So if you're keeping it real on your side of your town, you tune into Gangster Chronicles Gangster Chronic Goals. He gonna tell you how we go. If I lie my nose a girl like Pinocchio, We're gonna tell you to choosing nothing but the gangster chronic Goals. This is not your average show. You're now tuned into the real m. C A day

James and Bix Stairs from the Streets. Hello, we we like to welcome every one to another episode of the Gangster Chronicles podcast. And you know today I don't have my homeboys with me, but that's all good because I am in here with a very very special guests. One of the most incredible producers of this um these last you know, this decade pretty much as ran the two thousands. You know, Sean Gary A K. The pen who produced his for such iconic artists such Nicki Minajs, the Pussycat Dolls.

Us you're Beyonce sing others. Man, how are you doing today? Brother? I'm doing good. Know what's happening to man? Oh Man, I can't call it bro. You know, the first question I gotta ask, man, is you know I'm gonna start off with the basics. Man, how did you get into music? Man? Because I really feel like music chooses people and we got way too many people, you know nowadays chasing the thing. But I think music really chooses those who are supposed to come in. You know. Yeah, I mean no, I'm

gonna be honest with you man. I'm I'm a product of music. Man. You know what I'm saying, Like I was. I mean, music been in my blood man, since I was a child. You know, my story is crazy as hell. You know, like I was one of those kids man that just was annointed. I feel like I'm annointed music. Um My mom was a real one. She was from you know, the struggle. My mom's from Perry Holmes, Atlanta, Georgia. You know what I'm saying, um My mama, Grady baby.

I'm a Grady baby. You know I'm from Camelton Road. Um My mom got had thirteen brothers and sisters. You know what I'm saying. Um My mom was in an orphanage. You know what I'm saying, like, and then my my mom and my dad. You know what I'm saying, they married on Um they met on for McPherson, which is the it's the property that Tyler Perry bought. You know what I'm saying. Um, so my military back then, I end up moving. My mom was raped and left for

dead when I was like four years old. Struggle, bro was like crazy as hell, you know what I'm saying, just as a young man growing up, like being in the hood. You know what I'm saying, like loving, loving his mama and having a brother. And you know, we we you know, we went through the struggle, man, but we made it out. You know what I'm saying. My mom and my dad. You know what I'm saying. We moved to year when I was like six, and um, you know, I end up signing my first record deal

when I was fourteen years old. I was on stage since I was twelve and so blood. You know, I'm an athlete too, you know what I'm saying. So I've been like so, I mean it's the combination of like having a real lass, having real lass parents, um, having structure in the house. My parents didn't give a funk about like can you know, I don't know if I can curse, but but but my parents didn't really give a funk about like whenever all my other friends was

doing or whateverybody was doing outside. It was just my parents were more concerned about me just doing the right fucking thing and like being a stand up guy and being a real person and like, um, and so man, I found myself you know, having Um, I was just really blessed, you know, to be honest with you, like I probably I wasn't looking at life, you know what I'm saying, reference to my monetary values and things and ship that I was, you know what I'm saying, gaining

from that perspective. I was looking at my experiences just like I had some health fought experiences, you know what I'm saying, like moving to your Europe and six years old, and like you know, like saying, like why the funk am I in Europe? Like I'm sucking my in Germany? Like what does this mean? Yeah? Man? And so like you know, that's why I'm so hands on with my kids, you know what I'm saying, Like my my, my, my life man, was very um, it was very serious. You

know what I'm saying. As far as like I was one of them kids, it took everything serious, bro, Like I I didn't take ship for a joke, you know. I my mama didn't played the radio, and I ain't played the radio. You know what I'm saying. She taught me that like life was real and like you know, your decisions and every uh, every decision that you make

in life. You know what I'm saying, it's going to determine your outcome, right and and then and then there's also added on top of that, what God's perspective of your outcome it's gonna be. You know what I'm saying is so it's it's a whole bunch of other things going on in your life that's beyond you. But at the same time, you can only control what you can control. But at the same time, like adding adding what your decisions are can also affect you, you know what I'm saying.

And so I had the opportunity to go to Europe and as six years old and grow up there man and learn different languages, man, and travel the world man and see different people families like see you know, I got a chance to like I got a chance to see life outside of my hood, you know what I'm saying, at a really young to the point where I can understand it, Like you know, people in my hood was was was struggling with certain things that other people in

their HUDs wasn't struggling with. You felt me like, your hood is where you're from, you know. And some people always sort of like, you know, title the hood as like the struggle, but really your hood is where you're from, you know what I'm saying. And like and like I always look at I feel like life is what you make it, Like life is how you see it. And so I was just a kid man who kind of saw the lights of the world as an opportunity, you know what I'm saying, Like, I just saw the world

as an opportunity. Man. I saw like, I don't feel like I had to go rob or still or kill or hurt nobody to mothercking be successful, or to be creative, or to be amazing, or to be immaculate, or to be strong or to be you know, in strength, or to be with God. I ain't see none of that ship necessary for me to do that, you know what I'm saying, All of those things that I wanted to be.

