save them for last, man. Yeah, I had a pretty slow week as well, Trev. Nothing too crazy. I wore the Morp Temple, that ambush pair, black and white, all black with the whites. Blacks and men threes. Wore those yesterday. And then today I wore Air Force Ones that are a ray gun pair. And then that was it. And then just Tim's.

I mean, I got to walk with the Tim's. We got a lot of snow out here. So, I mean, it's been great. The weather has been, like, fucked. The last couple days. So, we're in that awkward stage where it's like, and I hate it because I got to wear boots and bring sneakers with me to work. So, PK, what is it? PK? What's it? PK Goods? What's the full name of the joint trev that we got the little travel bags from? PKG, is it? Yeah, PKG. You're on mute, Trev. I can't read lips.

Yes, it was PKG. Yes, PKG. Yeah, shout out to them, PKG. They had these little travel size, like a sneaker bag. Essentially, it looks like, you know those little bags sometimes the barbers will carry? The barbers carry it? It's like a handbag almost. Go get yours, Trevi. Yeah, mine's in the closet. I can go get it, but it's dope. Trevi will bring it, but yeah, you can just fit a pair in there. It has like a handbag. It has like a little, there it is.

So yeah, you can just slide a pair in there. Just zip ones up, opens. Great for traveling too, but yeah, that's what I'm usually traveling to work with. So yeah, I'm wearing the boots and then I just walk with a pair. So, you know, it's nice, I guess, like in terms of just carrying the sneakers with you. So yeah, we're in that awkward stage where it's like slushy outside.

It's fucking snow it's salt everywhere so of course you don't want to mess the pairs up so you know got the timbaland boots and then you know just do the swap out when i get inside but.

Those are the three pairs i rocked uh no pickups fingers crossed on metallic slides we got this weekend so really trying to trying to snag a pair of those so we'll see what's good but that was oh well i guess i get in mines i thought we had like show hours so i just got mines here next to me no you can show them no good yeah yeah yeah so i went with the the equinox um omni now from sockany i just got these in last week matter of fact and i wore them for the first time in the day great

pair man the pictures don't do these justice i was able to speak with josh to help design these and he wasn't lying man because uh i told him the crystal cave was one of my favorite pairs from um sockany and that omni nine i. Mean he was like well just imagine the crystal cave but darker and that's pretty much what it is so that's what I went with today and then again I went with another Sockney Starkows I went with these the day before again another clean

pair man I really really feeling the Omni 9 right now so I've been just been the color blocking and what I've seen they have lined up for 2025 I've really been really in my Sockney bag and then I didn't shoot my my monday pair was over there i went with uh sparadon uh cage two and that metallic silver the metallic i i really call it uh what's the metallic bullet color we've seen it on uh the air max 97 the silver bullet silver bullet yeah silver bullet yeah silver bullet but yeah i wore those

monday it was cool outside so you know let the let the feet breathe that's it yeah we're transitioning to that that where it's like like cold in the morning and then by the evening time it's like hot and you're ready to take a glow yeah now that i hate this i hate that i was literally about this that is the worst because when you go out you dress you dressing for the cold and then if you got layered up then you gotta start peeling shit off you know what i mean like it's just yep

that's just brutal yeah that's brutal because i walked outside when i'm like man my feet are freezing but like you know what it's gonna it's gonna warm up let's just keep them on and luckily it there so yeah but uh yeah no no pickups today i mean no pickups this week so far. But even if you have anything that's recent like what was your last one yeah yeah the equinox okay you just said yeah yeah yeah that was that was that was the last one i got i think so,

Sometimes I forget. But yeah, I think that's... I think that's... I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty sure that's a last one. I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty sure it's a last one. Dope lineup. I like that second pair. The Sockin' Meese. Oh, the Stark House? Yeah, it was like a vote almost. Yeah, yeah. When I seen them, what made me really, like, go towards them was it reminded me of Sail from Dragon Ball Z. Yeah. I was just like, yeah, I got to have these, man. I got to have those.

But yeah, shout out to the star cow uh paris it's a collaboration with them but yeah nice i love i love though i like what sock and he's doing i just i just don't personally know enough about him so i love when i hear you guys talk about them because i'm like i just don't know enough about them sort of thing like jtips i love what he's doing with sock and he but like and i just love how he's giving people access to sneakers but i just don't know about enough what he's doing like when we did our

shoe of the year i think i i mentioned him as an honorable mention because it's like I love what he's doing but I just don't know enough about the shoes to like really talk about them sort of thing right yeah yeah nah I mean I would definitely uh suggest getting a pair Omni 9 or the Progrid Triumph 4 those are very comfortable breathable it's definitely a game changer like I I spoke before about like falling in love with Snickers

again when you're finding that new brand that you really you're not hip to or you just didn't pay attention to you start Digging into that brand You start seeing These old silhouettes And colorways And stories That you haven't heard Yeah, It's Yeah Definitely check them out Definitely check them out Omni 9 is my suggestion The Omni 9 silhouette.

I love it i hear you uh you guys and i know i hear hoss talking about that as well too yeah yeah yeah i mean yeah they're definitely on a run now i mean if you don't know them yet you're gonna know i mean they're definitely they're definitely making making some noise so and then you know we got we got another jtips with that jazz nine that he just leaked so, everybody's hyped about that and you got the west side gun collaboration up yeah that's coming soon,

so yeah yeah no oh love it good week yeah great week my nice pickup too yeah very nice maybe that's the running shoe for you rich sock me i'm liking those i'm liking those yeah those are tough. Smooth they you know what i always say man stylish and comfort you got me if i can look good and be comfortable at the same time i like it give them let me get to them let me get to them yeah absolutely Absolutely.

Sneaker Journeys: How It All Started

Well, let's get into it a little bit here. So we'll get into your podcast and everything a little bit at the end there, but kind of tell us a little bit about yourself. So where did your sneaker journey began? Was it like a specific brand or model or colorway or what really got you into sneakers? I always stick with Jordan and Nike being the blueprint. So it was blueprint for me. That's what pretty much started it all. I got my love for sneakers.

I ain't going to say I got my love for sneakers because I always thought sneakers were nice. But I really started paying attention once my brother started wearing sneakers around me. And I started paying attention to what he was putting on me. And then I just kind of started going from there. I kind of built from seeing him wearing his sneakers, his forces. He was big on the forces. and the Timberlands and when the Fusions came out, he had all those.

And from there, I just fell in love with sneakers and I never looked back. So I just kept, you know, kept up with what was dropping. And then I started following the first sneaker page I really followed was Kicks on Fire.

This is when they were dropping those shirts And those shirts were going like You know Going crazy Those shirts were like shoes Kicks on fire drop a shirt That shirt gone I don't know if they were dropping three or four But Them shirts were gone, Classic Yes bro Them shirts were gone Kicks on fire drop a shirt They were gone So, Then it like I led into Sneaker news And then later on Nice kicks And like I said I just kind of built my own identity From that point on Cause I don't I

don't even like forces But like That's primarily where my brother would wear forces in Timberlands. But yeah, that's definitely where it started. Because for a while, I mean, I was loving video games, man. I didn't care what was on feet as long as I had a controller in my hand. So that was maybe like 06, 07. I was like, okay, let's start paying attention to what we were. Because then I think I kind of got away from like video gaming, but I was still into wrestling.

And then that's when I, you know, I think I just kind of got older and just started looking elsewhere for entertainment and, you know, leisure time. Do you remember what that first pair was for you? Like, what was that first pair of kicks that you, that you had? Like you mentioned a couple of things there, but do you remember what the first pair was? I'm trying to, I'm trying to think what was, I'm going to be honest with you because I can't... I know what they are now, but I'm not sure.

It was either the Black History Month 3s or the Black Cat 3s when they first released. But... They were like a half a size too small. So they were like an eight and a half and I'm a nine and a half. And like, I was putting tape on my feet to fit those sides in there. And, but I just knew like, I was like, man, if these ever released again, man, I gotta get them. I got, I appreciate it. I appreciate it. Black History Month threes. I think that's the pair.

Cause I think that was the one with this, like the, the gold lining. But, um, yeah. So I was like, yeah, if these ever released again, these, these are going to be the ones. And that's when I started looking into Jordan.

And at that time I'm just looking up Air Jordan I didn't you know I wasn't looking at 3 4, 5, 6, 7 and that came later on but we're gonna say the Black History Month 3's okay yeah that's a great pair that would have been what 08 or Rich was it 06, definitely I'm thinking it lines up I'm pretty sure the year exactly the Black History Month 3's yeah I think it was I don't want the guys to get on this I think it was 08 I know, right?

