you Welcome to the Gamers Inn. Come on in, pull up a chair next to the fire. It looks like you've had a long journey. I'm your host, Jocelyn, and joining me as always is my co-host, Ryan. Hello, Ryan. Hello. The Switch 2 arrives in one week, and I'm excited. So excited that you totally forgot until I reminded you two seconds ago. I was just going to say there's no recorded evidence of me not forgetting, but not attributing something. Oh, you forgot. You forgot.
I think I'm mentally preparing myself for not having it arrive on day one because I ordered it from Nintendo. You don't know what day one is. It's June 5th. I saw the one week countdown. For Mario Kart World, which I will admit, Mario Kart World, the more and more I see of it, I am excited to play that day one. It does look like it's going to be a lot of fun. Oh, I don't doubt it, honestly. That was never my point of why I'm not pre-ordering or day one-ing a Switch 2. It was just...
I don't think I can pay that kind of money right now to essentially play just Mario Kart, right? Like it looks super cool. And I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it for sure. But I just don't think that they're like launch. offerings for games are compelling enough to to make me want a system day one so that's that's it i'm not that i think that the system is going to be bad not that i think the games are going to be bad i just don't think it needs to be purchased next week
In my opinion. No, that's fair. I am. I've kind of been going over my head like what what I'll have access to at launch. I'll have Mario Kart World. uh i'll i'll have because i'm a nintendo switch subscriber i'll have access to the upgraded versions of breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom so plan to check
Check in on those. Look, let's be honest, I'm not going to get much further. Get to Hyrule Field in both of them, and we'll call it a day. Going to play some GameCube games, probably a little Soul Calibur 2. I don't know. I think that's a good chunk of stuff, but I totally understand. It might not be like enough for everyone. I think by this time next year, there'll be enough.
for all folks who are interested in the Switch 2. I think Nintendo will have a solid lineup and hopefully we'll get a direct at some point after the Switch 2 launches. I'd like to see more of Donkey Kong. People keep telling me, oh, it's going to be the next big 3D platformer. I'm still not convinced, but I hope I'm proven wrong. From what I've seen...
And I'm going to be mean here, Jocelyn, to Nintendo. Get ready for this. Kind of looks like a launch title tech demo. Look, we figured out destructible environments with Donkey Kong. Maybe I'm bitter because I wanted this is like a Luigi's Mansion situation where I want a Mario launch title instead of like, you know, instead of that, you get Donkey Kong and that just makes you rage. But I loved Luigi's Mansion, though. This is the thing.
I don't know. Maybe you'll love Donkey Kong 2 then. I do like the character of Donkey Kong and I was one of those Rare folks who liked Rare's Donkey Kong 64. So anything's possible at this stage. Anything. that's fair well i look forward to i guess uh probably not next week it'll be the week after uh look forward to hearing how your whole well i mean first of all if you actually get the console and then how your experience in mario kart has been
Yeah, I imagine it. I'll be surprised if it arrives day one. I ended up ordering through the Nintendo store. I got one of the preorder invites and then they ship. Their shipping says 5 to 12 business days, which is probably a very wide window that they provide for everything. And my experience with ordering off the Nintendo store when I usually get their...
My Nintendo Rewards stuff is about a week because it arrives from Vancouver. So it's got to travel this great nation to get here. So I can be patient this time. so then i was gonna say so then are you not expecting to get it to like the 12th i I am training my brain to be happy with it arriving the week of the 9th of June. That's where I'm at. Wow. I don't anticipate it arriving.
For the fifth. Honestly, they would have to ship it like Monday, which, you know, I feel like they could. Nintendo has already got these systems. Then they'd also be risking you getting it like a day early or something. Right. So. Yeah. I mean, my experience with day one launches, and this is the thing, I don't know if you saw, we didn't have this in the news, but there are Switch 2 consoles out in the wild, but they require a day one patch to play games. Ah, okay.
I mean, maybe look, and I'm not trying to get my hopes up here, but maybe they will ship it ahead of time. If I'm getting it day one or at least the Friday, the day after launch. It will have to ship either Monday or Tuesday. And as of right now, it says it's preparing to ship. That could mean anything from.
We got you to. They got your order. It's in a box with a sticker on it. Exactly. Like I am, again, not holding my breath, not getting, you know, my hopes up. I am. I'm fine waiting until the week after. It's all good. It's all good. Well, you should make sure that you keep everybody updated over at tiny.cc slash TGI Discord. Oh, I will. What should we call it? A switch to...
watch or something. I don't know. Yeah, I was going to say countdown, but I'm like, you can't count down to something you don't know when the date is. One, one, one. Oh, no, no. Two. I count up. Yeah. Oh, now we're up to three. We'll see. I will definitely keep everybody in the loop. But yeah, definitely not next week because we normally record on Tuesdays and it's not until Thursday. It's not. Yeah. But but maybe the week after I'm.
And like I said, the plans are the three things I mentioned. Mario Kart, check in on the Switch 2 versions of the two previous Zelda games and possibly play some. Some GameCube titles, which I believe launches with Soul Calibur 2, which had Link in it, F-Zero GX and Wind Waker. So excited about that. Yeah, you loved Wind Waker, didn't you? Oh, it was so good.
my favorite yeah so i think yeah it's kind of uh made for you the the choices from gamecube that they're putting out there yeah the gamecube is is i would have to say is my favorite Nintendo console slash era. Some of those games are just... superb well yeah we got uh we got buffy chaos bleed so i mean you can't get any better than that the hobbit the hobbit was so well done that's a throwback to some tgi four or something. Yeah. Yeah. It's a long way back now. Yeah. Yeah.
Oh, speaking of a long way back, let's go all the way back to the Dark Ages. Tell me about Doom. How are you doing over there? Yeah, I've wrapped it up. We talked about it last episode and I was progressing pretty quickly through the game. To the point where now I have finished the campaign still in the dark ages in the sense that, you know, it's not like things magically are better. Demons are still present. Yeah, it's still a.
It's still a hellscape, but I had a great time with this game. It does not overstay its welcome. Yeah, how long was it? Because it feels like you went through it pretty quick. It was about 20 hours, I'd say.