I felt like I can be that without heard the people, you know what I'm saying, And like, honestly, man, I's so happy with my I'm happy with my life because my life is a testament that helping people is. You could be as successful, You could be more successful than anybody you can ever imagine, because my music is gonna lift forever, you know what I'm saying, Like every day, every day in the world, you're gonna hear one of my songs. And my songs ain't just me singing my song,

is me passing on to other people. You know what I'm saying. That's strengthening their life, that's taking care of their just taking care of their families. But at the same time they can they're touring off those songs, Like those songs are playing in different um countries, those songs playing on it. So it's like it's like that's a gift, you know what I'm saying. Like, like, so people are like touring off those records. Some people are excited off

those records. Some people are changing their lives off those records. Some people it's like getting a house that those records. Some people just having fun off those records, like all

of that ship is just like a beautiful thing to me. Man, It's like, you know, that's my gift, and I feel more, Um, I feel more excited about that than anything, Like I can't I can't be more happier and more pleased to just know that I have a gift that I can get to the world and I can continue to give it over and over and over and over and over again, and people appreciate it and respect it, and then sometimes they don't even be noticed it came for me, but

then they find out. But like, damn, if people don't even knowing, they be enjoying your your work, you know what I'm saying. So I'm just thankful for that. It's definitely you know what, I've always told people this and some people get it, but some people look at me like I'm crazy. Music is a very spiritual thing. It gets you in different moods, like you know, like, um,

I got a son who plays college football. You know, he plays for USC and you know, I'm just listening to some of the music he us to listen to in high school. You know, they would play Chief Keith before every game and they would just going there and they would put them in a certain zone, the same thing, you know, like with on one of the records you did, Yeah music, our time music is almost like a time cap. So like certain songs take me back to where I

was at that moment. Like whenever I hear the Year record, I can remember exactly what I was doing when I first heard that record, and I knew. I said, man, that's a serious record right there, and it was like, but when I hear that song, it takes me back to that experience, whatever experience I was having that day, it takes me back to it. Yeah, you know, which brings me to this man, when did you realize you

were special? Because you know, some people have gifts, right, and it may take them a while the polishing or whatever, or to wait for that proper opportunity to introduce theirselves. When did you know for a d certain in your head like man, I'm the coldest motherfucker out here. Can't no party funk with me on the pin? When when was that moment with records that come with hey, you know what man, like no, I'm gonna keep it all

the way reund with you. I knew where yeah, bro, because because yeah, it was the record that all of these people, like these people man was treating me fucked up. I'm gonna keep it. I'm gonna be real like like they were, they were, they was fucking treating me. I'd have been through a lot of ship, man, I've been through a lot of ship. Let's talk about it. Bro. I'm I'm a real like I'm a real nigger, bro. But day niggas took them do ship. Bro. It's like,

fucker's took me through ship, bro. So it's like ship ship is. It's rewarding, you know what I'm saying, Ship rewarding because like like it's almost like you know, something's like a nigga like like like leave you like like a nigga leave me for dead, like motheruckerl be like you know, it's like you know, you go through ship in the hood, Like you go through ship, you'd be like, damn, I could have died that night. You know what I'm saying.

I could have not made it or I could have Like I'm a I'm a person that takes ship personal. You know, I take ship personally. You know what I'm saying. Like a Nike work extent, you have to do an extent you have to take stuff personal. You know one of my Yeah, I'm from the fucking struggle, man, like, and you know that's why I like I be telling people. Man, it's like, man, don't play with people. Don't play with people, man, because you don't know motherfucker's be going through. You don't know,

you don't know what people be going through. Man, It's like, motherfucker's be trying you and you like, you're working, You're working your ass off you. You know what I'm saying, You're giving your heart, putting your work in exactly. Like I'm just I'm just like I'm just I'm I'm just mentioning. You know what I'm saying, Like because I know what the ship felt like. I feel like I know where

they feel like because I put in my work. Bro. Motherfucker' was still It's like Nigga was playing Niggers playing with me, Bro, they's playing with me. But it was like I just you know, I just knew that, Like you know, I just had to keep working through it, had to keep working through it. And um, I just knew, man, I was out there on that field. I'm an athlete, Bro, I knew I was out there on that motherfuck field I was putting that work. You know, motherfucker's is just

like playing with me. So I just knew I had to. I knew I had to. I had to speak to the consumer. You know what I'm saying that people who buy the tickets. You know, I had to just get to the to the people who who who who buy the tickets? And uh it was hard. You know sometimes it's hard, like I you know, I know how people feel like you know, and when you are here busting your asks, you're trying to you don't see you're trying to You're trying to win. Some thiggas be front and

trying to be all hard and all that. Ship. Man, winning is a winning It is a desire winning. So I knew. Man, like everybody think like you know, like some thiggs think of cocky is fuck, don't think of cocky. I don't give a funk like because I'm not cocky. I'm just confident because I then don't know my story, don't They just don't know what I had to go through. And much you real quick, bro, not to cut you off. I have a friend that's a songwriter, right, I ain't

gonna say his name, he's a um. He's a rapper primarily, but he writes great songs, right you know, he's wrote with Timberland and all these guys. Right early on when he was trying to get on, he was a seventeen year old kid in Atlanta and he told me, when I told him I was gonna interviewing you, he said, Bro, that's one of the coolest brothers ever. I met him when I was sixteen in Atlanta. Told him what I did and he said, man, he bro told me, I like your spirit. He got my number, and he said

it was the first thing he said. You gave him hope to continue pushing because he was getting treated pretty shitty at that time. You know, he was getting bounced around up at Interscope from label to label. You know, first they had him with on Will I Am, then he was with Timberland, then they sent him back to What I Am. So he said he was just really discouraged, man. And he said that you, he said, even though y'all never got to really work together, you never fronted on them.

How important is that on you? Man? Were when you're dealing with an artist, man, you know, you get a lot of people that you know, everybody wants an opportunity, right, and you can't give opportunity to everybody just it's not enough time in the day. So when you have someone that approaches you looking for something, how did you deal with that? What did you tell them? Yeah? Yeah, I don't know why the fund this. I don't know why. I don't know why this ship is. Its sucking so

emotional to you right now? What like, man o, don't no, man, I'm just having that. This's just so many biggest dad roads, Like it's a lot of niggas losing their life and you know, I just feel like a lot of niggas man not to respect each other. Man. It's like niggas don't respect your heart work. Like I've never been a nigga looking for sympathy, but I always respecting the niggas grund, bro, I always respect that people working hard. You know. That's

my parents always taught me. Man. It's like, you know, I ain't never stole from a nigga, bro, I ain never I never robbed the nigga like that ain't never been my fucking vibe. But my theory was like I'm always hot work, motherfucker. So when I see they is put at working in that ship. Is it's real to be because Bro has so many fucking days, so many days that I just you know, I was feeling, Man, I wasn't. I wasn't fucking winning, but I but I didn't.

