come on in pull up a chair next to the fire it looks like you've had a long journey i'm your host jocelyn and joining me as always is my co-host ryan hello ryan hello two weeks i was gonna make a two weeks reference like I don't know if you know that. That movie, Total Recall. Wow, everything you just said went way over my head. Oh, really? You've never seen Total Recall?

no oh man i got nightmares watching it because there's a scene where they're like eyes are bulging out and then like years later i realized like that doesn't happen when lose atmosphere. Because they're on Mars, right? Oh, of course. And then they're out of the space station. Right. And then their eyes start going... Anyways, you should watch Total Recall. Nah, I think I'm good.

There's a scene where a woman says, two weeks, two weeks, and has nothing to do with the Switch release other than it's out in two weeks. Oh, you're talking about the Switch release. Now I got there. This would have been a lot smoother if you had seen... total recall so what we're gonna do is we're gonna pause this recording we're gonna go find it where it's streaming we're gonna watch it or maybe fast forward to that scene but no the main thing is is there's a scene where this lady's

i don't know wait no it's arnold's i don't want to spoil it but two weeks two weeks is a thing in total recall and we're excited about the switch got it Well, you're excited about the Switch. I have not and will not pre-order. I don't know if I'm excited is the right word, but I think I am excited. Honestly, it's been so busy. I haven't had time. to get excited.

I don't understand spending the amount of money that you're going to be spending on something that you're not even excited about. Like, what is happening right now? When I realized, I think what happened, I read a... post that it's like 15 days away and then when i read that i was like holy crap that is so soon and then i got really excited about like playing the nintendo switch 2 uh but like Since there's so much going on, it's so busy, my brain can't really stay on that.

It's weird. It's just, it's been really busy lately and lots of stuff going on. Most of it is my undoing. Like I just, every day it's like, I should add these six things to the list to do.

before i take a break and then every day there's six things you'd think eventually you'd run out of stuff to add to the list but you never run out of things for the list ever so evidently you have to watch total recall so you've got at least one thing i have one thing exactly i'll put it right at the top i promise Definitely not crossing my fingers right now.

At the end of the show, let's see who has the longer to-do list. All right? Sounds good. Sounds good. So how's Blueprints coming along? Oh, crap. No, I have not played it since. So it's... All right, there. Put it on the list. On the to-do list. I have so many apps for lists. Like, honestly, if I were to say how many, I'd be like, that's more than one, and that's too many. I think I have three apps that are specifically lists.

But does notes count? Wow, that is too many. Yes, notes count. Okay, then three. I'm pretty sure like your calendar counts too. Four. Okay. Is there any other apps I'm missing? I guess a calendar for sure. I mean, what else? Yeah, that's it. Four. That's not bad. That's pretty bad. That's not very organized. Wow. What about open tabs? If you use open tabs in Firefox as a to-do list, that's also probably more. Oh my god, Ryan.

Your organization or lack thereof is going to give me like an aneurysm. But what if it's organized me like i kind of know the system i guess that's what counts as long as your system works for you that's that's what counts but i'm pretty sure your your system would just oh my god make my brain explode But then I look at the notes here and I see that for blueprints, you have 385 pages. Is that organized by chance?

It is not as organized as I would like. Okay. If I were to do it all again. I feel like I'm too deep now. Yeah. But if I were to do it all again. Oh my God, I would annotate my screenshots. I would organize things like way, way better. I just, The problem with blueprints for me is that like Because of the RNG of it all, I am not finding anything in order. And when I find something, I'm like, I have no idea what this relates to.

But I know I'm going to need it in the future. It's definitely important. It's definitely a clue. I just don't know what puzzle the clue goes with. So it's very hard when you're finding everything in totally random orders. to the point that you don't even know the puzzle yet, it's really hard to, like, take that chunk of information and put it in the right place because you don't know what the right place is when you find it. So, yes.

My 385 pages, I am very, very glad that I made a Google Doc because at least it's searchable if I remembered to put text in. Yeah, I didn't always, especially at the beginning.

add like text searchable text to my images so I usually added the room where I found stuff so at least if I can remember hey I saw something about this in the library then I can type in library and it takes me to the library section but yeah it could be so much better yeah it could be so much more organized well added to the list now you got two uh yeah my my blueprints notes are uh 421. Yeah, it's huge. It's like...

When I press, like, control F to try to find stuff in the document, like, it hangs. It's getting too big. I might have to start another one. You're going to have to update your Google One subscription and pay for additional storage if you keep this up. Exactly. Exactly. So yeah, I'm still plugging away at that. I can't believe how much more game is there. I'm over 100 hours in the game now. And I...

I think I'm probably like halfway through. I have a lot of achievements still to get, but it's not even so much the achievements is that like, I'm pretty sure I haven't even. started to try to solve what most walkthroughs consider like the late game puzzles air quote Just so you know, Ryan, getting to room 46 is considered an early game puzzle. So I wasn't too far off when I said getting to room 46 was kind of the tutorial. Well, I am failing at the tutorial then.

apparently apparently um but yeah so i uh yeah i i did i did look something up because I had somewhere between 7 and 10 days in a row where I didn't really accomplish anything, so I hit a bit of a wall. And so I finally ended up crafting a new item that I'd never seen before. And I was like, I couldn't go anywhere else in my house. I'm like, okay, I'm going to Google this item because I really need to know.

if I can use it today before I lose it because I haven't even seen these things together before. So I ended up Googling it and then helping me, it kind of cascaded into finding out a whole bunch of other things and unlocking a whole bunch of other things. So yeah, that's, and through that Googling process, I found kind of like, where i was in the game kind of like i i tried to avoid spoilers and that's one thing about like reddit posts about blueprints even walkthroughs of blueprints like

So many things are heavily marked with spoilers and text is hidden. The community around this game is very much preserving the mystery any way that they can. really appreciate that because like, I don't want to know the solution to everything. I don't want to know all the information in the game when I need to Google something. So yeah, the community has been awesome around this game because yeah, I've been able to like...

The one or two times I've actually had to look something up because I've been really stuck. Then I haven't been spoiled with like everything. I want to say everything that comes after, but again, because of the RNG in this game, there is no before and after. It's like everything else that comes. That game is still... a puzzle and just a mystery to me. so massive it's just so massive it's it's unbelievable like i had no idea when i was getting into this how big it actually was like

I was expecting another Lorelei, which, you know, like, it took a significant amount of time and had a very straightforward narrative. Like, I absolutely loved Lorelei. Everybody who listens to this show knows that. And I was expecting another one of that. It is not that in the, like, best ways, considering how much I loved Lorelai, so... Yeah, I just can't get it out of my head. Even when I stop playing it for like four or five days, like it's there. It's like an itch I have to scratch.

