The original Evil Dead is considered a genre maker in terms of horror films. Thanks to Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell Evil Dead created (and disrupted) many of the tropes of the horror genre. It’s influence is felt in the films of the Coen brothers, Peter Jackson, and Edgar Wright. It is campy without being bad. It's disgusting, hilarious, and a film that will make you jump.
