Welcome to the Greatest, a production of I Heart Radio. Welcome to another episode of the Greatest. I'm Megan Gaily and I'm joined by c J. Toladano. Um. Who I want to talk? Yeah, I was gonna say hi, I just you sounded so somber there. Oh no, I'm not somber all. I was getting ready to apologize to you. Um, it's come to my attention that I give you notes on how you talking to the mike and you actually know more about the mic than I do. And UM, that's on me. That's embarrassing. Try and Mike to try
and micromanage your podcast abilities. I'm not happy to be here, but that's where I'm at, and happy to be here on this planet or doing the pod. Yeah, but not happy to be dragging my husband. Thank you. I appreciate it. Apology accepting. I'm sure I've done some messed up ship. Well, the fact that you can't even think of one of it, it's like kind of shows that you don't think you've done sucked up show. Okay, listen, let's move on. I am happy that the NBA is back. That's all I
want to talk about. I don't care like things are bad in in certain places, in certain ways. But I'm just like, do the Lakers play today? Like who's playing today? That's really what is saving me and you and your companionship. But I don't want to delay any further our guests that we have on the show, returning legend. He did our pilot which has never air. We gotta air that at some point. He was also on Greatest March Maddis Moments,
creator of Lenessa Chamberlain Heights. You may have seen him on Dunk Bait, Yahoo writer on the upcoming Kaepernick Show from Netflix. Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome Josiah Johnson. Who, man, you're gonna clown me to come on. Honestly, I say like that to somehow I like to wear it flows better this exclamation set up ship. I need to get the I need to get the quality mics. I could
like record albums like well comedy album. Whenever I'm doing a different podcast, people were like, do you have like, uh, you know, I'll just be talking into my computer. They're like, do you have an external mike? And I'm like no, I just splat out and like I don't know how to set it up and I know c J is done being my tech support. This, this looks awesome. I'm glad you guys are doing well. Good to see that you're ringing free? Yeah you too? How How are how
are How's everything over there? I think the world is fun. But I'm just trying to, you know, stay active, developing some shows, trying to keep grinding, doing the Yahoo thing. But yeah, just waiting to see what's gonna happen in November to determine if I'm gonna stay in this country or I'm gonna have to start looking elsewhere for citizenship.
But yeah, we're we're so, We're all three of us are so extremely active on Twitter, and I can't decide how much joy it brings me and how much, like does it does the joy outweigh the anger and the depression that it brings me. But I have yet to
figure out or do anything about it exactly. Yeah. I don't even know if we could like differentiate at this point, because like my instinct is to be like, oh, it brings me way more joy, but I think that's just a defense mechanism for me to get to stay on there, you know. Um. But on Friday's we're recording this on Friday. On Friday's I fight with people. Um, it's the one day a week that I allowed myself to fight on Twitter, Instagram,
and I've been having a fun day. I've been fighting with someone on CJ's behalf who's not even on Twitter. I'm just fighting with no one. But you know, I canceled some work to be able to lay on the couch and watch Selling Sunset while I tweet at B list celebrities. Yes, I mean it's a good times, a good time to use the platform to express your opinions first amment right, and to point out things that are
going on the universe. Sometimes the university is a fair sometimes the University of Jakie ship that can easily be fixed, but sometimes the universe refuses to do it. I don't know if it's pride you go or whatever it may be. Just so, are you happy that the NBA is bad for like your personal enjoyment and for content purposes? How
are you feeling about that? I mean, look, you know, like when when the NBA is going, obviously that's the you know, we're borth working in the same industry, so that's that's when the most heat is being done and
the most numbers are. But it's for me, it's just been like super depressing because I'm thinking about those guys, like if I had to poop in a gym, and for us, for the viewer at home, like the experience is great, right, Oh, the digital screen music, you know, it feels like a real game for those dudes and Madgine. You're being there and like you've got like five people
sitting to your right that are off camera. It's kind of like what we do these things with the zoom calls, Like you guys still know going on anyway there you could just be a pile trash, like right behind the computer whatever it maybe. But for the experience of this feels great. So I'm just I'm worried about those guys, and I know it's gonna get to the poor. They're gonna start losing their minds because it's like now you're doing the same ship over and over again. I've been
seeing rooms and rooms look smaller ship. I think Rhonda was somebody early on, like compared to the most how six, I think I was fairly accurate, like those rooms were, Like I was looking at JaVale McGee. He did Danny Reens podcast. That room was sucking, Like, how's this dude? This is like, you know, this just like solid terry confinement for that dude. But I'm glad to see basketball back. Hopefully the Lakers get it together and then you know, we'll go from there. Yeah. I mean, I don't, like,
can you tell me? Because you you've been through I mean, obviously you haven't been like in a bubble type thing, but you've had to stay in hotels, you've done travel as part of a college basketball team and a you and all that. How does this experience for those guys compared to like back in the day, I mean for us back in the day, like if you like started from like a you would go to Vegas like they
have the big tournament. For us, it was the thrill of getting out of the hotel, hitting the streets and going to circus circus, walking around in circles and the circus circus arcade literally for hours, looking at all the other teams, like basically knew everybody who couldn't get it cracking, who was like, you know, sixteen or younger. That's what
they were gonna do. That That was their head for these guys is like literally like a bunch of grown men and multimillion that literally don't you know they like to do their own ship. You got like quirky, eclective dudes who are now like they're there, they find their comfort like fishing on like the Jinkie like lake, the Disney building. It's just like it's literally like watching biodome. I know, you guys are all enough to remember that. I'm just like, you know, and then you see people
sneaking out of the the biodomes. I was waiting for that moment, so I know, if I get into all that, But when that type of ship started happening, it's like, wait, is this really a dumb And then I'm like watching games and they're showing like high angle like the blimp shot and there's really like soccer game going on the field. I'm like it, like this is a bubble or well,
I don't. I have friends and people, you know, I won't say any names, but like they're like media members and they're not in the bubble, but they're able to go to the games. And I didn't get really like
into how that works. But yeah, there's some holes in it. Luckily, you know, the last two tests people were negative, but like as time goes on, I don't know if it gets better or these holes just starting to get bigger where people where the players can be in danger and just also yeah, mentally for these players, can they stay in there, because it's like the more you win, the more you are almost punished to stay inside the bubble exactly.
