Underserved communities, often minority communities are disproportionately affected by chronic diseases related to lifestyle. In this episode, I speak with Dr. Dexter Shurney. Dexter Shurney, MD, MBA, MPH, FACLM, DipABLM, is Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Community Wellbeing and the Blue Zones Institute for Adventist Health, a faith-based, nonprofit integrated health system serving more than 80 communities on the West Coast and Hawaii. Dr. Shurney is ACLM’s immediate past president and continues to serve as a board member and leader of the organization’s work to address health disparities.
