Oh what a night in South Philadelphia to celebrate Eagles fans. Behind three turnovers from the Eagles defense, touch down in the third quarter by DeMarco Murray. On a night when the Eagles induct a linebacker Maxi Vaughn and running back Brian Westbrook into the Hall of Fame, the Eagles stopped the New York Giants twenty seven to seven. And ladies and gentlemen, guess whose first place in the NC East? Your Philadelphia Eagles. Welcome to the postgame show Presentabo Rico

here on Philadelphi Eagles dot Com. I'm Chris McPherson alongside former Eagles linebacker Ike Reese. Look, it wasn't the prettiest at times, but it doesn't matter because the Eagles took care of business with a dominant defensive performance, getting after Eli Manning throughout the course of the game, and to come out with a much needed win. Yeah, no doubt about it, Chris. I mean the black hurts tonight. They

just dominated this game. They took it from the New York Giants, much like last year's game in the Blackout series where they shut the Giants out. Ironically, it was twenty seven to nothing last year. This year's score. Okay, the Giants haven't proved a little bit. They got a touchdown this year versus the Eagles, But the bottom line is the Eagles have found the way in this series to basically dominate the last couple of years, and the Giants at times did not even look like they deserved

to be on the same field with the Eagles. I thought it was a tremendous performance from the defensive side of the football. Certainly, the offense have areas that they need to improve improve upon, most importantly ball security. But I thought they ran the ball well tonight. DeMarco Murray with his first one hundred yard rushing effort of the

season in Midnight Green excuse me for black tonight. Black Tonight tremant Midnight greening as an Eagle, his first one hundred yard rushing game, so that's certainly a positive side. Sam Bradford did some nice things, But more importantly, I thought the defense set the tone at night. Oh, no

question whatsoever. Look, the Giants took the opening drive, marched down the field, and Eli Manning, who had been playing so well in the beginning of the seasons, came into this game with ten touchdowns to just two interceptions hits Odell Beckham, who was matchup against Demiko Ryans looked like there was supposed to be some safety help. It didn't

come in time. Nonetheless, the Giants may look too easy on that first drive, and then after the quick three out by the Eagles offense, it looked like, hey, the Giants offense was going to go right down the field again, Eli Manning. He goes to tenan Larry Dennell, and who is there to atone for the mistake before it's Damiko Ryan stripping the ball getting the interception, and that really

seemed to change the momentum of the entire game. The Eagles defense from there was able to clamp down on this Giants offense, forcing the turnovers and then more importantly, the run defense. The first drive, it seemed like the Giants, which really hadn't had a run offense up to this point of the season, was able to get some things

going on the ground. The Eagles took that away, made the Giants one dimensional, forced Eli Manning to beat them, and quite honestly, even though Beckham did have the touchdown, he wasn't targeted heavily in the second half of the game. Hamstring had to have been an issue there. Quite honestly, it didn't seem like that. They really didn't have the

explosive elements there to really test this Eagles defense. The Eagles realize it, made the adjustments and we were able to come after Eli Manning and then guys like Benny Curry as you see there, Connor Barwin and Brandon Graham took over the game. Yeah, when you mentioned it earlier, Chris, that interception by Damiko Ryans was huge. The Giants had all the momentum in the game. It seemed like they

certainly had the Eagles on their heels. Their second drive, they're driving down the field, looks like it's going to be at least ten nothing Giants, quite possibly fourteen nothing Giants, and Damiko Ryans basically steals the ball from Larry Dnille. He sold the ball from Larry Denille for an interception. Just a fantastic play by Damiko Ryan's the momentum changer for the defense, and I believe it re energized the whole crowd because prior to that play we were all

sitting back like what is going on to night? I think that play gave everyone confidence. The defense picked up from that play on and they really they smothered Eli Manning and the Giants the rest of the night. All right, so we're gonna get you your phone calls a little bit. The phone number is two and five three, two zero five, one and seven zero. We're also gonna hear from head coach Chip Kelly and quarterback Sam Bradford after this quick