Hey, I feel that because they're going to be like, oh, they don't even know what they're talking about. Yeah, they're going to be like, oh, that's the wrong day they came out this year. And I'm like, we're not encyclopedias now. We can make it six here. 2011. It seemed longer than that. It seemed longer than that. Nah, it's good. It's got to be because 2011, I was well into it. It's got to be the Black Cats, man.

It's got to be the Black Cats. When were the Black Cats? when did they first release? The Threes. I think that. Black Cats. We about to do some. Oh, Sam. Black Cats. Yeah, the Black Cats was early. I'm getting confused. I got mixed up. So Black Cats was early. That's where I'm getting that 07, 08. And then the Black History Month of 2011. So yeah, it's definitely got to be a Black Cat. So it was the Black Cats, and I was just kind of meshing them together. But the Black History Month is

still a nice pair. We're going with the Black Cat Threes. But yeah, from that point on, you know, I was, yeah, I was like, okay, I can't fit these, but, you know, we're going to get them one day. And at that time, I wasn't hip to the whole, I don't even know if they were doing it at the time. Because this was 07, I don't know if they were doing a whole 10-year wait and we're going to drop another, you know.

That was kind of like one of those unspoken rules, kind of like, I know I'm going to get it in 10 years, but now it's like three. Now you'll get a retro in three years. It used to be like, I'll get them in 10 years, you know. I ain't going to see these again for another 10 years. But yeah, yeah, that's the one. Black Hat 3s.

The Allure of Retro Releases

Now the question is, did you get the retro that came out? Not yet. Not yet. Okay, okay. Heavy on it yet. Heavy on it yet. Heavy on it yet. We got those brids that's dropping this month. We got the metallic cybers that are dropping. Yeah, the black metallics that are dropping. We got the galaxies. We got a couple things from Saki that's dropping. So like, you know, I'm not. What's the date for the Galaxy? I'm seeing pairs already. People are showing pairs for his pictures and stuff like that.

I think it's 20-something. It's 20-something. 22nd, maybe? I think. Of this month? 21st, yeah. Of this month. 21st of this month. Trying to time into All-Star, maybe? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Definitely. Definitely, yeah.

But yeah, it's the 21st, So, yeah, I've been The black cats They're not, I ain't gonna say they're, They're accessible, so I can put them on the back burner For a little bit Yeah, those are sitting Yeah, I don't know what these guys are gonna do We already know what the Braids are gonna do So.

We already know what the Braids are gonna do Especially with that limited number they ran with, Yeah, man People started going crazy We was touching upon it I think it was our last part You know, everybody's, oh, the ones is dead and then boom Jordan Brand out of nowhere I got you they said alright they dead yeah we gonna give you this limited this limited number and watch the hype come back and everybody losing their mind over them so I'm curious to see what

the resale is gonna be on them the greatest marketing company in the world marketed the hell out of those limited pairs they're doing they're doing at first I was I was like, but then I was like okay the Nike suit loving what they're doing with that then the these invites they're doing I'm loving all of that man I like that um if I don't know if you guys have been seeing but Soulplay from in Atlanta they're having like door-to-door service like legit guy coming up to the door

handing them the invite which I thought was super dope that's what we were missing for a while I feel like they kind of got a little comfortable Nike got a little comfortable and just like oh I know you're gonna buy it here.

Another black and red jordan one another all black four there you go and then when people kind of like you know what you gotta give us more they're like all right we let me let's let us remind you who we are yeah let us remind you you know that's what they did with this bread one it's a reminder like you know we we you know we still the top dog don't forget it when i whenever.

We talked about i think it was last week it could have been the week before but but when frank cook said he was restoring the feeling that's exactly what he talked about it's that mark because i i have the 2016 pair i'm super happy with it i love the tumble leather on it i wasn't interested in getting another pair but then you see all the cool stuff they've done for it they're they're blocking out all the jordan ones on the nike website they're blocking out the jordans on jordan's feet on the

jordan statute jordans have been banned from 2k i don't know if you if you caught that for like a couple days nike giving out citations to people wearing jordan ones at their headquarters like so cool like they're just that marketing the advertisements they've done all that cool stuff that goes along with it that's the feeling because it's like now i'm like i need this pair i have it i don't need another one but now it's like i need this but see that

was gonna be my first that was gonna be my first bread and i was thinking like it like i was like this is going to be the year because i'm like days everybody's saying that air jordan ones are dead everything they drop air jordan one was saying so i'm like all right this is my year to get the brand one nope nope that's what i was banking on too yeah i was banking on that that whole jordan one hype was dead and these are gonna fly under the radar and yeah they come

with the bullshit as usual per usual yeah yeah do you guys do y'all follow the the nike nike suit an Instagram account? No. No, I don't think so. So the personality, it's like a personality that Nike created. He's the one handing out the citations. And he has like his own Instagram account and he like posts what he's doing and then he went live the other day from the account. And he's like this, you know, company man. And he's like looking at his computer like, yeah, we got to ban these.

And he looks at the phone and he's like, Mom? He's like, what is this? who is these people? And he's just interacting with the chat. And I'm like, this is it. This is it. You know, like, this is what we need. And so like, if he interacts with you, you comment because his, his slogan is, I forgot it. It's something with the risk. But he interacts with you. The engagement's there. Like, I was like, yeah, this is what we need. And I'm hoping that they keep the character.

And he goes after all the pairs that are coming out of the vault. Because his whole thing is like Nike should have banned the one. Like, it was better for the company because they wasted their money with paying all the fees for Jordan every time he wore the banned ones or whatever.

So he's like this goes against company policy it should not be a thing so I think if they keep this personality and have him like go against you know hey you shouldn't be re-releasing these you're wasting materials we need something new you know what I'm saying I think that would be keep people engaged and but yeah it's I like what they're doing definitely with that with the the Nike suit the Nike suit account so whenever y'all get

a chance definitely check it out and you know look at what they're doing over there i think it's pretty dope yeah let's check that out.

Yeah he was at the grammys and everything oh what oh shit oh okay yeah okay yeah yeah yeah he was at the grammys he was like yeah now this is what you call marketing and stuff like that yeah that's crazy they did an ad i believe uh nike did an ad at the grammys and he was and he was there pretty much like saying that he's the one that got them to do it and stuff like this so it's dope that's yeah. We ain't seen it from Nike in a while so we haven't we really haven't.

They said ASICS they said New Balance they said oh y'all sit down even here yeah they're definitely definitely trying to get back whatever they feel they lost you know and it was like nah where y'all think y'all going like I said you know we can't deny man I love my soccer needs I love all the other brands, but we all know that Nike and Jordan brand is definitely the blueprint. I feel like, you know, the blueprint for most, you know, anybody's really been doing this for a long time.

You you're usually gonna get well it was a jordan or i remember watching him play or stuff like that definitely the blueprint yeah and i mean talking about like sock knees and asics because i know you have a club like we talked about sock knees a little bit earlier but have you seen the culture grow kind of since that time when you first started getting the sneakers oh yeah absolutely, no absolutely man i can remember the blogs weren't even putting these stories

out for like the Sockenies and the A6 and the New Balance, unless it was a collaboration with, you know, these big stores, you know, it was a Bodega collab or a Concepts collab. That's when you got those blogs, but just like a general release, New Balance, you really wouldn't see that. You didn't see a blog. You didn't see, get these here. It wasn't like that, you know, but now the everybody's looking elsewhere and you got your, what they call them, the A6 Rangers.

Now you, everybody's posting something that's dropping or that's dropping from a6 or dropping from new balance dropping from sock knee it's not just nike nike nike jordan jordan jordan because that's how it was you're scrolling you're looking at what jordan's dropping this month what nike's dropping this month you know it wasn't oh there's oh there's three different new balances there's a new uh bodega collab there's a new uh foot patrol they're like it wasn't like that i'm not that i can't

remember i know morgan he he's got that he's been with the runner.

Community for a while so i feel like that's a niche group that like there were blogs but it's kind of like you had to look for it you know yeah i don't think it was like front page or like the beginning of the website like you gotta dig for it i kind of search for it but yeah the the diversity within the community now is you know like i we spoke about it on the pod i feel like in the upcoming years the blueprint is what we call it now may not be joining the nike it may be a6 it may be a

new balance it may be a sockney because there's a lot of people that got into the collecting because of these brands you know because of the new balance frenzy because of vans and stuff like that so yeah it wouldn't surprise me five years from now someone's got a collection you're like you know what was your first pair and they're like oh it was uh new balance 550 or yeah yeah like trees or whatever yeah it wouldn't surprise me

it wouldn't surprise me because we're straighting further further away from the blueprint as we what i call it i'm gonna say we but as i call it so yeah definitely a lot And from when I started collecting and really getting into it, like I said, 07 is really when I started looking at it, when I really started collecting like 2010, 2012. So 13 years, yes, definitely different because, I mean, yeah, you wore a pair of New Balances like you got grandpa sneakers on, you got old man sneakers on.

