Civil Rights
Episode description
In this episode we spoke about one of the more relevant topics of the current time and climate, Civil Rights. We were happy to be joined by two guest speakers from the EYEJ Speaks Facebook live event, Emily Martin and Maranda Priah. Emily is a Communications and Outreach Specialist for the Fair Housing Center for Rights and Research in addition to being a YODJ Speaker with EYEJ. Maranda is a double major in Sociology and Psychology at Case Western Reserve University as well as a Youth Speaker with EYEJ.
We learned more about each guest and their reply to a statement made by one of the viewers from the EYEJ Speaks Facebook live event regarding uncomfortable conversations with people who are not like minded. Both guests gave great insights from their individual perspectives and experience. We are extremely appreciative of their time and the work that they are doing for the community. If there weren't people like Emily and Maranda who are willing to take a moment to take a chance in making a difference, this world would be in a much worse condition.