commercial break here on the postgame show presented by Rico. Hi, my name is Jim Taylor. I've been with back Me for thirty four years. Our lengths to brand beef is the best around. Now, welcome back to the postgame show presented by Rico here on Philadelphia Eagles dot com. We're gonna hear from head coach Chip Kelly quarterback Sam bred In just a little bit. Let's

talk about the offense here for a second. We already mentioned the performance for the running game, able to get to Marco Murray going finally, but quarterback Sam Bradford some ups and downs, had some big players down the field. Riley Cooper had the nice touchdown and get the Eagles on the board. But three interceptions on the day certainly a performance that I think Bradford's gonna say he's gonna

want up some throwers back. Yeah, I mean, listen, when the quarterbacks are on in this offense, they could put up some of the best numbers in the National Football League, But you have to be judicious with where you're putting the ball in. You just can't be careless laying the ball out there. And I know Bradford, he's a perfectionist, and he'll look at tonight's performance and say, forget about all those other numbers. It's the three mistakes that I want to focus in on, and he would like to

have those throws back. I mean, you look at the throw right here. That's a great throw to Riley Cooper. Safety misplayed the ball. Nice play here to Jos Shelf could have very easily been a touchdown at all Barbara not been in a way there. So I definitely like a lot of the things that Sam Bradford did tonight, but he just has to erase the little mistakes that that can sort of cost you when you're planning against

better opponents. What do you think it is that the Eels are unable to get things going on the offense early in games? They got the touchdown from Roddy Cooper that we saw that was our first first quarter touchdown of the entire season. The opening drive. The second play looked like Darren Sproles was open on the wheel route, but there was a miscommunication there. We tall it a couple of times throughout the course of the game where

it might have been an option to route. Bradford thought one way, the receiver thinks the other way, and all of a sudden, you have a missed opportunity on the field. I think what we're seeing is new faces and a new offensive system and Sam trying to work the kinks out while trying to become more familiar with the offense

and knowing where everybody is going to be. Now. I've been impressed with the way he's been able to operate the offense at times, but it's these little mental lapses that you have periodically throughout the course of the game that sort of slows down the offense, stalls drives, or when they have a good drive going sort of kills drives at the end with a bad throw there. And I mean, this is a quarterback that's been in the league for a while, so I won't give him the

excuse up it's his first year in this offense. We've seen quarterbacks first year in this offense that have done well. Sam has to be more careful with the football when there's not a play there to be made. It's okay to take a sack or throw it away for an incomplete pass. Can't throw balls in the wrong area, and I think one of them I can't even blame on him. That had to be some sort of mix up between he and Raley. Cooper deep the same play that they

hit on earlier for the big game. However, for whatever reason, whether it was where maybe Cooper saw the defensive backs and the alignment and said I'm gonna stop here. Yeah, maybe Bradford thought he certainly expected him, expecting him to keep going, and that's where the quarterback and wide receiver had to be on the same page as far as what they are seeing from the defense. Riley thought that was help over the top. So he's gonna cut the route short. Sam is saying it's the same route we

ran earlier, and it was two guys there. I'm gonna put it out there. You go up and make a play. And again that's something that quarterback receiver worked through. It's a lot easier to work through those mistakes when you have a w as a result in the game. It becomes a lot more painful when those type of mistakes cost you the ball game. Fortunately for the Eagles to night that wasn't the case. It's something that can be

corrected as we move forward. You make a great point about the sack because there's the one in the second quarter where it's third down, Bradford trying to move the ball their in Giants territory. They have the field goal pretty much set up at that point. However, he takes a sack to make the job for calp Sturgis. Credit Sturgis for making the kick a little bit tougher. That's a mistake that Look, Sturgis makes a kick, you forget about it. They get the points, they go ahead seventeen

to seven all as well. But if he misses that field goal, then all of a sudden you're thinking, I can't take a sack. Yeah, and that's I think that's gonna come with Sam just playing more. You know, even though he's in his sixth year, he's missed a lot of football time out on the field. So you're talking about endgame situations that would be second nature twin Obviously, knowing you're going into that play, you're in great field

