Join Tin and Christy as they have a conversation with Anne Schauman from the Alternative Center for Education. Their mission is to provide educational services to individuals with learning differences. They strive to equip these individuals with the academic, social, and emotional skills needed to succeed in school, at wor,k and in the community. Their goal is to diagnose specific learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia) and treat these disorders as well as the learning problems associated with other conditions (autism spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, etc.) by administering formal diagnostic assessments, utilizing research-based instructional methods and assistive technology, and teaching clients social skills and self-advocacy as they transition into higher level education, employment, and/or community.
