Listener Reviews and Podcast Nostalgia

You're right. So we got a few reviews. Let's see. Got a review here a few weeks ago on YouTube. from when we reviewed They Called Us Enemy. That was in our first year, 2019, I believe. And let's see. Wait a second. We've been doing this podcast since 2019. Yeah, late 2019. Man, time is just so weird.

Shy Ninja Graphic Novel Review

COVID has made time weird. It has. This was for the They Called Us Enemy by George Takei. And it was reviewed by Anime Who Review Channel. It doesn't say channel. It says channel. And this is the comment. They're three series of Star Trek 1966 to 69. So I have no idea what that means.

Michael, we got to go back and listen because they were talking about George Takei. So they were obviously talking about Star Trek. I mean, we were obviously talking about Star Trek on the podcast and we just don't remember it because it was from 2019. But you can't say, I don't know. We were clearly talking about Star Trek.

And we probably said that there were two. Because I think I do remember having a discussion about how many Star Treks there were. And I knew that... But there was only one season. Didn't we say to the... to the trekkie people then we make a comment about how star trek fans would be like

yelling at their devices. Maybe this is one of them. And so they're like, I'm not going to yell at the device. I'm going to actually put it out there. So now we know. There are three. Three. I still think there was only one season though. So I'm not sure what this means. well then we better listen because the things that our fans tell us matters so we're gonna go you're gonna read that other one yep okay i got it up on uh i podcasts on the podcast app

Which podcast app? On the Apple. Oh, okay. Is it iTunes? Well, it used to be an Apple podcast. Okay, I didn't want to say iTunes because I wasn't sure that that's what it was. I know there's no iTunes. What is iTunes? That's from like...

10 years ago now really people you don't ever nobody uses like the itunes isn't a thing anymore like i don't know anything anyway i mean it's not this is not this will not surprise anybody that actually knows me because like i had a i honestly i didn't have a smartphone until I want to say 2011. I had flip phones. You had your Android then.

and that and i got an android i didn't even get an iphone i mean not that you got the first iphone anyway okay back to our reviews i caught an episode this is from uh oh it's actually from July 27th of 2020. But they gave us five stars. I don't see a name. Do they usually put a name with it? Maybe. And if you don't see one, then don't worry. Okay.

It says, love this podcast. I caught an episode because they reviewed an anthology I was in. So great to see in-depth reviews of comics outside of the mainstream. Thank you very much, Anonymous. reviewer because that's our goal. It is. It's to read things that aren't. Yeah, and give some, I mean, limited exposure, but still like, and I mean, we enjoy reading this.

not mainstream stuff. Definitely. Yeah. Thank you for your, yeah, for sure. Review. All right. I am going to, I'm going to do a review of a book that, that I read. I got a preview copy from Humanoids. That's called Shy Ninja. Came out this year. Don't remember exactly when. It's created by Adara Sanchez and written by Ricardo Sanchez with art and colors by Ariana Florian and Tom Napolitano. is a letterer. So this story, Shine Ninja, I think it's like a YA book. Kind of like manga style artwork.

And it's a good story. I liked it. It's about this girl who kind of is kind of lost a little bit. You know, a teenage girl. And the creators were father-daughter. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, they came up with it. And I think he's in comics. And she came up with this idea while they were driving on the way to... her first comic-con in san diego came up with this idea and put it together and he wrote it and uh i think she had some input because it was her right her story idea but uh yeah

Sanchez. Oh. It's about a... Because that tells me everything. I understand. I don't know. So what it is is this... this ninja council who uh they you it looks like they are out to find Like this secret ghost ninja that's been missing for hundreds of years And a new one comes along every so often and they tap this girl to be it. She's kind of like Kind of like, I think like a loner doesn't pay attention to class. She's not, you know, she's just not part of the...

The thing going on in class. So they tap her. She doesn't want to do it. Her mother's like, yes, it's a class. You can go do it. Do something. And she's good at it. And they get her to help steal this thing, this electronic thing. But it turns out that the electronic thing is stolen from where her mother works. And that's why they got her. Because they trained her to go in so she could steal this thing. So she could be the insider. And she didn't realize it. And then it's this whole thing.