Yeah, it makes me think in all the right, most interesting ways. What's your time played up to at this stage? 106 hours oh wow that's a lot and i think i'm on i think i'm on day 76 I think. Okay. That is a lot. Yeah, it's a lot. I haven't started, like, multiple playthroughs, though. So I'm still on my original OG save file. Yeah. Interesting. I almost wonder if getting to that 46th room will unlock my ability to understand how people have played this game for so much time.

Because I'm working my way through it. I'm trying to get to room 46. And I start to see... the boundaries of, I guess, these initial mechanics, which is the first 46 rooms. And my brain's like, I want to understand.

you know what comes next the truth is out there i need to understand it i need to seek it out and i'm like i think that uh and depending how many days in you are I think for me, the kind of like greater story and world building and kind of mystery didn't really start to present itself until probably like. 15-ish days in, the narrative did take me quite a while to actually find. Like, they really kind of go mechanics first, narrative second.

But once you start to find those breadcrumbs, for me, I couldn't leave the strings alone. I had to pull them and figure out where they went. Not everybody thinks like that. Not everybody games like that. you know fully possible that blueprints just is not your thing but for me it's like I might put 300 hours into this game by the end. There's just so much to see and find and figure out. Yeah, that's fair. Honestly, I totally get that.

for some folks like the initial appeal just sticks with it and uh i haven't had that you know drive to return to it and but that's not the game's fault like let's be honest like is it is me i am distracted by so many other things happening Yeah, and I have seen a lot of people who typically... really enjoy puzzle games bouncing off of this game because of the RNG elements like it does get frustrating when

you have a very specific thing that you're trying to do, which I think was the reason why I was having so many issues. It's like I was trying to do one very specific thing that I knew that I had to do. And it hinged on getting one very specific room at the beginning. So I didn't get that. I knew the day was shot for the thing that I wanted to do. So then I was just kind of aimlessly exploring and not really trying to solve anything.

And that got a little bit tedious. So yeah, like I can see how... People who like puzzle games and know what they have to do, being unable to do that because of RNG, bouncing off of this game really hard. Just because, like, that can be really, really, really, really frustrating. I've kind of learned over my runs that, like, if you're trying to do one thing, just Try something different, like do something different, go somewhere else.

stop trying to do it because that's where the frustration lies is in trying to bend the rng to your will yeah no i i think i think that's fair like that that is i think a common suggestion for most roguelike and roguelites is to is to just embrace change, embrace the chaos. Embrace the random. Yeah, exactly. And there is so much to find and there is so much to solve.

You might hit almost like a bottleneck, but that's probably a bottleneck of your own making. Like, just try going back. Try looking at your notes. Look for another thread to pull. Look for another thing to do. take another look at the room that you just drafted like there's always more stuff there's always more stuff you just have to kind of pay attention i guess

But yeah, I can see how that would be frustrating and not like be a game you have to be in the mood for, for sure. But I know I don't want to talk about blueprints anymore because I feel like that's all I've been talking about for like, what, two months? Probably. Yeah, it's been an ongoing part of my life for sure. But you tried something new this week. You went into Doom Dark Ages.

I did, yes. I was very much looking forward to Doom, the new Doom, and I had a chance to play a really good chunk. I would say I'm, well, just based on the chapters, I am in the last...

third of the game. I've been... playing it quite a bit since it launched wait the last third the last third yeah oh my god okay so how many how many hours are you into doom i don't know i'm playing it on xbox but i'm on chapter 16 of 22 so i'm i'm fairly i was just curious with me saying after 100 hours i'm like maybe halfway through blueprints curious as to how big doom was doom is not blueprints uh big this is a uh high budget triple a uh narrative single player game so like they they have uh

They have a ceiling there for how much they can pump into this thing. And I am not done with Expedition 33. I am going to go back to it. I think that the difference between expedition 33 and doom, the dark ages is like, doom is is like the the junk food it's the bag of doritos it's it's like oh i gotta have this and just finish it up and you know you can't leave you know empty bag of doritos it's gonna happen But Expedition 33 is that, like...

Look, I hesitate to say fine wine. I don't like wine, but it's the good stuff. It's like the filet mignon. It's the good stuff. Yeah, the Wagyu beef. I don't know. The really super expensive Japanese beef that I don't even know how to say because I literally...

never ordered it because it's like ridiculously stupid yeah it's like when you order pizza from the fancy place you know like everybody has their go-to pizza place right it's like okay we need a quick meal let's just order a slice of pizza from From our favorite pizza place. But then you do have the. Oh you know what. I have a craving for good pizza. Let's go order pizza from the really good place. And then. And you do that maybe like twice a year. Because it's.

so damn expensive but it tastes so good i think that's the difference it's like expedition 33 is like the fancy pizza they only get twice a year because like there's sticker shock there uh and then doom the dark age is like you know it's it's the it's it You know, the pizza. You get it. It's the bag of Doritos that comes with the cheap pizza. Sure, the inexpensive pizza. Although, funny enough, Expedition 33 is, I believe,

Well, I played both on Game Pass. Deeper than Doom. Yeah. You know, so it's very much a Game Pass month. But anyways, Doom the Dark Ages. third game in the sort of Slayer series the rebooted doom series that started with doom 2016 Then we had Doom Eternal in 2020, and now we have Doom the Dark Ages. just released. I had no idea there was that much time. I feel like we got a Doom last year. Like...

I feel like Eternal was not that long ago. And to know that the first Doom was like five years before that. There's five years. Between Doom games? Really? Yeah. You know what happened? Doom Eternal launched in March 2020.

And I think it's in that window where everything just kind of got all swirled. There was like three years that I feel like just got... really swirly yeah and uh the best way to describe it so like you i was like man a new doom already this is crazy but five years is you know That's still fast, considering what development cycles are these days, but I would say that's still... a good chunk of time, you know, between releases. But it doesn't feel that way.

Yeah, so continue. Sorry, the Dark Ages picks up Eternal left off, I'm assuming. Yeah, yeah. Well, no. What happened? I don't know. I didn't play the DLC. Sorry, I was trying to get you back on track. That's okay. I'm going to be like, I've derailed you again. Okay.