So it's not it's not like we need a championship really and everybody's like I was gonna be an asterisk like fun that, like you gotta stay Disney World for three months, like go to Vegas or any of these places for three much the planned for the weekend like it's gonna be a ship face and come back home Monday, Like wait, I gotta stay here, like it's gonna be interesting and I'm sure tough when it opens up and they get to the point where families are allowed to come,
because there's gonna be some family dynamics that it's just like it's not gonna be you know, maybe don't bring our toddlers here, like maybe maybe we have five kids together, and that's actually not going to be conducive to us being in Orlando in this bubble. So there's gonna be some family members that come and some don't and all
that that that feels like that could be messy. I think anytime you take wholesome families and and insert i G Models with kids, oh yeahs, and activities and things to do, like what are these families doing during the Like what's like the Browns family doing when like, you know, somebody else's IG models are like at the same pool. I mean, they're just gonna be a lot of and then you know, there's a lot of cross pollinations in the NBA, so a lot of people that have dated
each other whatever, Like what's gonna be going on? Like I G Models jump ship, you know, midway through a series and go to the yea because they're already in the bubble. You know, you're an asset at that point. You gotta think there's there's been like you know, pass crossed and beefs and all types of stuff. So maybe they get resolved and maybe becomes like this harmonious thing they just go for to become an example for what
the world can be. But you're gonna start hearing about some fist fights and some other things going on, Like what happens if Westbrook like passes by Dame at like the snow cone machine? Are they just and their son actually housewives? Their sons would become friends and then it's like oh hi, and it's like, well the kids like
each other. I'm wondering if there's gonna be a Basketball Wives like bubble edition, like I saying, I think Basketball Wives says like run its course a little bit, but they could really v h one whoever is hard up for great reality shows. E let's get into like the our Girlfriends Invited. I don't do you have to be a fiance. That's like the hierarchy in that show, and I would love to see that play out in terms
of like who gets to come what hotel? All the levels that are within the bubble with those women, like they were talking about the the Aaron Gordon and Kyle Law but like come to my room, but it's like no, the raptors are staying at the night So I say, your key doesn't work in this Yeah, But I'm curious, like because you know, like guys like Lebron and Game got the presidential suits, right, but what about the other guys with these like Jankie, like regular hotel rooms now
family boo, there's gonna be an interesting dynamic mentally, like how these guys adjust from that point. I know they're gonna be happy to see their family, but after a while, it's like, wait, Like when I'm on the road, this is the best part. Like you know you hear all the time. Like I think about t J. Warren in his regular hotel room every day. I'm like, you deserve
an upgrade. They should be putting you like you should say at the top of Splash Mountain, anywhere t J. Warren wants to say, whoever scored the most points that week? There should just be a rotating room that they get to stay in. That would be kind of cool. Yeah, like a personal like, yeah, whoever drops thirty when you get the game ball, Yeah you get the key. I dropped three. Somebody got to come out the good good room. Yeah, got to come out the night were swapping. You're playing
every other day. I'm carrying the team. Give me the suite. Well yeah, I mean like so like Lebron and that. We haven't seen their rooms yet, but they got you know, obvious star treatment in that way. Are they are they are they getting exceptions in some ways? Is there a way for them to able to leave the bubble or getting you know, different kind of food, like you have a little bit experience of seeing like how NBA players get treatment, Like are they getting special treatment the stars
of the league? I mean you, like you said, you haven't seen Lebron. I mean to my novel one video that's emerged from from the normally active Lebron who loves showing you and surrounding and what he has going on. And I'm what I'm listening to. So yeah, of course, I mean I think it's stuff too, because how do you determine that. I'm sure there's even got the max contracts like a BG or Kauai who gets better room,
you know, because they're all in the Grandestino right there. Yeah, like you said earlier, it's everyone at the top of the standings are all in the same hotel, which is crazy. I'm surprisedly we haven't heard about more fights and more just what you know, like what's really going on because like you know, in those AU tournaments, like there's all types of pranks, all types of stuff. I think it's gonna be evolved at that point where it's gonna be
you know whatever. Yeah, like they're gonna lose their mind to start doing pranks and going crazy on each other. Can you give us a crazy AU hotel story? I know you got a bunch of them. Um let me think I can tell you a great I mean a great story that I have was literally like, so I was playing in the same AU program as Paul Pierce. So we go to Vegas. I think it's going into
a senior year. They fly KG and and this is like KG is kind of got at that point in term this is before social media and all that, but everybody knows Kevin Garnett is like at that point. But those two dudes hanging out together. But I guess a funny story is Baron Davis is also in that same program, but he's on like the younger team, like a year or two. So we're he's like three or four years older than me. But I'm with my crew, my buddy d Jay Harris and Tommy Johnson. We both went on
to play college ball and super successful. But we literally like are like eleven and twelve Phield Bolls and we're gonna hang out with like Bear in his room and every guy like some stuff going on, And then it's got that is like the head of the program, right, he runs everything. But that bangs on Barn's door and there's going on. I'm not gonna say what, but so
we're all like twelve years over. We go try and hid in the bathroom to rush in the hotel shower, just like trying not to get caught saying fucking walks in, like get the funk out of here, what are you? So we would always just like you know, you don't never went too crazy. Oh, actually I can't tell you my bad I have a I have a good one. I'm sorry. Actually, yeah, maybe that same actual trip. So we're working around in the hotel room. I think we're staying at like the It was like the Hilton, the
next like the west Gate. Now it's like a super jankie hotel. Nobody has some brew cologne spray. We're just taking a lighter. We're taking a lighter and doing flamethrower root alone, like flamethrower. Somebody flamethrowers gets like the fucking curtain. So we're like it's like four to a room. We just like scrambled through water on the ship just inundate the room with brutes bright fucking security knocks on the door, like, yo, like, do you smell like bruting? Here? Somehow we didn't get