Again, that was a very niche group that wore New Balances, that wore runners and Asics as well. You know, I remember seeing Asics and Socking These around and not knowing the name of them. But I knew like, oh, I know I've seen those around, but like, I don't know what I don't know the name of it. And so, oh, Asics. Oh, OK. Now I know. Now I know. But it wasn't. Oh, I got, bro, check out these new Asics that I got. It was definitely not that.

I want to touch on the things you said there specifically, because you talked about like New Balance being like a grandpa shoe. So I worked at Foot Locker for eight years. So we used to carry the Monarch version of New Balances. I can't remember what the number of it is. I want to say it's 580 or 60. I could be wrong about the number. I might be wrong about it. But it's basically the Monarchs, but New Balances version comes in the double E, so the extra wide or the 4E, extra wide.

So it's funny when New Balance started becoming a thing, I'm like, that's literally how I thought of them. I thought of them as grandpa shoes. Because when I think of New Balance, that's the shoe that I always associated the brand with. Not that they don't have some really good stuff like, you know, the 2002 R's and the 1906 R's are really nice. I like them. I've done some really good collabs with them. But that's always the shoe I think of when I think of New Balance.

And similarly, Asics, you know, the ones that people are wearing, 1100s, 2100s, Kyanos, Cumulus, Nimbus, whatever it is. Those were all running shoes.

I was working at Foot Locker. so it's like people who are like when you talk about a niche group people who were coming in were coming in to run in those so they come in buy them because they were either comfortable shoe for running walking wherever it was or they come in because they're a runner wear them running them for i think it was they're supposed to replace them after 500 kilometers, running them for 500 kilometers and then they swap them out for another

pair so like when i started to see that that trend becoming where like people are wearing just like plain white and black 11 30s or whatever it is i was like what that's cool now yeah it's yeah it's crazy to see just like with the the all black and all white shoe i can remember like everybody wants something flashy you know like the all black shoe was just like oh that's that's all black shoe.

Get that out of here i won't give me some blue trims give me some red trims give me some gold or something but it was never like all black shoes gotta have them it was like i got it i got plenty of black shoes i don't need an all black jordan i don't need that but now now flex did you go to a uniform school by any chance like private school like a private yeah we're sorry yeah private school for you well see well see well see well here

it didn't matter about private school so they came up with this thing where they felt like they could limit bullying if everybody wore uniforms so whether you was in like a private school or public school people wore uniforms and it was all the way up to high school because then they felt like you were mature enough to wear your own clothes so um yeah crazy right yeah because we're the opposite so for catholic high schools so you have you go to catholic or public

school in canada catholic schools are uniformed and you have to wear black shoes. So I went to Catholic high school. So when I got my job in 11th grade, I was like, I don't want to wear all black shoes. I have to wear that five days a week. I want to wear something that any other color, like I don't love white shoes personally, but it didn't matter. Like I just wanted to wear something that had some type of color on it that wasn't all black.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, I feel that. I mean, and see that's what it was with us, but like we could wear different color shoes so like we had to wear the same color pants and shirts so the shoes was that point like gotcha oh i'm gonna wear these because i'm gonna stand out like everybody was most of the time people try to match their stuff so usually be like an all-white force because that's what air force that's what went well so that's what you would see majority and

then you see somebody come in and they got like diversity red sixes on you know and it's kind of like, It's different, you know, so if you have something flashy on, you got your votes on. But for a while, you had to match your shirt. So whatever color your gray was, you had to match that. So Jordan's again would win because, you know, black and red, the bull. So, yeah. And that was that was my school colors. It was black, red and white. So perfect. Yeah, right.

Perfect, man. Yeah. But I agree with you on the on the black, the black pairs.

The Shift in Sneaker Culture

It's funny too because like i like black you know it's not a color it's a shade but in terms of sneakers i don't like all black sneakers yeah like they're just plain to me so like the what was the one that was what's the fours there charles that they've gone crazy over black cat fours like i'm i'm like why these a thousand dollars like they resell for a thousand dollars for a plain black shoe the the black cat threes it's

a nice shoe right but i just I'm not going to spend $300 on an all black shoe like, does nothing for me so it is odd that you know you see people now and it's like yeah they just want a straight just black pair yeah yeah, like a little color of pop right like if it's like a gray like you said like some of the lines like the. That's what okay the which one we just talked about the black but you got the gold trim See, I could do that. But, like, that black hat?

I need something. Something there. I mean, I like an all-black shoe, but, like, I don't need five or six of them. There you go. Like, I got my white metallic silver fives, and then I got my metallic silver retro 11s. Like, I don't think I need another white shoe. Like, I don't think. And then I got my question lows that are all white. so like.

I'm not looking for I'm not looking for another all white shoe, and I have I think I got the Nocta, for all black shoe I think that's my only all black shoe is my Nocta the Drake pair yeah I mean other than that I got all black shoes but they got some type of something in it something in it yeah red or something but, yeah cause me I have none yeah I got none when I really think about it I don't have anything that's like just all black black yeah nah The only one I have

is the, I have a pair of all black Karachis.

I don't even have those and you know what you know what's funny i i'm against all black shoes but there's something to me about an all black pair of like running shoes like that that i just really like i can't explain it to you i mean i feel like you need a pair in the collection, you need an all black pair you need an all white pair but like just to go crazy because that's the reason why i didn't even grab the black cats i remember when the black cats first released.

Like nobody was really wanting them because again it was an all-black shoe it was just like it's all-black shoe like we're good i will we'll get it later until about the forest, yeah when they when they released it because they didn't gain that traction or height till later on i was about to say that i'm like when the black hat forest came out like yeah it was just there that's why i was surprised when they took off and i'm like why

are you selling for a thousand dollars now when before you could get them easy like no one was really messing with yeah so i don't know what the allure was and i don't know if it's like with the kids just that concept of that all black they just kind of took it around influence man influence.

Influencers and influence yeah all you need a couple videos and i believe it i think and i think that's what it was right i'm like a dinosaur in a sense of like yeah we don't i it's just it's hard sometimes to comprehend just like in terms of the trends you know because first it was different, right? We looked at the ballplayers, the rappers. That was, and I mean, maybe this is their equivalent of that. You know what I'm saying? So, I think that's what it is.

Because my son at the time, he was like 15 or 16. He's like, yeah. He's like, I want to pay the Black Air Force. And I'm like, yeah, who the fuck is paying? I'm like, I'm not paying. I wouldn't even buy them for myself. I'm like, I'm not paying. What? And then you're just going to run them into the ground. And then you're just going to kill them. So, I was like, oh, no. I'm like, nah, you're good. I'm good off those. I'm like, we ain't doing that. You want an all Black Air Force? No problem.

Yeah, like Air Force, I did get them all Black Air Forces too. Yeah, which is odd because even like, like, and I'm just like, you want the Force? I'm like, nah, but once again, the trend, right? I think he was just looking at everybody had them. So you just, you just kind of want to jump on that train. But yeah, like it's. I'm very curious to see what they do. This because they're supposed to release. They got confirmed recently to release again, the Black Cat Force.

So I'm curious to see what it's going to be like. And when they release this time around, Is it going to have that same type of traction, that same type of height? Yeah, it's true. It's odd because with the Black Cat 3s, right, I would have thought the same thing, and they're sitting. I was actually in JD Sports a couple days ago, and, yeah, they still have Paris. This is, like, what, days after the release? So, yeah, comes and goes, I guess. Travis Scott didn't put them on, so. That's it.

Travis Scott didn't put them on, so it's like, man, Travis didn't wear those. Not interested. it. Yeah. I mean, it's a great time, though, for these kids who are getting into shoes, is what I say. So this is, like, the perfect time to really get what you want because, yeah, once it picks up again, then these things are going to go up. Hey, I had to learn the hard way, man. I love when there's no hype around, man. I'm just loving getting my deals and my clearance racks.

I'm like, you can double back too for pairs. So it's like you know that it's not that you know release date comes and you know you're sweating because like I need to get these now it's like I can chill they gonna go on sale or like I said you double back man so it's a great time right now yeah great time, manage your money better too that too yeah. I think we kind of touched on this a little bit, but I think your current collection probably got a lot.