goal position. You say to yourself, you can't take a crucial sack here and fall out of field goal range. I think it's something that that's correctable. If they were things that you're saying to yourself, I don't know how we're gonna fix this. This is just something that can't be fixed. I would be a little concerned, but a lot of this would have to be chalked up to being back out there on the field and being in games. Here's the other thing that Sam is not accustomed to

playing in a lot of tight ball games. That we're wins, yea luckily luckless one. All right, we're gonna sit out, so get your field for head coach Chip Kelly. Defensive, yeah, I thought they were outstanding, you know, especially after that first drive where they just went right down the fielding with avy yards and you know, it's seven nothing, you know, right off the bat, kind of neutralize the crowd, kind of hushed everybody up, and then I think they only

had one hundred and sixty yards after that. I think our defense, you know, the rush um, the ability to get to elag which is difficult. You know, going into this, they'd only given up short amount of sacks and they only turned the ball over, you know, not very much either, So for us to come up with. You know, Nolan's

kit pick was big. Um. I thought the play by Demiko Ryant on the interception really kind of stemmed the tie because they were moving the ball again on that drive and then uh, you know, Demiko made a nice play on the on the wheel route kind of knocked the ball up. But I thought, I thought our defense played outstanding all game on something change that first drug now, I mean not call wise or anything like that. I

just think our guys settled down. And again I think that interception by h Demiko I think was kind of key, and that kind of almost somebody took a deep breath, all right, let's go when then then the rush started getting there. Then the next next series we got Nolan on the interception for a touchdown, and then our guys really started playing. I thought, yeah, I do. I mean, I think they played. But again, besides the opening glove,

I thought our defense played outstanding all game long. You get a sense Demiko is motivated by the faith to Jordan Hicks. He's getting a lot of attention, and you know, am goes to the vet room and do you think he's maybe motivated by that by the younger guy? Now, I think Demiko's motivated twenty four seven. You know, he's and I've said it before, he's our mufassa. He's the leader of our defense, he's leader this football team. Uh, he's motivated every day we're around him, every second I'm

around the guy. So, um, he's been that number leagubal mentor to to Jordan and there's no one that wants to see Jordan sixceeed morton Demiko. So I don't think that motivates him. I just think that's just the type of guy he is when he comes to let me any turnovers. How can Sam bradf for you get better? We had some miscommunication today, you know on a couple of routes where um, the quarterback end the receiver weren't on the same page. But um, we have to clean

that up, you know, and we we've talked about that. Um, his game more familiar in terms of what we're doing. Um, you know, but we can't you know, we can't continue to do that, you know, and against really good football teams. We were fortunate that that we did it and got away with it today, but it's not gonna in this league. You can't do that. And uh, sustain things can sustain winning. So we really got to clean that up on the

offensive side of the ball. Missed communication. It's on both, it's on both, depending on you know, sometimes we're reading coverages and routes are supposed to work in a a certain way. So it's it's not all on Sam, it's on both types of Sam's developments in the system. I don't have an answer, you know, on a continuum answer. I just know he needs to improve and we all need to improve on the offensive side of the ball. I think, uh, you know, we're starting to run the ball better as

a group. Um, we hit him with some good play action passes. I've really got some big chunk place for us. You know. Obviously the first touchdown to Coube, Um we hit them, hit Miles on a nice seam route. Um, We're doing some good things, but we have to be able to finish, especially in the red zone. Going in the second hand, I think our offensive line is starting to really you know, come together as a group. And and uh, you know, the one thing about DeMarco, he's

a downhill, physical runner, runs behind his pads. You know, if we can get him started, and I think we started to get a little push at the line of scrimmage, you know, and then get him to the second level. He can run through a lot of harm tackles, and um, obviously it was really good to see him get going today.