AI that she basically stole and stuff. It's a good story because you don't know what's happening all along and you roll into this and say, oh, that's pretty cool. But it was a good story. I enjoyed it. It's a full-length graphic novel. Oh, cool. Yeah, it's 129 pages. Oh, wow. 129 pages, full color. Oh, that was my next question. Yep, full color. And I think it was, it's like $22, I believe. But it's good.

Or maybe that's a price I pulled out of my head. Oh, that's all the book that we're looking at, something like that, I think. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But yes, it was good. Don't you hate it when you're looking at something? I was trying to say, it happens to me a lot lately. I'm looking at something and name something that I hear. Like I said to our youngest today.

I replaced mask instead of fork or something. It was like the two words had nothing to do with each other. But I just heard somebody say mask. So then I just said it. It was so strange.

It's been happening lately a lot you're looking at something But something else you're trying to answer and that's the thing you say even though the other thing is what you're oh Yeah, that happens a lot too. That was not this particular. Yeah, that's that that happens to me yeah i try to answer something and it's like yes go take out the car no no no i meant the dog but yeah because you're staring at the car thinking about going out to the car but the dog needs to go out and you got the two

Things cross wires. Yeah. I think that happens a lot to normal people. I mean, I think that that is a relatable situation. I don't know if mine's relatable as much. Okay. You think it is? It happens to you all the time? i don't know it sounds like it doesn't but at least yours but like your example was like two things that were related you could say why like mine was just like i heard the word so i said it just you just said mask

No, I just, I used it in place of the word fork or whatever. It wasn't fork, but it wasn't mask. It wasn't anything about covering her face or anything like that. I don't know. Anyway, it was like, but I've been doing it to the kids too. I'll say to do something or go somewhere or I'll ask for something. I'll say go brush your teeth, but I'll tell them to go to their room.

Okay. I don't know. Okay. Anyhow, I think you're right. I think maybe some of our audience can relate, but I don't think it's something that happens to everybody. I think everybody's like, you might need to talk to your doctor. Or stop smoking so much pot, baby. If you have clouded judgment, please see your doctor. Anyhow.

If you are allergic to this medicine, please don't take this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to this medicine. I don't know where that one came up from the lawyers, but they all do it now. If you're allergic to the ingredients in douchebag medicine, don't take that. Because there's... Because they got sued and probably rightfully because there's some secret thing in there that isn't listed or something. You know what I mean? So they have to say.

But it probably doesn't actually solve the problem. I mean, if you're allergic to it, you don't know you're allergic to it. Yes, so it just makes it so that you can't sue them. Like that's their caveat. We told you if you were allergic to it, not take it. So it's like it prevents lawsuits from happening. But I don't know that it actually would, right? It might just scare some people off. From trying it?

Trying the lawsuit. From trying a lawsuit. I gotcha. Okay. I was like, that's not their goal. I know that. Yeah. And also, like, if they say it enough, then people will already think, like, you know that you hear it all the time. So you're like, well, I'm not going to be able to sue. You obviously don't think that, right, or say it. Right. But, like, you've heard enough that you realize you can't sue companies, drug companies, for allergic reactions to their medication. Right, right.

Diverse Comic Readings and Reactions

That's really what they want you to know. Exactly. There's a couple other things that I read. There's this book from BBC. It's called Missy. It's a Doctor Who spinoff. It's pretty good. I was reading a few of those comics. I like those. Are those full-length comics? They're just standard comic books. Oh, okay, cool.

And then I did read Volume 2 of Something is Killing the Children from Boom Studios. Oh, I want to read that. This is Volume 2. It starts with Chapter 6. I didn't read Volume 1, but it is... It's an interesting story. It's a compilation from the comics. You've seen the emails? I have the book. Oh, do you? The same one, maybe? Probably.

It's a good story. I mean, I don't know where it's going because I read this entire one and I liked it. But you're like starting in the middle of the story and it's not ended yet. So it's like... It's good, but you really need to probably read the first book in order to get the beginning of the story.

