Recently, NASA released an animated map of what the oceans would look like if they were drained. You can view this on our YouTube channel as well but this is very compelling as what remains, are what Dr. Parsons calls a river system on the bottom of the ocean floor consisting of the Mid-Ocean Ridge and Trench systems.
