Episode description

In this episode, Jake Wood shares stories from his latest book,
Once A Warrior -How One Veteran Found a New Mission Closer to Home. He talks about the early stages of Team Rubicon. He discusses our desire as humans to uplift each other in times of need. He also points out how Team Rubicon provides a new community, new mission and a renewed sense of purpose for our veterans returning to civilian life.

Jake Wood is Co-Founder and CEO of Team Rubicon, one of the most recognizable non-profit organizations in America with over 125,000 volunteers. It leverages the skills of military veterans and first responders to provide relief during disasters in the United States and around the globe.

Jake Wood and William McNulty, two former Marines established Team Rubicon in January 2010 after the massive earthquake in Haiti. They led a small crew of veterans, and medical professionals with a focus on providing aid to victims of the disaster. Since then, the organization has responded to hurricanes, pandemics, earthquakes, and many other situations where humans are in need.