It moves at a steady pace, though, and it was all I was playing since it launched two weeks ago, basically. Yeah, that's fair. It is kind of... I can't remember. I think I was talking to... crofton about it's like oh yeah doom the dark ages it's not a long game like you can probably beat it in a couple weeks and he laughs like but that's how we play games now like it's not like yeah previous when you could
Finish it in a weekend, you know, and because it's just, you know, we don't have that uninterrupted time. So I've been devoting like my two to three hours an evening that I'm free to play it and then maybe a little extra time on the weekends. But yeah, it's a lot of fun. I love that over the course of the game, you are constantly unlocking new weapons and variations on those weapons.
variations on the variations of your shield abilities. So you get these, these abilities with the shield. So every time you parry something successfully. Uh, one of them's like an auto cannon will pop out of your shoulder and start shooting enemies. Um, another one will like drop lightning on people in front of you. Others will have like a fan of knives, like come out of your shield and like attack everybody.
And then you can kind of apply sort of upgrades and modifiers on those. So it really tries to reward you for parrying and makes the shield, which is always equipped outside of when you have one weapon. Spoiler, I won't say which weapon that is. But the shield is super OP and you are using it constantly. And it's so good. The other thing we didn't touch on last episode was...
And kind of the reason I thought this game felt very Halo to me is they break up the combat missions with... There's a mech mode where you get in a giant... mech and it's like Pacific Rim style you know I'm listening Idris Elba the voice of Knuckles is not in this Jocelyn sorry but
You do try to cancel the apocalypse in this game quite often. I think that's the main point of Doom, is to cancel the apocalypse. But you're in this giant mech, and you are literally just like... punching giant demons like titan demons that are that are attacking um it's simple it's very like again i don't want to sound rude but it almost feels tacked on
in a sense um not in a way that like it's broken or clunky it just kind of it's just it's it's much simpler than everything else you're doing in the game which feels like it's layered and a little more complex. But that being said, it is a nice break from the more fast-paced combat and exploration of the other world. So it's short, it's sweet.
It's nice when it pops up. There's like two or three of them throughout the course of the game, but they're a lot of fun. And the other one was you get a dragon, you can fly the dragon around, and that's more like kind of like space combat-y where you're... flying around, you're fighting enemies and you're shooting things. Is it like, is it responsive or is it like floaty? It's both of those modes are floaty. And that's a great question because I think that's what makes it kind of feel.
sort of we need another thing you know let's put mechs and then let's put you know flying a dragon space combat and and it kind of feels floaty it doesn't feel as tight as the rest of the gameplay which is very focused and balanced and and uh there's just more going on responsive yeah so when you're flying around like they've really nailed like the the the movement of the dragon
But it is very simple, like you're lock on, you're dodging enemies as they shoot you, but it's very like when you lock on, it's a stationary thing. It's again very simple like when you when you were attacking something you are standing still and you're waiting to hit that dodge button and then holding the fire because when you dodge it gives your weapon extra.
power so okay it's very basic it's really just a way to kind of like spread out the combat so in those missions where you're flying the dragon rather than having like one sort of linear or or open area it allows the developers to kind of create little pockets around uh this larger section so you're flying from point to point to these different areas, which is a cool idea in a way to vary up the architecture and the different environments. Allow you to kind of see more of the...
the space that you're, you've been in. Yeah. And it really allows you to increase the scale of those levels without actually putting wasted space, you know, so you can kind of explore this whole like castle region.
and have it feel like this huge city without it feeling like you're lumbering around like there are moments in these open areas where you've killed everything and you're trying to find that one collectible and you're kind of stomping around like where's this question mark i need one more of these and then i can move on to the objective don't worry town that's being invaded, I'll be right with you. I'm just trying to find this toy bobblehead that I haven't found yet. I know.
it removes you completely from the realism of doom, the dark ages. It's just, it's a, but, but no, I've had a lot of fun with this one. And I, I think if you enjoyed the first two, this is. more in that vein if you didn't enjoy the first two but are interested i think this is a really good jumping on point um the combat is much more simplified and the shield is just so op and so fun that
I think it just it really mixes things up. And there's a lot more story here. We talked last week, too, that the story is speaking of your whole jumping in point. It's a prequel, right? So.
At the end, because you finished the campaign, does it tie directly into the 2016 Doom? Or is it like leaving more space for... additional like prequels to 2016's doom but follow-ups to dark ages if you know what i mean like is there room in between or does it tie this story right into what we already knew it uh it does not
lead right into 2016 um there is some dlc that's that's coming as part of the deluxe edition uh so they've already committed to that maybe that will like kind of lead into 2016 in 2016 it starts off with the doom slayer being sort of woken up from this tomb uh which i think There's a gap there. Honestly, it's interesting. I was looking into the timeline, and I guess all the Doom games are considered...
It's like the Zelda kind of felt a lot like the Zelda timeline where it's all connected. And I guess this is a sequel to Doom 64, but a prequel to Doom 2016. Yeah. So I thought that was like. interesting uh and i did not realize people took doom lore so seriously but i found multiple articles talking about the doom timeline and how it goes from doom guy to doom slayer
And how Doom the Dark Ages is sort of that bridge between the old games from Doom 1 through 3 and the new series, Doom 2016 and Eternal. So I thought that it's a neat touch. I'm a fan of... Silly lore. Like, look, I'm a Halo fan. I played all the Halo games. I watched the TV shows. I read some of the books. I appreciate dumb lore.
you know that that fits video games together wow halo man just catching some strays there i could have said warcraft i could have said you know all of these things all these look like it's not stupid lore It's just, it's lore that's like, it's like the Zelda stuff. It's like, okay, so how can we connect all these games that definitely weren't connected? I know we'll use time travel and it's kind of dumb, Jocelyn.
But cool at the same time, right? Maybe. Look, Ocarina of Time is a masterpiece, and the fact that they use it as a... A turning point for three different eras in Zelda is cool. Yes. There's a whole book about it. I have it behind me. Yeah, I need to go read that again. Well, that was one thing. I saw the discussion in the finale of the Twilight Princess stuff, and I was like, oh my god. I was like, man, it's been so long. I really have to go back and play all of these eras of games.
And I need to read that book because I don't remember like so many things about the timeline and who did what, when and where. And yeah. but you're right like ocarina of time being right at the crux of all of those like offshoot alternate universes is really cool yeah and then And then Nintendo, when they had Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, absolutely refusing and playing coy when it came to like placing it in the timeline. And it's their fault that people are asking about.
where does this fall on the timeline oh we you'll just have to play and find out and there are connections like no like you you made this like we didn't you made the timeline we didn't put it in the fandom wiki like you made it and and then you know we're like okay we're in nintendo like all the all the zelda games like they even put the ds games in the timeline yep i think four swords adventures is in the timeline document it is
But Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom is like, I don't know. You'll just have to find out and use your creativity. Nintendo. Wow. OK, that was a whole that was a whole tangent. Yeah, but Doom the Dark Ages is great. Don't worry about the timeline. It's fine. You'll have fun either way. Yay, lore. Yeah, lore is pretty cool. Don't give lore a hard time like I did.
