Episode description

When we think of energy, we often think of the physical aspects of energy such as sleep, nutrition, and exercise. These are fantastic ways to be more energized. But there are not enough!

  • Our thoughts have a HUGE impact on our energy levels. If we are constantly beaten down by negative thought patterns and ideas, this will affect how we show up every day.
  • By changing how we perceive the world around us, and our beliefs, we will directly influence our energy levels.
  • Simple hack to have more energy in one second: think a happy and grateful thought. You don’t even need to move from where you are.
  • The second way to have more energy is to work on our emotions. Directly correlated with our thoughts, emotions have a tremendous impact on our energy. Learning to master emotional intelligence, and management is amazing!
  • External people, places, work all impact our energy too. Being mindful of how we spend our attention, and what we choose to let into our attentional space makes a big difference too.

Energy comes from a combination of physical factors (NEST: Nutrition, Exercise, Sleep, Time Out (Meditation)), mental & psychological factors (thoughts and emotions), external factors (people, places, work, music, books, etc.). To take your energy to the next level, do an audit of your energy, and start to actively manage these different factors!