booted from the hotel. The curt was really all fired. You're like, we had to beat the ship down and knock it out. But yeah, damn, that's literally that's like the burying in the back of my mind. I thought about that ship forever, but same crew ado, So probably that was like the crazy ship I've ever done. And then obviously when I was in high school we kind of get some crazy ship too. But I'm like, twelve year old boys staying in a hotel room alone is
I mean, that's like a comedy a horror film. It's everything wrapped into It's terrifying to me. Hopefully you don't tweet that to anybody. Yeah, let's keep that and we'll make a movie out of Yeah, okay, great, right now I sounded like Crystaliah and I was like, no, I'm not. I don't like it. I'm horrid. From a point we should we just expected at this point, Josiah. Yeah, when you have flips, you just shoot like I don't like sometimes like, oh wait, I made that up. Should we
take a break? Yeah, say a break and we'll get right into our greatest bubble moments so far and we're back. You tease the topic, we can do I mean full bubble episode. It was like we've just been talking about so many topics from the past, which is so fun. But this has obviously brought new life into us. I think new life into our relationship. I think if the NBA hadn't come back, we'd be in trouble um. But we foundation and that listeners, Jesus Christ, We've got the
NBA bubble. We've got what, We've got all we need Right now? Are people saying, what is that? Okay? Yeah? When I heard what trending and I saw like the me and this ship I'm alto taking sometime to catch up and were watually going on, and then I figure out what man, and I'm just like, yeah, this is like this is this is where we're come in the pandemic, Like this is like you got a song called Wold like Kylie just popped up for no other reason open the door, you know. But sweet asked c J. We're
watching it. I mean we're truly tucked in bed like an old, old married couple just watching Wet s Pussy together just watching the World premiere together and then Kylie pops up and CJ goes, yeah, but isn't her like whole body fake? And it's like what a good person? I mean, I was just like, yeah, I think that's for Like, yeah, you were like, oh wow, watching watch it, But that's how we watch all movies in production. I'm like, how how did they do that? You know? So I
want to know about the production. I want to know, you know, when I watch horror movies, I'm like, man, how did they turn that guy like clear to a ghost? And kyliebviously looks good but it's not real. And I felt like you were trying to be nice to me, like yeah, but you I see you eat taco bell all right? You see me? You see me get the parts all right? Uh? Josiah, greatest Bubble moments so far? Why on one or what? You're absolutely so, I'm lucky we have a friend as a guest because I'm sorry,
I'm enjoying. I'm focusing. I'm focusing up. I didn't mean to, Okay, I'm focused up the greatest the third time? Right? Did we do Mark? We did Mark? Madness? We did The pilot was something I'm not gonna say what it was, but the comebacks. No, we're going to release it at some point because that's what got us the show. Credit to you, so but greatest Bubble moments so far, we're gonna rank them. Josiah, what's your number three pick for exciting moment in the bubble that you've enjoyed so far?
For me, I want to give a shout out to the NBA Bubble Life crew and uh then using social media and showing the power of social to get J. J. Reddick to shotgun a beer I think was I mean it was literally we know you work in social and you wonder like if you were there paying attention, if
they know what's going on. And to see the way that that whole crew Black Trade drew being Nick Nepaula, the way that that crew just blew up and as funny as soon as it hit honestly, like within like a day I hit a Trade, Like, yeah, it's just too professional. There's a pros working. I know, like I know there Saint just some random account they popped up. He cracked up and did you know, didn't say anything.
We didn't find out it was those dudes man, So them being able to use the power of social to kind of aggregate and bring everything into one spot and to get j J to chuck up here, I would say, we've been number three. To me, Yeah, no, that was great. I mean when when we first saw that account and it wasn't it had maybe like five thousand followers, and we're like, we have to know whoever is running this, like we didn't know at first and then but like
and I'm really happy for those guys. And it's just another kind of case of like, man, just individuals who do it for the love and passion truly can do it better than a company. Like no, not not to shoot on like the big sports media, that's obviously no, but it's just like when a bunch of dudes are like, man, there's gonna be some great moments and we're gonna we're gonna showcase it in a clean, easily fun way to
consume and interact with the players. That was huge. Well, there's also when you're not a company, when you're a free standing person, there's a freedom of like my tweets are my own. Of course, you're just one person. You are not representing, so you're able to do and say whatever you want, which I live in both worlds, which is pretty awesome. I'm surprobably I haven't got fired for more jobs every day I went up. It's like, why
would anybody fire me? It's like I wake up with the death every fucking day, Like I'm gonna say some crazy shit and literally I'll say a crazy shot about companies that I'm working at. Harry fired me because I'm telling the truth. Like, yeah, I also think if if you were to be fired, I feel like people would take to the streets, you know, like people would be upset. They would come to back for you, which gives you,
I hope, an amount of security. And then see that at your point to I see a lot of people that social they try and act like R and B singers always love to respect you. It's like just hit the concrete, bro, No, it don't ever be too good to do anything like you suing you want to go put on the fucking Wolverine suit or what I mean. I'm just thought, if it's gonna it's gonna perform, it's gonna do well, do whatever the funk it takes. The Jordans fucking uh, the jeans one that you did that
like Mike, I mean, thank you for that. It is really like I'm like ordering costumes from Amazon and Megan's like sees me, you know, pull out like a Mickey head and she's just like what what's going on? But she like trusts that I'm doing it for a purpose. So I'm thankful. I trust the process videos. But I do want to ask that question of you said you lived in both worlds of like professional working for a
company and an individual. How have you ever gotten close to like you know, looking at the corner, looking at your profile picture and being like am I tweeting this from my account or from the company account? Um? So this is the thing, like a lot of companies are smart enough not to let me fucking like they go through a process. I got to send it the slag and they got to prove it and it's like no, we can't do this, and like to, uh, yeah, I was great. I've worked with actualts a lot of there.