They had that roughing the kicker kind of league, and you guys came back out you were able to score right there where you think that men for your momentum there, Yeah, it helped, you know obviously, I think, you know, we we got stalled on that drive, but then you get the penalty. You know, they ran in and we knew they were a big rush team. Anyways, it was a good job by Donnie getting the ball off because that's a tough group to block. They get a lot of

big guys on their special teams. Um, you know. So for the fact that we could capitalize on that, I thought was big and then that was a deal. We think we capitalized, you know, whether it be the penalty or their turnovers, you know, we capitalize and score points. And then when when we turned it over again, credit our defense, our defense, We didn't give up any points after we turned it over. I thought our defense did a great job and their response after the turnover at

the end of the first half, yet two timeouts. I dat you even you can to pass to the nineteen with thirty three seconds to go one all the time out there instead of because we were trying to save it. And then we took a sack, you know, because again receiver ran a wrong route, so Sam is expecting the receiver to do something else. So we were just weren't on the right page. So I wanted to get away with just a field goal there. Let's let's take the points and let's get in a half time and get

the thing straightened out. But there was a miscommunication on the on the route before that, and there was a miscommunication on the one that he took a sack on waiting. Look, no, I during the week, you didn't really get into how important this game was other than one game. But being it's the first win in the division, it's a game really kind of setting the season back on the right way. How important was this? Every game is important? I mean, so it's not every single game you play is important.

At the end of the year, what you find a record, you can't say what we lost that one, but it wasn't that important. Every game is important, and that's what we talk about so we have a huge one coming up. Whatever you want, Howard, every game is important when we're trying to win, so we don't. I don't go in and say, hey, it's an AFC opponent, let's just take it easy this week because it doesn't count. They all count at the end of the day, they all count,

you know. So this is it's flyve full go, and we're getting ready to go play Carolina. We're not gonna say it's not a division opponent, so let's kick our feet up and take it easy this week. In practice, we got we gotta get ready against real good football team this week. Brandy Graham had been Curry and got a lot of pressure. They did they did, you know, I think a lot of times with what they do because they get the ball out quick, so they're releasing

five guys into the route. There's a lot of single, single blocks going across the front. So obviously it becomes a matchup with our d line against our Oline. And I thought, I thought Vinnie played really well. I thought Fletch played really I thought all those guys, you know, I thought, you know, it was good to see that. And then you know, the one thing you have to do to disrupt the rhythm and timing because the balls out so quick, is get a push in the pass rush?

And I thought we did that reception that was thrown into the end zone. What are you seeing us? We had a matchup. You know, we felt like we had Art's on the safety and it was the ball was just a little bit behind him. But you know, as we were going, that's what we were trying to do, that was what the play call was. That's what we're trying to do. But the ball just looked like it was a little bit behind them. From more I s I think no place coverage wise, What did you do better?

I think we we we were on to a combination of both things. I think it's the pass rush and in terms of what they do, the balls out quick, and so then we talked about if the ball is out quick and it's completely we got to tackle, and I thought we tackled better on the back end between the receivers and the quarterbacks. Is that happening in a little bit of an alarming rate for you at this point in the season. Anytime we're not on the right page,

then we're concerned can you trace them? This communication is from the sideline going in. Is just is that word is or we've had these guys together to spring, Yeah, we know that. Well, it's not one specific thing. It's not always the same thing, so it's not just hey, this happens, so let's correct it. At one point time it's a receiver. At the other point in time, we didn't get it. You know, we get it communicated, So it's it's it's a it's a group of guys, so

we gotta get it straightened out. Discuss. There's head coach Chip Kelly following the Eagles love saying his twenty seven to seven win. Give give, I could break here. Okay, we're all having a night to celebrate here. Okay, that's not a celebration. Dream that was after that's the college show. But I don't know if Freak is going to present that. But nonetheless, the Eagles get the twenty point win over the Giants. They're now first place in the East. We