So I didn't play the DLC for Eternal, but Doom the Dark Age is effectively a prequel. It's set in... the far past uh although like it's kind of here's the weird thing like in doom from when we were kids was known to be this franchise of like you're a dude you kill demons

And then at the end of the game, you kill a big demon, and then credits roll. Like, that's the story of Doom 1 through probably all the way up to Doom 3. uh and doom 3 still a little bit more of that but like these new series they have these stories and they have like a little more like trying to apply lore to the idea of like why this person is killing demons and it's so good at it.

um doom the dark ages says like okay we're gonna go back in time it is a medieval sci-fi fantasy setting so the reason i say that is it feels very warhammer and that like it is clearly like a time of castles and swords and fur capes but There are guns and electric guns. And laser beams. Yeah. You know, as well as spaceships and flying saucer things.

So there's a lot of sci-fi, there's a lot of fantasy, and it's all jumbled together, and it feels very Warhammer. The fact that the Slayer has a shield this time around, which is a huge...

Sort of the focal point of the combat is you have the shield as the first thing they introduce to you when you're playing the game. And the way it's set up... is the gameplay feels a lot more forgiving than previous titles like doom 2016 had a lot of you know a very run-and-gun feel and eternal kind of ramped that up and made it more difficult and there was more like

you had to know which weapons to use against which enemies, but Doom the Dark Ages kind of throws that all away for the most part and says, hey, you've got this big OP shield. You can bring it up at any time. It blocks everything. It has a cooldown and how much you can block, but it's certainly very forgiving. uh you can throw it at your enemies captain america style uh and it

It has saw blades, of course, within the shield. Of course. So when you throw it, it slices all the demons in half because they're kind of like two... sort of tiers of demons there's a what they call the fodder demon which you can basically kill no problem throw the shield cut in half very they're they're dead And then there are bigger demons that if you throw the shield at them, you eventually unlock an ability to have the shield sort of embed itself in these enemies and stun them.

So that you can like stun lock them, go up and just like unload on them and then, okay, go to the next. So the combat is very... it allows for a lot of experimentation and And it's a little more slower paced. It's still very fast, but you have the ability to not worry about being overwhelmed and dying all the time. It felt a lot more forgiving.

than the previous dooms which i appreciate because i am not a big you know like high reaction you know twitch shooter type player i'm more of a halo type than a call of duty type and this fail this feels very halo-ish in my opinion in how it's set up its gameplay uh It still obviously has a lot of demons and gore and blood and all that, so if that's not your thing, they did not tone that down it's still very much there

I mean, they couldn't tone it down. It's Doom. Like, that's the one thing I know about the franchise. Yeah. Blood, guts, gore, demons, go. Exactly. Although I will say, though, in comparison to Doom and Doom Eternal... The tagline for the first one was rip and tear. So every time you did enough damage to a demon, you literally hit a button and you just like, well, you rip them apart and there's blood everywhere.

i that's not as present in this one because of the combat they try to they they do try to like speed it up as much as possible even though it is a little more lumbering than the previous titles They don't have those glory kills, as I think they called them in the previous titles. You kind of just They do still have the stun, and then you can finish them off, but it really is just a melee hit, and then they're done. There are maybe...

30 enemies in the whole game so far that you would do like a special animation on so those are still in there but like They don't feel as, they're not there all the time. And I think after like 10 hours in both those Doom games, as cool as it was for the first few hours, I did get kind of old, like tearing these demons apart and seeing the same animation over and over again.

um so they kind of addressed that and and removed it by taking it out yeah yeah like they kind of like pushed it to the side and said okay there's still going to be these special demons you have to take out to get

upgrades for your health ammo and armor and and those have the special animations but they're all the same you you know you shove your hand into their heart you pull out the special thing you look at it they look at you it explodes Well, one of you are happy, the other guy, not so much. he's dead um but yeah like i i think that the gameplay is a lot more my style it's it's it's a lot more forgiving You do use the shield quite a bit to not only block but also to parry.

And I know as soon as I say Perry, everyone's like, oh gosh, we're going to talk Perry Windows now. Very forgiving. Not at all like, you know, Dark Souls or even Expedition 33. You were able to... parry uh you know basically all all the demons have abilities and and attacks uh if it's green you parry it if it's red you can block it or dodge it if you want to

and it's such a simple system and there's such a huge wind up for all of it and the parry window is so big that like you can't miss it and it is It's there. There's a green thing coming at your face. You pull up the shield. You've done it. Not at all like Elden Ring or Dark Souls or Expedition 33. You are... you know, royalty of parrying. No problem in this game.

Like I said, the shield is OP. You're going to use it constantly. So even though you're not doing the rip and tear and get right up in it and all the gore and everything else, it's still... fun and engaging combat. Yes, yeah, because I think the shield... Keeps you moving. And I didn't say this, but you can like lock onto targets and there's like no, there's seemingly no limit to how far you can lunge. But if you lock onto a target and push the right trigger.

your character will lunge across the map, hit that enemy, and if it's like, Not even if only it's a fodder demon, but if you hit someone with that lunge, it basically does a splatter attack and will kill all the fodder demons instantly in a small area. So like... It's very satisfying to use. It allows you to get in and out of tight spaces or tight encounters if you find yourself getting overwhelmed.

um you also have a melee ability so you start off with just your fist which you know very doom like where you just punch people and then you do get to get additional weapons in that sort of tier so it's very like It's very melee, you know, which feels very fantasy. You've got like a melee weapon and a shield. You also have your weapons, of course. It wouldn't be Doom without weapons. And...

And yeah, like it's just, it's been a lot of fun. It's got like, it brings back the Metroidvania style stuff. We were constantly finding like secrets and unlockables and like.

sort of extra uh upgrade points and stuff so like i'm constantly checking the map to be like okay like where's where's the next collectible like oh i gotta make sure i go down this path before i go to the next section and and they have icons i've never seen this in other games but we're on the map you have an icon that is like specific to this is an icon it looks like a

like an arrow through a window and it basically is an icon for like when you progress past this point you won't be able to go back you're still in the same chapter but you won't be able to to to explore areas before this point. Which I thought is like, okay, that's perfect for collectible.

hunters like me like i know like if i jump down this path i'm not gonna be able to get back up and there's a different icon for like this is the chapter end if you go through here you are basically moving on with the story you've done everything you want to do

So I thought that was a nice touch. And again, not something that you would assume Doom would need to have. So there's a lot of quality of life stuff in here, too, that they've implemented that just doesn't feel like... what is absolutely necessary, but is certainly a welcome addition because it is a lot of fun finding those collectibles. Making sure you found all the secrets and stuff and it's part of the game, for me at least, when I'm playing it.