Who's a co host on dunk too, but you run the dunkbet account, I'll hear him up sometimes, Like I had a crazy one last week that was like I was just start a total recall and I thought, look a lot like red r Bock just like photoshop Cigar. For some reason, I'm like, can we get this off? Like Bro's just too much, So anything that's on my mind, Like obviously I know I have my bread and butter
and let me talked. I I can do a lot of ship that I know that a Bleach reporters somebody else that there's no way at the top two dolls would let that go go to air go Live. So I changed to focus on that type of ship. But like I said, I'm always curious, like how come nobody like wants to fire me, Like it's weird. But um, now, CJ, you have posted something on the Checkdown No, yes, and before you tell the story, I am. I feel like
I'm very good at my job. But yeah, one time, we were at Super Bowl weekend and we're out with a co worker and his wife and we took a funny picture in front of a Mercedes Benz. It was like a pretty regular It was like one of those inside ones at the mall, like it was at the entrance to the party. We did like and then I posted it to the Checkdown account, which is an official NFL account, and it was up for like three minutes and that's enough when you have like at that time,
I think it was like two followers. They were like, okay, like a lot. We didn't get roasted that much, but I took it down immediately. But for those people, they got to see whoever ran the account, and it was yeah, it was for for who ran the account. It was a tough demo of representation for sure, I and I was more mad that I didn't get the amount of likes that I thought deserved. So really, okay, you want to go, you want me to go, I'll go, I'll go.
My number three pick is the Virtual Fanboard has been funny to watch for me, funny and heartwarming. I love seeing low Wayne, I love seeing Shack. I love seeing um Jayson Tatum's son Deuce appear on there and the whole story of how like he's saying it past his bedtime to see his dad like I do. Like it's both fun and sad that that's how they're havn't experienced things,
but we're all adjusting the pandemic right now. But it is nice they've tried to figure out a way to have the fan representation there and then also kind of just like single out those those relationships and like, yeah, it's cool to see how good of a dad Jaysentatum is and how his son like looks up to and watches every game. And I'm glad that the Virtual Board
has been able to do that. I liked Paul Pierce too, like when they were doing the time lapse of like him at the beginning and then fully piste off laying at the end. Yeah, it's been a fun way to like view a little Chris, you know you tried to get on the Virtual Fan Board, right, you know, I don't want to talk about this, okay, because I they messaged me it was set up, but then they didn't send me a confirmation. They just sent me an email that was like, how was your experience? And I'm like,
I didn't have an experience. I wasn't in there. You were that you're an empty seat at the Pacers game. Yeah, but also my t J Warren Jersey hasn't arrived yet. I'll let you know when I'm ready to be a fan Pacers. Just have you tried to be a virtual fan or do you have any ideas of how we can continue to show fan representation or like what what's the environment, like there for you is an ideal or I think everything the NBA had done from a viewer
perspective has been beautiful. Like the fanboard is great when you're watching at home. I think, uh, they showed who was it the Pacers fan from the MJ Doctor. Yeah, when I see stuff like that, and that's the one place. Obviously the NBA starting on the MLB with the Rona and all that good ship, but the MLB has really been bringing it with the fan cutouts we have like Bernie the other day. Yeah, I wish fans to have
more fun with that. It's cool to see Wayne and all those people, but like, yeah, you use that slap to put some funny up in that spot. Have a good time with it. But I've enjoyed it. We watched the first round of games with my mom. I had friends over in the backyard socially distance, and there was and like they thought those were real people. My mom was like, why are there so many people there? And we're like that's a screen. She goes, no, no, because
shocked by that. No fans they they're tuning in now because there's nothing else to do, and they're like, wait, that's best gotball been like this the whole time. It's like, no, we're we can't make contact with people anymore. I don't
know why the Pacers love that woman. I don't think she's a great representation of the times, you know, like just a white woman screaming like the Pacers would be the type of franchise be like we have the original Karen and it's like, no, that's not good, that's actually bad. Um okay. So my number three pick is Doris Burke mentioning people said it was like clowning her ex husband. I feel like it was more of a clown on her.
She was saying, I'm like stubborn, but her like having that ex husband comment, and then how tickled she was with it afterwards, Like I love when someone laughs at their own joke. I do it all the time. Listen to me. I tickled with this, and she she was like, yeah, ask my husband, and then she laughed for like a
minute straight. Yeah. Was it brain or somebody just didn't know how to react to it was just it was like funny and cute, and it kind of felt like best in show Cam and Taters, like for a second, they felt like characters in a movie broadcasters, and yeah, it just really made me laugh all the meat, like everybody talking about her ex husband. Who knows who this man is? But I love Doris doing a little um comedy.