heard from head coach Chip Kelly. We'll hear from quarterback Sam Bradford in just a little bit now. One of the offensive weapons who I thought that the Eagles would try to get involved more tonight was wide receiver Jordan Matthews. You know, you go to the Giants secondary. They were banged up here coming into this game. No Trumaine McBride in the slot. You figured that was the man who's gonna be matching with Matthews. No Prince Mukamara, who was

arguably their best secondary player coming into this game. However, the Giants were able, for the most part, able to keep Matthews in company in check. Now, he did have the six catches for fifty nine yards, He did have the one fumble and also had the one touch shot that he received from Brandon Merriweather which resulted in the past breakup. Is there a way, Ike that you think that maybe the Eagles can get Matthews more open, more

involved in the offense that they are now? Yeah, I mean, listen, it's all about his comfort level and playing different roles on the team. You know, Jordan Matthews, because of the slot position he has played for the two years that he's been in the league, teams watch him enough. They know what routes he's gonna run. They know what routes the Eagles like to get the ball to him. So if I were the Eagles, I would start to think about moving him around a little bit so you can

hide him in the offense a little bit. Put him, put him on the outside, put him in the slot, put him in motion from time to time, just to give the defense a different look so they can't sort of hone in as to where he is. Because right now, I look at this Eagles offense, I know where number eighty one is going to line up every time. He's either going to be in the left slot or he's going to be in the right slot. And he's either going to run the same He's gonna run acrossing route

or he's gonna run an out route. I mean, that's that's pretty much what Jordan Matthews runs in this offense. And that's where Brandon Merryweather had the big hit the time. I mean he knew it, Yeah, he knew. Okay, I see him coming across the middle, delivered a big hit on him. So I think with Jordan it would allow him to have versatility to his game and I think it would free him up. It'll give him those mismatches at times as well against smaller defensive backs. It was

interesting coming to this game. The Giants ranked last in the league in past defense. They were second of the league in the rushing defense. However, where were the Eagles able us success to Night? Yeah, running the football, and I think that's a positive sign. But it's Eagle's offense. This much Maligne offensive line that's been put together, had guys in and out. It's been scrutinized and criticized, sometimes justifiedly so sometimes unjustifiably. So you see this line getting better.

I look at the last two weeks, Chris. I look at the last two weeks, and I see an offensive line this is getting better, is getting better running to football, all right? The man who handed the ball off to Murray with success to Night quarterback Sam Bradford, now speaking to the media at Lincoln Financial Field point Um, you know, I'm not really sure. You know, I think it, you know, a couple of them following me, a couple of them.

I just feel like maybe we're wlacking some attention to detail. Um, you know, things that need to be cleaned up. Um, you know, the first half, I think we just had we had too many mistakes. He jumped earlier the week that Junior somewhere along the line that you have to be hit hard and then you play really well. I mean it guy piled dracting with the ground and then you go off with the three straight three O the

four the first test down. Yeah, seems like I don't Yeah, I don't know if that's how it always works, but you know, if that's how it's going to be and that's what it takes to get it, then you know that's what it's going to be. Talk about that first plus down to Cop and kind of left kah. That was huge. Um, you know, great concentration, great catch by Coop. You know, I left that ball, you know, a little short, and you know he did good job staying with it

making that play. But you know, I think for us to come out you know, I can't remember it was at our second drive of the day. Second. I mean for us to be able to come out and put a touchdown up, you know, a second drive. It's something you know we haven't done. You know, I don't know how many points we scored in the first half, but it teams that you know we've struggled. Um, you know, so I think to get that going, you know, it

was big for us last week. Much different, Yeah, you know, obviously, I mean I think you guys asked me about it earlier in the week. You know, we had a pretty heavy tendency to run the football when we were under center. But you know, obviously, you know, there's a lot of things that we can do from under center. So you know, I think that if we can't get the play action game going, you know, it compliments the run game, you know,

and they really both should help each other. Let's feel litle message ship Chip had after the game where you guys went two at home after being under siege around here for weeks. You know, what did he say to you as far as putting the season back together? Um, you know our motto from you know, I think Week three has just been taking one week, one game at a time, and that's kind of what we've done. You know, we've won our last two at home. We've won three