Well this is actually one of the reasons why I wanted to try the game that I played this week is because I really really enjoy the King Arthur lore. So when I had this game suggested to me in like my Steam like carousel thing, and I actually saw a lot of my people from my friends list that had it either like already in their library or wishlisted.
I was like, I hadn't heard of this at all. But it's like, I don't even want to say like a new take on like the Arthurian legend. It's just like they're borrowing from it and telling. a story using the like Arthur and Merlin and, you know, the Knights of the Round Table and that kind of stuff. So anyways, it's called Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon.
And it actually has a demo available on Steam, so you don't have to buy it outright. You can try it before you buy, which is always a good thing. But it's like a... a double a title so i think it was i think it's 45 bucks american uh so a little bit more for us up here but um it had like a bunch of reviews that were referencing elder scrolls as well i saw a lot of references to like oblivion i saw some to like elden ring in terms of like the kind of art direction and the more like kind of mature
serious high fantasy kind of style of stuff and it's definitely like gory and dark right out the gate um but yeah so i was like i saw all of that and i'm like this actually It's really freaking cool. So I'm going to give it a try. So anyways, it's called Tainted Grail, The Fall of Avalon. And it is this like first person. Technically, there's a third person, but the devs have said like.
We put third person in basically for like accessibility. It's still pretty buggy. We're doing our best to work on it, but like it's meant to be played first person. um and it's the same like it has a lot of the same trappings of like an elder scrolls so it's like first person combat you can you know, wield anything, wear anything, and make your own build.
only thing i will say so far i haven't i haven't played very far into it i got through the prologue and then a little bit into act one but um depending on how quickly leveling happens i can see that being a potential source of frustration i'll put it that way because there's a lot of like conversation options and gear that have very specific like trait requirements to them and you get one point per level.
So like if you have to get like to persuasion of seven, but also strength of six, then that's like 13 levels worth of stuff. And you've only done, I'm only level three after like three hours or so of playtime. And that's like, and usually.
in general you get early levels faster than you get late levels right so i'm like if i'm only getting one point like you're gonna have to either be very very very very picky about how you build your character or you're gonna reach a point where there's like a lot of stuff that you just can't do And I can see that potentially being frustrating because like you don't know what you're locking yourself out of. And there's as far as I know, I did pick up a potion that was like.
the potion of origins or something like that which i think said i could reset all of my skills so that's good if there's like a mechanism in the game where you can like either buy the potion find the potion or or make the potion because it has all of the like crafting alchemy collection like you can collect everything i'm surprised i wasn't encumbered by the time i made i made my way out of the prologue because i was like yes i want this flower and this mushroom and yes i will take
10 of these different knives and I will take everybody's boots because why not? So, yeah, I was very surprised that I was not encumbered by the end of that prologue. But yeah, overall, I mean, like it's definitely like AA, not AAA. There's a lot of voice acting in it, which I was pleasantly surprised. But the like the facial animations.
are not there the graphics are on the kind of simplistic side but it looks like a stylistic choice potentially based on their budget um it's definitely not like triple a graphics and facial animations and stuff but it also doesn't really need that like i'm actually fine with them like with the characters like looking the way that they do it's not like Like I say, it almost looks like a stylistic choice. Like it's not taking me out of the narrative at all. And the narrative itself so far is...
Kind of quite interesting and compelling. The whole idea is basically that like the, well, I guess Britain, they don't say Britain, but like the place they were from was overrun with the plague. And then so Arthur and Merlin take their people to Avalon and like... basically kill the indigenous population. So again, very British. Kill the indigenous population, take over the island of Avalon, reestablish their colony there.
And yeah, they kind of like, I don't want to say like terraform, but they like push back. There's this like... uh not really like mist although mist of avalon that would make a lot of sense for it to be a mist but they show it as kind of like misty but then when you're actually interacting with it in the game it's definitely much more solid but it's called the oh what's it called it's like the It's not the weirdness, but maybe it is the weirdness, but it's spelt weird, like not like weird.
Is it like a backwards Z or something? No, it's like a W, like Y, R, D or something like that. Oh. I can't remember. It's like a vampire situation. Yes, exactly. So it's yeah, they like they like push back that force.
using merlin's magic and then make it safe for like the people that they brought with them sort of thing but then eventually arthur dies and then it's been 600 years and the weirdness is pushing back and the plague is has made its way to Avalon and there's like all these problems that you have to solve and it's it's a quite interesting story and I don't want to like spoil too many things although like
I think from the trailers and stuff, it's kind of obvious what happens quite close to the beginning. But anyways, I don't want to spoil anything if anyone wants to go in totally spoiler free. There is a lot of the trappings of Arthurian legend in a game that feels very Elder Scrolls-y. Like I say, I think and I should also probably say I am playing on like super easy story difficulty because.
i like just want to get through it and see the story like the story is what i find super compelling so i don't want to comment too much on the combat um but it has like you can do magic you can do daggers you can do stealth you can do bows you can do um like sword and shield very like paladin-y melee kind of stuff like any combo you can think of from like an rpg a fantasy rpg they're they're all in there and available to you um but yeah i don't wanna i don't wanna
comment too much on the actual like difficulty level because i'm basically playing like two to three hits and things are done um but there is definitely like you were talking about with doom like a parry mechanic so like If you parry properly, you like stagger your opponent.
and you have your own stamina and it gets depleted really fast so you have to really pay attention even on the easy difficulty like where you are what's going on what you might have to move out of like what your opponents are doing so there's like there's difficulty settings so it's not souls like combat but i feel like if you ramped it up enough it could be souls like combat because of that like stamina
um or i guess lack thereof it's like you basically get like two to three moves and then you gotta slow it down and recover a little so yeah
But it's really cool so far. I'm really enjoying it. And I think I'll probably have more to talk about next week and the week after. Because I think unless, like I say, I can see the skills becoming a... like point of potential frustration but unless that makes me bounce off it completely i think i'm i'm actually really looking forward to getting further into this one and like i said it has a demo available on steam so if you're on the fence then go try it doesn't cost you anything
Very good. Yeah, no, I did see there's a demo. That's I guess it was in early access and it just officially was. Yeah. OK. Yeah, I think it's been in early access since 2023, I think. And then, yeah, just launched last week on the 23rd, I think. Cool. And I see it's on Xbox as well. So if folks want to check it out on console, it's there too. It's got very positive reviews on Steam. I mean.