It's not just Jordans and Nikes anymore, right? You got some Sauconies in there, some A6, I think. Yeah, I got New Balance, A6. I mean, I've always had other brands, but it was mainly like Nike and Jordan. But the last few years, I definitely pivot. I would say like it was Nike, Jordan, and then it was Reebok. I love the kamikaze. That's one of my favorite silhouettes from... Speaking of my language. Yes, sir. Yeah, man. I love the kamikazes. I got at least 12 pairs of kamikazes.

Then, of course, the questions come in next. I've been loving what they've been doing, too. Loving what Reebok's doing over there as well, too. Loving... They brought back the Emmett Smith. Yes, sir. You know, waiting on those pairs to go on sale, grab those. But, yeah, man. A lot of other stuff in my collections now. But really digging heavy into stocking it, man. Talking with Jason. Doing the pod with Morgan, he's definitely put me on some new stuff. I'm not even going to front, man.

I got to blow his head up a little bit. It's already too big, but you know. I want to touch on a Reebok point just quickly because I think they're really starting to get something going. They may have seen they released those question golf shoes or Iverson officially posted them today that they're going to be an actual one. I've seen those, their red and white joints?

The red and white questions. shoes they yeah they're going to be doing them as a golf shoe now yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah i think it's really dope because reebok just just announced that they're getting back into the golf game so i think that's a really cool and easy win for them because obviously you see nike doing that with golf shoes right they're just retro in jordan's and every number and air max is actually to the same effect right so that's a nice easy win for

them i don't know if you saw they posted it today I saw it was it's the 10th anniversary of Pulse Malone's White Iverson.

So they're actually releasing a collection, yeah which i think is super cool and that's like the kind of stuff that i think reebok was missing it's basically an all-white collection there's some putties and basketballs and t-shirts and shorts i think it was but like that's the kind of stuff that like culturally they haven't been doing for a long time right like yeah you know whether you like post malone white iverson whatever right like iverson was such a great

yeah i i loved i thought it was a great song but you know.

Reebok’s Comeback: Iverson and Shaq

Iverson for us was such a good player and right like you like he's still signed your brand obviously he's like a he's he's up there now at reebok right but i love seeing that kind of stuff like i think that's a great tie-in right because we all know the song like that's what got kind of got post malone popular right so yeah like i think that's a great tie-in and i'm i'm really excited to kind to see the stuff that they're doing because i'm big into golf so like that iverson golf shoe speaks to

me i know that might not speak to everyone but stuff like that where it's like oh 10th anniversary of white iverson here's a collection like that's easy that's easy money for them and that's that ties them back to the culture very easily right so yeah but i think also too that with shack and iverson kind of coming back and you know having those roles that they have there. I think that's why we're seeing that shift in terms of Reebok.

100%. They tried it with Swiss Beats. I don't know if y'all remember a while back in Swiss. I don't know what he was thinking, what he was trying to do, but it wasn't. It just wasn't. But I think with Shaq and Iverson coming back and you just look at what Reebok is doing, right? So I think a lot of it has to do with those two guys. So I was ecstatic once they came back because I knew what was coming.

And Reebok Like yourself, Reebok is one of my favorite brands as well outside of Nike and Jordan, of course. So, yeah, questions always got to be in rotation, always got to be in the collection. I think the time is now for any brand. I mean, Reebok is Reebok, Adidas is Adidas. I mean, these brands are at the forefront for a reason. They've always been, you know, that brand. But, like, I think right now would be the best time to try to execute something

big. It's time to roll out those golf shoes, roll out those big marketing things because people are looking elsewhere, you know, like it's not loyalty towards the brand anymore. You know, those people, I'm team Nike, I'm team Joy, I'm team this, I'm team that. Now it's kind of like I'm trying to see what's comfortable and what's affordable or, you know, what's trendy, you know, and it could be any brand.

It doesn't really matter. I mean, there is no, you don't get shunned or shamed anymore for brands or cut or color or fakes. And at that point, you know, it's just like, if you can make it look good, if you can make it go viral, you know. You're good. You, you in there. So as you get someone that's got a ton of followers and they see something that Puma's doing or Nike's doing or Reebok's doing, Oh, you good. You finna, you finna, that's going to be a crazy chain of events.

That's going to follow that viral video. So the time is now the time is definitely now. I agree. 100%. And are there any pairs in your class? Like any unique pairs that you have in your collection that stands out? Could be anything. Either it's just a story. I know you guys did an episode kind of talking about stories along with some of your shoes. Well, yeah, I mean, I've always, I'm always speaking crazy. There's like an ongoing joke about my Ben 7s.

Like anytime somebody asks me about, you know, a unique shoe in my collection, I always bring in my Ben 7s. And Morgan's always like, bro, here we go again. Ben 7, Ben 7. But I love my Ben 7s, man. And early when I was collecting, I seen them on feet. And first thing I did was search them up looking. And at that time, it was at an insane price. And I'm like, yeah, I'm probably never going to see those.

And I actually was able to get them. And I'm like, there was a big moment for me because I'm like, I really, truly thought like, yeah, I'm never getting that pair.

Unique Shoes and Personal Stories

I'm never seeing that pair. and as I think the number is a little over 2,000 pairs which is you know that's a crazy number when you think about sneakers and people that's into it you know only a little over 2,000 people got got that pair speaking of Reebok my Candyland Kamikaze I still think that's a crazy pair a lot of people hate that pair but I think it's a dope pair and then the storytelling on the box you got that cherry

red 12 stuck in the mud a lot you know hits and hints that uh Jordan and Iverson and just because that's the pair he got crossed up in. So it's just sitting there in the mud stuck. What's another unique pair I got in my collection? Oh, I got a bunch of Nike Bayou's that I got that I made, you know. My only pair of Air Forces in my collection is a Nike Bayou.

When I made that pair for myself when I got, I think it was like, 30k on tiktok i believe it was just kind of like a a gift to myself yeah then i i just got my forest green 14s 20 years later so that that that for me that's that's a unique pair because i mean 20 years later you know almost 20 years later i think it's like two years off but still to get them in the condition i got them in no cracking no crumbling i've worn them like four times already of course Of course,

I'm not running down the road in them, but still. Yeah, the good thing with the 14s, you don't got to worry about the crumbling on those. It's more or less just going to be a re-glue for you. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, just wait until they start to separate a bit. And honestly, you're just getting re-glue and make good money. Yeah. Yeah, I did have my fighter jet foam pauses. They fell apart on me. My soles came out. Yeah, my fighter jets came. They didn't fall apart.

When I was wearing them, I was taking them off. And I went to go grab my shoe from the back end. To grab you out. Yeah. And like the sole came off instead of my shoe. I was like. Yeah. Can't do that, man. When you get into those pairs, like you got to like, you know, put the finger in the heel and kind of pull them off. Yeah, yeah. You can't pull from the bottom, man. Because you're going to rip the sole right off.

Man, I got a little cocky because, man, I got a ton of pairs from like just like 10 years and older. And I have no problem. Like I said, no cracking, no crumbling, nothing. So I was like, man, I don't believe that. whoop. Yeah, halfway. They like, halfway of like, oh, a shoe didn't come off my sole there, but you know, then I got my do the right thing threes. Yeah, I got those too. Those is holding on for dear life. So I'm very... When I wear those out, I work with a pair, a secondary pair,

just in case. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. My paint is cracking, but other than that, they're good. They're good money. No... You know, no fogged up stuff or no crumbling, no mushy midsole. Yeah, mine's fogged up a little bit. The midsole is still pretty firm. The heel tab is cracking. Like, it's all cracked up. But, yeah, the paint's cracking, but the midsole is still firm. So, this summer, I'm hoping I can get a few more spins in it.

And then I'm probably going to sole swap them just because it's not a pair. Like, a pair like that, I feel like you got to be able to wear them. So, I think that's one. I'm definitely probably going to do a sole swap on them just so I can continue wearing those jeans. But yeah, just be careful. When you get into like 10 plus years, yeah, you got to be very mindful how you take your ass off. Yeah, yeah, yeah, man. I got a whole lot, I got a whole side of my room because

like I said, 2012, 2011 was big years for me. Like, big years for me. And I pretty much, when we went into the, what do you call it, the remastered? Yeah. The black and gold boxes. Man, I got like 30 of those. So like that's 30 years 30 shoes they're like 10 years plus and then i got a ton of the fingerprint when we'll see in the jordan box with the fingerprint on there a ton of those so like.