of our last four. Um, and that's really how we're handling, you know, the rest of the season. You know, next week we had a big one against Carolina and that's really all that you know, we're concerned with right now. How'd you get how'd you get to Marco the second hand? Um? You know, I think our guys up front, you know, they did a great job, you know, opening some holes for him. But I thought DeMarco ran really hard tonight, made some nice cuts. You know, I thought he had

good vision. Um, you know, and any time that we can get him going, you know, it just really seems to help our offense. No, no, I mean that's not even question. Um. Yeah, it's just inconsistent. You know, miss some throws. Um, you know, there were some good, there were some bad. But you know, I know for us to be where we want to be, I've got to play much better games. Um. I mean, if that's the way you want to look at it, then yeah, I mean it wasn't as good as the last two games,

there's no doubt about it. But um, you know, like I said, I think everything that went wrong tonight's correctable. You know, we'll get in look at the tape, you know, see what corrections need to be made. You know, try to get ready for next week this year. But you see, economy, we think the probable Yeah, Um, I don't know. I mean if I knew that, I'd stopped throwing them. But you know it's something that you know, I've never really

had a problem with in my career. Um. You know, I've never thrown a lot of interceptions, so this is kind of new to me. But you know, we're gonna get it fixed. I'm gonna get it fixed, and you know, hopefully we're going to eliminate that from our offense. Two. Do you feel good? I mean, is it a matter of try too hard or trying to be too fine? I mean they'll do the best to hurt. Do you think there's anything to that? I don't know. Um, I don't know. You know, I think it's a combination a

lot of things. You know, the first one just a terrible throw. You know, I missed it. You know, hurts was open um, you know, and then the other two. You know, the kid made a good play on one, and you know I just went on the same page with Coop on the other one. Especially you're getting some of these games early on the offense isn't getting on the way. Yeah, they create momentum. Man Our defense was outstanding tonight. You know, for those guys to play they

the way they did, especially after that first drive. Um, you know, I think all the credit goes to them. You know, it seems like every time we needed to stop or a big play, you know, they created a lot of turnovers tonight. That always gives us momentum, That always gives us juice. But you know, I mean they

pretty much shut them down after that first drive. And as an offense, when you know that, you know your defense has your back like that, you know, it gives you a lot of confidence after that, After that roughing, the Kieny looked like there was so illustration a little bit on the sideline. You seemed like you were talking to these guys saying, you know, that's getting going here. It just says that, you know, we need to start

taking advantage of these opportunities to get it out here. Yeah, I mean obviously, and you know that was a huge one, you know, you know, to get back on the field after that pen on the end to go down and score it was big, guys, Thank your will be all right. There's quarterback Sam Bradford addressing the media following the Eagles twenty seven to a seven win over the New York Football Giants. Chris McPherson alongside Ike Greece here at the

Novacare Complex. We should be hearing from running back to Marco Murray in just a little bit to get his take on his first one hundred yard rushing performance as a member of the Philadelphi Eagles. Not at midnight green Tonights, nonetheless, So in the all black jersey's getting the job done. It was very interesting to hear Bradford talked about the defense there and how how much easier is as an office knowing that you don't feel the pressure to score

every time you go out there. Maybe after the first drive that they thought we gotta go out there put points up on the board immediately or down seven nothing, the crowds are going to be taken out of it. We need to respond. But the deals were able to get to tie the game. Nolan Carroll had to pick six and then dominated from there. So Bradford kind of knew the defense as are back tonight, so we can just go out there and play very reminiscent of some

of those indie re teams. Yeah, I mean it's very important. I understand the sort of temperature of the game. When you're the quarterback, you know whether or not you need to pick up the tempo, whether or not need to force throws to make something happen, or you say to yourself, take take, take what the defense is giving you and don't make mistakes. I think tonight was one of those games. It's just that you just needed to take what the Giants' defense was given you and allow your defense to make