I'm sure we'll find out. So when he filed the defamation laws, yeah, if he did that, the internet would be like, you bitch, you're a little bit why don't you go coach golf and Rhode Island more that's what he does. Yeah, I just hope you don't get inspired to do that about me if you ever in that you're my current husband, current husband that you know what on television they tried to make fun of the size of your penis because you're Asian, and I did not
let them. I appreciate that. I appreciate. So there you go. All right, let's take a break on that and we'll be back with our number two picks. All right, and we're back. And it's really only a few seconds after I cut to that break, I'm just from Megan talking about my Peter, but number two picks? What else is
it exciting you? Josiah in the bubble? For me, I think the biggest thing that popped out of the bubble was initially was when King Center Rashan Holmes dip and left and we heard all this ship about it's a bubble. It's like when he wants to take up and I don't blame them for that one. That's something like he genuinely was like, I didn't know you couldn't do that.
That's literally the first thing I do when I go to and he say, and then to hear the whole batstor with Kelly Aubrey telling everybody you know tweeting it out like Noach, He's like, yo, they can, they can come to the hotel lobby, But yeah, no, that's I do the same thing I told Megan like two months in the pandemic. I was like, I missed going to hotel and finding what chain restaurant is nearby so I can order it or even go to it. But so I totally get Rashawn Holmes's excitement. And then to break
that is really funny. I'm enough of a weirdo that I remember back in the days when we would go on road trips, I'd pull off the Yellow Pages and literally just scant through, like what what restaurants are some of your shitty cities? Like everything shut down? In Tans some other spots that were more lively, like you get one two am, but it'll always be like, yeah, where can we grub on Indian episode will say one of the greatest things I've ever been to. Wow, what are
your favorite road chains? Oh? Road chains? I'm a big like outback steakhouse, like like random loser stuff. But when Indy like, obviously, uh where do we go? Ocean Air, White Cat, I love Ruby Tuesday. That's like, but they have they have a salad bar, and that will be no more after COVID. I love salad bars. It's Maria Kalling's have a really good one. Yeah, No, it's yeah those places that just have like a giant menu and then I always, i mean usually with that stuff, it's
like again corporate card. So you know, I'm getting dessert, I'm getting up like if I haven't just want to try one of something, I'm getting it to like I know, I'm getting my staple, my burger, but I'm also getting like four appetizers. And that's just what I miss. That's kind of what I miss outside of the pandemic that I mean, don't get like the because when I travel, we get like the but you can always spend like fifty or whatever whatever. I'm not permitting myself. There's way
or yeah. They never really let me get a corporate part and I respect all my employers you're doing that. I would definite alright, my number two I would have to go with. I don't want to. I know what I feel like. I know our number one is gonna be, so I'm not gonna say yeah, But I think it's the addition of j R. Smith And just like the Meme team got crazier in the bubble the signing of j R. Smith, but then also like Dion having legitimate plays in the in the bubble so far and like
taking over. I'm excited for the Lakers, even though they lost some really bad games, but I've got like all I wanted was them for beat to beat the Clippers to show that it can be done, and it was and j R. And Dion got some play and so I think just to see that preview before we actually get into playoffs of like that crazy Meme team, Like people don't know if Lebron pulls us off with those guys, this is this is gonna be crazy, Like Dion Waiters, Dwight Howard j R. Smith are on your team and
you want a championship in a bubble, He's the goat. There's no other there's no argument. There's no argument. In the last day, there was four Rodman's That's what it is. I don't think God loves me enough to make that happen, but if it does. But if it does, there's like when um, when Trump got elected, after you know, losing the popular vote by two million, people would be like, oh, comedy like that was the troupe, Like, oh, comedy will be easier now, and we're all like no, it's like terrible.
We're really sad and it's not fun. But like with Dion and j R. It's like, actually, comedy did get more fun, Like they actually do make it better and happier. And I didn't realize how old Dion Waiters was. I thought he was like twenty two, oh d ing on edibles, and then you see him and he's just a full grown man and you're like, wow, you still didn't know the dosage that was good for you before, so I can definitely understand where he's coming from. Yes, that wasn't college,
so yeah, you were a young man. This is grown up. No, and you know how those flights like if they're they're flying across country, like you take one extra, one or two extra? You took an extra, Like the instructions aren't clear on edible wrapper instructions. I don't even think that you're usually you're just asking the person who sells it to you how many should I taken? Like, oh, your friend is like I'm going through the dispense. We're like, oh great, can you grab me some of this or whatever?
Like I have to ask. I have to look the person in the eye when I'm getting those, because I just came back to edibles recently and during the pandemic. I'm like, there's no way I'm gonna leave my house, so I'm gonna try him again. And I found a good We found a good uh like dosage ones. But I had to ask them like what is this do? How long does it last? Like you need all those instructions? Do you think Dion just needed more information? I don't
blame him whatsoever. I smoke wax whatever the funk they call that, like probably like three years ago, and it was like the worst experience in my life. Smoke crack. If you want to Yeah, this is like, what are you guys doing? Like this is a funk up your whole world that we're mupposed to do befo I do this year, We're mupposed to talk to you who hanging out with the mess? I don't. I think he's like a man of the people those first few i G. Stories.
