There are the misguided, the unqualified, the imbalanced, the downright unhealthy and cultic, everything from the sublime and ridiculous. We give a few examples of scripture-stretching and sweeping generalizations that prove unhealthy for the churches, and then outline nine basic principles of sound hermeneutics for the layman.