And then continue it. But you wanted more just from reading the second. So you're like, we need to get the first one and the third one. So if you buy the second one in the middle and love it, you're going to buy one and three too. Yeah, it was good. I enjoyed it. So definitely another one to look for. You don't want to talk about any more than that, just to say something's killing our children. It's volume two. No, it's...

It's exactly that. There's something... I don't know what it is. I don't remember. I haven't read it in months. Yeah, it's been months since I read it. Pull it up, then. I did pull it up, but it's... I don't remember what it was. I think it was some type of creature is killing them. And so, you know, they're trying to figure it out, the police and everything. And, you know, nothing's going to come of that. Of course not. Because please don't do anything.

They're reactive. Except kill people. They're reactive. They're not proactive. But here's an idea. This is one of the things that you see. See, I was 7% through it. Here, Parker. Volume 2. Yep.

yeah oh goodness oh yeah there's these black blobs that you see that they have something to do with and you know they look like some type of alien form or something but it's it's it's scary interesting story it's very I mean like the all of the artwork throughout is very like dark yes it's all dark the whole thing is it's very cool yeah it's good I told you I started reading it but I didn't get to finish it yet Well, good. Then we should, uh, you should read it. I'm going to.

It's been a month and probably going to be a month from now on. It's just the way it's going to be. We're going to be more of a monthly show from now on. We're going to change things up a bit, but we'll give you those details next time. Yeah, exactly. Something to look forward to. Definitely, definitely. But how's everything going out your way in the summer of 2021 with the Delta variant raging its ugly head?

you know i it's such a it's funny because i feel like this is how we start every podcast even though things have like kind of gone somewhat back to normal we're both vaccinated fully so we can go outside but our kids aren't so i mean not that we don't go outside obviously we go outside but like we don't really go into indoor places unless people are going to be masked exactly and and we don't usually go into tightly

Oh, yeah. They must be open spaces. Yeah. I mean, it's based on what we're watching on the news today. It looks like it's going to be the rest of this year again. I mean, it looks like this. I mean, I've kind of given up. I've kind of given up on putting an end date on it. I don't think that it's realistic to say it'll be over by the fall or it'll be over by...

then to winter or next spring or whatever. I just, I don't think it's realistic. No, to a point where we can actually live normal lives after our kids are vaccinated. I think it'll be a big difference for us. Yeah, I think so. We'll feel more comfortable going places because we'll know that all of us are vaccinated. And it's so funny, too, how these people are like, look, you could look all these all these vaccinated people testing positive. And it's like.

well yeah they're they're not wearing masks anymore so they're exposing themselves more and also none of them are or at least From our understanding, they're not dying. They're getting it a lot less severe. Yeah. The numbers are low that are dying. It's like in the less than 10%.

In general or vaccinated? It's under 10%. It might be under 5%. That's good. And again, they could be older people, pre-existing conditions. There could be all kinds of things that we don't know about. Well, I mean, it doesn't really matter, right? When you're looking at that giant group of people, you can't, I mean, saying it's less than 10%, I mean, that's the effectiveness of the vaccine, right? Yeah, exactly. Right on track there. Yeah. Science.

Yep. I was blinded by science. Science. Anyhow, so we have been... We're just living that best life. I've been reading a lot of books, and... We're not going to get to review everything in full reviews, but we're going to get through most of the books. Anything that has come our way that was sent to us, we're going to get through. um not get through you make it sound like it's a chore no i mean we're going to we're going to discuss anybody that sent us

We'll discuss. Yeah, we'll get there. Don't think because we're not putting podcasts out every week that we are not going to read your book if you sent us one. I promise we're going to get there. Exactly. Unless we hated it, and then we probably won't. Well, we still might talk about it. I don't know. I don't know. I think we should. So anyhow, so looking at... I think it depends on if it's because we don't...

Okay, it's like how you don't like dark beers. So you can't really review dark beers if you don't like them, right? But I did. Not objectively. No, you're right. And so I just feel like... if I can't be objective about, if I can't be objective about a book because I just don't like, maybe it just doesn't, I don't like it. It just like wasn't my thing. Like I thought I would feel about the horror books that we've read, but I ended up really loving them.

