How to make film cult classics with Peter Phok, producer and exec of The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers and “X”

Today on the show, we welcome the one and only Peter Phok, the legendary horror film producer of films and TV shows like The House of the Devil (2009), The Innkeepers (2011), V/H/S (2012), Deadwax (2018), A24’s X (2022), and many, many more. He came to talk with our hosts, Giles Alderson and Phil Hawkins, all about his long and amazing filmmaking career: How he started out in film school, how he met Ti West, the director of X, and many of the other collaborators with whom he works to this day. He also discusses the difference between an executive producer and a producer as well as the difference between producing on a low and high budget. He obviously talks all about X and working with A24, how film festivals helped his career, his approach to producing, how to get named cast and shares some amazing stories about how his films got made.