Yeah i when i open that box i'll be kind of like yeah let me see what's good yeah like come on let's see but you know luckily i always tell people it's all about the way you store them man. You can't store no shoes. If you got a ton of them, you can't store them in no hot room. And it can't go from... Yeah. That's the only reason why I didn't go with the whole line of like, you know, people had their actual shoe out on display. I'm like, nah, bro.

Them things are going to turn yellow. That's the worst thing you could do. That's the worst thing you could do. The best place is in the boxes. That's what people don't realize. In the boxes, nice, cool room. Like I said, dark. Once you get them out, that's why I don't like the drop fronts.

I was toying with it, but then at the same time, I'm like, a lot of my parents, I got a lot of older parents as well, I'm like, it's not going to be good for them because the sunlight just exposed to all of that and to have them out, the best place is in the box. I agree. Yeah, I got anything that's in my drop front boxes is something that's like, either I bought with no box or it's something durable.

I'm not going to, or air jordan one something that's sold on it's not gonna not gonna if there's something gets to it we're still good but like i got my four screens in there because it didn't come with a box because those i bought us out the market but crazy deal on those a hundred dollars yeah yeah i was like i was like yeah i got it let me go ahead and let me get those man but i mean i mean a lot of unique pairs are, when I got them, they weren't unique.

You know, like, my De La Soul SBs, that's a unique pair. Now, when I got them, it was just like, I mean, it was a nice pair, but now it's just like, you know, that's, that's the people grills like, Oh, I got to have the De La Soul, SBs. I got to have those. Those are my grills. And I, like I said, I tell the story a lot. I could call it to my, my local skate shop. Hey, I seen those in a wheelchair. Can y'all hold on for me? Yeah, we got you.

And then, then the Chunky Dunky happened. I called up and like, Hey, I got Chunky. No, Raffle. I hung up the phone, bro. I was like, damn, they probably, I was probably like the hundred or, you know, 200 person.

Hunting for Grails

Like no we're not getting raffled sorry man sorry hey man just a few years ago we were good to do this kind of yeah man yeah man i i got my sheep and wolf clothing from them too yeah no it was exclusively from not exclusively but like it was a collaboration with black sheep that was the skate shop and i i got those again you know hey y'all y'all still got a pair oh okay and i was hoping to get the paid in full pair yeah the paid in full pair but they never released or it got pushed

back or pulled or something like that i think they went through so many names i was calling them the gucci pair for one time and then they went to the paid in full and then it just never it never happened there's still some pairs out there which i i never understand how that happens but yeah there's there's some people who got them you know they're on the market somewhere,

Maybe I'll get those one day. Well, that kind of actually transitions nicely into the, are there any pairs you're still on the hunt for? Like anything that maybe you haven't picked out? Like, you know, anything you sold and you wish you kept or anything that you'd passed on that you wish you hadn't had at the time? The only pair I've ever sold was recently was the GOAT dunks that I got for $350 that, again, was an all-black shoe. And I was just like, you know, it's not worth $350.

I'm actually like $374 because they actually charge you fees for that. And I'm like, bro, y'all released it on y'all site. Why am I getting charged seller fees? Or, you know, so I'm like, that's crazy. But things I'm looking for, I need the Air Force Taxi Fusion. I need that. I need that. Again, that was that pair that I seen my brother with that I wanted. So that's just a nostalgic feeling.

I need to finish the Ben collection. I need the Ben 13s, I need a 9s, a couple countdown packs that I need. Just really reaching back into what I've seen as I was going through when I really got into sneakers and started looking back. I'm like, oh man, I need this pair. I need that pair. I need a backflip threes, a whiteflip threes, and stealth threes. The list goes on. But a pair that I truly, that I've really been looking hard for is, unfortunately, after the passing of Kobe, they went crazy.

The Dark Frogs, Kobe's, and the Cheetah Pair. I've been for years in the 2K14 LeBrons. They were all red with the Cheetah Print. Yeah. I've been trying to find a good deal on those three pair for years, for years, and to this day, still looking. And I was like, I was able to get a good price on my, my bins. I got those for under, under 400. So. That's a great price. Yeah. Yeah. The seven. Yeah. I was like, yeah, I was like, yo.

I was, as soon as I seen them, I didn't even fully look through all the pitches. I'm just like, oh, that's good, that's good, that's good. It's not separating. Click, bye. And I was just hoping, hoping dudes, like, didn't, like, count them. That's a great price. Yeah. Yeah. I think I paid, because I had them, I think I paid, like, $600, $600 or $700 for them. So, damn, four. Under four? Was under four? Yeah. Crazy. Yeah. Yeah. And in good condition, man. I didn't get no box, but I didn't care.

Yeah, I didn't get a box either. Still. Yeah. You got to see, I didn't care about the box either. I got the shoe trees and a dust bag. Yeah, that's... But yeah, I paid like, yeah, almost seven for those. Like, damn. Four? Oh, shit. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, and I was like, yeah, I got to get these other pairs like that because all them other pairs are like sitting at crazy insane prices. Yeah. Yeah, the prices, I tried to complete that pack as well. I had the sevens. I had the fives.

Fives. I had the twos. Yeah, the twos. The twos. Was another one. And then yeah, I'm missing the 13 and the 9s. Well, yeah, the prices are just crazy. They're like insane on those for them, but the quality is just nuts. Yeah, it's just nuts, man. Super dope, but yeah, that Ben pair is nice. And that's another one too, you don't got to worry about the crumbling. Just a Regal. You're good to go. Yeah, definitely, I take care of my old Benies. I love that pair, man.

Quality is crazy. Quality, no, I think those things is, like I said, the quality is just nuts from those pairs. And then, obviously you have a podcast, Soul Brothers Podcast, but talk to me a little bit about how you met Morgan. Did you guys meet on TikTok? Absolutely. I always felt like I had a different collection from others, because I had all types of Nike Blazers, I had Kamikaze, I had LeBron's, I had Jordan 1 mids, so I always felt like,

I had stuff that other people didn't have. So Morgan felt the same way. So he hopped on TikTok and was like, hey, I can guarantee you I have the most diverse collection on TikTok. And I knew I didn't have the best TikTok. I knew I didn't have the best collection and I knew I didn't have the larger collection. But I was like, you know what? Diverse is a title that I might can take. So I'm like, let's go for it.

And that's pretty much how we started, man. and a lot of people love that back and forth between us because he'll pull out something people ain't seen before, people forgot about, and I'll pull out something. And we were just going with themes and movies and any, you know. That our collections, you know, that large that we could just like, all right, pick something that's got something to do with food or your favorite animation movie or your favorite sport or somebody from the Bulls team.

Like just anything we could think of just obscured and you know we're like pick it let's do this and that's where it started that's where we you know and at first it was kind of like it was real it was kind of like going to each other and then was like you know what this is fun and we're getting a lot of views from it we get a lot of no traction a lot of people engagement and so we just kept it going and there was times that I would pull out a pair that I know that

he's gonna pull out something way better but i was like you know what people are gonna love this and it just goes along with it and there was times when people would hit us up and be like are y'all serious like are y'all gonna fight one day or it was it was crazy i'm like nah bro we're good we'll have to sometimes get in the comments like nah bro we're cool like it's all good because people like insult him or insult me like i'm team flex i'm team morgan you know flex don't

know what he's talking about man his collection ain't all that or they'd be like morgan don't know what he's talking about man he grew up with a civil spoon man just don't worry about him it was just you know. And then that's that's pretty much where we start. We've never met in person. And when we tell people that, they're always like, y'all have never met in person. Like, I can never tell because it's just how, you know, the chemistry.

And we took that that tick tock. And that's what we put into our podcast. And that's just how it is today. Just that back and forth, you know.

Meeting Morgan and TikTok

That even though it's genuine, it's it's a lot of is, you know, a personality.

A lot of it you know the flex personality the morgan sneaker room personality you know in real life it wouldn't be like that and then in real life it would be but not just not to the extreme where we just joke after joke you know i'm picking on you you're picking on me i'll make fun of what you just said i'll make fun of the pair that you brought out today so but yeah that's was it from the last episode tax invasion yeah tax invasion yeah like see stuff like that man like like stuff like

that i feel like in an actual conversation if i'm i'm looking at someone face to face there's gonna be like all right bro i don't want to talk to you no more you know it's just like i don't even want to talk to you no more but like me and morgan doing it it's just like all right come on let's just keep it let's keep it going let's i'm gonna roll with the punches and i just get my thought across or i get them back later like yeah man those are boring why did you bring those out so

well i i love i i'm i'm personally always curious because like i don't know what sneaker tiktok is like like so i'm always interested that that's how you guys met so i would assume it's more like videos and stuff like that right like yeah yeah yeah yeah sneaker tiktok is i mean pretty much like i would say sneaker tiktok was more welcoming from like any other like when you get instagram you get twitter it was more easier to kind of navigate in you know Because people are more open to you.