But I didn't give a funk about not winning. I ain't. I knew funk I'm not winning. I gave a funk about keep on working. I gave a funk about that. And um, yeah, man, I don't know who that right there you're talking about. Man, I ain't never niggas K never say that, Bro, brob me Nick. He never say hey, like, oh we show respect the niggas. But that's what he's said, Bro, he said because at that time, you know, you're one of the biggest people in the game, Bro. You respected

by everybody man, and you write great music. Man. Right time was classic music. So you know, for him bucking to you at that time, it was just the energy that she gave him. It's like he didn't necessarily need gonna record, just somebody saying I'm going to possibly give you an opportunity. You know, it's you know, it's it's emotional for me because true, I haven't seen nigga struggle man, Um, and I know the game you're like, I know, I know how people try to remix Ship and UM trying

to play you. I've been that nigga. I've been that nigga Man. I just never Um, I never wanted to. UM. I learned early, like you know, uh, be focused, and I knew that it was never never never, Like you know what, I'm so disappointed, you know what the deal sean, and not to cut you off, bro, because I'm feeling you've got my spears after bout working in the music publishing industry, man, And it's like the game is just

designed the fuck young people over, Bro. And it's like, um, you know, you know it's almost like this industry, Man, just from its inception, has been designed to kind of like funk. Aren't people in particularly over you know what I mean? Um, you never really know who truly making these records sometimes because somebody else putting their stamp on it, Bro, or they're taking your ship and they twisting the words up. They got fifty million people writing on the song, but

the majority of ship they're used in the shorts. Then you know the splits ain't never right. And that's just some of the stuff I saw coming from the industry. Man. That's why I always tried to not tried. I was always honest with people. And I've never stole, never from nobody. Man. I've never put my name on those ship that wasn't mine. And it's a it's a funked up part of my language. Man, it's a funked up business. With that being said, when you come into this business, man, you better have God

in your heart because the devil is running the playground. Yeah, I mean, you gotta you know what you know. You gotta you gotta know your you gotta know your you have to know your business. Um. Um, you have to know your normal. I'm so sorry, man, give me one second this We're gonna be able to get busy in one second. I'm just it's just had a session coming and I have to make sure everybody get in. Um. But I say, you know, yeah, I mean, it really is fucked up. But you know you can't. Um. It's

like the streets. You know, the music businesses like the streets, but it's a little bit more intricate than the streets, because you know, a person can try to hate on you and try to silence you without killing you physically. You know what I'm saying. You gotta know how to respect your abilities to the point and perfect your abilities to the point where you know you gotta be able to compete. And you know, I've seen so many people

man sadly. I mean, you know, you they'll be asking for advice, but then when you when you give them the truth. You know, it's like, I know the fucking truth. I'm trying to give you the truth without killing myself too. You know what I'm saying. I'm trying to get the truth without like being a bitch ass nigga or snitching. Like you know, it's just like I'm just telling you what the funk it is like when you come into a new game, like but people don't come into this

game with common sense. Common sense is understanding you're in a game. You're in a fucking game that it makes a lot of money. You know what I'm saying. And it's it's a it's a it's a it's a it's

a business. But people walking here, man, with these egos, they're walking here with this other ship like somebody owe them something, and it's like a nigga, be really trying to just download to you, Like, hey, I'm just trying to give you some game so you can understand how the motherfucker take this game and do whatever the funk you want to do with it. You know what I'm saying, Like, that's what I'm saying, Like it's emotional for me because

I just think I'm just thankful for gotten. I was in my right mind, bro to understand what the funk I was seeing. I saw what I saw, I knew what I knew. I understand, But I was just trying to prepare myself to be able because you know what a lot of people don't know, Man, I lost my mama. My mama died there a year before I became really successful, and that was really my hero, Like my mom was my hero. You know. It's just you know, examples nigga, like examples like that, Damn, Like I'd be trying to

tell these people my mama was my example. She wasn't my example because she was a nigger. She was my example because she was a woman. You understand what I'm saying, Like she was a woman who bore a nigga, who was a strong nigga. You know what I'm saying that she empowered you know what I'm saying, Like, my mama empowered me. My mam had been through ship, you know

what I'm saying. I've seen people like trying to disrespect my MoMA, you know what I'm saying, But my mom was strong enough to People don't really inspect what they expect, man, when they're coming to us, Like when they come into an industry or opportunity in a situation, man, you know, they're coming here with with the wrong attitude. It's like you could fucking end up losing like completely everything you got because you came in here with a different type

of perspective. That doesn't That doesn't work. You gotta inspect, so you know, if you go to a fucking I only want to use the example of like being on the block of the ship, but I'm just gonna say, like, if you're going to any new school, you're gonna learn what the fun is going on. If me, if it was me, I'm gonna learn what's going on in the school before I even go to the school, so I can understand what's going on, you know what I'm saying.