I'm I'm sad that he got kind of reprimanded early because right out the gate that was like the start of the bubble was we got four JR videos of him like knocking on teammates doors and be like, hey do you see the menu, were like you know, popping in and out, playing games with the hotel, like he looked like a kid again. And then he's he's like Instagram,
I got in trouble. It's perfect. I want to know who had to make that call, like JR King, Look, you just can't be it had to be Lebron, right, because Lebron he's like the guy who can talk to j R. It was not Frank Vogel. Yeah, I think you're right that it was a player perhaps, But now yeah, they like they nipped in the bud too early. Yeah alright, Megan, Okay, my number two is t J Warren scoring fifty three
in the Pacers first game back listen? It just really who I was so happy that that the Pacers came back. I was so happy that Vic was playing, and then it just all sort of like shifted to this unknown man in my heart. But it was like my heart had known him all along. I just hadn't been introduced to him yet. And just watching him shine my bubble king, I'm so proud and yeah, it was just a fifty three was crazy? Yeah what I mean? I also kind of want to lump in the Suns with it, like
no players, Yeah, no t J Warren. But I'm saying, like why why are why is t J Warren going off? Why are the Sun's four? No? Like, is it truly that much of a different environment that he's scrubs? Not scrubs, but like unknown players are dropping fifty three? Scrub I like wid joking mate, though, Like I think it's like Jr. The High j R. Smith looking like wait what do Yeah? But t J is a killer. It's good for me
to see guys like that. And I think the thing is that people don't really understand about what's going on in the bubble it's a lot closer to like summer league summer ball, so that's why you're seeing these crazy high scores. Like it's just a different style of all. These guys are a lot more care free. Obviously still got res kind of keeping everything contained, but you don't really have to crowd the home court advantage anymore. So they're just like going to the gym in the summer
and who've been putting in the work. You get to really see that. But guys like t J. I was a little worried when they had twenty two teams, is going like that's how the level of play would be. But I also thought these younger teams would have a lot more advantage because they're used to playing this a you style, hundred games in the summer all over you know whatever, like you know, so it wasn't a big difference to be in hotels and kind of doing all
this stuff. But you know, I mean, I was a little disappointed to with the Pelicans, but I think that's off topics. So it's not off to I mean, do you really think I think you know what, when you discussed one small market, you discussed them all they like it's like it's kind of them, and then and the Pacers and the Pelicans are sort of in the everybody else And that's why I think it made me so happy.
Like when the Pacers, when people are texting me that are not Pacers fans, I'm like, oh great, we like made the mainstream for a day and it's exciting. Yeah. I mean, I just don't know how. That's just like a peek into what it's like to be married. You talk about the Pacers, I'm like, I have no idea what to say back. I think that's a that's what you mean to say, is that's a peek into what it's like to be a fan for a team your
whole life. Okay, Okay, I love Lebron. I don't know what to tell you, no, but I just people are like, yeah, it's easier to shoot and it's like shooters Paradise. But it's like the Lakers went one for thirty five on threes last night. So it's affecting people in different ways that Yeah, it's it's gonna be interesting the playoffs, Like everyone's like, oh, Lakers going up against the Blazers in the first round. Who knows, And maybe maybe you don't
think I guess we just have to see it. Yeah, I'm not I'm not really excited about any of that. The Lakers will look kind of kind of old and musty and thirty five. I think all the bron fans, no, we know we're playing with house money. The amount of minutes he's played, and you know, there's no way to doing anything that you're doing right now. So they have the Lakers in the first place. I feel like we all know like the clock is taking, so we just gotta talk to my shoot as we can before it
just all goes downhill. But if God is good enough to bless us with the Lakers championship, honestly, there's gonna a lot of people that are gonna want to kill me. I'm just gonna tell you, right, we got your back. I'm going hard. All right, Let's talk our number one picks. Megan, you go first. Let's get is out the way. I've been leaving that because yeah, I've been picking. So these are my honorable mentions. The photo of the Westbrook kids
in their Gene jackets watching their dad. I love that, Zion asking if he should be looking at something during his interview. Listen, I've been there you want to me. That made me be like Zion is a natural performer. He's looking for his light, he's looking for his camera. God bless him. And then in the w n b A bubble, Sabrina scoring thirty three points obviously then getting hurt, but like speedy, speedy recovery. So much of the w n b A has been really really fun, them trolling
their own owner. I love that. It's yeah, they've been great, and I love every like the NBA support that's come out. Yeah, those hoodies are like sold out everywhere. So my number one is gonna you know, is like maybe sentimental or it just induced tears out of me. And it was the Clippers Lakers game that first day back when they all kneeled and the national anthem and and I just saw so many people talking about it, non sports fans.
It really felt like sports are back, and it's back in a way that's kind of saying fuck you to our president and to other you know, his racists, And it just felt really in solidarity and beautiful in him saying I hope he made CAP proud, and just seeing all the white players, Neil, thank you great. And then for that game, no I'm saying kers slippers. We had all the white players, Neil, and we had Tan Frank Vogel kneeling, and that's all you can ask for. That's great,
Actually not all you can ask for. You can also like, you know, stop killing black people. Yeah right, actually, like what we're what we're asking for that? Uh uh Yeah, it's just for a second. I always look and just kind of not laugh, but just laugh with like in the black community, we kind of like paying humor of
the coping mechanism. But it's like it's like it's it's literally like now like present day, and we're still talking about the same ship, and it's still like do you really need Like that's like the response, like what do you mean? Everything's fair? Right? Like I used to I like I laughed at the idea of me. I used to tell people like or having a timeline like no, by December, we'll be doing this or doing that, and like, man,
I've blown by. I remember I looked at a tweet last night that said how awesome is it gonna be when we're watching the Lakers Clippers Game seven finals on July four and at a barbecue, and I was like, man, we blew by that, and we're we haven't have been started the playoffs yet, just to see the way that this response has been handled. And really, we all make money, we all do ship, we're all our industries are all