I feel like there's a lot of heavy hitters and all these other platforms that if you're not connected with them or somewhat intertwined with them, it's kind of like, who are you and why are you here? But with TikTok, it was like, yo, look what he got. He's got this pair. This person has this pair. Come on in. Let's sit down and talk. And that's how I feel it was with TikTok. That's why you would see those different personalities, different walks of life, all mixed into one older, younger.

I mean, that was the fun about what it was fun about, sneaker TikTok, because it really didn't matter. You could, like, moves, I mean... Dude's like 14 and he's in a room with, you know, people that's been collecting 20, 30 years and everybody listening to him talk about his period. He just picked up. That's just how it was. But now, you know, you get on Instagram or Twitter. They're gonna be like, all right, so who's this guy? And why,

you know, why is he why is he talking? You know, he's he started collecting in what year? 2020. Get him out of here. And so, yeah. No, that's cool. And like, I still think it's crazy.

So you guys still haven't met yet. Right. and that will change I'm assuming at Morgan's wedding yes yes hopefully hopefully when Morgan gets married we're there I was hoping we could fit fit in our tennis match that's always been our goal that's always what we talk about is our tennis match between me and him because he just swears he he's just gonna walk the dogs on me and I'm just like bro absolutely not there's no way.

There's no way I'm gonna let you just walk the dogs on me like I'm gonna put up a fight and it's gonna be a good one but yeah context Rich I think you missed this at the beginning but morgan teaches tennis for a living so yeah i really do think you need to live stream that like i really do think you need to live that that that is that that's that's our plan we definitely want to live stream it because that that's like a full circle moment for the people that's followed us from

tiktok or the people that's like followed us from my podcast because that's what we've always talked about like all right we're gonna see one day we're gonna see one day so you know hopefully we can get that done this year hopefully that's what that's our plan definitely on our our to-do list you guys have great chemistry together especially for two people who've like never never met face to face like you know there's five of us and we've all known each other for years right somewhere

between uh no gotta be more than that six seven eight nine ten years depending on who in the group right so like we've had chemistry from from years and just chatting sort of thing right but like for you to be able to have that chemistry just and like i know TikTok's a little bit different than what you would just see on like Instagram because it's more of just like a still image where you know there's more of like a moving video sort of thing right.

On tiktok but no the chemistry is great and like i'm just i'm always so interested about that when you guys are like talking about tiktok because i'm like i just i'm not on tiktok so i don't makes me feel really old when i say that but now i'm like i've got too many social medias i can't learn this new one um but yeah like it i like i think it's super interesting when you guys talk about that because i like you know when you see tiktok and you just

assume that it's like these 14 year olds that are doing these funny dances to like a little like whatever a little popular song or jingle or whatever it is right but it's like it's it's like anything right you know like blue sky has been the the new one that's come out right and it's like yeah is there a sneaker like is there a sneaker audience there that i should be looking to tap into sort of thing like it's it's i always find that super interesting so yeah man

thinking about another platform even with sneakers is exhausting you should look another platform and how about sneakers i gotta start all over again no so like i haven't even made a blue sky i haven't even got to that door yet i'm yeah keep it shut for now like it is like it's it's a whole new like exactly you've got to build it up like yeah you spent all that time on tiktok doing that or whatever and like yeah maybe i it's i

think it's good you guys are good now right like it's back in the states it's yeah running yeah yeah Yeah. But I mean, we really, really don't meet nor me or Morgan really gets on TikTok anymore. Yeah. It's just, you know.

It changed and we just it is what it is and we kind of transitioned over to like instagram, with our podcast instagram and you know podcast on instagram youtube and we i recently just put us on twitter so we've been trying to navigate through twitter now you know it's a little harder you know gotta you gotta put your gloves on put your your protective gear on when you hop on twitter so yeah i'm treading softly you know i'm just every now and then i'll pop out you know,

but other than that you know we're just chilling watching from a distance.

Love it man and i wanted to touch on the tiktok thing because i just i personally find that very interesting and like i just don't know a lot about it so like i love to hear that that like that's kind of how you met and that's like you're going basically one one v one like every whatever it is every day or every week and you're like oh you don't have this like and i love that what did you say i have the most unique or sorry diverse diverse yeah yeah yeah i love

that that term because i think that's super cool right because everyone's like oh i've got the most pairs or i have the whatever it is right like diverse and such i love that i think that's super cool yeah man we knew there was so many other man there's so many collectors out there were insane collections we we knew we had to come up with something different it couldn't be the largest it couldn't be the best. It couldn't. It just had to be different. It was like most diverse.

Yeah. All right. That's a new term. Let's try that. Let's try that. Yeah. That's what we went with. I love that. And you guys are just, you guys just passed the year mark on your podcast. So congratulations. I think you're at 50. What did we say? It was 54, 55 episodes? This one dropping, the one dropping Friday, Thursday night, Friday morning will be 60 I believe. Okay. So yeah. So when this When this comes out, you'll have 60 episodes published. So congratulations.

That's huge. Big accomplishment. Not easy to do? It's not. It's not, man. It's not. It's not. I used to be like, when people would be like, just see if you can get past 25 episodes. If you get past 25 episodes, keep doing it. If you can't get past 25 episodes, wrap it up, man. Just, you know, find something else you want to do in life. Anything, like, what's the vision for the podcast long term? Right?

Long term? I mean, I feel like we're both passionate about sneakers and talking about sneakers. Morgan has always been very vocal about like him being comfortable in his career, which is teaching tennis. So. End goal is to be able to do it full time, being our primary source of income. But, you know, if it doesn't become that, it's cool. But that is the end goal, because like I said, he's happy with what he's doing. And I always tell him, like, I don't like my job.

So I always tell him, man, you know, that is that's lucky. That is that's a gym. If you find something, if you find a job that you love waking up in the morning, I have I'm not going to fight you to let that go. Like, I'm not going to like, no, man, let's do this. Just drop everything. And let's do the podcast. Like, no, absolutely not. So, I mean, on the most part, I do do like the editing and stuff like that. And I have, you know, like I always say, Morgan's the talent.

Like, man, you know, show up and, you know, get us our wins and we good. You know, I take care of the rest. But we definitely, like, we definitely want to do a lot of networking, connecting this year, getting out to events and stuff. One of the first events that we want to go to is the Black Footwear Forum that we want to get out to. And then we want to go to ComplexCon and just get out there and network and

really get with people and talk with them. I mean, you know, put a face in front of the Soul Brothers podcast, man, because the. We want to see what everybody's energy is like, you know, outside of the podcast, you know, you know, there's a lot of people that you you can't really meet on the Internet that you might, you know, run into a complex con or or one of these events.

So, you know, and then Haas challenged us, you know, he said he said, if you if you ain't outside, you really want to do this for real. So I'm like, all right, we outside. I heard that challenge. I was like, hmm, interesting. Yeah, that's I heard him loud and clear on that one.

Yeah it's because yeah like i mean even hoss like you know same thing right like you know i've noticed him going to complex on the last couple years and it looks like he's made amazing connections by going there and just being in the same room with some of these people so yeah yeah he's been killing it yeah absolutely and for and for anyone who hasn't listened to your podcast like i've mentioned a few times well so what's the format look like what can they expect when they uh

when they listen to an episode from you guys um you're gonna get in a few you're gonna get a lesson you going to learn some stuff you need some knowledge dropping but you're definitely going to get you a good laugh and it's going to be authentic it's not going to feel forced even though you're laughing it's not like a punch line like it's not it's not a ha got you type of podcast it's authentic like it happens if we see something it's

kind of like we just you know we feel off each other energies you know and the jokes come from each other like if he hear me say something wrong i already know it's coming like I already know it when I said it like here we go go ahead go ahead get get it go ahead and get your joke off get your clip whatever go ahead you know but yeah man you you there for a good time man what I try to do my goal is to keep people listening you know before time

from beginning to end I don't want people to kind of like go out and do those off and come back oh I'm still listen to the podcast you know um so i try to keep keep you listening you know so.