And some people coming to this game, man, they don't they don't take the time to inspect what they expected, they ended end up in a situation to where they did just looking at it from a perspective like, Okay, I can make me some money on doing shows. Once that ship stopped, you fucked right. The other part about this game is like understanding that hits run this game, hit records make this ship go round, right, you know so? But also it's morals. It's also morals, you know what

I'm saying. Morals go a long way too. Money. Money don't money all money and good money. And I tell people all the time, especially younger artists. I tell them because you know, you talk to these guys and you don't want to kill their dreams. But all they seem to be fixated on is the money sometimes, and I tell them that money doesn't necessarily guarantee your happiness. It doesn't. They don't guarantee your happiness. I know a bunch of

miserable millionaires, man, but they'd be scared. Like I was just man, I was around the artists last night, man and ship fun my whole fucking night up. Man, they ain't gonna lie, man, I was like, you just be trying to like man, you know what people don't get like they'd be expecting you to come into their world. My nigga, how can not come into your world when your world is where you at? But i''ve seen the entire world about twenties times. M hm. That ain't no

disrespectful ship. But some people are like, are you trying to bick dog me? You trying to goddamn put me down? Like like I'm nobody, No, no, no, lord, You're fucking like like cool it, motherfucker. I'm trying to explain to you, like, hey, this ship, it's not what you're doing. Like the way you're looking at it, you're gonna lose. I have nothing

to gain by giving you this information. That is the best information you could possibly get because there's nobody on your team is gonna tell you this because you know what, everybody your team kissing your ass. Everybody's you ain't got nobody in your motherfucker count that no ship number one. That no, that no way. I know. Secondly, they're trying to block I mean you know, like why are you saying that? It's the fucking truth. I'm trying to help

you understand. Like and so if there's somebody said that you and me, bro, we would need to take a person. I wouldn't take that ship personal. I'm like, man, this mother talking to some ship. I need the motherfucker be attention to. You can always throw that ship in the trash can when you get outside. Like, if it's somebody's telling you some ship, you me wait, just like, hey, man, let me least take it, evaluate it and the ship that I don't think that works for me. Let me

throw that ship outside. But yeah, that's real. Well, you know one thing my mom used to tell me, man, she still always tell me that some people a lie is way more convenient than the truth. A lot of people just want their egos correst and they don't want

to hear the truth. You know, like, um, when you tell an artist, man, um, because you know, the thing that you should trip me out is people that will come to me and say they want a record deal, and I would the needs will be people that have incredible buzzes, and I would be like, you know, all they're going to do is give you a loan. That

that's that's really equivalent to you. You know, you ever seen those paid check advanced places where they advanced people and the hood money against the next paid check and they never get out level. I know, motherfucker's broke it up so millions of records and they tell they haven't recouped. I've known, really telling the writers, some of them that have made some of the most the best records of our generation, they're not around no more because they just

don't know how to play the game. And you know, when you get that one person in that office that has that power to say, hey, man, I'm gonna cut this dude's water off just because I can, they can and they will do so. And it's just it's something how strong your mind else man, and how spiritual you are on whether you're able to deal with this is not It's not made for everybody, and it's definitely not

made for the weak of heart. And with that me and with with that what we me saying that, bro, Do you have any instance, man, to where you saw somebody first hand trying to really like impede on your intellectual for property, trying to pass some bullshit over on you. Do you have one of those stories? Um man? That's every day. You know, people, your intellectual property is your motherfucking mind, My motherucking minds my intellectual property. So people

always gonna try to impede on your mind. Man. People try to impede on your kids. People try to manipulate your children to to to work against you. You know what I'm saying, motherfuckers are trying to find any kind of weakly possible to break you down. But but the but the perspective is, you know, it's just always being prepared, man, being ready, man, just thinking about you know, the thing, the impossible. Like the same way I thought about the impossible to try to win is the same way I

think about the impossible. To protect myself, it's to continue living the same way that I approach. You know. It's a it's a philosophy, you know, And I've been Philosophy has been a word this week that I has been continuously coming up in my in my world. Know what I'm saying. It's like, you gotta have a fucking philosophy. And your philosophy don't have to come from you. Your

philosophy can be be borrowed from grades. You know, like when some people say, like, hey, man, jay Z named you the pen, Like what does that mean to you? It means fucking everything to me. Um Jay Z never did nothing but positive ship for me, you know, honestly, Um, I'm gonna be honest ship. I don't know if I did everything I was supposed to do that like, you know, like pay him back. I don't know. I don't know if I did everything I was supposed to do to

pay Beyonce back. But I just know every opportunity that they gave me, I did my fucking best. You know you mentioned j Z because I haven't met whole personally yet. I know some people have there with him and they say he is an amazing human being. He really is, man, you know. And um, you know, some people be named you know, some people be mentioning people names and ship on some cloud ship. But this ship, I really see

this ship. I really did. Like that Nigga really did with me and give me an opportunity to go fucking crazy, like after I went crazy, you know what I'm saying. After I was going nuts, you know what I mean? Like those people, Man, don't people like to see people happy. I ain't gon a lot like they do. People can say whatever the fun they want to say. The people really like enjoying people going to funk off. They really do. They like to see people winning. They like to encourage

people to grow. They really do. And that's all they gave. They gave me a look like they had to give me a motherfucking thing. You had to give me this much, bro, They gave me that much. The motherfucker like, hey, whack do you she? They count? Why? God why? I just got in that motherfucker just went nuts because the people are just like a man and just do your thing. God dog, okay, because you know what it's almost like, man, you gotta meet a person where they meet you. Man,

I knew the funk. I was meeting Beyonce. Now me beat Nigga. I was beating. I was meeting Beyonce. I wasn't trying to get ready. I was fucking ready. Yeah with the queen. Man, I wouldn't even playing the game. I wann't playing the game I'm talking about. This was destiny child. I was like that Beyonce girl is cheap black.