but yeah like and there's a story to it it's ridiculous like that's where it kind of feels like halo where it's like The gameplay is king, but we have to have a story, I guess. Because there's gotta be some reason for you to be destroying all of these demons, other than just, they're the bad guys, you're the good guy, go. Well, it's like... It got more and more... sort of weird like doom 2016 was like there's demons invading go do and and then the second one was a little bit more

And then this one's like, okay, we're going to go back and we're going to explain where the Slayer came from and we're going to have all these characters. And they take themselves very seriously.

uh and it's just it reminded me a lot of halo because like again the original halo was like the story was very you know very simple and then it kind of just over time to where they had six games it just got really it got to be a lot with like characters showing up very seriously and you're being like who the heck who's this person and why are they angry at me so there's a lot of that with the story and

it's quick it it does not overstay its welcome uh the cut scenes are are very well done but there are moments where you kind of feel like the slayer and that you're just walking through the environment you're like I don't, it, look, whatever is going on, I feel you, but like, I just need to, I need to go slay some demons. It's, it's what's happening.

uh and so it's in there and for those folks who are like i wish they wouldn't do more stories like they've they've upped that a bit here which but again it doesn't overstay its welcome it's just sort of there And the cutscenes between chapters are very short, very to the point. uh but it is kind of comical when they like doom to me was just like there's demons you got to shoot them and then with the story it's they've kind of applied like it feels very diablo you know like

You've got cybernetic heaven, but then you have, like, what appears to be normal hell, and then you've got the humans that live in between the Sentinels. I was getting a lot of Diablo vibes, and, uh... which was very weird. But it makes sense, you know, heaven, hell, humanity stuck between. Yeah, there's not too, too many ways you can go with that story. Yeah. So they... And I have not finished the game yet, but I assume, like,

It kind of ties into Doom 2016 and Eternal in some fashion. I think there might be some ties between the DLC of Eternal and the Dark Ages. and and tying in because this is a prequel as far as i understand like this is taking place before you know tens of thousands of years before doom 2016 um but i just find it funny that they're like castles and swords and very medieval style but then there are like spaceships and you think oh well maybe it's just

the heaven faction that like have spaceships. It's like, no, everybody. Spaceships for all. Yeah. Spaceships for everyone, you know. But again, I'm very much enjoying it. I find that as I'm playing it, you get in the zone of not only the combat, but finding all the collectibles and exploring every... sort of nook and cranny and uh i'll likely have it finished by the time we we record next week and Awesome. We'll see how it sort of wraps up, but right now I'm...

i'm still very much enjoying it and the steady pace at which you unlock new abilities and new new weapons and they've really spaced it out like i'm like i said chapter 16 of 22 and i'm still unlocking variants and ruins and new weapons and stuff so like they've done a great job at kind of like pacing out the mechanics without feeling as though you're You're missing out.

you know, in the beginning. I was going to say, that is one thing that I do find is kind of hard to balance in games sometimes. Like, when they give you a super cool thing right at the end and you're like okay so now i get to use this for like an hour and then the game is over yeah exactly at the same time you don't want to be too powerful right off the jump because

then you get sick of stuff over the course of the game, right? So it's a very delicate balance, but yeah, it sounds like they're hitting a pretty good stride in Dark Ages. And you said you were playing on Game Pass, right? So this is available.

Over on Game Pass, you don't have to pay for it if you're already paying for Game Pass. Yeah. I'm saying this as like a verbal reminder for myself to not let Matt buy Doom. Yeah, I mean... again like if you if you enjoyed doom 2016 and doom eternal this is very much for you uh i would say if you like the idea of doom 2016 or eternal but we're sort of shying away based on like the complexity of the combat and the difficulty maybe.

and and some of the setting as well like you know the first two are very like futuristic heaven and hell you know shoot them up style but i really think like the combination of the new combat style and dark ages and the fantasy elements And, you know, frankly, like more sort of narrative storytelling, even though it is a bit ridiculous at points. I think it does make for a more approachable doom.

Again, it still has the gore and all that. Well, and it's a prequel too, right? So it's accessible for people who don't necessarily know anything about the franchise, right? you don't have to have played the other stuff because this happens before that. So that's also good to note. So Dark Ages is a good, like, I guess, introduction to modern Doom. It sounds like. I think so. You guys should go and check it out. Again, available on Game Pass and I'm assuming other places as well.

i obviously haven't played it so i don't know yeah it's on uh it's on steam it's on playstation 5 um as well as xbox and and and pc so but if you have game pass or pc game pass You can play it there as well. If you're on your PC anyway, you know what you should go and check out. Patreon.com slash TheGamersIn. Specifically this week because we have made some major Patreon changes.

So we have knocked down the number of tiers that are available for support. So we kept our most popular tiers. We kept our producer tier as well. but we knocked down the price on their producer tier as well. So we've kind of like... streamlined ways to support the show.

Obviously, Gamers Inn, always going to be free, always going to be available in all the places it always has been available. But we are going to start doing... exclusive patron only content so we are going to have monthly host specials we're going to also bring back game night which is one of our most requested things you know we

bring in a lot of community members when we do our extra life events in november but we're going to start doing game nights again we're going to do them monthly we used to do them weekly Ryan and I don't have the time to do it weekly, so we are committing to monthly game nights. The tiers that had priority invites to game nights are now actually going to make sense again. And yeah, we're really looking forward to making you some exclusive content.

We are potentially going to start doing Inside the Game again, as some of our monthly host specials, if you guys aren't aware. Those were deep dives into narrative games that we really, really enjoyed. So we have a lot of including some new ideas. We've got a lot of cool stuff that we've kind of put together for our monthly host specials. So there's going to be a really good reason to actually get involved.

with the Patreon, in addition to, obviously, the game clubs that we've been running for a few years now. Speaking of game club, The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess has wrapped! We have our final finale post available over on the Discord. That is at tiny.cc slash TGI discord. Yeah, we're all done. Twilight princesses. wrapped up and uh

I really enjoyed the penultimate boss in Twilight Princess. So if you guys have been following along, if you want to get caught up, everything is now over on the Discord in the Game Club. And yeah, Ryan. Where's your comments? Let's go. I'm behind. I've fallen behind. I need to finish it. I know. Shame. Look, well, my definite goal for finishing Game Club is before we schedule our final chat.

So I will be there and have the ability to talk to the game and its conclusion because I will have finished it by that point. But I will also jump in to the discussion. So we have to schedule our final voice chat for... twilight princess and uh yeah i'm excited because I remember the ending going places and being a pretty epic finale, so I'm excited to jump in.

