Eagles Mini camp is underway. Hi everyone, Alex Smith here with your three sixty update, presented by Sports Authority. The Eagles were back out on the practice field this afternoon for their first day of a three day mini camp here at the Novacare Complex. Today was Eagles head coach Chip Kelly kicking things off with his pre practice press conference, and Kelly was asked early and often about the state
of the Eagles offensive line. Of course, with the release of Pro Bowl guard Evan Mathis, and according to Kelly, it's still a group that he is very confident in. Well, I think Alan Barbar's an outstanding football part. He just got hurt at the beginning of the year last year. Whenever he's had to play for us, he's played extremely well for us, and I know we're excited about moving forward with him, and then we'll see what happens at
the other position. While there are a number of questions about the Eagles offensive line, questions still remain about the Eagles starting quarterback position. Sam Bradford was out throwing seven on seven today, but he's not quite ready for eleven on eleven action just yet. But according to Bradford, he's feeling stronger, he's trusting his knee and he's hopeful that
he'll be a full go come training camp. Yeah. I think you guys have probably seen, you know, the progress, you know, just from the time that you've been out here. But I just feel more comfortable dropping back. I feel like, you know, when I first got out here, you know, I was about a half count slow, you know. And I feel like I've kind of worked myself back into you know, as close to its game speed as I
can get it right now, you know. But I think overall, I just feel more comfortable with my I trusted more, you know, it's not a sore, it feels better. Overall, I just feel better. While Bradford has been on the end, it's been Mark Sanchez taking most of the reps with the Eagles first team offense, and today's Sanchez spoke about being ready if and when he's called upon. I know I can do it, and I'm I feel like I'm
showing it on the field now. And you know, coach, if it's a competition, the best player is going to play. So that's that's how you gotta be. And uh, and I'm not worried about just like Sam's not worried about what I do, or what Sam does, or what Matt and Tim and GJ and all those guys do. You just got to play against the defense, move your team down, the focus on you, focus on your fundamentals. Switching to
the defensive side of the ball. It was linebacker Connor Barrow and talking about the Eagles finishing Mini camp strong, going home and getting some rest and then coming back ready to attack when training camp begins, Well, you just try to build on the OTAs I thought, we had ten ten really good otash and then these are these
are really not that much different. But you just try to finish strong, go into camp as a unit feeling feeling confident, and go into the next five weeks off healthy and ready to ready to really get in shape, come back ready to go. And a couple of injury updates here from the Novocare Complex. It was a pair of defensive backs Earl Wolf and Randall Evans who were
limited today in practice. They worked off to the side during team drills, but a good sign for the Eagles was that linebacker Marcus Smith was back out on the field. For continuing coverage of Eagles Mini camp, be sure to keep it right here on Philadelphia Eagles dot com