it does that's why like when i first saw it i was like oh okay maybe and then i saw that like it's very positive i think for like both the the full length and also the recent reviews like everything is very positive it seems very well received so i was like all right let me go let me see what this is all about it's i mean it's a really cool title like tainted grail the fall of avalon like that's yeah and like i say it's very dark it's very dark it's like you basically like
It's the wake up in a prison trope, which again, very Elder Scrolls-y. So like you wake up in a prison and you talk to the guard and that's basically how you like make your character. And the character creation is it's pretty straightforward. It's like here are like, I don't know, maybe 20 like pre-made faces. Like here's our, you know, set of 10 tattoos. Pick some, pick a hair like.
the hair looks really well done. But you also, when you play, like you're mostly in first person, you don't see your character at all. Even when you're like talking to people, you stay in first person. So I'm like, not really sure when my character creation is really going to come into this, but...
I guess you can see your character like when you're putting on your gear and stuff like in your menus. But other than that, you don't like really see it in the game at all. But yeah, it's basically like a whole bunch of presets like it doesn't have the. 800 sliders so you can change like 10 different aspects of your nose which i'm okay with because i don't have time for that like i see you dragon age
I appreciate that there are people that will spend the majority of their gaming time custom customizing their character. That is not me. Well, and that's the thing. It's a first person game. So like. I don't know. You can probably go with the I mean, maybe not the default, but at least like set it up in a way like, OK, I like the hair. Yeah, you can choose your hair color, eye color, all of that kind of stuff. But yeah, it's very, very simplistic, which I personally really do prefer, I guess.
But I know a lot of people do like character creation. So like there is an aspect of it here, but it's definitely very simplistic. But yeah, you only see your character so far in menus. So it's actually kind of fine. Oh, that's good. And I mean, yeah, if it was third, if the third person was super well polished and all that, you'd want, you definitely want the character creator, but it is a nice touch that they have.
like a good set of tools in there for you to be able to set up your preferred character look and feel. So that's good. But yeah, so if you guys are curious, then yeah, go and check out the demo because I'm enjoying it so far. I will update you guys once I get further in and actually have some significant amounts of playtime.
Because, yeah, like I said, I only just kind of made it through the prologue and poked around in the first little area after that. So I haven't really gotten too far into it.
it's fun so far and i really like the just the arthurian legend um i was gonna say like hints but like it's not hints like that's the story is they're using characters from arthurian legend and then like bringing them into their game so like it is very it's very front and center there's no if answer buts about that so uh yeah i'm i'm i'm really enjoying it though so you guys should go and check it out
You should also check out patreon.com slash thegamersin if you like what Ryan and I do. We've totally revamped the site. We've got a lot of new ideas and a lot of patron-specific content that's going to be going up over on the Patreon. So there's a reason to be over. there now just like our may patron shatterproof thank you so much for supporting the gamers in um we are going to also be bringing back our monthly game nights
So the third Friday of every month, starting June 20th, so next month, we're going to start with doing game nights again. We're not streaming or anything like that. We're just going to go and hang out in Discord and play some games. It's going to be a lot of fun. yep and voted on by uh the patrons so you folks get to pick what we play and uh we'll i don't know do we like we'll take suggestions and put together a poll we haven't figured that out but uh
It will be chosen by the patrons. We're doing it live. It's not just going to be Fortnite. That sounds like a good idea. But it could be Fortnite. It could be. Could be, you know, one of the things we discussed was maybe this gets us to play Smite 2. Smite was a, you know, we called it Smite Night. That was a staple. Yeah, that was a staple of Game Night back in the day. Like, back literally...
Like 10 years ago. Yeah. And for folks who weren't around in the beginning, we used to play, we used to do game night every week after we recorded. Yeah. Can't do that now. We were young and stupid and now we are old and have responsibilities. Yeah. I think by the time we finished recording, I mean, any podcast really that starts after 8.30 PM is like, I'm tired and I'm going to bed.
yeah i literally like ryan and i used to hang out so much and now i'm just like um it is 10 p.m it is so far past my bedtime i need to hang up on you now Abby was up at five this morning. Oh, my God. Yeah. What even happened to us, Ryan? We used to be cool. I mean, we're still cool. We're still yelling about Zelda lore and Halo and all that.
Right? That's cool. Is that cool? I don't know anymore, Jocelyn, honestly. I need someone to tell me if that's cool. We play Fortnite. It's pretty hip. That is true. I just called it hip though. Yeah. Oh my God. Let's move on. How did this happen? How did this happen? Okay, reminder, Twilight Princess Game Club has wrapped. So the finale post is up. We are going to schedule something in the next few weeks to have our final chat. So keep your eyes out in the Discord for that.
Again, all of the stuff that we're talking about will be done over in the Discord, which is tiny.cc slash TGI Discord. That brings us to the news this week. Ryan, what is Warhammer Skulls?
Is that their Nintendo Direct, but for Warhammer? Yes. You hit the nail on the head there, right? On the skull? Yeah. You hit the... you hit the the nail on the skull i don't know that i mean you know how i did that i literally opened the news article and was like wow that scroll bar is way too big to be just a game clearly this is like there's too much in here and everything
says warham warhammer 40k there's way too many things i don't understand and close there's a lot of so we always joke that there's a warhammer game that comes out every week And I mean, at least every month, I think it's like it's not a joke to say there's a new Warhammer game that comes out every month. And I think this is a proof of the fact that the franchise. is very busy, especially in the licensing department. Like they are putting out new games all the time.
And we have a lot of fans in our Discord who are big Warhammer fans, and they were talking about this event. And I thought, OK, we should cover this on the show. I know we all don't play a lot of Warhammer games, but Space Marine 2. That was a lot of fun. Yeah, you really enjoyed that one. Yeah, I loved it. And it was a good throwback to, like, well, the Space Marine 1 days. And funny enough, in this...