It's one of the moments in the game that I'm really excited that we're going to do a voice chat about because there was a lot that was kind of revealed right at the end. There was a bit of a lull in the story as you collected things uh going to the different dungeons in kind of the mid to late game and then they were like okay Story time! Kabam! Right at the end. So, yeah, it definitely ramped up quickly with the story and the explanations and the kind of reveals.

It was an exciting week, that's for sure. But before we move on from talking about Patreon, I did want to make sure that we thanked Shatterproof, who is our May patron. So thank you so much for supporting the Gamers Inn. Again, that is at patreon.com slash thegamersin. And if you haven't supported us over on Patreon before, We have now done a full Patreon revamp, so go and check it out and see if there's something that fits your budget, fits your time, and something you might be interested in.

So thank you again to everyone who is supporting us over there. and uh yeah you now have some actual patreon exclusive content to look forward to so i'm really excited and i can't wait for you guys to hear some of the things that we're working on and uh yeah get your feedback because i i think it's gonna be a lot of fun i think it's gonna be really cool That brings us to the news this week. The title of the Super Mario Bros. movie sequel has accidentally been revealed early. Although, I mean...

It's not surprising. Like, I don't even see why they bothered. So basically, it was released early in a press release. as like in a list with a whole bunch of other video or not video game movies just other movies that were coming to or coming from Universal Pictures. And basically they just said, like, here's a list of everything that's coming down the pipe. And Super Mario World was included in that list. And it's just like they had a teaser.

At the end, like in the credits of Super Mario Brothers, that said, or didn't, I guess, say Yoshi was coming, but showed the egg, made the Yoshi sound like, Super Mario World is not a big spoiler or like a not unexpected like the fact that Nintendo was like No! Take it out! It's just bonkers to me.

Well, I mean, Nintendo, everything's unannounceable, right? Like, and Nintendo loves to make a big fanfare. I know. It's just so ridiculous. It's like, Nintendo, we knew. We knew. Okay? You don't need to redact it. I mean, we feel like we knew, but I was honestly... Look, I think Super Mario World is a fantastic title. I mean, I was... frankly they could have just called it the super mario brothers movie too and that would have also made sense because uh

That's kind of how movies are titled. It's very rare for movies to kind of change the whole... the whole movie title uh but i do like the idea but i have one of my biggest gripes in the history of naming of movies is the fact that Now You See It 2 wasn't called Now You Don't. Like,

It made me so mad that it wasn't, now you see it, or like, now you see me, now you don't. Like, I don't understand why they went with, now you see me too. Like, I just, it was so stupid. It made me so angry. And so the fact that they were like, No, it's not going to be Super Mario Bros. 2. It's going to be Super Mario Bros., then it's going to be Super Mario World, then it's going to be Super Mario Sunshine, maybe? Like, who knows? But we're going to follow our gaming naming.

Yeah. Well, that's just it. Because you have sort of an established franchise. This has been the issue with video game movies. previously is that they don't tap into the to the to your audience which is the people who play the video games and the fact that they are going to like i think the first one the super mario brothers movie like that's a very safe title But Super Mario World is sort of a great bridge over to the video games. That's literally the video game title.

And I don't know what they call the next one, which there will be a next one. And if they do a Donkey Kong spinoff, which has been... sort of rumored it'll be called donkey kong country because of course yeah you know like i i think we are in a new era of adaptations where they are they feel comfortable

sort of tying it to the to the source material i don't know if we had that i mean it's way past our lifetimes but i don't know if they had that issue with books where they're like we got to change the title because it can't be the same as the book uh now it's just it'd be unheard of if if they if they change the title which you know this is a good uh path forward for these adaptations and i i understand why they scrubbed it because nintendo likes to

These companies, not just Nintendo, but all of them like to make these big announcements. And the fact that this movie is coming out next April, there's likely to be teasers and trailers before the end of the year. um this is likely a sign that we are we have our first look coming very soon likely this probably very very soon yeah exactly if if the Press release from a, like, I guess, from the distributor? From the parent company? The ones in charge of the...

Actual, like, release of the movie? I don't actually know what the role is that they play, but anyways, point is...

If we're getting an announcement from them, that means that, like, it's probably coming i would say even in the next couple weeks like they they might have put the release out a little bit earlier or you know whatever like the expectation was that nintendo already would have had the trailer out do you know what i mean like I think we're going to see it very, very, very, very soon because the expectation of the press release was that the title was already out there, is my guess.

Yeah, it was definitely a slip up. Because it's a partner, right? It's their partner in movie making. It's not like this random press outlet or something. I don't know. I can't think of the publisher just as the word that you use. Publisher is the gaming thing, right? They're not a publisher. They're a distributor. Production company. Maybe.

maybe my brain's stuck in video game land and i i right i know it's my fault because a majority a majority of the news was like tv and movies but i we were able to sort of write it back in, but I am excited that I'm excited to see what they do next and hopefully they are able to address. Some of the concerns that folks had with the first one, but...

I like the idea that, oh man, if it is Super Mario World, you get the Koopa kids, you get the Yoshis. I imagine the plot is... something to do with them trying to rescue bowser because he was he was he was trapped or he's he's he's small i can't remember what happened at the end he's he's off the table but you know it's bowser he'll be back

He'll be around. Yeah. And speaking of Nintendo, they aren't the only company that is increasing prices. So we've got some NVIDIA news, we've got some Sony news, basically all around. prices going up. And so this is, you know, a lot of tariff mentions in here. Sony did also mention potentially moving some production to the US, which I mean, I said a couple weeks ago, I don't understand how any company can kind of commit to making anything in the U.S. given all of the uncertainty.

how often the rules and the rates seem to change. I don't know how you make a business decision when everything is changing as quickly as it has been. I don't know. It seemed very... That was the part that surprised me the most out of all of the comments here was that basically they were like, yeah, we might make some PS5 stuff in the States. I'm like, really? That's, that's where you're going with this?

Seems bonkers. Yeah, I mean, that could also be something you say to stakeholders, like, hey, Yeah, we're not closing any doors, yeah. Possibly. Yeah, they're open to all options, I guess, to deal with this. crazy shenanigans but uh yeah i mean the most likely scenario for how to deal with the shenanigans is pass it on to the consumer well i think that's that's honestly a lot of what's happening and we see these price increases and i think these stories

sort of complete the narrative that like you know it's not just one company that's expensive they're all going to be expensive and they're all like because again like there was this sort of expectation on how business would work and how much things would cost by manufacturing like we're a world We are a very small world now. We're very connected. And the fact that you make one thing in five different regions and then put them together at the very end and ship them out to everybody.