Most of the time that I can think of anyway. And that would be like me trying to review country music. I don't like it. I don't like it at all. I could once in a while, I would, I hear a song that's like, okay, that sounds okay. But. If I had to listen to country albums, I'd probably pull my hair out. I forgot to tell you when I went to that dance thing with my friend.

They told me they'd never done a dance class or anything. And they're like, but it'll be fine. It'll be good. Whatever. They had a great attitude about it. And they're like, as long as it's not country. And I was like. you'd be surprised and they're like maybe i don't want to get into this thing no they weren't they were good but yeah so

Little Teeth Introduction and Creators

Welcome again to another review. But this is our book of the week. And what book is it, partner? The book is Little T. Rory Francis and Jay Barrett. Tell us about... Well, let's see. Rory Francis is a cartoonist and illustrator and is the author of the critically acclaimed Boys Are Slapstick.

Jay Barahad is a writer and editor-in-chief of Zeal. Both live in Seattle, Washington. They created little teeth together from a shared desire to depict a gay little world familiar to their experiences. Actually, not a gay. Little world. What a gay... You just have to break because of your whys. Because of your buffalo accent. Gay little world. Because you can't say gay little world. You say gay little world. Gay little world.

The stories and characters Jay and Rory came up with together reflect their multifaceted feelings on people and relationships, though mostly they like to make each other laugh. That's fabulous. So tell us a little bit about the story. Whether you're trying to work through communication issues with your partner, or you want to impress that emotionally elusive DJ you've been, you have a devastating crush on, relax.

you've come to the right place. A fox girl and wolf boy anchor this collection of stories about a tightly knit yet emotionally chaotic queer community. Emotional chaos, yes! Of the fictional. Oh, of the fictional Pacific Northwest City of Woodlands. Sorry. Each is a struggle. Each is struggling with ongoing relationship trouble, but luckily or not.

They're not alone. Little Teeth is a hilarious and achingly real dip into the lives that make up a particular queer community. Jay Bearhat and Rory Francis expertly depict a snapshot of a generation. The characters are sweet, vicious, vulnerable, self-absorbed, caring and trying to figure out everything from boundaries to what they want out of life. This edition...

collects and completes the acclaimed webcomic for the first time in print. And? I love how I should just tell you I'm sorry. For what? Because I... You had one little stumble and I laughed about it and I had like 10 and you're just like, yeah, that's cool. So I'm sorry. It's okay. The book is $22 and it's from a chap. And you can get chatbooks, CZAPbooks.com. Yes. I believe I got it. You can buy it right there. Yeah, you can get it there. I believe I got it through Radiator Comics.

their distributor and uh this book was uh its color it's multi-color it's pink and black and white yeah It's Pink Throw, right? Yeah. How many pages? A lot. No, it's right here. Let me tell you. Oh, it says mature content. Oh, important information. It came out in 2019. It's 200 pages. 200 pages. Yeah, it's good.

black and white in one color oh my gosh i didn't see i forgot about the drawing in the back six by nine size uh but it's it's good it's a i started reading it i loved it i started reading it and i'm like um

Polyamorous Community and Relationship Dynamics

I'm like, you're probably going to like this Parker. It's like, it's something that you and I have never experienced because we don't have community like that. Neither one of us. I wasn't when I was younger. I was never. I lived with one person for six months, and you lived with me. And what's her name for six months?

We did have, yes. We did have a roommate. V. And technically, your kid lived with us for a short time, too. Your stepkid. I don't think that's not the same. We have kids now, too. I know, but... She was 17 or 18, right? She was in a weird state at the time. I think she was 18. Maybe, yeah. Because we were married already. I think she was living with her boyfriend or something. It was weird. Anyway, we don't have to go into this. Anyway. But I said when I read it, I'm like, this is...

about a bunch of people hanging out, living together, dating each other, going out and they're polyamorous and you see, and you see the people that you broke up with dating other people and you're all go to the same clubs and you're always in the same areas. Cause that.