In this event, they had news for both those games. They're doing a proper remaster of Space Marine 1. They're calling it... Gave it a silly name. Oh, Space Marine Master Crafted Edition. Ah. That's good. Why didn't they call it the Warhammered Edition? I don't know. Maybe they should. No, that was really stupid. Pretend I didn't say anything. Take it out in post. Continue. I don't, I marked it so I can clip it. So, um, no, no, but I think that that makes sense. Um,
So they had that. Space Marine 2 is going to have a new patch coming out end of June that introduces their Horde mode, which they're calling Siege. So that's really cool. I'm looking forward to trying that out. They had a bunch of news about, I guess they're making a Boltgun 2, which is a throwback to the old school Doom shooters, like from Doom 1 and Doom 2 and whatnot.
So they're getting a sequel for that. They had a free game that I added to my Steam library, which is called Words of Vengeance, which you remember those like old school typing games that you could play. Where you have to type a word? Like Mavis Beacon teaches typing? Maybe. I don't know what that is. What was that? I was thinking more like typing of the dead or something.
I don't know. The only typing thing I remember is fucking Mavis. I don't, I don't know if I, I mean, it sounds familiar, but I don't think. Oh my god, it came out in 1987. Ryan, this episode is making me feel so old. I don't think the 1987 version is the one I used, but still.
oof it's a good year uh no well now you can learn to type again with uh words of vengeance it's free on steam and um it it reminds me of uh There's a game called Typing of the Dead, which is House of the Dead, which is a arcade shooter where, you know, the light gun shooting games you can see in the arcades. So it's like that, but instead of shooting with a light gun, you're typing the words over top of the enemies to shoot them. Very surprisingly fun.
honestly like to to type out a word and well i mean it sounds like you had actual games and i just had learned to type programs i think yours were just gonna be more fun yeah oh no doubt no doubt um They have a new they announced some DLC for Rogue Trader, which is their CRPG game that came out, I think, last year. And they have a new. crpg they're working on called warhammer 40 000 dark heresy but uh yeah there was like 20 games in this like 20 games slash updates
Including, oh, Dawn of War Definitive Edition. That one would have been a good one to call Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War Warhammered Edition. I feel like. And because I the longest title in the history of video games, but it's Warhammer. So it works because all these titles are like a mouthful. Uh, so yeah. And there's a bunch of mobile games in here, but I just.
I think it's really cool that the IP of Warhammer has its shit together that it can do one event to talk about all the games coming out. Like Marvel, DC, they don't do this. But, you know, it's really cool to see that an IP has their stuff organized so well that they can do an event that was, I think about it, I think it was quite long, almost an hour.
Uh, where they could just talk about all the games and they're not even games being made internally by the Warhammer company. I don't know what's called. Is it just called Warhammer? I guess. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
I feel like I should know that, but, but it is really cool that they can kind of like connect all those dots. And, and, and again, like some of the biggest entertainment companies in the world, like Disney doesn't even do like, here's all the Disney games that are coming out. Disney wish upon a star stream, or I don't know what they'd call it.
I feel like there's so many Warhammer games coming out, though, that literally, like, it would probably be the easiest IP to pirate, because you could release your game as a Warhammer 40k game, and then just be like... uh yeah you gave me permission come on can't you keep up with your own ip and then someone at warhammer would just be like uh yeah yeah we totally greenlit that project right oh yeah everyone everyone knows about that We're making Warhammer 40k Mavis beamings. What was it typing?
I miss Beacon's typing. I was close. I learned to type it. I can't believe that you've never used that. I'm pretty sure we used that in school. That must be it. Although my mom was really into computers. I'm pretty sure that, yeah, she might have made me do typing exercises at home. I had such a fun childhood. Well, I mean, learning to type is critical, so. Oh, yeah, my mom was just ahead of her time, I guess. Yeah. Anyways, lots of Warhammer stuff.
Go check out the Warhammer Skulls 2025 announcements for everything that we missed here. There's also a live-action Elden Ring film that is now officially in development. I am very excited about this because it means I get to see the story and all the cool art direction and I do not have to play Souls-like combat. So yes to all of this. Yeah. I mean, the major question is though, like, like how, how big of a Perry window are you going to have to deal with when you go to see this film?
And what is the popcorn bucket going to look like? Well, yes, that is the question for every major cinematic release these days is what is the popcorn bucket going to look like? And why is it not as good as Deadpool and Wolverine?
Oh, okay. Well, here's a challenge for everyone in the discord. When you get to this point in the episode, load up your phone. And, uh, if you're an elder ring fan, put a gift into the discord of like what you think the popcorn bucket should be based on. And I think that would like.
be a lot of fun and confusing to a lot of people as well i think having played a little bit of elden ring there's like treasure chests that will like eat you and teleport you to another place like that might be that's probably an easy one Like, maybe I'm not quite straightforward. Yeah, it's got to be super creepy or super weird. that's what they seem to go with and there's a lot to choose from in Elden Ring there's a lot of like really crazy creepy designs I don't know how this
Having played enough Elden Ring, I don't know how it works as a live action film. I'm sure there's a story they could tell and the environments alone are going to be like... beautiful when they when they sort of capture the thing right like that's what i mean like i don't even really care what the story of elden ring is like the visuals are so stunning that every single time i see
an announcement, a trailer, gameplay, anything. And I look at it and I'm like, oh my God, I would love to just be in that world. And then like the Elden Ring logo pops up and I'm like, for fuck's sakes. It's always Elden Ring. I always get sucked in to their visuals and their art style and their character design. And then I realized that their gameplay would just kill me.
Literally, like so I am so excited for this. Like, I don't even care what story they tell. I just want to look at it for two hours. Yeah, no, I agree. I think visually. From a live action standpoint, I think they can do some really interesting things with the visuals there. But it'll be really interesting to see like.
And the character designs of like the NPCs and the main characters. I'm really looking forward to seeing those. And yeah, like it'll be like, and it's going to be a creepy movie. Like honestly, like the designs of.
everything of all the npcs the monsters like it's just got this weird edge to it that just i think when they reproduce it in live action with you know high fidelity effects and stuff it's it's gonna be a wild thing to see so uh it's actually honestly surprising that they are making a movie on elder ring because it just it
I think it comes down to probably the look and feel of the game more so than like the gameplay. Obviously you wouldn't, you're not adapting the gameplay into a movie, but I think it's just taking the vibe and the feel. And transporting that and adapting it is probably enough to make the move. And I think it's being done by A24, which is like a studio that's kind of known for its, you know.
it always feels like they make films that are like sort of out there and uh you know very i don't want to say niche but like like the one film they have is like death of a unicorn it really feels like all their movies have this like
I don't know, like this artistic but weirdness to it. The one movie that comes to mind is Death of the Unicorn, which I have not seen, but they have a lot of those movies in their sort of... catalog and they have a very specific uh uh vibe they're going for and i think elder ring fits really well in there I agree. I'm really looking forward to it. I think it's going to be awesome as long as they don't wreck it with too much CGI. Well, hopefully it'll be done in a way where you won't notice.
