In this episode, Ms. Timika Simmons - Chief Executive Officer of TOMAGWA HealthCare Ministries, shares her story of tapping into super strength to overcome various levels of adversity to fulfill her greater purpose of helping so many others! She talks about how childhood trauma, teen pregnancy, and faith ultimately prepared her for success.

Ms. Simmons has been the CEO of TOMAGWA since 2019. TOMAGWA is Texas Based Christian Organization, that for more than 30 years provides healthcare services to uninsured and low income families and individuals in the 600 square mile radius of Harris, Montgomery, and Waller Counties. She has been in the health care administration business for more than 20 years.

Ms. Simmons is a native Houstonian who grew up in the underserved community of Acres Homes in northwest Houston. She is a graduate of Lone Star Community College and the University of Houston – Downtown and is currently pursuing graduate studies at Louisiana State University in Healthcare Administration. Ms. Simmons resides in northwest Harris County along with her three daughters.