That's that's the goal keep you listening i love that like it's yeah it's it's hard right like i mean people have busy lives like i mean like i mentioned many times before i drive for work right so i have all the time in the world to listen to things when i'm in the car right but that's not the case for a lot of people right like i know rich has to commute to and from work like i mean it's not a super far commute but like you know you've got what 45 minutes in the car maybe each way yeah 40

minutes to an hour yeah uh like where i have like i'm in the car all day right like i'm driving to and from different locations so i might have three to four hours of listening time in the car right so it's different for everyone and you've got to keep everyone engaged and entertained and i think with the podcast at work it's always the people who are who are on it that keep you engaged right so yeah if you're not entertaining like it it gets dry very very quickly.

There's been podcasts that I've tried to listen to, or even outside of sneakers, just anything, right? Sometimes people who are on there just aren't very entertaining, right? Like I try and listen to a lot of sports podcasts too. Like, you know, most of your like AM radio, sports talk shows sort of thing, right? A lot of times they release their shows in a podcast form, right?

So some of those I'll try and like tap into every once in a while, but some of the hosts sometimes are just so dry and boring to listen to that. It's like, I can't keep listening to this. Like, I just, I don't want to hear you talk sort of thing. Right. So, and then the conversation too, right. Like from when I started listening to you guys, like, you know, 40 episodes ago or something like that. Right. I always thought the conversation between you guys was really good.

You would never know that the two of you have never met per se, but that like that, that keeps it going. Right. And the, the, the last episode that you guys put out at time of recording was the five for five. Yeah. I think that's fantastic. Like, I think that's a great segment to kind of go and rich in case you haven't heard it five for five. So basically they're going five pairs and they're talking about their stories behind the pairs.

Like, I think that's super, super cool because it's like I love podcasts like that because it's like we have all sorts of different shows that talk about the news. We all know the breads are coming out and, you know, we've we've talked to we talked about the breads on this podcast. We talked about it, you know, in our last episode, we talked about it. But I love hearing stuff like that, where it's like, yo, like I got this pair, like this is how I got this pair.

Like this is the story behind it. I think that's super cool. Like that's the kind of stuff I want to be just aimlessly listening to as I'm driving along on my day. Right. So. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Nah, that's in that. And that's what, that's what, that's what we try to, we try to avoid talking about the same thing. And I mean, cause even from a host standpoint, I'm pretty sure you guys can relate. You can get burnt out, burnt out yourself.

Like talking about the same things, like, we talked about this last week or we talked about it. We've been talking about this is like, yeah, like I don't think anyone to hear this no more. You start questioning yourself. So I was like, you know, we got to keep it refreshing for ourselves to want to hop in front of the screen and record. Cause I mean.

Making content getting in front of the camera it can be draining you know and if you're not getting compensated for it it's kind of like yeah it's easy to skip like ah we can skip this week you know we ain't got nothing to talk about this let's skip this week you know we'll we get back to it you know when i try to just keep you know keep us both involved like oh let's talk about this this week let's let's not talk about the breads let's

not talk about the metallic files that drop because i'm pretty sure everybody's going to do that we're not going to talk about what released this week or what didn't release this week you know this is let's give them a five for five let's let's do that it's something they haven't heard we know they haven't heard because it's our personal story so yeah yeah and we've all got kind of different segments with that like ours is this or that that we do we just kind of introduce

our what if segment you know different things that are just kind of like some of them are newer topics and some of them are maybe not newer topics right because one of those five for fives could be a new sneaker that you picked up sort of thing or whatever the case is but like i like that i enjoy just listening to people talk about sneakers it doesn't have to be i don't necessarily want to hear the same news talked about over yeah and obviously you

do want to hear that like you want to hear some kind of conversation about what's new in the news but i also like the conversation where it's like it's just a conversation yeah just we're just talking about sneakers right we're talking as if rich and i were in the parking lot or flex ui and rich were in a parking lot you know chatting it.

Up for an hour right because we did a sneaker drop off or whatever the case is right and the consistency piece is is you know like you know lots of people who have done podcasts and just you know life gets in the way i totally understand right but you know the consistency life is it's it's it's really key because it's like some of those podcasts you're like damn i really like that like i like what they were doing i i wish they were still doing their podcast when yeah when

we started we talked about like rich and i specifically talked about this like it's got to be consistent like we've gotta what did we say we wanted to do rich one episode every week for a year or two years was it yeah and like we hit that and you know we even had we had some weeks where we had double episodes like we had two episodes coming out in a week right so i think i like i said earlier flex i think we've only missed like four or five maybe five or maybe five weeks where there hasn't been

an episode excluding the week between christmas and new years we just take that as i think planned it's been less yeah less than two months worth of episodes i think in the last what how long we run at the pod now what year four and four years just four years yeah four years yeah so we've been pretty consistent with what we put out so like like trev said consistency is key right like things come and go as we know covid came and everybody named mama was doing podcasts and you

know it's you know the people who are consistent with it typically the ones who kind of. Last. So for us, that was always important. It's just consistency, man. And we're at a point now where people are just like, I know every week these guys are throwing out a new episode. And then for us, that's great. Just to kind of, you get that following and people that are looking forward to that Monday morning and that episode for whatever they may be working out, on the drive, whatever it may be.

So for us, it's like, yeah, that's always feel for us to kind of continue to do what we're doing. People are looking forward to those.

Absolutely i definitely agree with that that's just like that paycheck without a paycheck you know it's it's not money but it fulfills like it like it is you know like okay i know this person is looking forward to hearing us talk about this it's like all right let's man let's make this happen let's get this get in front of screen press record and you know let our listeners hear us you know because that's what they want yeah i love seeing the numbers so you know when they come

in like people are listening i'm like that's dope i love that yeah i love to see that yeah yeah yeah i always i'm always chicken and you know i mean i and i share with like people that follow me i share like hey even i know it's not a big number to other podcasts i'm like yo this is big to us because we started at zero so like us getting 50 in a week is like hey we got 50 in a week we used to get 50 in a month you just get 50 every two months so it's like that's that's you know that's big

for us you know so i'm celebrating with you guys because it's big for us you know yeah oh yeah, oh yeah all way progress progress and progress yeah progress and progress so you look at it.

So yeah and coming up in the near future kind of in the like what can we expect to see from you guys coming up let's say maybe in the i know you talk about like long-term visions but what can we expect to see from you guys kind of in the next year or so biggest biggest biggest biggest we We've been making connections and, you know, getting in some, you know, some rooms. So some big guests, you're going to see a lot more of us on other platforms as, you know, you see us now.

They're connecting. So we're definitely trying to, like I said, our biggest thing is networking. You know, we're not really looking for numbers. We're not really looking for, you know, recognition. It's more of just networking and collaborating with people and kind of getting our name out there further than what we already have. But, yeah, we got some big ass lined up that we hope that we can share and, you know, people enjoy, you know.

Gain even more traction. That's great. If you haven't checked out the podcast, you check out the podcast because they've got some big guests on. I know you guys were, you guys were just recently guests on the, the sneaker history podcast. So we just had Mike on maybe three or four weeks ago and we had, and Klaus was on obviously as well with you guys who we had on maybe two months ago or so. Shout out to my first kicks and Mike from the sneaker history, man. Shout out.

We come, we always, We do a lot of episodes on a Sneaker History podcast. And Mike just recently got on, like you said, got on our podcast. We just had Haas on. But yeah, I mean, I'm glad you spoke on that because I don't want to say like we haven't had big guests on because we had some great people on. We had Matt on, J-Tips on, AD Sneak itself. But just, you know, we're having more people on. And there's a reason why we

go back and have like these people on a second time. is because we didn't have any many listeners we do now back then. So I feel like, you know, I mean, they're already, these are people with huge following. So like, but not on, we haven't, they haven't heard them on our platform. So we, you know, kind of go back and our audio is a little better now.

Our quality is a little better. So I'm like, okay, this is a more, we'll put together podcast now, come back and let us, you know, let's talk sneakers again. So yeah, you know, you'll see a lot of repeats too. You'll see a lot of people that we've had on before.

You might see it on episode 5 or 6 that's on episode 66 because you know it's better formatted and a lot of these people you know they're following Gru you know they started when we you know we first had them on they had like maybe 2k now they're like 20k or now they're 30k so like You know, it's introducing them again to our our new following and introducing us to their new following.

And then, you know, just to catch up, because a lot of people are doing different things, you know, getting opportunities now, growing and within the industry and stuff. So, you know, it's great to come back and talk because, you know, it's kind of like a flashback or a look back. It's funny you mentioned that. So you mentioned Andy 80 sneaks, right? So we had him on our podcast as well. And we had him on episode 216. I think we had him on something in the 70s.