Yeah, I just, oh, I feel like they could do so well with practical. Yes. Oh, like, yeah, like Pan's Labyrinth kind of thing. Yes, yes. Yep. Yeah, that's my that's my wish. Yeah. Yeah, we'll update you guys when we get more information about that. We do have an update from last week. Fortnite is officially back in the U.S. Apple App Store, so you can go and download that right now, today, should you wish to play Fortnite on your Apple mobile device.
Yeah. Is this the end, Ryan? Are they finally done butting heads? I don't think so. I think Epic would very much like Fortnite to return. everywhere, not just the US and the EU. And I think in the EU, they are still stuck in the sort of non-app store ecosystem, the epic.
side-loaded game store that that is now that component is allowed there in the you um but it is interesting you know we talked about this last episode and that like the ruling that sort of allowed Fortnite to, now it has come back, is only applicable in the US, but because the US is such a large market...
And there's always been a lot of talk when it comes to these competitive rulings to make companies do specific things. Like, for example, the reason all of our iPhones have, well, if you have an iPhone, it's USB-C now. That was a ruling. in the eu and because it's like well if we have to do it in the eu we might as well do it everywhere just to keep manufacturing sort of stable like simple yeah apple's kind of developing like a lot of
Like they're picking and choosing. It's like, okay, we're forced to do this here. We don't like it, but we have to do it here in order to be able to sell our devices and apps. But we don't have to do it, say, in Canada, right? Like we don't have... alternative stores on our on our apple devices um like apple is still kind of developing these concessions to specific regions and and now it's happening in the us with these rulings and
And like they still don't see fit to apply it everywhere because that is the idea is like Epic. They said they're doing this big fight so that it can be fair everywhere. But they are in the U.S. courts. Yeah, which is so I do want to talk about that a little bit because like so the example that they use is in this article is 2800 V-Bucks, which is the Fortnite currency is 23 bucks, right?
So you get the option of doing the in-app purchase, which would then send the money to Apple, or you get the option of using the Epic Store. Same price. It's just you're deciding if you want to send your money to Epic or if you want to send your money to Apple. And then Epic does give you the bonus of earning money in Epic rewards. But like...
you're still paying the same amount of dollars. It's just Epic is trying to get you to send them the bonus money instead of sending Apple the bonus money. So like, and I kind of... I get it because like Apple probably wouldn't let them implement just a straight up lower price. But yeah, I don't know. It just it doesn't feel as like. benevolent or whatever as as consumer forward as what they were kind of originally like setting themselves up as right the champion of the consumer
Like the consumer is still spending 23 bucks, right? It's just, are you spending it with Epic or are you spending it with Apple? And yeah, you do get your full, you do get the full 20% back, which is I guess what Apple would charge in there. ecosystem on the back end that you'd never see um but then you have to go spend that in the epic store right so like you're probably not going to find anything in the epic store for four dollars and sixty cents
So then it's the same problem that we've talked about with countless games when they don't let you buy the like exact amount of stuff you need. So like you buy a hundred. units of currency. The thing you need is 80 units of currency. You have 20 units of currency left over. And then nothing costs 20 units of currency. So then you have to either buy more currency or just let that money sit there like you paid it all in the first place. You know what I mean?
So it's just a way to keep people coming back and purchasing more and more and more in your ecosystem. So it's nice you're getting something back and not just sending the money straight to, you know, Apple for no reason. But it's not as like... All good as they would like you to think. Yeah. No, I mean, neither of these companies are. Look, if you're if chances are, if you're a giant corporation, a big company, like your interest is.
is profit it's not your profits you say you say like oh we're doing this for the for the consumers for the gamers and i'm like um i don't i don't buy it you know like it just doesn't work that way and uh you know Fortnite or sorry, Epic was fight since 2020 has been fighting Apple so that, as you said, Apple doesn't take 30% of all their Fortnite purchases and they will throw figures back and forth about how much money, you know.
economic growth they bring to you know small developers on either the epic store or the apple store but at the end of the day they both take a cut and i and and what what epic wants is for fortnite to make billions of dollars on apple devices and or epic yeah for just for epic and yeah i think there is an argument that is being thrown around of like well apple should get some money but like 30 percent
And 30% is what they asked for. And I think a lot of arguments have been made that 30% is too much. And I agree. But yeah, it's just a weird, it's... We talked about it last week. It's mudslinging back and forth. It's a high school fight over billions of dollars. And I don't know. I don't know what the solution is. Apple will be fine if Fortnite is able to have its own payment processor. Fortnite will be fine if Apple continues to take 30%.
like this isn't about like everybody's fine you're nickel and diming each other at this point except for the nickels and dimes they're billions of dollars and it's our money not yeah it's our money not theirs you know it's not like it's not like epic is it's us paying and i get it the argument that epic has made is like well if you uh but and then they argued like if if we
If you use our payment processor, it costs this much. If you use Apple's, it costs this much and they add the Apple tax on top. It's the same thing that Patreon was going through with Apple and has been walked back, at least in the US. You know, developers and businesses are starting to put that Apple tax on top of their normal prices. Spotify was doing this. Netflix was doing this. And I think they just stopped. They just like, no, subscribe on the web.
access your content in the app and they were big enough to kind of like have that not affect their their business but yeah at the end of the day like none of them are neither of them are backing down and and i think
I think Epic is hoping that with this ruling, which it seems like it's working in their favor, they'll be able to keep Fortnite on the App Store, at least in the US. And hopefully other regions will... uh get some of these we'll follow yeah well we'll see and if we have any more updates for you then we will tell you right here uh so tell me about xbox what is going on here
Yeah, I thought this was interesting. So Xbox and AntStream Arcade have launched a retro classics service on Game Pass. And what this is, is it's streaming. classic games uh i believe mostly from the activision sort of catalog because obviously xbox okay yeah wasn't like i it's hard to say like what retro is these days and i know
Xbox should be considered retro at this stage. It's been around for a while, but we're talking like Atari games, like old school, you know, late seventies, early eighties type stuff. And yeah, they're talking about there's going to be more Activision and Blizzard titles to come. This is part of like Microsoft getting access to this huge back catalog.