And it was the other girls too. Everybody knew their part, like you know, everybody knew their position, man, everybody like Kelly, you know what I'm saying, baby girl, Like all of them they knew they like but schell everybody knew, they knew their position, bro. So I was in there trying to just shoot, shoot, shoot fucking shoot shoot for of stars man. And so you know, I don't even like this. I don't even like the I don't be I ain't into that now mentioning the names and ship man, but

you know, you know it's kind of horrible names. You're working with some credible people. Not to cut you off. It's all my not it's all I know. Like I'm not Cloud. It ain't no cloud popping over here. That's all the funk I did, Like I came outside knocking mother, like I came outside doing that. They just think, you you know, my first ten singles from how one hundred

number one period period. My black people don't. My black people do not realize that I like, I'm like one of the most successful song wright produce of my generation. Straight the funk up, Like, straight up, let's tap in in real quick with the people that allowed us to bring you this amazing content. Like I said at the

beginning of the show, is undisputed, bro. And you know, if you're working with so many iconic artists and you being an iconic writer, artist and producer, when you look at a new artist, because we're gonna talk about the opportunities that you give us some lucky somebody's right. Yeah, when you when you like, when you're talking to an artist, what is the first thing that gravitates what makes you decide if you can work with somebody or not? Well, I'm in here on the job, so ain't no decision

on whether I can work with him or not. I'm working with him, that's number one. You know what I'm saying, Like, sometimes you gotta humble yourself to the perspective, from the perspective of like it's my job. See, I'm not talking about that established person, bro, I'm talking about that person that's brand new. I'm talking about that when I went with like like give me a plan. Example, Like when I went to like Sierra was sixteen turning seventeen. You

know what I'm saying. And I ain't never gonna take that from CC. But she didn't know. She just didn't know. I knew. I knew, I knew what to give her to say, I knew what to tell her to do. You know what I'm saying. But I understand the ego ship and all that. You know what I mean people you want to got down make it seem like they knew because your biggest ship was your first ship. I get all that, but the real is c C go over there and sit right there, shut out for a second.

McGee is work. That's what the funk happened. Like, let's stop playing because Brown, Let's stop playing like McGhee, this is fucking work now. I nigga, you incredible. I'm gonna give it to you like four five times. And you know, nigga, you the truth. And look, Chris Brown, nigga truck Brown the truth, that niggative natural natural born truth. Like Chris

Brown is the natural born truth period I'm talking about. See, there's a different like people try to compare it, like they asked me, like, hey, Sean, what do you think about comparing Usher to Chris? I can't. Usher was sucking Usher when I got a chance to do. Yeah, And Chris Brown, nobody knew him, broke that Black is the natural born truth. Aesthetically, he could catch a ball off the rim to put that motherfucker like and and and go double pump that bitch when you throw it up there.

He just he got it. He that he and he flied. That's a fly. Little nigger just a problem. He's just a problem. And so me. I think people got a problem with understanding why this thing is just like it's so cool with giving people love. M man, I love every fucking body, bro that I had a chance to work with everybody, because what they don't realize that I'm here for a purpose. They're here for a purpose and we all do different things. I love what I do

so motherfucker much. I know I can't nobody to do what the funk I do better than what I do because I love it that much. I don't love being them. I don't want to be there. Mo. Folker asked me all the time, Hey man, you think it was a song that you wanted to keep yourself? Okay, how about because I need creative for me. It wasn't creative for me. It was it was creative for them. And I want to see them fly. I don't gonna they fly around the moon a million times. That's for them what God

got for you. I'd be happy for people, man, I'd be happy for people. Live your life, man, live you do you that's your ship, Man, don't gonna. I ain't never wanted another niggas girl. Elma, I never in my life wanted another niggas girl. Man. Never, they'd beat me bad as hell. They might be got damn that, but by by ship, you got something but that but you but it's fine. But I don't want nobody else's check, man. I want my ship. I want my check. I'm gonna

earn my ship. Did you know how hard that is for some people, man, to give away some of those records that you're giving people. Most artists like, I'm gonna keep this for myself, And that's why they can never advance as a better producer, because everything they do they see I'm gonna keep for me, and you are They're just like, here, take this. I want to see you go shine, man. I want to see that, man, because you know what, Man, we're not going there to work

on motherfucking anybody. When I was going there working on Chris, I want to think about me. Well, I'll think about Chris. Damn Chris. How long is your arms? Damn how fast you run? Damn? Well you jump goddamn you get jumped. Ship. I'm in there doing that check check, check, check, I'm check. I'm just checking boxes because that's my fucking job. I'm in there to build a fucking Ferrari. I'm not in there to own that farrupt. That's not my Ferrari. That

ain't my Ferrari. I can go find buy me any kind of Ferrari, won't but I don't want that one because you know what, that's somebody else's ship, and I don't enjoy stealing. I don't enjoy borrowing. I don't enjoy that ship. I enjoy seeing people happy in their own life. Maybe that's I don't know why I feel like that, but I'm cool with that. I'm so fucking cool with it. But I'm not gonna let the motherfu abuse me. I'm not gonna let nobody misuse me. I'm not gonna let

nobody like play me. But at the same time, if the ship makes sense, Lars, think stuff, because I know you have a thing right now, man, where you're launching your own label, correct, right? Yeah, So so we launching this new label, bro. We got a new label that we launched and it's called Hey Young World, and basically, Hey Young World, man, it's about um. You know, it's

a new label man that we that we launched. You man, looking for a new artists that you know have sort of sort of like um same people that sort of have the same perspective of what what what I You know, like, in my mind, I saw myself being alleged, but I never talked about it. I never said I'm gonna be a legend. I never said any of that ship man, like I ain't gonna lie. Man. I was fucking spooked um when I first worked with death c Chall But

did I know I was the fucking truth? Yeah, I knew it was the truth from I knew I was running a three nine when these niggers are running a full eight. I knew that I knew I was. I knew I was on the ass nor but I can't say it because I realized that, you know, these people, they very like they're so fucking um emotional, you know what I mean, and and disrespectful and like sneaky, like you know what I mean. So I just had to

just be part. I just had to be patient, even people that knew like you being there bussing your ass, man, motherfucker's just a watch you goddamn sitting there and work your ass to death to the point where you just like, I know how they gave these motherfucker's. I know I just gave him for I just know I gave him folks when I finished, I ain't doing no more records broke. You know. They had some of the big ones man trying to I'm never forgetting you know, mentioned nor name. Man.

