Intro / Opening

This is the Future Ready. A show about transforming your financial advisory practice. I'm your host, Sam Severajan, a wealth management consultant, behavioral scientist, and keynote speaker. In this podcast, I dive deep into the real challenges advisors face and bring you insightful conversations with top industry experts. Together, we'll explore practical strategies grounded in behavioral science to help you better serve your clients, optimize your time, and build a future ready practice.

I discovered the power of what I will describe as a target market. Oftentimes people use the word niche, but I discovered it back in 2014. When I started studying a gentleman named Michael Port, and he wrote a book called Book Yourself. And so I became a student of his. And I think the key lesson that really stuck with me at that point was the idea of having a target. So just to recap what you said, it's the idea of creating a market and being a bigger fish in a smaller pond.

I come from a background where I worked with a very local market, which was geographically determined. When I made the switch to working with people online, I realized that online is huge. And so the question becomes, how do you stand out? How do you compete?
