Have you ever felt like you are trapped in a really obnoxious group text that went completely off the rails , like you didn't ask to be in it and you don't even know half the people that are in it ? Be in it and you don't even know half the people that are in it .

Yet your phone is blowing up with arguments about politics and gender and race and who's to blame and why . You have to pick a side or you're going to be canceled . Yeah well , that's basically what modern America is all about . And while we're at it , can we just go ahead and acknowledge the

not so little elephant in the room ? We are being manipulated like so bad and so on , purpose and so consistently by both sides of the argument , that's whether it's the political aisle or the social construct aisle . It is every major media outlet that knows , without a doubt , that outrage equals ratings and fear equals control .

It's probably like the oldest trick in the book divide and conquer and spoiler alert it's working like really , really well , but it doesn't have to . Let's break it down with how this game is being played against us , the left-leaning media . They'll have you believe that if you question a biological

male in your daughter's locker room , you are a hate-filled bigot , right . You're harming trans kids . You dangerous . And the right-wing media will show clip after clip of liberal insanity and , trust me , there's no shortage of it but they will wrap it up in a headline so alarming that you're going to think that Armageddon has already hit my loves .

We are not being informed , we're being influenced . Let's talk about politics , okay , are you ready ? When the Democrats lost in 2016 , all we heard about was Russian interference right . And when the Republicans lost , it became all about stolen elections , right .

Whatever side or part that you might agree with , even just a little bit , there is one common thread in that , and that is there is a pattern to it all . Both sides preach democracy when they win , but when they lose , suddenly the system is rigged .

And I'm not saying that there's no truth to that , but regardless , we're the ones who are left with , like election fatigue and this absolute mistrust of our governing bodies . Why does it work and why does it keep happening . Well , because we let it .

We just eat up those headlines , we repost the memes , we unfriend people we grew up with because they voted differently . But hang on a second . Okay , let me read this to you from Matthew 24 , 10 through 12 . Many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another , and because lawlessness will be increased , the love of many will grow cold .

Does it sound familiar ? The division is spiritual and it's strategic . And oh and , by the way , satan loves it . He is dancing in the streets when the churches are split over masks and families and they stop speaking over Facebook posts . But here is the good news we don't have to play along . Let's get practical . Okay , here's what we can do .

Turn off the rage machine , and I mean this so seriously . Take a break . So seriously take a break . Stop letting cable news or Twitter I'm sorry , x shape your entire worldview . If you read Proverbs 18 , 13 , it says To answer before listening . That is folly and shame .

So let's do more listening and less reacting and yes , I am preaching to myself here , like 100% to myself and if it benefits you , even better . Number two have real conversations , not tweet threads and not yelling across the comments section . Real , respectful human conversations , ask questions , be curious and speak truth in love .

And yes , of course that's biblical 1 Peter 3.15 . Just look it up Next . And so super , super , super important teach your kids to think biblically . The schools won't do it , so we have to . We need to teach them to spot manipulation and teach them to ask what does God's word say about this ? In Proverbs 22.6, .

Train up a child in the way he should go right . Yes , number four , be a bridge , not a barrier . You can be bold and kind at the same time . Remember and it's my favorite Jesus flipped tables , but he also washed the feet of others , so we have to remember both .

Okay , so here's the takeaway the powers that be want us divided , distracted and disillusioned , but we serve a kingdom that isn't shaken

. We're called to be peacemakers , not pawns , and Jesus said in John 13 , 35 , by this , all people will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another . So , as hard as it is , let's rise above the outrage . Let's speak boldly , love fiercely and never back down from the truth .