Maybe this one artist motherfucker trying to sund me. Man Like, hey, man, I need you to redo the song, like, I don't rewrite no motherfucking's song. Did you hear the song? That's what it is? Is that still around? Ye? Yeah, that motherfucker icon. Now I went good. I went good never, But you know why because I eat my dog. But man, that's why I play you. If you got down't let him, you know what I mean? Like, you're like, man, they'll play with you, man, if you let them. That's why

I mean. You gotta get your footing, you gotta get grown. You gotta grow up up in this game. Man, this ain't a fucking game. People. You can't finess. A lot of people come in this game trying to finest for nest finest. No, you know better than that, man, You've been around this ship. Man, this ain't a for next game. You could try to. But when you're finest, you're gonna end up having to fucking pay for that finesse. You don want to pay for it. I don't want to

have to. I ain't going back, man, trying to have to pay for ship like that. I'm gonna get the truth every time. I'm gonna come with the truth. I'm gonna build it on the truth. I'm gonna build it on the laws. And people don't understand that life is gravity has laws of gravity. Science has the laws of science. Winning is a lot of fucking winning. One of the laws of winning is losing. But people want to fucking argue all the time. I'm not I with nobody, man,

I ain't gonna argue with you. I would have been to this light seven times. I have pulled up to this like seven times. You ain't never even came down the street before. But you want me to argue with you, argue with you. I ain't argue with you. I'm gonna let you sit there and go down that motherfucker street on your own and figure that shoot out yourself. That's what I have learned about life. Because when you love somebody, man, today people take your love for granted. People take your

your kindness for weakness. Mother fucker's thank you fucking weak because you're a real motherfucker. You're like a man, I care about this. They always want you to motherfucker like. People are always trying to look for your weakness. Man, They always trying to look for your weakness to play on it. That's a sad motherfucker. That's sad. Man. I don't play with people. I don't play with people time. I don't play with people kids. I don't play the

fucking radio. I don't play about ship. I'm always gonna keep you, motherfucker. I don't play by motherfucker's. They don't play with people, man, because then people are saying people that you when you when you play, when you play with ship, you're playing yourself. I ain't for to play with nobody. I ain't playing with ship. That's real ship. Now, with with this new venture that you launching, are you looking for a hundred just R and B singers? Are

you looking for rappers? Are you looking for rock and road people? Is it across all the spectrum, the whole spectrum of music. So what we did we partnered up with my heart right, we parted over my heart and um and basically you know we're doing this, um, we're doing this looking for legends um talent search, you know what I'm saying. And I'm so thankful to our heart man that they were so kind enough to partner with us. Man. And basically, you know, it's like we're looking for legends.

Looking for legends means we're looking for artists who have to have have a bit more than somebody who's hot. You know what I'm saying, I'm not interested in looking. I ain't really interested in the motherfucker that's hot. I'm interested in person that understands how the motherfucker perform, how to sing, how to work, how to think, how to earn you know what I mean. It's those values, man,

it's those laws man. You know I mean, you can go, you go a long way with a person who got some common motherfucker says versus the motherfucker ain't got no sense, you know what I'm saying. Like a person that's hot, man, at the moment, that's cool. All this ship is cool. And you know that as as as Dr King Us say, everything has his everything has his value, everything has his moment, you know, everything, everything has his moment and this time.

But you know, you got to think about what's import to you, what's import to you the short man and alone win. And I've seen so many people man that I started out with. Man, old folks. Man, the motherfucker's going in ten into ten. I can't find him. I can't see him. I saw under three thousand men and the motherfucking Target, and I was like, man, stacks, man, what the funk? Man like? I just bro please like he just like man Sean, I don't want to be the old last rapper. Man. That ship sucked me up.

Bro h three thousand one of the greatest of all time. Man, But you know that's how you know how real that is what he said? Man, Man, that ship made me cry. What I swell the God that ship made me crying. That's sucking real ship. And nigga love this ship so much. Man, they gonna want to be a bit You understand what that means. That niggas don't understand what that means. They get just man. So I just thinker coming down to Elep motherfucker escalator, I was like, damn that oh you

know fucking old lass crap. Damn they just brought me to tears. Man, nigga love this ship. Man, and the nigga's out here playing with opportunities. I don't play with people. Man, don't play man. He mother can play too much. Man. Man, Man, you're a great brother. Man. I can feel your energy and your spirit. Man. For those people out there that want get at you by that don't mean that this man, want your spam in this page with a bunch of

stuff for people that's interested. Man. For those artists out there, man interested manner throwing they had in the ring, how can they do that? Man? And you can always you know, you can get at me. Man up Sean Garrett the pen Man. My instagram is Sean Garrett depin um. You can find your way to get at me. Man. You could d m me or give me on Instagram Man, Sean Garrett. Man, I just want to help as many people man on as earth man as I can before I live my fucking man, Si Man, I think God

for a long time. Man. Yeah, but it's just like it's just too many kids, man, just sucking their life off. Man. Bullshit, Man, like over bullshit, you know what I mean? Like, you know you gotta look at ship like I was trying to tell him, like, study man, study, study why this ship started steady James Brown. Man, Study what James Brown went to. You know what I'm saying that man was able to got them started own radio station, or you know what I'm saying, Like he was he was not

an anomaly, you know what I mean? He was. He was he was ahead of his time, but he was also ahead of a generation. He was ahead of a nation, he was head of a pissed me off, he Man, I'm just I'm just a person in this. I'm just I'm just a person at this time that's trying to do my partner. That's all I can do. Man, It's just this just pissing me off. Because we always cried by opportunity. We're always asking people to give us a chance. We always asking the ship, always fucking asking the ship.

