Episode description

First came the East-West divide. Then came the Protestants. Now comes a third divide in the history of the Christian church. And this time, the divide comes in response to the pressures of the cultural power centers, the "zeitgeist," or the humanist Borg that has taken over Western institutions. This time, the divide is centered around Scriptural authority relating to matters of history and ethics. The divide began with what was called "liberalism" or "modernism" in the 1920s and 1930s. But now, it's developed into an all-out war against the horror of Wokism, LGBT-ism, antinomianism, a watering down of the Gospel itself, an undermining of biblical truth and ethics at every level. Even the UMC is splitting apart now. Some of the divide will prove only a thin-coated conservatism . . . developing out of the gross-out factor for having to adopt homosexual behavior among the clergy. But others will actually acknowledge God to be lawgiver, and sin to be a transgression of the law of God . . . and Jesus Christ as the Savior who has come to set us free from the bondage of this sin.