Like, if you don't have someone playing ball, suddenly that becomes the whole process is more expensive and takes years to set up that manufacturing. Yeah, exactly. And apparently, Sony is actually expecting over 500 million pounds worth of impact from the US tariff. which is just crazy. So the pound is still worth more than the US dollar, I think, but they're pretty close to being on par. Wow. If I remember correctly. Yeah, it's, man.

It's really unfortunate that, and again, as consumers, we're the ones that are going to have to decide whether we pick up a new piece of hardware or... i or a new game or like because again like i think nintendo When they were addressing the tariff issue, they didn't increase the price of the Switch. What they set the Switch to at is what they kept it at, but they did increase accessory prices to maybe make up for some of that loss.

And I think that's where... as a business person it makes it harder to kind of determine like okay what's the hit where can we increase certain things to you know maybe move some some of the hit around but again like at the end of the day it is It is not the company and it is not the country that is taking the hit. It's the consumer. Yes, 100%. It's very unfortunate, and I feel like when you look at the timeframes for the next generation of consoles from PlayStation and Xbox,

What does that look like? What does three and a half years look like from now? Of course, expensive is one thing, but it's so hard to predict. you know what that will look like and i just these companies that are making these decisions now about a product launching in three years like that's got to be a really Confusing. and frustrating meeting to have like okay how are we how are we working this out now so the news out of nvidia too is basically like those those um

Chips and GPUs and everything go in consoles and computers, so it's not just a PC gaming problem. But they are apparently facing multiple different crises that are going to cost... or I guess just the tariffs alone because of the export restrictions and are going to cost the company $7.6 billion. At the same time, the demand for GPUs because of, like, processing power around AI and stuff, they're... The demand is going up right now, so even though they are going to be way more expensive,

Nvidia is not necessarily getting the money because, again, that's not how tariffs work. So Nvidia is going to take this hit or potentially pass it on to consumers, probably going to pass it on to consumers. But at the same time, the demand is increasing, right? So demand for computers is increasing, demand for consoles, all of this stuff needs these NVIDIA chips.

and uh yeah they're just they're struggling right now for so so many reasons apparently and uh yeah again all of this like all of these business things means everything's just gonna get way more expensive for you and I and if you extrapolate that over years and years especially like if we're looking at you know consoles coming out what like 2027 2028 possibly then yeah like that's that's all still within

Trump's presidency, and so we can probably expect the tariffs to not really be going anywhere anytime soon. Seems to be his favorite word, so... Yeah, it's just going to mean more and more and more and more expensive computers, consoles, everything. Yay. yeah and yeah so i mean we'll see we'll see how things sort of shake out and this is the right now uh and i and i think that if you are

Like if you're thinking of buying something in the next couple, like next year or next year or two, you can kind of look like, especially a video card. Like I would say if you're looking at a video card and you need one, Probably look to bump that up if you can. Again, video cards are expensive on a good day.

but uh if you're waiting you're it's just gonna get more expensive i think that's how because as nvidia describes like they're they're facing multiple issues within this realm whereas i think other companies have like just the straight up import issue i think nvidia is also dealing with a lot of like ai related stuff so yeah well yeah there's there there are some companies as far as they're not companies countries as far as i understand that are

starting to put legislation in around ai and restricting you know what things you can bring in so like it's it's not even necessarily tariff it's like boundaries and borders and restrictions around trade that are either slowing or stopping some of the movement of NVIDIA's goods. So there's all kinds of stuff.

at play here in the kind of like global logistics marketplace that's really screwing NVIDIA over. So again, All of that is going to translate to more expensive stuff for you and I. So be prepared, I guess, for basically everything. in our gaming hobby world to increase to the point that I think a lot of gamers are going to have to be making smart decisions.

you know potentially not cutting corners but like yeah the the budget's gonna be about the same if not smaller and uh the gaming companies want more so you're gonna have to start making some choices some hard choices potentially so Sorry about your hobbies, guys. There's so little joy these days. And it's going to be even worse. But anyways, Randy Pitchford says, If you're a real fan, you'll find the money. Don't worry, guys. Just, you know.

Show your fandom by finding the money and not buying groceries and not paying rent. Because if you pay your rent and you buy your groceries, you're not a real fan.

Like, fuck this guy so hard. I think that And I wanted to include that this is something that popped up today, and I wanted to include it because this is the wrong way to go about defending... $80 games basically saying like and I think like maybe when we were talking about it you and I did come to that conclusion of like yeah like if you If you do really want to play a certain video game at that price point, you are going to make decisions.

to either wait for a sale or, you know, buy that game. Or to not buy other games in order to... Yes, 100%. And that's what I said about hard decisions and stuff. And there's a way... to say that yes without saying this yeah i am not defending randy pitchford here because this is like classic ceo just buy my thing and shut up uh yes this is like if you're a real fan is like not the words

Well, all of this is not the words. If you're a real fan, you'll find a way to make it happen. It's just not the way to get your message across. Like, he just is... so i don't know tone deaf to the world right now or yeah i don't know it basically this this was in response to a fan saying like can borderlands 4 not be 80 like um Gamers aren't going to pay that. You can't constantly increase the prices. You're the CEO. Can you help?

And he said, not my call. If you're a real fan, you'll make it happen. And then went into a story about how he worked minimum wage in the 80s or the 90s or whatever. And, you know, managed to buy the game he really wanted. And I'm just like, oh, my God. Fuck this guy. Fuck this guy. There's just so many, there's so many ways that you can say

I understand that you want to support your favorite franchises and some things you're not necessarily going to be able to play day one. And I know that really, really sucks. And it's a change in habits from what's been going on. over the years. But if you really love Borderlands, hopefully that will be one that you will pick up day one. You know, like, there's just so many ways to say this. I don't even like nicely I don't know like just you know to acknowledge the like

budgetary pain so many of us are feeling right now and not be a dick. This is just the biggest dick thing to say.

yeah this this guy sucks what yeah and it's funny because like the ceo of the parent company take two he had his own CEO comments issues that that we don't have in the news to talk about but in this article he he had stated previously like when the The question of pricing came up and that they would, the company's stance, Take-Two, which is owner of Gearbox, or at least publishing Borderlands 4,

had basically said that their stance on variable game by game pricing so they'll then analyze the game and then determine the price and there is some context to this and that their new mafia game coming out this summer which is billed as a smaller-scale, Mafia title war-focused. is going to cost $50 US at launch. So we don't have Borderlands 4 pricing. And that's the other issue is that you have Randy Pitchford reacting to the $80 question.

when it hasn't been announced what it's going to cost. So it's weird to throw that. like throw basically piss off your fan base when there's no reason for it uh and then there's been no official announcements made about pricing He basically says, like, well, it's not my call, but if it is 80 bucks... yeah you know you're gonna you're gonna spend it because you're a real fan it's like that's just come on very tone yeah it is funny that the borderlands price hasn't even been released yet like

We have no idea if it's an $80 game. Like you said, we have no idea if it's less than. We have no idea if it's more than. There's some people apparently speculating that GTA 6 might be $100 for the base game. We really don't have any idea what anything is costing right now because so many things are in flux. And so if you're going to just say, like, you'll pay $80 and you'll like it or more, like, you know, if you're a real fan, like, it just, it's, you know what it is? It's so gatekeepy.