I can't remember exactly when, but we had him on somewhere in the 70s. And then just exactly as you talked about, like we had him on, he was still pretty big at that time, but just, you know, time passes, you know, you just keep progressing with the podcast. And I think we had him on in the 70s and then we had him on like 15 or 20 episodes after that. And then we had him on beginning of December, so maybe two or three months ago.

Podcast Growth and Future Plans

And it was the same thing. It was like, I don't know why we haven't tapped back in earlier.

Like it just kind of we just kept moving and it's the same thing you talk about it's like when we had him on i i can't remember what he was it was that probably like 40 000 followers or something like that but he's at like 300 or 400 000 now and it's like you know like you've completely blown up like this is like you know yeah it's crazy he's like whoa okay yeah exactly so it's fun to tap back in with those people too and like yeah like i

said you've had those great guess we talked about miller earlier as well so and the audio always like you know every there's always that learning curve when you first start once you get once you get it down it's like yeah that's awesome and then just to kind of cap it off here what advice do you have for any aspiring podcasters or content creators don't worry about the numbers consistency like you like we've been talking about staying consistent man that that is it because if it

doesn't happen now it'll happen later and if you don't do it you're still gonna look back and be like dang if i would have did this two years ago, I'll be here in two years. You know what I'm saying? So Don't wait. Just go ahead and do it. Go ahead and get those 50 episodes out. Don't wait two years later. Oh, we got 50 episodes out and like y'all blew up. Y'all blew up after 50 episodes. If you would have did it two years ago, you would have blew up two years ago, you know.

So stay consistent, you know, and do your thing. And most of all, enjoy it. That's the biggest thing. Enjoy it. Like if you're not enjoying it, don't do it because then, you know, it becomes a job and you're not enjoying it. Then you're just stuck to where you were trying to get away from doing something you didn't love.

Advice for Aspiring Podcasters

So enjoy and be consistent great advice great advice yeah i'm sure you guys had the same thing right i don't know how long it was before you decided but we we started doing this and we recorded our first episodes in like end of 2020 so it came out 2021 yeah someone had suggested to us doing a podcast in 2015 i think it was 2014 or 2015 and all of us as a group had been like oh no that's we don't want to do that no no there's no way we do that and then

time progresses five or six years and you're like oh where would we have been if we started earlier so yeah yeah yeah it's exactly that yeah it's just about starting right you got to start you got to start from somewhere the numbers are going to be small when you start but you'll slowly progress you'll slowly start having people on and that'll bring the eyes to your podcast you know and they'll like you know they'll like or maybe not like your format but

you'll have eyes that'll come to your podcast and they'll start to listen and you know you go from there right yeah and the best thing is you're going to do this anyways. You know what I mean? You're still going to talk about sneakers anyway. I mean, if you still love sneakers, you're going to still buy them. So it's like, I was going to do this anyway. So if this stopped today, Rich would still be calling me and we would be talking about some of the stuff we talked about today. Of course.

I'm still going to buy my sneakers. So, wow. Absolutely. So, exactly. Now, Flex, we really appreciate you jumping on with us. Like I said, on the podcast for the last year or so. So I'm definitely excited to get you on And then wanted to start connecting with a lot of other podcasters because I started listening to all these podcasts. And I'm like, I need to get these guys on here. Like, we need to get these guys on our podcast.

So I appreciate you taking the time. And Morgan, you're next to come on here. And we're definitely going to have you guys do a takeover episode later in the year. Hell yeah. I love it. I love it, man. I have no problem with it, man. Anything you guys need from us as a collective or individual, just share this up, man. If you, you know, y'all see something like, hey, man, how did you do that? Hit me up, man. I have no problem. No problem like this is what I did.

Send you a link. That's how you do it. I have no problem doing that, man. I appreciate that, man. Do we have any shout outs? Just shout out to you. I usually always shout out our guests that come through. So appreciate you, man, chopping it up. Like I said, this was created for us to be able to tap with individuals and just hear everybody's personal story journey. It's always exciting, you know, hearing people. You know, what got people into shoes, what was that shoe.

And I think this is my favorite part about the podcast is just kind of tapping in and just hearing all these different things and people who lived in different spaces and stuff like that. So appreciate you, man. And then for us, yo, you guys need us on the pod, man, definitely reach out and, you know, we'd love to come on and chop it up with you guys. So I think that's also what it's about is, you know, just networking and sharing that and promoting one another.

So yeah, feel free to tap in with the team.

There's five of us so um yeah you guys need guests five baked in episodes all ready to go okay i like it i like it we're we're definitely definitely down to come and chop it up man but no i appreciate you man appreciate you this was fun this was fun so thank you i said before you jumped on richett all podcasts kind of have a venn diet i think it's a venn diagram where it's got the two circles and there's the middle that overlaps there i believe it's called

so there's you know the soul brothers podcast is the in kicks we trust podcast soul brothers listeners may not listen to kicks we trust and in kicks we trust may not listen to others so that's what this is about right like we want you to get you on like you know introduce you to the to who listens to us and you know that's also the idea of the takeover episodes right like we want to give other creators our platform to introduce kind of their podcast or whatever it is they're doing

to our listeners and that's what it's about i think that's the most important piece is that you know we're all here to, like I said, further promote one another. We have a commonality which is sneakers and there should be no reason that we can't collaborate and work together to further push this thing forward. I mean, I think that's always our thought process is just like I said, working together and getting this thing going, you know, for generation to generation man. So.

Agreed. Agreed, man. I mean, even though we probably all have different end goals, we're gonna be in the same room one day.

Somewhere within those paths, we're gonna be in the same room of course so my you know like we'll go ahead and build this connection now so if you see me over here i see you over there like hey you know help me out over here i can help you out over there so yes sir that's all it's about man but um i mean shout out you guys man even though you see those numbers you really don't think anybody's listening so like when someone tells you like i listen it's kind of like oh for real

even though you see those numbers you see people listening you see people commenting retweeting reposting you never really feel like anyone's listening today tell you like oh I like when you said this so I like this episode so you know appreciate you guys tuning in to what me and Morgan do and reaching out to you know have us on each other's uh podcast because you know as a as you guys are hosts and I'm a host for I know what you look for when you're picking someone you like,

You know, you don't want to pick someone that you wouldn't want to have a conversation with. You know, let's be honest. So, you know, that means you guys want to have me on have a conversation, you know, talk sneakers. So shout out to you guys. That's the battery in my bag, man.

Collaboration and Community in Podcasting

There you go. You know what? I'm going to leave it there. My shout out can wait till next week. So I'm going to leave it at that because we appreciate that, man. Like it's yeah, it's love your format. Love what you do.

And like we definitely just want it to happen with people. like i said like this year it's kind of like okay like i want to get all these people on like i'm listening to these people in the car like and like and no fault of anyone's but like you know where where it's like you're talking about other podcasts i'm like they need to see in kicks we trust they need to say kicks we trust right so i'm like okay these guys got to be on our podcast like that's my like i've been just checking

guys off the uh like the beginning of this year yeah okay i need to get these guys on and we need to tap in with these people so hey man done deal man you you you had to go oh you reached it you set out and you got it because i mean now i you know and like as you said it's no fault to you guys that i i didn't know of your podcast it's just there's so many like i like i was talking so many podcasts so many sneaker podcasts i'm always finding out there's so many people that

have shoe or shoes or sneaker or sneakers or sole and soles or foot and foots yeah feet be like it there's i mean there's 10 to have sneakers there's 10 to have shoes there's 10 to have feet there's 10 to have kicks it's just like you know and i'm just listening because i mean i build my ideas and our format and what i want to try off other people you know not really stealing their ideas it's more of just like oh i would like to do something

like that you know that's cool i like what they do there you know let's try it on ours just add our little soul brothers twist to it because i like your idea of the takeover i think that's just pretty dope you know, kind of having people hop on your platform and have their own little episode. I think that's just dope. That's a cool idea, which I would have thought of at first. And you know what? Like, it's different.

It's one of those different ideas, right? Like, it's just, you know, like, it gives everyone a chance to kind of, within our podcast. So, like, again, usually we just ask, you start with where's in pickups, which most podcasts start with some kind of variation of it. You might call it something different, but, you know. Yeah, what's on feed or pick up, rocking and copping, you know. Yeah, exactly, right? You might call it something different,

but, you know, you're doing that. And then we just ask you to do shout outs at the end. Whatever you want to do in the middle is up to you, but this is our platform for you to kind of talk up what you do. And, you know, we like to call it doing like a little mini episode of what your podcast would look like. Right. So, yeah, yeah. Look for, I look forward to, you know, the soul brothers, uh, take over episode. Yeah. So we'll make sure we'll make sure we, we tap in with Morgan soon so we
