The Huge Brothers at that time, at that particular time, I was, Um, I was really

heavy and trying to get my music out. You know, a lot of people to know I was doing music and wanted to do music, and um, and I had to deal with did Griffin and Griffy was over that. He was responsible for bringing out Baby Phace to deal all them and you know and Baba they wanted to buy the Emmins Build turning into Emmins Building over there solo record So um bam, I landed, I landed the road,

you know what I'm saying. And I told I said, uh, I told the Huge brother I said, man, because I really wasn't privy to like, you know, the movie scene. You know what I'm saying. I was. I was fresh out of Junie that hall, so I was like, you know, like it was about it. I really didn't know, like you know, you can't just come on to sit and say, hey, man, I got somewhere to be. I gotta be to cut out. They got scheduled, they got time and you you know,

you scheduled to be here. So I was like, um, but I had a meeting at uh at uh with Matt Jones over uh, not not up top but motown you feel me at that time before it changed over and I think BBD and was over there, but it was were just taking meetings, you know what I'm saying. And um, and we wind up going from that meeting ended up with dig Griff you Soulour records. But um, I told him, I said, uh, I said, look, I said, I got a meeting uh with with some music stuff.

So um, it was the scene was supposed to be. He was supposed to I was supposed to do, you know, say which one of y'alls came and go up to him. And it wasn't going to be a stop. I was supposed to be a regular squabble. We're supposed to squabble a little bit. And he posted boom grab you know in the projects where they hanged to close out you know what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, So he posted grabbing choking me out if they had a whole little thing to choke up. You know what I'm saying. He choked

me out. And and they're supposed to do some other ship. You know, you're supposed to be long and drawn out. But since I had that meeting, it was like, damn, how the fund can we do? Okay, this is we're gonna do. We're gonna he's just gonna you're gonna say the line and then bam, he just gonna boom boom boom, take you to go down and boom and that that's it. I said, Okay, well that that's cool because I didn't give me time. So it really it really that scene.

I don't think it would have had as much impact as it did as the real quick like man, it was this mother wanting up to me and in the stompotot made an impact on the snopout to make it bigger. You feel me. Goddamn, he just stumping it. He wouldn't even post stop then time. Well, you're just lucky that you walked into projects and was able to just get

it and then get the projects different scene. Yeah, walking up on an like that so um that that that's always trip off that like damn, you know, because that the impact that that made that that small role like that so big and massive to the world was you know, his character. You know, he was a scounding them up on him and uh, you know what I'm saying. But you the women and people fell in love with his

character of liked him. I just want to see him because everybody we want that, you know what I'm say. Everybody want to get up out the hood and do better. You know what I'm saying. Even if they don't want to say it, you know they want to you know, like dam if I want to sun up out of here and I want to do something, you know, deep down you know if they're playing this role you know, you know what I'm saying, that hood or whatever what I'm saying, but you know who wants to stay in

the hood and get on? You know I'm saying the drive by scene, did that ship feel good to you? Like just being and when you had to drive but I did to drive by? Did do that? Did that feel good to you? Like this? I mean if I have played that part, I would have been like ship just right up, my allie, I got you know what I'm saying you know what, and that that's that's the reason why I was like, okay, yeah, I can dig it because it wasn't just that scene where it was

just left like that. It was retaliation of you know, get back saying I said, that's gonna be very impactive. And how the huge Bucks played and they did it was it was it was you know what I'm saying. But yeah, it felt it felt it felt. It felt real good, you know what I'm saying. Because that ship I think that was like my first time even getting off. It was it was real guns but blank bullets, so right, you know, it was like, oh this is good after the first squeeze, tell me, I know. So yeah it was.

It was a cool scene with him man tire and you know what I'm saying. But really I didn't, um, I didn't really uh see see too much of nobody. Um like you know what I'm sat like that. I just did my part and got on and didn't real like ship, Um everybody was in the eight you know, shoo short, I'm like, damn all these mothers. I just did my part and you know it got on. But uh, she didn't know that Samuel Jackson was in there. You know, like, damn.