getting attacked by it. But just just see the buffoonery and then like the level of idiots scenes, people that like think that they're doctors and telling you. It's like, if I'm asking you to wear a fucking mask, do you think anybody wants to do that? Ship? You think I woke up this morning like funk, I can't wait to go outside and wear a mask off dead, Like there's a point, you know, I mean, you have some
funing respect. It is to see the level of like disrespect and just people not giving a ship as the numbers keep piling up, and at this point, like the response has been like, well fuck it, it's just gonna it's gonna do whatever it does. And whenever we get
a vaccine, we'll start to get you back together. But yeah, and then it's like if people take the vaccine and you you on like a global or like larger scale, you're like, I hate this type of person that does it, and then you have to have like immediate people in your own life that disappoint you to so you're like constantly being bombarded with like they did what I liked them? Why are they doing that? Yeah, more than a few times I've had to see that happen, and it's like
you just didn't have to say anything. Yeah, I just don't say it. You're like, don't stadiums, you know, to put anybody You're smart, It's okay, we get it. Like that's why it's like some of the players or staff that have stood for the anthem, I'm like, just do it so we don't have to ask you why or have stories about it, you know, like your your teammates
can know your beliefs and respect to you. But it's just just also, yeah that my my parents are in the military, that everybody's parents are, Like that doesn't it's not even about the military. Like their response is to why they're not kneeling? Are what are bad? And then people like why do they have to justify it? They actually don't. They're the ones justifying it with bullshit answers that do take away from it. So where are we
are going to get mad about that? Yeah? I mean I think you know, I don't want to point anybody in particular, because obviously, you know, kids are young, they've got a lot of learning and growing to do. But you just wish that they've had people in their circles could be like, yeah, it doesn't make any sense. Just shut the funk up, Like, don't even answer the question. Just be quiet. You don't need to answer the question because if you answer it, you're gonna make yourself look
worse and shout out the Terylor Rooks. You've done a great job in the bubble. Actually question I need to be asked the ways that it's like, here's a separate way to just explain yourself, and it's like, well they don't make any but there are I think the vlogs have been very good to show, like the okay, I don't want to talk now. I I fake got mad at her because the vlogs are is my number one pick, which I feel like at first you're annoyed, but now
you're intrigued by me watching the vlogs. But I just love, I love, and I don't know because I was drunk at your mom's house and I just wanted someone to talk to me, and I was just watching all I was like binging all the vlogs. But yeah, my favorite moment of the NBA coming back is now players documenting
their experiences in the bubble. And I don't know if it's a little bit of inspiration from the Last Dance and you know, just how YouTube has have been evolved that players are now taking the content into their own hands, and they have their own operations and channels, and they're just like releasing these almost like unfiltered, unedited, raw documentations of of what life as an NBA player in in
these crazy circumstances. Are like, so, yeah, shout out to Javail and Matisse and Troy Annuals and I think a couple of other players just launched them. But like, you know, those guys are It's been fun seeing their experience. It's also fun to see like the star players pop up in the background. And even if it's like for five like Lebron doing Taco Tuesday after a Lakers practice is just like it brings me such joy. So those vlogs, I'm here for them. I want them to continue and evolve.
I'm rocking with them, Like I think, you know, these guys in the production value they're putting in Now they've got dudes putting them together. For him, it's just a p you know, we all work in production. It's nice and refreshing me to see guys like get the proper framing and the shot and hold it for the right amount of time and be able to do kind of cool stuff. But I love these guys, like you said, like they're all they all have their own brands now
they all get it. But I think that's all. That's great, but then it's also bad for people like us, and now we want to do ship with them and become the whole. Everybody thinks they're Scorsese and you know, I know I know how to do all this, Like I mean, this is like entry level stuff. Bro we got we got a lot more love from But but for me to see these dudes maximizing, I'm a big fan of, like you know what. I interviewed crow So a couple of weeks ago, and he was just happy to have
like human interaction. He was just literally broth for fun, like I go golf for fish and other than that, I don't really do anything. So to see these dudes kind of learning new skills and learning new crafts. I think something's really really cool. Yeah, all right, what's your number one? Pick um? I think I'm glad you guys didn't saying that, and I really appreciate you because we didn't even really discuss like what the rankings we're gonna be coming in, you know, I know, I think last
time we had like a kind of pre prediscussion. Knew, of course, let Pepper like and obviously the reasons behind it. I think his grandfather passed away, and that's like we all do with tragic stuff. But you know, to be at the strip club getting Limon Pepper chicken wings, which literally numerous human beings in the sporting community were like, no,
that's like really really good. I'm wanting I really want to have them because I want to see with a fifteen dollar for It's like but the fact that he was literally like, yeah, I'm out the bubble and I'm gonna go to the strip club to get chicken wings. And then we heard like stripper saying that he got dances. He didn't, he did whatever, But I just thought and it was great for me personally for social because I got to get some jokes off, which I don't really
care about like who's right or wrong. It's like when the news breaks, I'm gonna give you an angle on it. Animals fans, and that was like, you know, a hundred times better. And to your point, I was worried, like Dan, they don't got Matres or Lou when they played him in that first game, like they can't get smacked. We beat we beat him, so we're good. Everything out and
beyond that, what's the Lakers place. I didn't give a funk about anything, Like I'm looking at Lakers fans now like, oh, we gotta do this and there it's like, bro, like do you think they give a funk right now? They just clinched the number one seed. The play over the next four games, everyone checking each other's joke of like, oh no, we lost and we dropped to the one seed. I know everyone keeps doing that joke. I'm like, I
still love it. It's really funny. Yeah, And I mean I've been I've been tempted to get that joke out, but as you know, sometimes it's just like, yeah, that's that's too much. So I know, I know, I know that's when everybody's gonna hapen to go to But it's like you said, whenever I see it is like, yeah,
we are still in first so yeah, exactly. When that's when I first heard about that story, you were the first person that popped in my head, Like I was like, I can't this is just like I just can't wait to hear what Josiah has to say about this, almost on the way that I would do with like Joan Rivers. That's the only other comedian I can ever remember thinking to myself, like, I can't wait to hear their take. But it just felt so it's so funny. It's like,
