I’m just about the have a mastectomy with reconstruction and I wanted to try and give you an idea of what to expect if you’re in the same boat or what to expect if you’re supporting someone with breast cancer, by talking about my journey so far. I’m Gemma, I’m 37 and this is my second time with breast cancer... same breast. Based in the UK, I’m having my operation through the NHS but I expect the info will be valuable for you, regardless of where you are in the world 😁 I’ll continue to post about my recovery too but don’t compare your journey to mine!! We are all unique.