Like, it's gatekeeping around dollars. It's gatekeeping around franchises. It's like, you have to give us all your money. Otherwise, you're not a real Borderlands fan. Like, fuck you. You do not decide who is a fan of what. There are going to be diehard Borderlands fans right now that cannot pay their bills, and they will not be able to buy Borderlands 4, and that doesn't make them any less of a fan. Period. Full stop. Yeah, 100%. And I... I really feel like Borderlands 4 of all games is

It's going to go on sale. Like, if you're looking at is this game going to go on sale? Yes. I mean, if the replies to this tweet are any like indication there's people are being like thanks I won't even buy the game if it costs $70 like It might go on sale within the first month. If people who are actually going to buy the game are that pissed off at this comment, then they're just going to say, fuck you for the sake of it.

that would be really funny yeah like i just i think that with uh with the higher price of games A lot of gamers, myself included, are going to look at a game and determine, like, okay, is this something I look to purchase day one? How does that affect everything else around it? Do I wait for a sale? Do I, you know... see if a friend's buying it and borrow it from them when they're done like i i think that

when game prices increase which they have done in the past you do start to make those decisions right as to you know can it fit in my budget and if not uh you know wait for a sale and i've done that previously and i'll definitely be doing it with borderlands 4 not that i was looking to pick it up day one uh but yeah i i mean this tweet pretty much states it's going to be 80 bucks at launch like

Why would he do that if it wasn't? I mean, that would be even stupider if it ends up being like a $60 title US and he still... You know, I don't know. It boggles my mind. We have some updated news about Apple and Epic and Epic trying to bring Fortnite back. Originally, it was that Apple had blocked Fortnite. But now Apple has told Bloomberg that it did not actually block Epic from releasing Fortnite in the EU, but they asked that they resubmit the update.

without including the U.S. because they didn't want it to impact other regions. This whole story is just so like ridiculous. These two like... Billion, trillion, gajillion dollar companies No, he did. No, he did. No, that's his fault. It's so high school.

it's very expensive as well like when yeah it's very expensive high school when you really think of like how much it costs for epic to respond to apple and apple and the situation right now is like i think essentially Even with everything going on in the U.S. They have stated to Apple, and this is the other funny thing, it's like, these are both American companies.

So it kind of like results in this like neutral territory of like, oh, like we can't pick one company over another because they're both US. So like we just let them fight it out to the point where I think Apple has been kind of handed this. you know, uh, this judgment that basically says like, yeah, no, you have to do this, but there's still like an appeal that they can do, which is kind of where Apple say is like, we're, we're not doing anything until this is completely done.

And it's not completely done, even though it's been five years. Yeah. But there is this temporary sort of relief to allow people to publish apps and you've probably seen it in your app store if you updated patreon they they did a whole reversal on how they can take payments, at least in the US. So there is that like reprieve where you can do that now. Um, but for some reason it doesn't apply to Epic because Epic had their account banned from the original thing.

It's still a whole mess, and you're so right. It is definitely high school. It is so like nitpicky and like, you know, going against the, I guess like the spirit of the verdict and the like okay well yeah maybe they did this thing but then did you know that in our terms and conditions there's like these two words and so therefore they still can't do the thing like It's just, it is so, he said, she said, back and forth, high school ridiculousness. It just, oh man.

Yeah, so Fortnite is still not back on iOS, but potentially, maybe, might be soon. Who freaking knows? But speaking of Fortnite... Fortnite! Oh yes, I'm curious about this. Oh, my God. Okay, so Fortnite. So as you know, I think we talked about a couple weeks back when the season launched. Oh, right, because lightning hands. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So then Jocelyn knows nothing about Star Wars.

So they added in, so Darth Vader was added in to Fortnite. There's a whole Star Wars themed season. There's all kinds of locations and characters and everything else have all been added into the game. It's quite an extensive season, given that I think it's only four or five weeks long. It's a shortened season, but very thematic. Crazy, lots of Star Wars things. So they added Darth Vader. And then this past weekend, they added Darth Vader.

AI. So he went from being a boss to defeat to get a lightsaber to a boss to defeat to get a lightsaber who you could then hire as like a follower. So you can do that in Fortnite. You can go around to various places on the map and pay currency and then get people to follow you around and basically fight for you. They're usually pretty shit. They're usually not worth it. But in this case, the Darth Vader follower had AI that if you spoke to it in voice chat, he would respond.

Super fun, super innocent, right? For an hour. Of course. And then, of course. Very, very quickly. He began swearing and slurring and just being completely awful and had to be disabled. So, all that being said, SAG-AFTRA is now filing a lawsuit against Epic because basically they're saying that... The use of AI Darth Vader, I guess we've covered this on GamersIn for the past few years, that basically there's been a lot of strikes and stuff around in the industry.

based around um a lot of voice acting contracts and so after all of that negotiation all epic had to do was go and talk to the union and be like hey This is the thing that we're doing. Apparently, James Earl Jones's voice, which was used to, I guess, train the AI, it was actually done, which is something I didn't realize. It was actually done.

with the permission of his estate. So the family actually wrote a statement in support of Epic and said that they had been working with Epic to make it happen. that James Earl Jones felt that the voice of Darth Vader was inseparable from the story of Star Wars, and he always wanted fans of all ages to continue to experience it. Again, sounded very fun, sounded very nice, like good intentions, terrible, terrible execution.

So basically SAG-AFTRA is saying that because they didn't follow the contract with the union, they denied the work of other performers. who have basically put in a lot of work to replicate Darth Vader's voice. in previous iterations of other video games. So even though James Earl Jones' voice hasn't necessarily been used in other iterations of Darth Vader, there are a lot of performers who put a lot of work into basically emulating him.

and bringing Darth Vader to the medium already. And so using AI instead is denying them work. So they are suing Epic for that. Could you imagine if you were that voice actor and you have to listen in on all those Fortnite conversations to react to that? Oh my god. No thanks. Well, I'm sure that that's not how they would actually do it. No, of course not. But... I'm like, really?