But it's a small community. I mean, it's not a huge community, right? Right. And that's the thing. So for the most part, you're always going to go to the same clubs in the same places. Clubs. So you're all going to see each other. Do you remember clubbing?

i clubbed a seal michael that's horrible it was a stuffed animal but anyhow it uh yeah so i mean i can see how that would happen if you're always even If you were hetero and you were in this small community and lived, you know, in a small town.

You would end up knowing all the same people and dating the same people. It goes around in a circle. It's like the one kid that I went to school with who's gay and is suddenly friends with my... cousin who's gay who is of the queer persuasion i don't think that he's labeled that um but like

It's weird that they're connected because there's, like, they live on opposite sides of the state. Like, they're not interested in the same kind of things. Yeah, how do they even know each other? I have no idea. I mean, the community's not that small. It is not. They both live in... tiny communities. Well, actually, my friend doesn't anymore, but from tiny community. Anyway, it was weird when I saw that. I was like, why? If you lived in a small, rural community...

you're going to only know so many people that you could date and so many people that you could hang out with. And, and that's how it would be. I didn't even think about that. It could be that like they. they met each other in Grindr or something. Well, I guess that's possible. If you're doing the 600 mile distance. Well, I guess it wouldn't be that. But like, I mean...

It wouldn't be Grindr because Grindr is like, you know, hookup, but OkCupid or I shouldn't say any other dating app. I'll just say that. Because I don't know why I'm like advertising dating apps. Anyhow. Because we're talking about little teeth and polyamory and how they all. Okay. So did you laugh hysterically when you got to the middle part?

Unnamed Characters and Chaotic Living

It was great. They have these photos and then put scrap paper drawings. of the characters on the human bodies, because all the characters are anthropomorphic. I can't say it. Anthro. Okay, I don't want to. And so, we didn't say that, did we? Is that karma for my gay little town? Anyway, it's just like this. Okay, so the main characters, it's kind of a hard book to talk about. I'm finding myself struggling to talk about. It was a webcomic, so they came out with...

Basically a series of these short stories. Oh yeah. Okay. That's not, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about because they don't have names. There's the characters don't have names. That was really, but that was. yes i think like one they give a name to it but it was intentional because you're not you're you're supposed to live right there's it's just describing what they are

Yes. It's not their names. It's just who they are. So I guess I could do that. But then some of them, like, one we were talking about, we weren't sure what the animal was. Isn't that Fox Girl? Is that Fox girl? I thought there was another more foxy looking. Nope. I think you're right. That's, that's Fox girl. Okay. But then is that, is there another Fox person?

But not one of the main characters. Okay. So they're this Polly house and they're talked about, they talk about the Polly house too later on.

they there's this issue with their being their roommates and this person has a bed and um the other i should say character not person because they're not people right and the other um the other uh character doesn't have a bed to sleep in and has been sleeping on the couch and the oh gosh bird i believe it says oh i never sleep in my bed anyway you can sleep there and then

and then when they go to use that bed then they can't because they're actually sleeping in it or they don't feel well or something so it's like there's always it's nothing but chaos and it makes me it like i don't know it it's like How? How do you do this? But I loved it so much. Well, then you got like this. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. Hmm, yes, what's wrong? It's the guy I was dating or hooking up with.

And it's the... And my worst ex together on a date. Oh, my God. And it's the one character that everybody hates. He's like a lizard or something.

oh yeah yeah and nobody nobody seems to that was him that yeah yeah no because he well i mean i we i see if that was one thing i was trying to say like does everybody really not like him or do i not like uh the character and uh so i'm just like putting all my dislike of this character i think it's pointing out that there's always one of these people like in every group that like they try to like be friends with everybody but everybody hates them yeah yeah they do they evict them

But, like, there's club scenes and there's... Well, because it, like... He was buying this show. Oh, that's the other thing that's throughout the show is this. Oh, clips, yeah. Oh, what is it called? Seeking Same. This TV show. An old TV show. It's old. Because the furry first story is... Oh, they're a wolf. Gotta be. I don't think so. Or is that a dog? I thought that was the DJ. Isn't that the DJ? Yeah, I think you're right. Yeah, go ahead.

oh and comes in with this real the real expensive box set that isn't even being made anymore so clearly cost a lot of money but it's okay because somebody paid him to eat bugs So, oh, yeah. Oh, then you find out later. Because he couldn't pay for drinks, right? Because he is broke. And then suddenly, oh, I do have money and I'm going to spend it on this.

