Episode description

On this episode of the EYEJ Speaks Podcast, we spoke about Achieving a Positive Mindset. This topic hit as close to home as possible as my personal endeavours encompass positivity and that all important, positive mindset. Starting the day with a positive state of mind and setting yourself to keep that positive state of mind throughout the day, makes an incredible difference!

We had the pleasure of speaking to three of the guests from the EYEJ Speaks Facebook Live event that aired on July 2, 2020 on Facebook Live as well as Zoom. The conversation on Facebook was just as intriguing as the conversation we had on the podcast. The guests that were able to join us included Jackie Stavros, Brady Lorek and Katie Ross. Jackie Stavros is an author and professor at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan. She has written several books including "Conversations Worth Having" which she speaks about on the podcast. Brady Lorek is an educator at the Cleveland International School in Cleveland, Ohio. Brady works with the youth and provides great insight and ideas on cultivating spaces of trust and mutual respect. Katie Ross has been a guest on previous podcasts and always provides a wealth of information and tips from her experience as Program Director of EYEJ and working directly with the youth of YODJ on a regular basis.

This is one of the longer episodes to date but it is also one that brings so much positivity and ways to achieve a positive mindset that not one minute should be missed! We speak about Appreciative Inquiry (AI), masking issues, negative mindsets & health issues, negative labels, respond vs. react, taking the little wins & making them into big wins as well as positive wording. There's so much to learn from this episode it almost demands to be saved and replayed on those occasions when you or someone else needs ideas on how to raise the positivity level and keep the positivity flowing.

As always, thanks for tuning in and we'll catch you next time!
