In this first episode of the ‘Coaching Through the Sectors’ series our host, Anna Springett, Deputy Director for Coaching Practice at EMCC UK and chartered psychologist, talks to John Draper about Coaching in Education. John has been in teaching for over thirty years, working both abroad, and in his native Essex, in Bournemouth, and for the last eighteen years, as a headteacher in Southampton. He is vice chair of the Aspire Community Trust (a family of nine schools at the heart of the city) and has been coaching for over fifteen years.

During the discussion Anna and John explore what is unique and different about coaching in the education sector. They look at who it is that typically seeks out or is offered coaching and ask what we should consider when it comes to coaching teachers or head teachers