But they come in early in the morning and like, okay, let's turn the TV on so we can watch this. Everybody else is sleeping. Why are you bothering? Yeah, see, I don't know if it's early in the morning. I think it's just one of those things that people are sleeping.

Not everybody is like you and wants to be up early in the morning. I don't want to be up, but when you get up at 3.40 in the morning for work, it's hard to not. You are a morning person. I am a morning person. I am not a morning person. I definitely am.

Knock, knock, guess what I found. Okay. Like three people are still sleeping. You're right. It could be any time of the day. There's no clock here, so I can't tell. Could be two in the afternoon. Did you really think there was going to be a clock there? I thought maybe it's a show. It's early morning. It is 5 a.m. See, there you go. I knew it. I want to put a name. It's Lizard. Lizard character. Gecko.

Salamander? It could be. Salamander. Salamander. Yeah, he gets kicked out. That's an interesting feeling to want to put names to characters that don't have names. Yeah.

Dealing with Exes and Friendships

I think I just need to sit in the discomfort. Yeah, I know. I know you want to. But yeah, so there's all these little stories about the people. They're dating, and they're going out, and they're seeing exes, and they're dating new people. What do you do when you see exes?

Oh, I run as fast as I fucking can. Not even... I have never... See, the thing is, we may have talked about this before, but I... When I'm done with the relationship, when it's over... not that i'm done with it but when it's over i'm i'm done and i don't i don't stay friends with people i know some people can do that and sometimes people break up and they stay friends but i have never ever

ever done that now i have gone i think that says a lot about your um never mind i won't say it anyway emotional depth um no i don't think it has anything to do with that at all there's only one person that i i my very first girlfriend that i went back to dating ish after several years but that was it Never did again. In fact, most people that once we broke up, I never even spoke to them again. I think that if you wanted to, there are people that...

There is one specific relationship that I think you could easily have a friendship if you wanted to. But... Previous one that I don't want to have a relationship with? That one? I said if you wanted to. I think that there would be room there to do that. Obviously... the other person would have to be interested too. I'm not saying like, it's all about you, but I feel like, I feel like, I feel like it could happen.

It would take work. I think anytime you want to stay friends with your exes, it takes work, right? Because you broke up for a reason. I know somebody in my life, I will not say who, but somebody in my life who has been in a long-term relationship.

and i know they listen to the show so they'll know i'm talking about them uh told me the only the only way that they would break up with their partner that their partner would break up with them is if they hated each other and then they wouldn't want to be friends anymore so that would be it. And I'm like, huh, could I still be friends with them?

Usually, I think part of the thing is usually when my relationships have ended, either I ended it because I was extremely unhappy with some aspect of it. Or the other person broke up with me, which made me extremely sad. And I had no interest in wanting to continue communicating with that person. That's okay. That's where I end up on this scale here. Yeah. I'm a people pleaser. It's not always a good thing. But I just feel like if there's room there for...

any kind of relationship. And there isn't always. You have. You did talk with some people you dated for a while afterwards. I still do talk to some people that I dated. I mean, if there's... If there's an interest in them beyond just having sex or going out. to dinner or uh dancing or i don't know seeing a movie or whatever like i i would do any of that with friends so why like the only part of that is is the sex and maybe the sex didn't work for whatever reason and

Hey, maybe that isn't what they want out of a relationship either. I don't know where I was going with that. But yeah. I mean, you see some of that in this book.