from before they even existed as a video game company and being able to offer all these streaming titles or all these retro titles via streaming, which is pretty cool. It's very Nintendo like, you know, with the Nintendo subscription service where you get access to their classics. Although in this case, it seems like Xbox is dropping large collections as opposed to saying like.
here's three new games every month three at a time yeah yeah make sure you stay subscribed for the next 18 months so you can see our full catalog yeah so this is a better approach Uh, and I guess it's a retro classics app that you can get through your game pass store. I had meant to like check this out, you know, with the story, but, uh, but.
it is interesting. Like not only is it available on game pass, but you can purchase the full and stream arcade catalog for, uh, $10 for their first year. Uh, but this ends June 4th. So the, how is that the first year? I don't know. that's that's a week yeah maybe you get access for a year probably get access for a year probably i'm guessing like an introductory price which again like why is it a subscription
Yeah, yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I guess because maybe it's a streaming service. And so it's not like it's not Microsoft, but like they've partnered with this. and stream arcade it's it's an interesting sort of it seems to be more of a partnership but they are calling it retro classics xbox so um
But yeah, it's a separate app you install on your Xbox and you stream all these titles. But like they have 61 titles at launch. I'm looking at these and like a lot of Atari 2600. You've got a couple of PC ones. Yeah, PC DOS. There's actually, I saw, like, PlayStation and Nintendo are both on there. Oh, yeah, MechWarrior. Like, a lot of, there's some Space Quest in there. Zork, I recognize that one.
never played it but i recognize it uh so yeah like this is it's a neat it's a neat concept like i think that more access to these retro titles is important and when we talk about you know, the only way sometimes to access them is through emulation. It's really cool when, I mean, this is probably emulation as well, but it's like official offered by, you know, the licensed owners. It's not like you.
playing on an amber nick or something so um it's good the more we have access to this stuff the more people get to play it and it preserves history and it's it's just a i think a really neat service I mean, anytime you can kind of like bring old, like old, old games to current gen stuff to give more people a chance to have those experiences. I think it's a good thing, even if it.
does have a subscription yeah i'm still not a fan of that but we'll see what they add to the catalog over time and and maybe a subscription will start to make more sense As opposed to just like, this is our catalog. This is always going to be our catalog and this should have been a bundle. It's the, this should have been an email of game offerings. This should have been a bundle. Damn it. yeah and that that's how it used to work because you'd buy like the yeah you know collection and
I think that that or like way back in the day, you just go buy like a CD and it would have like 10 games on it from whenever. But yeah, they don't do that anymore. Oh, no. Pokemon Legends. I guess it's probably Z to A, not Z to A. Z to A got a release date, so it's coming October 16th. then the switch two edition because it's coming to both right switch and switch two yes it is
Yeah, so the Switch 2 edition is going to have better graphics and frame rates, which is to be expected. If there was no, like, no difference, then again, why would you buy a Switch 2, Ryan? Why would you buy a Switch 2? uh yeah for reasons reasons and things and stuff reasons yeah uh but yeah so uh like i said october 16th uh you can pre-order it next week though that's gonna be available
Are you, is this a Pokemon you're going to be picking up? I mean, you're going to have the Switch 2, so you're going to have to buy something for it. Yeah, yeah. It is interesting that they just kind of tweeted that this was coming out October 16th. Or if in my case, if you are following the many sort of unofficial reposters on Blue Sky because you don't go to that website anymore.
It's interesting they just kind of dropped it alongside, I think they are doing some sort of presentation in June or something. But yeah, this is kind of what we should expect from... a lot of titles that are cross-generation, just, you know, Nintendo-standardized improved graphics and frame rates.
Yeah, it will be better because it is new. Thank you, Nintendo. But that's what we wanted, right? I think anybody who played Pokemon... um scarlet and violet is like man i could really go for some improved graphics and frame rates so uh that's fair Yeah, I do want to retry those. I do have, I think, Scarlet and I did play a little bit of it and I kind of bounced off it because it was it was rough around the edges. And I would like to see what.
the improved graphics and frame rate for those titles look like because it's getting a patch. That's another thing that I'll touch on eventually with the Switch 2 is what those... what the patches are actually like yeah they are patches they're like what did they call them is it enhanced versions well there are there's kind of several versions there's like
There's the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience Edition. The Experience, that's it. Yeah, but then there are like Nintendo Switch 2. improvement patches or visual upgrades or something there's a nintendo phrase for it but there's like patches which are free there's the enhanced editions which are a paid upgrade And then there are the exclusive Nintendo Switch 2 games, of which there are a few. But we are getting a good chunk of patches for some first-party titles.
Some of which are like, oh, that's a neat touch. And others are like, where is like, for example, Mario and Luigi Brothership had some performance issues on the Switch one. And I was like, oh, man, I'll I'll play that. I own it, and I'd love to keep playing it on the Switch 2, but it's not listed for a patch. So Nintendo isn't looking at all their later titles and saying, let's get a patch for this so that...
so that it runs well on the, or runs improved on the Switch 2. They're kind of like picking and choosing. So it's not every game, but yeah, I'm hoping they expand that. But in this case, Pokemon Legends Z to A is, it's a Nintendo Switch 2 edition that you'll be able to pick up and upgrade.
The question I do have, and I don't know if the answer is out there, is like, this kind of popped into my brain the other day when we were talking about Switch games in the Discord. Will the Nintendo Switch 2 edition give you... the ability to play that on your Nintendo Switch, right? I don't like the Nintendo sort of mentality makes me think that you won't be able to, even though if you bought the Switch version.
you could then buy the switch to upgrade, but I would think, cause Nintendo is like very locked down in everything that they do. So I would say like, probably not like if you buy the switch two version that's where you play it doesn't matter if you have a switch one yeah yeah yeah it's it's hard to say like you know other companies like xbox and playstation they offer like
both versions xbox for sure if you bought it you just buy the xbox version and it works on whatever platform it supports i think playstation also did the ps5 like if you bought the ps5 version It was it would only work on the PS5. So maybe they're going the PlayStation route. Yeah, I don't know. I just assume because Nintendo seems to be very like.
big sticklers for that now this is the first cross generation where they have offered those like upgrades or whatever right so I mean maybe it would work on both but um I mean, why would you buy the Switch 2 edition if you didn't have a Switch 2? Yeah. So I'm looking at this. So according to this, you will be able to play. So yes, you can play Nintendo Switch 2 edition games on your original Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Switch can run both physical and digital Nintendo Switch 2 edition games. I don't know. It just seems, it seems too, it seems so on Nintendo like to allow that kind of flexibility. Like I get playing switch games on your switch too, but, but yeah, I can, yeah, I can understand like playing the older ones on the newer.
