LDR, SDR, HDR. Today we start a two-part episode on high dynamic range. First, we need to make sure we all understand what the heck we are discussing! So here is a primer, a bit technical, hopefully useful.

LDR: That horribleness you see in photos where the whole image is close to a single brightness or luminosity level. SDR: What your TV displays - unless you have a modern, probably expensive one. HDR: High Dynamic Range! But what does it actually mean?

We talk about some standards and also add colour into the mix.
