The Gift of Presence

 At Christmas, we celebrate the joy of knowing that God came to be with us in Jesus. What we tend to look over, though, is the joy that God must have had when he was able to be among his children again. The beautiful relationship he always intended for us no longer needed mediators and second-hand accounts. It was now face-to-face, just like he always wanted it to be. And the priority God that placed on being personally present with his people will change the way we think about our presence with others.