I looked back like it's crazy. Everybody don't shoot on the same day that that feel me that now. But now you know, many films are n'tdone. I know that, but coming in that was my first ship, you know, but it really wasn't my first ship. It was my first film. But people don't know. They try to, you know, um, stick me with this this this this gangster ship, in this this role. They you know, people love me. Would you give me putting something from me? I'm gonna I'm

gonna do what I do. I'm acting, so I'm gonna I'm gonna do what you get me, what I'm saying, and I'm gonna player to the fullest. So um, my first ship ever actually was um out All night Out on Night the Pad LaBelle Show with a Fox more Chest not Duwayne Martin. I read my first lines ever speaking role ever on TV was with Dwayne Martin and um, the sister on on Fresh Prince of bell As. She was guest starring on there, the oldest sister from Fresh Prince of bel Air. Yeah, yeah, I read my house

was nervous as a motherfucker. But Adam, I'm laughing. So comedy was my first ship. But for some reason, oh it was there was the impact of minister society that boys in the hood was one of you know, yeah, yeah, you wasn't set it off again, you know, And I wanted to ask you because you damn sure. It was like the thug choice for home time in every movie. The motherfucker's that you just like, that's the scams assign. They get his ass They was just making you that

character for every movie. Though, do you ever felt like that you did two go a job? Um Ship? Well ship, you know what, because you sounded and looked just like a l a nigger when you was doing what you were doing. It was convincing, you know, saying that ship Uh well, I mean, you know, you know basically, you know, it's where you go up. I grew up in South Central you know, Los Angeles. Nipsey Hustle did that same neighborhood, you know, same neighborhood. What I'm saying, the Nipsey younger

than me. But Nipsey had a very very good, big impact. He did that he did He wasn't my little homeboard that was you know man. And then he did you know, like how Ship played you know, ship being going right. But you know, aside from that um ship, you know, uh yeah, that kind of a little bit so good man. seems in specific man, it's black Hollywood and specific. It's like you have all of these great actors, right, and they go on these runs like you know, especially a lot of brothers from the nineties, like you Tyrant Turner and you know a host of other brothers, and it's just like yeah, and it's almost like y'all got tight cash to the point where y'all had these roles that was so iconic. It was almost like people scared. Do you think some of that? Do you think it was

a little bit of bias going on in Hollywood? Um? Well, I mean that's you know, that's that's that's what it is Hollywood. You know. They you know, people like to some people, you know, if they could pitch and hold you something on some ship, you know, or keep doing it or just like you know, just like what what jay Z say, man, stop keeping you keep painting too much because once somebody get on something, you know, that's

all they want to do. You know. I'm I'm a I'm I'm I'm gonna put the teap and I'm gonna do I'm gonna put the you know, the voice box on it. They're talking about ship, you know, tour. You know a lot of like that said he for to get this motherfucking roles, Willie, did you know? But you know, like a business is business, you know what I'm saying. So I just went in there and knocked my ship back on I did, you know. And if

it's believable, it's believable, you know what I'm saying. And you know, I was like to show he was gonna get at to Bully D. But it wasn't just about you know, the homely hook up or you know my potet. I gotta give you this role cues like whoever knock that ship back the best and bring this And I like that, you know, because that's business. That's why I tell my partners, like, you know, this ship. You know,

I don't want you to get me nothing. I want to work for what I got you know, if I got to work for it, if I ain't got for it, it ain't nothing. Let me ask you this question, no, bro, because you know this seal was l A and I don't give a fuck. And it ain't just l A thing. I guess it's a nationwide thing. Whenever you are playing a character in the movie motherfucker's in the streets, ain't able to separate reality from fiction. How many motherfucker's did

you have running up on you? Man? I had girls and they're talking about can you rape me like you did? Like what I swear it was crazy, But you know what happened at very very beginning, I had the mature because you know, I never you know, did this ship for us? Uh uh and uh but but playing in Hollywood and all that ship was the city Walk city Walk ship. So we walked through the city while we're coming out to uh movie and ship and here goes some knicks. You know what I'm saying, dude, stuffing. You just stopped out. You know. I don't know how many like what you know, if we went into that it was some real sight me. That's just a movie. They can watch out, you know. But all in all, all that was really was trying

to do, say what's up. They wanted the key in on that, and they wanted to do at and all that stuff, and I forgot like, really, hummy, that's a movie. It's not for real, and you know what they're trying to do. They're clowning. But at the same time they recognizing you feel me having me into that to say when they say when the people say, oh they stumped your ass out, I said, now, I said, yeah they show did you know? Said but I got me a

check for what help me that? If that ain't gonna have to be announe You know what I'm saying in real life? You know what I'm saying. So I had to start and to separate the ship, you know, and clowning and some people like something something something dude like something my polities or that. If it's some brawls around, oh yeah, that's they go. Junior, you still all the movies and you go straight to the rape. Scene. But then they're gonna just what he thought I said they're doing.

