The United States celebrates Memorial Day the final Monday in May. First known as Decoration Day in 1868, people would place flags, flowers, and other sentimental items on the grave markers of fallen Civil War soldiers. The celebration has evolved over the years, and Memorial Day officially became a federal holiday in 1971. Actor Gary Sinise joins the Rundown to discuss the National Memorial Day concert and the Gary Sinise Foundation.