Playing the newer ones on the older doesn't make a lot of sense. But yeah, you'll be able to tell us in a week or two. So that's exciting. I will test it personally. Yeah, there you go. Then I have to buy a Switch 2 edition and I don't. I don't know. I don't know what I don't know if there's any of those coming out launch to try. Someone will figure it out.
It might not be me. Oh, you mean there's not a lot of content available on that expensive system that you bought? Who knew? Well, look, I'm not buying... What's the Nintendo Switch... oh the yeah the what are they at launch like they're they are quite expensive but i'm wondering what what they are like i know you have the breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom um yeah like
I don't know. I think there, we are, there are still those games that like would technically be sort of backwards compatible. Like for example, like you're getting a Nintendo switch to.
edition of cyberpunk 2077 but that doesn't that's not a game that's upgraded from the nintendo switch so we might have to wait a bit before we can figure that out but uh but yeah we'll see like In the case of this, it makes more sense for Nintendo to actually allow it because if you have a Switch and you have a Switch 2 and you...
i don't know you want to play it on both consoles and jump back and forth but they're both portable so maybe it really doesn't matter because you can't play it at the same time it's not like you can do like a multiplayer session like i know they got rid of that ability like you have you can only play the game on one console at a time so
uh finally tonight uh we have some bad news for black panther fans because ea has canceled their black panther game which for a second i thought was the the marvel uh rise of hydra game that i'm actually really looking forward to which is black panther um Captain America kind of like duo game where you get to, as far as I understand, you get to play as both characters and it follows them through like World War II and the rise of Hydra.
And I thought that's at first I thought that's what this was. But no, like we talked about earlier with all the people doing Warhammer stuff, there's a lot of people doing Marvel stuff. And EA has now canceled the Black Panther game and also closed the studio.
that was responsible for it which I think the studio itself only opened in like 2023 like they just made the studio and then they were like oh no just kidding like man oh man and that's the now third round of layoffs at ea this year like come on guys where is uh cliffhanger games situated i wonder if it i wonder if it's like i don't actually know
Like where they actually physically sit. Yeah, because I wonder if it's like in a high cost location. Sometimes EA has been known to like startup studios in like very expensive locations. and and shutter them like i think uh visceral the folks behind dead space they were in a in a high cost area uh this is this is tragic though because honestly like it's not not only do you have
300 people who have lost their jobs or are being sort of shuffled around. They do talk in the article about EA having a placement program because they are such a large corporation. they do seek to find other positions within the company for, for folks who have been impacted. So that's like, that's a good thing because we often talk about better than nothing. Yeah. You know, Microsoft doing all these layoffs and like, why don't.
they have some sort of program. They might have it, but it never sort of comes up. So it is good that EA has that in place to, to hopefully retain talent. but we don't know like what shape the game was in. Like we did, we only got an, I don't even know if it was like, and now I know it was, there was like a press release. Like we've never seen a trailer. We don't know how far we haven't seen anything.
Yeah, we haven't seen anything from it, just that it was in the works, basically, for a couple of years. no actual information about it ever um but they did say that the company's now going to focus on a handful of franchises so battlefield the sims even though they've said they're not making a sims 5 so like are you just going to make more crappy mobile shit like anyways um yeah battlefield the sims yeah right uh skate and apex legends so yeah i did look it up cliffhanger games is in seattle
So I think that's an expensive place to do business as well. I don't know if that was part of their discussions of this, but it is wild to see. Like, not only a game, but a whole studio go away when the studio hasn't had a chance to make a game yet. To make anything yet, yeah. I mean, was it that bad? I don't know. I mean, honestly, it...
I would I would because we haven't seen the game. We don't know. But where my brain puts it is. It's almost like Electronic Arts is like, oh, we we lost the license to the exclusive license to Star Wars.
Let's do a bunch of Marvel stuff. And they have another game. They have the Iron Man game they're working on, which is at Motive. And they were doing a Black Panther game at, you know, Cliffhanger. And it's like, it just felt like... sort of grabbing as many IPs as they could to like build these huge games and you know like Electronic Arts just hasn't had a lot of
luck with their big triple a uh you know campaign experiences i loved dragon age the veil guard but it didn't quote unquote live up to their expectations and now bioware is like mass effect better be good or else you know yeah and i i often wonder like well what does electronic arts have like they have respawn
but even respawns being hit with layoffs and cancellations. Yeah, that was, I think, yeah, last year, I think there was, there were respawn layoffs. So yeah, it doesn't seem like anyone in, well. It doesn't seem like anyone in the industry was safe. I was going to say it doesn't seem like anyone in EA is safe, but it's not just an EA problem. It's industry-wide.
Yeah, it super sucks. And it is funny, though, that they like double down on the Iron Man game and said that their partnership was still strong. It's like, OK, but you had a three game deal. You canceled Black Panther. We haven't seen anything about Iron Man and you haven't even announced what the third game is. So like, is that a strong partnership? I don't know. We'll have to see. But yeah.
We're not getting an EA Black Panther game anymore, but as I did mention, the... rise of hydra game that is not tied to ea in any way shape or form that is still coming out uh although i think we covered a few months ago it is being delayed until 2026 but I'm okay with delaying if it makes the game better. So I'm still really looking forward to that one. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. But yeah, no more EA Black Panther title. But maybe, maybe an Iron Man title. We'll see.
Yeah, yeah. I want to see what that Captain America Black Panther video game that's coming out next year now is going to be like. And maybe that contributed to their decision.
maybe yeah maybe they thought that they didn't want to like compete so directly like it's one thing to you know have one company making the captain america game and then they're making iron man but then when you're like okay we're making black panther and you're making black fan black panther there's going to be so many like head-to-head comparisons there because same character right so
you know how does he move how does the combat feel like there's just so many more direct comparisons maybe they feel that they just didn't want to go up against rise of hydra and instead they're pivoting to do iron man and then whatever maybe a black widow i don't know Yeah. Yeah. I do not know. The third title is unannounced. Do not come at me.
it could be hulk could be like thor who knows hulk would be i'd play a thor i would play a thor for sure yeah man those those old hulk games on the gamecube We're amazing.