And then when we get the opportunity, Man, want to suck it out. Whenever you see a little light, I want to get so happy. Man. To the point, man, where you misused and and abuse your your your your influence. Your influence is not just to make mockery and make money. That's not what the influence is all about. Influences about understanding how to help not just your people, but to help all people. You know what I'm saying, help all people. Understand exactly as much as you can. That's it. It

ain't like I'm preaching, because I'm not. I'm not preaching, But I want to do something more with my talent, man than just got damn talk about what the funk out of did? It ain't about that, but I want motherfucker to understand the philosophy. It's the philosophy, man, It's the philosophy of being told you couldn't do it. That's part of it, right, That's the struggle. But then when you get past it, being able to say, hey, you know, the biggest told me I ain't looked like I was

supposed to see. Motherfucker's told me you know, nigga, you look like a boxer. Think I can see it. Tell your me, motherfucker reasons why motherfucker's like I wasn't supposed to make it? Ain't you fuck? Because because I know I know that, like I was put here for a purpose, so given given you know what. A many times I see artists cry, fail, get dropped, and she don't make me feel good that you don't make me feel it doesn't make me feel good because I know their life

sucked up. I know their life sucked up. I know what it's like because I don't see show me the artists sucked up. Bro, every every artist need Beyonce, every artists ain't fucking gonna make it. And I'm just like, hey, man, stop being an asshole at the time. You don't have to be an asshole. You know what I'm saying. Don't don't don't be an asshole down. This ain't the time

you win it. Don't be an asshole. Take this time, take this opportunity, take this money, whatever you make it, whatever you're doing, whatever you feel like is you know, you feel like you're popping in whatever bags and ship you carried and all that other ship, whatever car you're driving. Man, take this sees this moment, you know what I'm saying, and think about what you want to do with the rest of your life. And that's that's all I'm trying to do. Man. Being a songwriter, I take the you know,

being a you know ship being. Um. I liked the idea of being a songwriter sometimes because I don't have to deal with the pressure of trying to be some motherfucker I'm not. I ken't stand that. I hate trying to be who the funk ain't and Nick pull up on me. Man, see me, ma'am, same thing every day. Man, hold that thought, brother, We'll be right back. Let me ask you this, bro, how often do you think that goes on? I kind of know the answer to that, but I want the people to hear you. I want

to hear what's your response, heals? How often do you think artists are asked to change who they really are as a person? Man, I'm gonna be honest with you, A lot of times. Motherfucker's don'ta be asking the artists artist beeap motherfucking to be on the bullshit artist be out here trying to change who the funk there is. If you just stay focused on what the funk you do, person ain't gonna sign you. The psychologist is a person, ain't gonna sign you trying to be one person to

try to change you to that other person. If that was the case, they want to sign you in the first motherfucking place. Artist getting away, The artists be getting away from what the funk they signed up to do. Man, I'm gonna tell you. I'm gonna tell you Shine, I've seen crazy ship. I've seen motherfucker's make it and turning the gang Bangers. I've seen motherfucker's make it and just like a number of things that you'd be wondering, Like, Dude, these guys that you want to go hang out with

is trying to get where you're at. They're not trying, and you want to come down and where do you at? Man? They don't make no sense. Yeah, did you ever try to talk to those guys who do dumb ship like that? No? I know exactly what you said. I know exactly what you're saying right now, and I talked to you off note, But you and I know the same people who are that incredible and it hurt me to my heart. Man, I don't know. I don't know how to not what

I mean? What can I say? You know? Like I told you last night, Man, it's like sometimes man, artists out here, Bro, some amazing it's amazing artists that has the potential. You know, you gotta believe in help. You know what I'm saying help Help is not a bad word. And I'm gonna tell you something, bro, because I love our people, Bro. I think we're the most talented people

in the world. We don't use the platform to tear brothers down, but I always tell the truth from like like you know you like, I see Soldier Boy does this thing. Soldier Boy, he had his run, he does this. You know, he does his thing. Man. I like some young black people get money and be successful. I really, man, and I think he's still got action. Man. I really thought that Chris Brown was gonna be the Michael Jackson of this fucking generation. That boy is a bad motherfucker dog.

And I wish I wish because he's a chrome man, Bro, But I wish I could talk to that brother. Man. I wish I could talk to him, man. I wish I could tell him, man, hey, because you know what, man, we all ain't none of us perfect, Bro, But that motherfucker gives me els, Bro when I see him. He's that bad dog and that talented man. He's a cold motherfucker dog. And you know, if I compare motherfucker to Mike Dog, that means you a bad motherfucker. Hey, Man,

that's my brother. I pray for him every day. I spent some amazing times for Chris Um. I love him man. I just love him. Man, I love him. I love to his court. Yes, Sean, and I would never try to get you to say nothing against him, Chris Brown, this ain't nothing against you, brother, of anything. I'm getting your flowers. You are a bad man. Do what you came here to do, Bro, and use those talents man to God gave you man to be a blessing for

the world. I'm gonna tell you, man, I've been working with a lot of at a bit blessed man or what with a lot of people in that heat A natural one truth. But man, you know the ship. I don't know what you can do that need the truth true. I love him man like he you know, it's like that nigger man has so kind of he's just a kid too at the same time like he like a kid like not like a kid like like saying some negative shit about him. You just you know, like a

chumming and thinking like a it's just like a great person. Man. He just has like you know, his ways of like justin it's just dope. Man, I ain't in his you know. I you know it's like you learned like you just have sometimes Man, you just stay out of nigga away. But then you know that's the hurtful part too, Like you know, your affection for a person's energy and your affection for perfecting or being a part of affecting a person's abilities. It's just it's just a drug too, you

know what I'm saying. Like it's a drug for me, Like I enjoyed, I enjoy man amazement. I enjoy it like I've always love excitement, like I love the tips. That's why I do so many tip of records, man, Like I love and you a ballplayer, bro, because I can look at your frame until he was a ball play because I was a ball player. Man. It's that. It's that that when we started playing, that urge to compete,

don't leave. But it's still there. It's just like now instead of me busting the quarterback says, I'm busting needs other we busting these other podcasts as now. You know what, man, We're like, okay, we're gonna bust you all that. You know man, that and you know what, you just hit the nail on the head, man. Competing is just a part of our DNA, you know. And uh, and you don't want to take no losses. Man, I don't want to take no losses. I don't want to take no

