While William "Paul" Young's story is compelling, many Christians are struggling with the underlying theological implications of The Shack, and that's good—because we need to be discerning in every area of our lives. Biblical discernment is not optional for the Believer—it is imperative! Join me today as I talk about five ways you can learn to become a Berean, and teach your children to do the same. Listen in!
As a woman who has struggled square suffering with the goodness of God, The Shack touched my heart. William "Paul" Young did a great job of showing the grace and love of God—His heart for a hurting and lost world. That said, I could never recommend the book or the movie to anyone unless I was prepared to have the conversation I'm having with you today on the podcast. Listen in!
I received an email a few days ago from a very upset mom. Her 10-yr old child (a boy) had been caught viewing porn. Listen in as I talk with another seasoned mom about how to handle a situation like this and why parent should never run from such an important discussion.

I've been getting a lot of requests lately to talk about the issue of vaccination. Honestly? I am avoiding you folks :) because all seven of our kids are vaccinated. However! I have dear friends who disagree with me on this issue. One of them is on the podcast with me today. Join me as we talk about why I think that while it's important to talk about things like vaccines, issues like this should never divide friends. Listen in!
A child’s first lessons about their bodies—everything from their appearance to what God says about human sexuality—come from their parents. The messages we give them early in life have a deep, long-lasting impact on how they will see themselves as adults. So where do we start? How do we pass on a godly perspective of sexuality and beauty to our kids? As in every other area of life, we start at the starting place: the Bible. We dare not trust human wisdom where these tender topics are concerned....
The modern church is facing a crisis of belief. Do we really believe that the message of the Gospel is enough? Do we really believe that God is big enough to push through the cultural fog and invade the hearts of men and women today? What good is an entertaining church service that fails to entertain the questions that this generation is asking? What good is it if we can’t articulate compassion and truth in a way that clearly addresses the message of the cross? The cross is hope. …and hope does ...
Do you sometimes wonder how to pray or are you unfamiliar with the Word of God? Writing the Scriptures and learning to personalize them as an example of how to pray is an excellent tool. You're not alone if you struggle to find the words to pray, but we see many people in the Bible who have gone before us and show us examples, so we don't have to stay confused. Join me today as I discuss how I apply these two spiritual disciplines in the life of my family.

I'm not gonna lie: yesterday was the BEST Valentine's Day I have ever had—and you know what? It was simple. Just me and my man, eating chicken in the back of the mini-van. Yes, we forgot to pack silverware and ended up eating our dinner with the help of Jay's Leatherman knife, but that didn't dampen our fun at all. The point wasn't that it was glamorous, the point was that it was intentional. Join me today as I spend a little more time talking about sex and marriage and why we need to keep havin...

The role of women seems to be misunderstood in our culture in a fairly grievous way. We're told that a wise woman builds her home. Today I'm talking about what that looks like (and what it doesn't look like). Homes are the foundation on which our society is built, and we have an opportunity to be the voice of Jesus to a generation who has lost its way. Join me, and let's start building!

It's so tempting to push off that hint or snuggle from our husband at the end of a long tiring day, and get distracted by the laundry we need to switch and the clothes that need folded (right in the middle of our bed), right? But God' designed sex for our GOOD! which means it's worth prioritizing. In this three part series, we're talking about God's design, his needs, her needs, and more!

It's counter-cultural to put our marriage first, yet that's exactly what God wants us to do - even when we have kids - and there are some specific reasons God designed it this way that really are for our good.
We are frequently asked some questions about the number of kids we have, why we had so many, how old we were, and the big one: what we think about birth control. And I'm here to say that I won't tell you! But I do have a lot to say about it having babies and what the Lord says about children, so listen in today.
It takes a lot of work to train our children, and while we spend a lot of our time and mental energy focusing on it, there is a point where we can forget whose job it really is to save our kids. We can wear ourselves out and forget that God is mighty to save, and it's His job to begin with! So relax, Mom. Do your best in training and remember that our great God created your children for His glory. HE is mighty to save! He's good like that. :)
