Hello, and welcome to the flourishing introvert talks with me, Jo Rawbone. This is the podcast that celebrates the natural gifts of introverts so that we can flourish in all situations. Taking my own medicine. Firstly, thank you for listening in week after week and sharing your thoughts and feedback with me. I really do appreciate hearing from you. 2 speaker-
I know because enough people have commented now that some people are a little curious about what goes on and how I manage to be visible on so many platforms. So I thought it high time that I take you on a little journey behind the flourishing scenes. As you come backstage with me, you'll catch glimpses of my brilliant team, those talented individuals who help me to do what I do best because I trust them to do what they do best. They enable me to work more on the business and less in the business. Having built and run flourishing introverts thus far on my own, expanding my comfort zone and working at my learning edge in order to delegate was necessary for the reach and impact I intend to have. 3 speaker-
This is not for the faint hearted though because whilst change is constant, personal growth and flourishing is a choice, so being quietly gutsy serves me well. Not only do I release weekly podcast episodes, thank you again for listening, but I'm live every other week for around 30 minutes on my YouTube channel, Flourishing Introverts Media. There I deliver a show called, dropping pebbles in the pond. This tends to be a deeper dive into a podcast topic, with the opportunity to join a private zoom call afterwards, and chat through any questions you may have, but more importantly, to connect in a more meaningful way. After all, we know how much we dislike shallow small talk. 4 speaker-
If you subscribe to the show, you'll get notified before I go live, which means you won't miss any of the gems I share. I explained the reason behind the name in the first episode, so please check-in with that for the full explanation, but to cut a long story short, I'm all about making ripples that have far reaching, often unseen impact. For me, it's not about making tidal waves that cause destruction, there's already enough of that in the world. Having said that, the live is simultaneously shown on LinkedIn, Facebook, and a few other platforms, so I kind of am making a bit of a splash with my pebbles. Just goes to show how far we can stretch our comfort zones when we have a clear purpose and the right support. 5 speaker-
You see the show is produced backstage by members of my team who support me in so many ways, and enable me to be everywhere at once. I certainly couldn't and wouldn't want to do it on my own. Then, in the alternate weeks, I publish a LinkedIn newsletter called the Flourishing Nudge, so called because we all need nudges to get out of our own way and take relevant action. This is where I tend to share my thought leadership pieces, to exercise my voice and flex my muscles in readiness to do the cage rattling so needed in organisations. Is this when I should tell you that I'm now a LinkedIn top voice in 3 different categories? 6 speaker-
And that's no mean feat given their new criteria. How about that for self promotion without the ick? Come and check out my LinkedIn profile, subscribe to my newsletter, and while you're there drop me a comment and let me know what issues you'd like me to cover. I'm aware of many of the issues facing we introverts, as I still spend much of my week training, coaching, and facilitating in organizational settings. This enables me to keep my finger on the pulse, and highlight the cages that we introverts find ourselves confined within. 7 speaker-
This means that the bars of those cages are being systematically weakened, so I know I'm making a difference. If you want me to come and rattle the cages in your organisation or community, just drop me a message to quietly at flourishing introverts.com, and one of my team will get the ball rolling. So I think you'll agree that there's quite a lot going on, and that's because I'm committed to shifting this bias that makes so many of our lives more difficult than they need to be. But there's more. Once every 2 months, I host Flourishing Voices, a LinkedIn live audio event. 8 speaker-
As the name implies, I invite 2 or 3 impressive, informative, and flourishing introverts to be my guests, and we chat for about 60 minutes around a topic that has usually been suggested by the audience through one of the channels. Being LinkedIn audio, there's no cameras, hooray, but no recording either, boo. And of course, that's not necessarily a bad thing because it means we, as panellists, and you, our audience, are fully present, knowing this is our only chance to learn and derive as much value as we can. Now you can see why I need a team who trust me, who see my vision as clearly as I do, and who are committed to the cause. With their help, I'm able to be present, to be seen and heard and reachable on all of the introvert friendly platforms, and that's something many introverts think is impossible. 9 speaker-
It's really not though. We are capable of so much more than we and society often believes. Having my own team is invaluable to me, as it enables me to get out of my own way, and allow my mission to reach far and wide into all four corners of the earth. This means introverts and their allies who hear the call are invited to flourish and empowered to rattle cages too. To this end, I'm also delighted to be the co founder of Intent to Flourish with my fellow rebel, Sebastian Arne. 10 speaker-
We're both introverts recovering from pretending to be extroverts, both clear on the importance of being intentional in all that we do, and we're friends to boot. Together we're launching our live show in June 2024 and it's quite different from my dropping pebbles in the pond. You'll have to tune in to find out just how different though. By intentionally choosing to use as many mediums and channels as possible, I know that I'm offering an inclusive and expansive experience to my audience, those professionals who are typically mid career, but frustrated. Whether they're watching on their commute, reading in a break, or listening whilst prepping their meal, there is a format to suit them and their circumstances. 11 speaker-
Now, I imagine you're wondering how you're going to find all of these, so I've made sure that the different links to all of the shows and activities are in the description of this special behind the scenes episode. So when I'm encouraging you to expand your comfort zone, nudging you to try different things in order to be more credible as a leader, and helping you to play to your strengths. Know too that I am doing the same. I'm taking my own medicine, intentionally initiating change and on a parallel journey, and what a ride. Here's to our flourishing. 12 speaker-
If you enjoyed this episode as much as I did, then please subscribe, rate us, and leave a comment because we know that that helps other people find the podcast. And if other people find us, other introverts can flourish. You are listening to an intentional media production podcast.