Little Teeth Art and Inclusivity

You see all kinds of that in this book. A lot of that. Chaotic. The art is very good. It's fun. Oh, my God. I cannot tell you how excited I was to see. I know that they're anthropomorphic, but they have so many different body shapes. I was, yes.

the gender of most of the characters is kind of ambiguous. Like, like, I don't know. Like, and I love that. I, I, that's why I, that's why when like, their naming when when they have the names wolf boy and wolf wolf boy and which one do we name fox girl like i i would hesitate to to

call them that you know unless i know for sure because i don't know like now i know fox is a girl right the fox is a girl i only know that because the that but i think that that's part of it they want they want you to put it into your own, to use your own and connected to your own creativity, which I think is really awesome. And you're right. There are a lot of different and, and different people, different body shapes and sizes dating each other. And.

friends with each other and yeah yeah and they just like dress however they want and you know and it like it just i mean it's the kind of kind of that kind of world you want to i don't know i want to live in it it's chaotic and it's and it's messy and it's life and i don't know it just feels like i don't know it just feels good that's why i love that it's they said

I was reading an interview and I can't remember which one of the creators, whether it was Rory or Jay, but one of them said it was very important.

obviously that uh they they kind of combined like their own life like they they're they they kind of they're friends but like they have their own life experiences and like groups so they kind of like melded their stories together to kind of create these full rounded characters there's a lot of characters yes there is and then maybe that's why they didn't name them all

Yeah, it could be. They all look a little different, so you can tell who the different characters are. Right. You can follow the story. So you don't need to know Paul and Frank and Joanne and everybody's name. Because you, I mean, like, yes, but you, I mean, they really couldn't. I mean, they could, right? They could put the names in and like toss them into conversations. But I almost feel like naming them, giving them names would make it that much more confusing.

because yeah yeah because now you're having to put like unless you're putting name tags on them in every panel you're having you're trying to work names into every conversation and you only have so much room right so i and then you're trying to keep track of who's who and yeah so i think that i think that as much as i think it's just my own

brain that makes it hard for me to discuss it uh the book without putting names to it but i think that i i don't think it takes away from the book in fact i think that it helps the book in that way i did the comics I did... If it was straight black and white, it would have been a little harder, I think. The color does... just does enough separation. Because I did have a little trouble at first figuring out which characters were which.

um yeah i think that but i think it's kind of that way with with any book and because of the way that they wrote it where it's just like you just drop into this community and you're gonna figure out who they are as you go along yeah

And who they've dated. And who they're dating. And that's not a negative. No, not at all. I liked the book. I thought that the stories were fun. And I mean it's kind of that way when you watch any – or watch. When you read any book with multiple characters, you don't – You know, if you're just...

hearing the story from one point of view then that's a little different but but when you're dropped into like you don't know who everybody is you don't know everybody's names right away you kind of have to have to see who's connected and how they're connected and stuff yes if you dropped in in the middle of something um

Dropped in in the middle of Grey's Anatomy. Oh, yeah. It would be. Oh, yeah. It would take a while to forget. I can ask a billion questions. I just want to know what's happening. Yeah. Yeah. It'd be like that. Who's that? There's so many characters and you.

And that's what you were watching it. And every once in a while I'd come in and I'm like, oh, wait, who's that? Are they related to that? Is that the sister's brother's aunt's uncle over there? Wait, why did they say they're sisters? Yeah, exactly. I thought they were trying to kill each other. I don't remember all that. But, yeah. But, no. This is a fun story. Inclusive. Has all kinds of interesting things. And if you've ever been single long enough... To date.

multiple people or if you're polyamorous or polyamorous yes then you you you could understand this and see this and probably see some of yourself or your community oh and even if you don't see the community side of it you know damn well the that anybody can relate to one of the characters. Oh, for sure. For sure. But yeah, it was fun. I enjoyed it. Me too. I loved it. I thought the art was really good too. It's a fun anthropomorphic.

cartoony animal art. And I kind of love the cover where it's like each and every one of them has something different going on. One of them's reading, one of them's taking selfies, one of them's on their keyboard, one's drinking wine or... beer or something. Two of them are kind of napping or, you know, just hanging out and enjoying that. Like, it's just like everybody's doing their own thing. I love it. I loved it. All right.
