This is set to have profound impacts on the future of Canada. Canada will find itself in the middle of new and extremely powerful global trade routes. More consequentially, Canada’s enemies are rapidly building up Arctic defence and military capabilities creating an Arctic arms race with the power to turn Canada’s backyard into an arena of war.
