Too many people throughout history have shared this experience: being subject to someone else's wishes against their will. This is the definition of oppression. Whatever form and to whatever degree oppression exists, that is the degree to which the Kingdom of God is not being realized. Into these situations, God restores us to what it means to be truly human and invites us to take up our role in helping others drop the chains of oppression.