they just go to some other little funny ship. Some some people were really mad because I was mad at hey that that scene he had when he just shot the brothers on the ground back back. I'm like, this motherfucker here seen was so cold when he comes that bad man like that shop. He really fucked me up with that ship. Yeah, I was, man, I was like, man, this ship as motherfucker's really active. Really yeah, but we who have to do We had to get tiring up

in this motherfucker dog. Who had to get tiring up here? Who had to get it and have a minister society, have a society reunion, you know. Being that that was one of the most pivotal movies of all time, man, because I think it showed um, I think the rest of the world was kind of enthralled with West Coast culture during that time. You know, you have boys in the hood, then you had minist society. It was just real, just hella interesting to the outside people looking like it's

people really living like that out there. Yeah, because because for one that all they had was it vocally coming through cube and you know what I'm saying, and easy, you know, you know, and they were seeing it it up missing portions to music videos, but they wasn't really getting the whole captured and of it, and the huge Brothers and John Singleton really made that a visual that you like, they've really captured the hard and soul of you know what I'm saying, not just Los Angeles, but

ghettos everywhere worldwide, but everywhere everywhere. You know what I'm saying. They're like, damn, I can relate to that ship. He had to deal with a Jive and I wind up getting my music deal music deal with Andre Herrell through Jive Records. So we wind up being on the same day that we never had eno music. We just was cool. Partners. What I'm saying, that was my That's my favorite still to this day. And so um used to be me, him and Cocaine and Ship,

you know what I'm saying. Before Cocaine went over there doing the music with us and Ship, we used to be were just like we just gonna call ourselves the Barceloni Crew because that's how tough we was hanging, you know what I'm saying. And Um, I was like nigger, I said, Ship. And one day, Um, we was in front of the montrenand Mondrean Hotel. It was like before he had a face on it. You know what I'm saying.

Everybody used to go to that mother the Mantrono tep right across street from uh the Uh what's the House of Blues? And you my ship during Monday two day, everybody comes to the Motherucker Bust, Rhyn jay Z, everybody standing at the Montreal. You know what I'm saying. So, uh, he come out here. He picked me up this nick, put me up in memos and monking I mean about my house and ship. Come on, give me any niggas

So so I'm like, damn, I'm trying to catch up to this nigga. But so I had Hennessey bottle and ship. I'm I'm like, we're drinking and ship. So I'm zig zag and trying to get last. of those roles. They wound up going to jail and doing a little stuff like you had the homey m the other kid that used to play in all the movies, DeAndre Bonds, Oh that's my little knicks. I'm what I'm man, we got to get my nigga, and it we we argue a scuffle about this ship so much. I'm the motherfucker that got DeAndre started in this ship and it kind of hurt me a little bit. You know what I'm saying, because I just like, I was just like, okay,

he gave him script. So I go outside and finished studying. I I'm gonna study. Who gonna study? I said, Plus I needed somebody to study with. Anybody, you know what I'm saying to read it? I said, okay, he I said, you know what, Hony I said. I said, look, check this out. Give me your number. I'll call you. Call you a little bit. So this was on fair Fat and uh like Fairfax and thirds or something like that. You know what. That's what they was holding ship damn

to get crazy. And they will take that script go to and turn into a whole number and be like he got a book. Now a fact, not the factor. Now the fact he booked the Denzel's first uh uh directorial debut, which was before he before he caught that case. He did ten years with stabbing, you know, and now he got out from that and he's still doing an amazing you know job right now what he's doing. But he was he landed the role and that's when he

wound up getting locked up. He leant like, you got the role and in two weeks we're gonna film or whatever. You know what I'm saying. So when you go on stage and performing in the audience, it's not you know, it's family and stuff like that, but it's managers agents and they like Scotland. So if they like you what they see what you perform there, I'll they giving me your card. So after the ship they man like they was giving your cards and a lot