more losses. Man, I've seen too many losses. And you know, man, Chris is like the last one that I have been that It's just unbelievable in so many ways. Man, you know, like, um,

you know, not even just as a performer. You know, he's such an amazing artist, Like he's an artistic just like like throwing or like if you look at the um if you look at that cartoon that he did with him and Thug, man, Oh my god, I just thought that was so amazing and funding that comes from God though, yeah, and I'd be like, you know, I just wanted to tell my brother, like like I could probably go I could go pull up on a man

and all that type ship. Man, but we're gonna like I like God to work, you know what I'm saying. I like God to work and uh, and whatever he needs from me, Man always be there. Man. But he always been super super sweet to me man, and a good person and my brother and like nice and that we never had no I never had no pounds with Chris every man. So but I just also respect people's face, you know what I'm saying people grow. You know what I'm saying, you have to broke because you know, sometimes man,

young people learn better by their own experiences. Man. And the thing is, I've heard nothing but good stuff about that young man, you know what I mean. And that's the thing about me, man, I think you know. And I've never been one of them old niggas to sit up and talk about the young cats I love? Are

you with anything? We need to encourage them? And the thing is, Man, a lot of us, a lot of the so called ogs, let a lot of the young brothers down, man by trying to you know, by not pulling them to the side or tell them the wrong ship. You know, sometimes you gotta keep give a motherfucker the truth and tell him, Man, look did you do this? You gonna lose every thing that didn't work out for me. So it's our job as the older people, not for me to be trying to dress like yo. That's why

I dressed a certain way. Every time somebody seen me. I got on slacks and the collar shirt. I don't wear my pants hanging off my ass. I'm somebody's daddy dog. I got grown ass keys. I'm not gonna walk around like a food. You never go see me online. This is nobody. They can have my name and they off for all day. It's whatever to me. But you never gonna see me doing that because I conduct myself like an a dope. So the thing is man, and I think with hip hop it calls a lot of our

older dudes. How many times have you've seen the niggatives forty five years old with braids on his pants, ain'ting off his ass and you're like, oh, gee, you know what I'm saying. You know you? Oh, now make you forty some years old and you're still walking around like a little kid. It's not that time. Man. When I was a kid, I thought that's a child. When I'm a grown man, grown man, I'm always conscious of that.

So I always watch what comes out my mouth. Always watch the way I am, and you can see me. The way I am on this camera is the way I am when I live my life. This is just this is the internet right here. This is not the streets. And I think a lot of us is living for the Internet right now. The Internet ain't real, dog, because everybody on the Internet. When you look at Facebook and Instagram, everybody always on a vocation. Everybody always on the trip,

Everybody always counting money. Everybody is always and some ship down rent it for the weekend. Telling motherfucker's you've got problems paying your bibles. Tell the motherfucker's that you just that you had to borrow two on the dollars from your mama to pay your rip this month. But check you at the club popping bottles all night. You know. Let's start being real with each other. And that's the problem. Man.

A lot of these youngsters, man, are so caught up and ship it's not real that they can't see real. So it's crazy, man, But I appreciate you, brother. I'm gonna let you bringing your session. Man, and you got a friend of me, bro. I think what you're doing gona blow up, man. I know because you've been doing it for a long time. Man. We're excited, man, Thank you so much. Man. Everybody is you know watching um stay tuned to Summer Walk album and is really great.

It's it's really I gotta I gotta go online and see it, you know. I feel like it's one of the best out R and B albums in the last two years. I'm not even Captain like, I'm not capping at all. Just just just Summer Walker album. It's one of the best R and B albums in the last two years, bro. And you know the reason why I say that, she's twenty three years old. She's talking about the struggle of a female trying to not just a but to survive her mental you know what I mean.

It's a fun up situation today because you're living online and I don't, like, I've never seen and I felt like, you know, I've never seen someone so uh, I've never seen nobody lived in their life in front of the world like she has and unapologetically. You know, it's hard to do that. It's hard, yes, and but at the same time, I have to respect because respect because it's like she don't that's her way of that's her way

of expressing herself. You know. I had an amazing time working with with Summer men and I work with a lot of great artists men, but this has been uh, a real pleasure because I was in like you know what I'm saying. I was able to grow um working with her because it wasn't my typical way of dealing with artists. You know what I'm saying. That she wasn't. She wasn't. Um, she definitely wasn't typical, and she definitely wasn't She was completely unusual. But are beautiful unusual, you

know what I'm saying. She was Uh, she was definitely UM. I like to call her unicorn. I like to call her special, you know. And she has a perspective um that a lot of young girls are not able to explain what and not just young girl like I could say, I could promise you this. Young women gonna learn from this album. Grown ass women are gonna learn from this album.

Mamas are gonna grown grow from this album. Little Sister's gonna grow and grown as men gonna grow from this album because there's so many great records on this album that it ain't like the last album. It's not like over it where you got short songs and no ridges and um limitations on the conversation to the way you feel like Damn, I was loving that but then it just stopped. It's not that the ship is the ship

is deep, man, It's it's real. And UM, I just want to go ahead on and congratulate Summer right now, UM and LVR man Man and all the people that was involved in this album, man, just for some great ass work. I'm gonna tell you how straight up the ship I'm gonna I'm gonna go grab it right now, bro, because you don't hit me to something. I've always put some dope music, man, so I need that in my life. It ain't out yet, No, it come out. The single comes out, um any day now. I ain't gonna say

the date. The single comes out any date now. And now the album, I think the album is dropping in November, so we're probably about forty days away from the album dropping, and then we're like a few days from the single dropping. So what's gonna be the least single? What was that a secret? Now? Or we're gonna keep a secret because you know I got you know, we got a radio show too, bro, I don't know if you know that now. We got a radio show too. So we definitely don't

support it in more ways than one. We can definitely bang it out. So when those bedia best, So when you see those b bds and media based spins coming from them, but living look markets in California gonna say, man, my nigga norm out, they're looking out for me.