I know that. I'm just saying it seems like a pretty good use for AI to not have to listen to all those Fortnite conversations, you know? Well, I mean, like, there is no reason there should be AI in video game chats, in any video game chats, in tech. text chats and voice chats and like, again, it seemed like maybe potentially fun. Like I did see a lot of videos popping up on my TikTok where it was like,

You know, just people getting him to, like, call them funny names, like Pookie or, like, Sweetheart, which is hilarious coming out of Darth Vader. Like, I mean, there are... There are some fun potential use cases here, but it took the internet all of an hour to break it, and this is why we can't have nice things, so...

Stop being racist, people. Jesus fucking Christ, it's 2025. Yeah, oh, 100%. And I think that's the thing about the internet, is that for the vast majority of folks that just... interacted with it in a cool and fun manner um you're right it does not take the internet long to to break and ruin things this is why we can't have nice things even if this isn't like you know a super nice thing because uh yeah like this could have this could have been a voice actor

Yeah, exactly. And taking away work from actual real people. Taking away artistic work from actual real people. It sucks. Yeah, I remember it was a big deal. I can't remember the actual game. It might have been The Force Unleashed, but they made a big deal of

of who they had hired as a voice actor to replace uh james real jones he was still living at the time uh but he wasn't doing video games it was And it's also similar, you see that a lot with Toy Story specifically, like Tom Hanks does the Pixar films, but his brother... i can't remember his name but uh it might be uh tom or john hanks or something i can't remember but his brother does all the voice work for video games and and like the tv specials and stuff that as the voice of woody so like

There is context there for the major motion pictures being voiced by the actor, and then when you get into the video games and TV shows, it is a different... I guess what you would call a sound-alike. I don't know if that's dismissive, but it's essentially what it is, right? It's a sound-alike. well it was the same with like um the the sea of thieves content that they did with like uh jack sparrow like wasn't actually johnny depp but i couldn't tell it apart and same with like uh i think

Oh, who else was there? There was the, like, Gibbs, the Gibbs character. Yes. The, like, drunken best friend. Yeah, like, sounded exactly like the actors, so...

I mean, it's very much like the, I guess, precedent? The way that we've always done it is, like you say, with finding voice actors who take the time to... hone their craft and replicate iconic voices to the point that you can't even tell the difference between the original and the replica and then you know you get AI coming in and first of all being abused and second of all taking that work away and I mean like I feel like we've been talking about AI for

you know 18 months to two years now in like artistic pursuits and i i just don't understand like i feel like we're doing it all wrong i don't want my ai to be making my video games to be making my art to be creative That's the shit I want to do. I want AI to, like, plan my grocery list and, like, do math. I don't know. Like, the stupid, boring background shit.

that I don't want to spend my time doing. That's what I want AI to do. I want to do the fun, creative pursuits. And I think that humanity should want to do the fun, creative, leisure pursuits and not... Have that. be what ai is for like i just think we're doing it wrong guys we gotta back it up we gotta reassign our resources because we're doing it wrong well i think the struggle is like they're trying to apply AI, they're really trying to apply it to the creative elements of things.

where the human touch is what is required that makes it special like voice acting you know acting in general mocap like all the human elements that build a video game or the content in general And I think when you try to remove that humanity, I think a lot of it falls flat. Yeah, it falls flat. And I think that's the struggle that these companies are having, is that they're trying to apply it to the creative element.

And then it's still failing, but they keep doubling down. They keep trying. And look, I think you're right. Like AI has a place in... in probably everything we're going to do going forward. But it should really just have a spot. If we're looking to apply it to Fortnite, maybe build AI that helps you choose your next quest because there are so many of them.

as just like there you go like yeah tell me who i should go talk to or you know tell me oh we see you're in this area like do a clippy thing have a pop up and and say like hey you're near that's it i don't want ai to ever have evolved beyond clippy Yeah. That's the key here. Yes. I see you're doing this thing. Would you like me to help? You know what? No. I don't need your help right now, Clippy. Which was basically always, but...

you know, they're there if you need it. They can do background tasks. They can do like running big numbers and like all of, again, the stuff that I don't want to do. That's what AI should be for, not creative pursuits, not leisure. That should be a people thing, in my opinion. When the robots take over, they're coming for me first. Yeah. Yeah. Let it be known that Jocelyn tried to make them do grocery lists. We remember episode 647.

We have heard all episodes. We are all episodes. That is the scary part. Yeah. They are us. We are them. Where's the line? Oh, my brain hurts. Helldivers 2! They finally did an update. I shouldn't say finally because I don't play Helldivers 2, so I don't actually know if it is finally, but they have brought the invasion to Super Earth. I'm assuming you know what that means. Yeah, well, it's the super version of Earth. Okay. Super Earth is their home planet for Helldivers 2.

the Heart of Democracy update finally brings the fight to Super Earth. I don't know if Super Earth was like a map previously, but this update... sort of revolves around the attack coming to Super Earth and having to defend it.

uh obviously they have a trailer that is very tongue-in-cheek and in the tone of of hail divers 2 previously um and this is uh you know playing off the the idea that you know they i think they they talk about casualties as lost votes you know because oh my god i know yes uh again like the

The sarcastic satire that they have in these trailers of like... what they're going for with you know managed democracy and you know super earth and it's a lot but like it's uh you know it's it's right there with the rest of helldivers too and the fact that they're sort of bringing the fight home what i assume is a new map but i just thought like it was a fun it would be a fun way to end the show on this like

this update to a game that does not take itself seriously but has a lot of fun doing it and i i love their trailers they have a they have a lot of fun building them out and they're totally worth watching so uh yeah this this update is out i believe right now so you can check it out so are you gonna be jumping back in because i know uh yeah there's you had like a group you were playing with didn't you

I did. Yeah, I did. I might jump back in. I didn't jump in for the... There was a big update that came out around the Game Awards in December. So I didn't jump in for that one. That added a new faction, which was the Illuminate, which were more like, they were sort of like alien zombies. They would like take over. other humans and factions and have them fight on their side.

never played that so this seems like a good time to jump in this is sort of another major update building upon what they launched in december But yeah, I remember having a lot of fun with Helldivers 2 and I have yet to check out this new faction so it might be time to jump in. Well, I look forward to the update then once you're done Doom and Expedition 33. Yep. And blueprints. Put it on the list. There's another one. Yeah, put it on the list. There you go.