really didn't bother me. I was always justice for Low. I'm totally on his side. I love chicken Wings. I saw the photos. They looked great. Photos are so like I've known so many people that have gone to a funeral and then gone to a strip club. That's actually like a pretty normal thing. That's why I think some of the fund the comedy from it was were the excuses like one like the reason the story broke was because Jack Harlow, who is I don't know what to
think of his side. That's like I guess a catchy song, but like an I G story where it's him and they're like, uh yeah at the strip club, and then they tried to say, oh, that was an old photo. We were just reminiscing and Louis wearing the mask from the bubble. It's like, man, you guys got to think about these excuses for one second, and it's Jack Harlow, just like a twenty three year old new rapper on
the scene. But then yeah, I saw the wings, and then that's when I started leaning towards you know, like I'm kind of on his side, even though I'm all Lakers, but yeah, but there's lot will limit pepper wings. I mean, and honestly, for for the for Magic City, have enough respect for him to name the wings after him, I understand why you have to go there. Like if he's in Atlanta and he didn't go get wings that are
named after him, what kind of human being is? But just to see the obviously, like the quarantine wasn't that bad. I only think they made him do like four days. But like, come on, Doug for some wings, but also for Sean Hull did the same thing. So wings are just what funny is right after the story, like I think I'm a guarantee wing cells went up like I was the wings like two or three times a week
was devouring and like real quarantine. Yeah, I saw you tweet about, like what's the best wing spot in l A. Did you end up finding one? I've got people like they've shipped me towards the Korean spots, which I feel like they're in their own lane, because look, the Korean Korean like food in l A is like the bomber ship you know of all times, but it's really in its own world because you literally got to go to
different parts of that. Lady even get it. But I usually go to a spot, uh it's called Hot Wings Cafe. They're going in Melroad. That's like my favorite. But I'd be going there since high school. Back in the day, like those wings used to be juicy, and now it feels like they just kind of you know, I've been
really you know, they need to put some weight on them. Yeah, you open up a chain and everyone's like, hey, we could go a little bit less on the ingredients, like the grizzling wings sometimes, but it's still it's still my go to. And I go to like Buffalo Wild Wing, you know, my local fat burger and get him. You know, if I'm just desperate, but I respect you and I need a perfect wing though. Somebody would telling me by on your guys spot like rested in or some ship.
Yeah that's yeah, it's pretty solid. I think people also just like the the environment. It's just like a dive bar. But they got great burgers and one next to Fat Burger that just opened Buffalos, which it looks kind of like a wingstop situation, which is yeah, it's just there's something about it. I love wings up. It's reliable, but to me, it's like the Dominoes of wings It's like really really good at first, but then man, I feel sick for like a day. I went to the BW
three's in Burbank once. It was like a Tuesday night. There was not a sporting event, there was nothing of significance going on, and we put our name in and they were like your fifty three on the wait list. It's like that is I was like, can you can, let's let's ballpark like a time and they were like five plus hours we'll be closed by vent. Like it was so insane. I hope lou Will is looking into
opening up his own wing spot. Yeah, absolutely in l a by the New Stadium Hooters Naked wings used to be the ship too back in the day, like don't get with all breaded, like it was way too much bread on them. But then Hooter started nickel and diamond for ranches and ship and it's like how some Yeah, I'm I'm I gonna get a chicken wing and not you try to be a dollar each side to four ranch, Like I gotta bring my own fucking ranch to Hooters.
And I've been it before. It'll get me wrong. I mean, I'm saying I the ranch up, but I'm not gonna get dollar ranches. That's not enough. That is, Isn't that? Like True Life? I love my body. The woman had a giant hidden valley in her person at all times. Oh and this was a hero of mine in like just pulling a giant hidden valley out fast food restaurants and the whole True Life was like I'm fat and
I love being fat. I was just gonna say, like that's a great argument to pay and like college players, if you having to bring your own bottle of ranch around, like I gotta pack my bags, make sure to grab the ranch throw to the ranch that you can't really leave that up to chance. When you go to a lot of places because they try to give you the capetillo or straight to basket, and it's like, have some
respect right in a respect back culture. Give me some red rooster, give me some option, some crystal, you know, give me some freaks, red hot, give me some options. All right, Just so thank you so much. Why not on on your way out here, give us a little preview of what you're excited for coming up in the bubble.
I'm excited to see Lebron Raymond James Sr. Overcome the haters and the dow oters in the year of Our Lord that they released the last dance out of MJ's pettiness and Lebron winning in to now shove it right back in MJ's face in one of the hardest conditions ever. Now on watered down NBA, I might add for all you Chicago Bulls fans out there, and uh leave the Lakers to glory in honor of Kobe being broken. Yes, sir, I co signed again. What are you excited for? Sign
that too? But I'm just excited to see who wins. I really am. I I hope it's the Lakers. I genuinely, in my heart, deep deep deep down in my soul want that for everybody. But I'm excited to see how that happens, because even if it is the Lakers, I think it's going to be a wild ride. Uh. And I yeah, I hope players remains safe and healthy and that the message doesn't get distracted. Uh. And they're able to do that. Some of it we and that we could talk about another podcast. Some of it is a
little bit watered down. And I like what you know, guys like Lebron and them are trying to do where they're not just gonna like pick from a list of names put on the back of their jersey, and they continue to use their sort of media availability to talk about just for Brianna Taylor. Um, and you know key forward in the message, we're happy basketball is back and that we're safe, healthy, that you're safe, healthy. Josiah and your little cutie's Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure they're less
cute right now, but they're loving life. Mom and dad at home all day every day. They don't know I was going on in the world, Like dads here finessing the bag. What where can people find you? King Josiah fifty four or just lurking in the shadows of Twitter. Sometimes you'll see it. People, everyone's retweeting it. So all right, Megan, where beautifind you? Okay, she's chugging her sangria. No, it's just a little the you know, when the ice melts
with the sangrea, just that part um. You can find me at Megan Gaily and I'm at c J Toldonald that's been another episode of the Greatest and thank you guys.