the plays for you. They gave you a short field several times a night. You need to capitalize when you get the short field. And there's nothing wrong with winning football games that way. There's nothing wrong with the quote unquote term of game manager. That's what makes quarterbacks the smart ones last long in his league, as they know when it's time to manage the game, and they know when it's time to pick up their play and put

the team on their back. And this was a game tonight that because of the defense was playing so well, you didn't have to force anything. You didn't have to force anything. So I think Sam is still understanding that. Again, he comes from an organization and the culture that isn't used to winning a lot of football games, and being out in Saint Louis probably played from behind an awful lot, so he put added pressure on himself. Sometimes you gotta let the guys around you do the work and you

just add him when you need to. There'll be games where Sam has to throw the ball forty five times and put the team on his shoulders and do it. But when you have your defense rolling like you did tonight, don't need to force it. Just keep moving the chain and eventually your opportunities will come. Well, you mentioned the time in Saint Louis, and we're giving you our take on the game. We want to hear from you the fun numbers two and five, three, two zero five in

seven zero to make sure to chime in. But maybe going back to Saint Louis, once they would lose all of a sudden, the wheels would fall off, and then they would be down and not be able to get back into games. And then after a while it goes back to culture. You kind of had that feeling. Here we go again. All right, we're already down fourteen nothing. The defense is struggling. I'm not on top of my game. I don't have a lot of help coming from around me.

There's no way we're coming back to win this game. Let's throw in the towel. Now we're here in Philadelphia. It's we've got playmakers on the defensive side of the football. They're able to double Eli Mann's interception toll for the entire season. In one night. They're able to get to

them and cause pressure on the quarterback. They're able to make plays, score points as Nolan Carroll did tonight, and if you look at all the weapons around on offense, they're able to step up their game around him to help him out. The offensive line stepping up once again, so it's not all on Sam Bradford. Maybe when he was the number one overall pick in Saint Louis, he had to be the guy. He was looked at as

being the franchise guy. Here, it's like, look, we obviously think highly enough of you that we Delta Pro Bowl quarterback to get you, but we have everyone else here to help you get the job done. They put a team around him, and that's all he needs to understand is that I have talented players around me to help me with this thing. It doesn't have to all be

on me. And again, this is a learning process for him at this level that he's a he's in a system now and he's with the team now that everything isn't being placed on his shoulders like it was out there in Saint Louis where he needs to feel pressure to make something happen. It's okay to just remain in the game through the first half. You want to win this thing in the fourth quarter. You can't win the game in the first half. You can lose it in

the first half by turning the ball over. But ultimately, most games in this league is going to come down to the fourth quarter, and you want to make sure that you're in position that you can win the ball game in the fourth quarter. And that's sort of where he's getting there. He's getting there and it's just taking a little more time. And once this running game keeps going, it's going to release that much more pressure from him because he doesn't have to throw the ball as much.

I think you can use that fourth quarter metaphor to not just for an individual game, before the entire season. Look, the Eagles have improved each and every week. The point now is they're at three and three, They're in first place in a division, new season for them. They're gonna have the byeway coming up in two weeks. The goal here is to be playing your best football in the month of December so you can make that push toward the playoffs. Where last season the Eagles were great out

of the game. They were nine and three, but they struggle in the month of December and end up missing the postseason. Here, make it the opposite. Yes, you're going through your kinks, but you're back in position where you

can make the playoffs. If they had lost this game and they were two and four, then it's like, Okay, maybe they would be able to improve for down the stretch, but they dug themselves too big of a hole to be able to get out of, Whereas here they're putting themselves down in position to make that push in the run of December. We're gonna go to the phone lights. Now on the Postgame Show presented by Rico, we welcome

Richie from New York to the show. Richie, what do you think of the Eagles twenty seven to seven win? What's up boys? How about that defense? Huh? Outstand? No, I loved it, Richie. Love seeing great defense, brother, But Bradford, he underthrew so many balls tonight, man. I mean even that first touchdown it could have easily been picked. Yeah. The struggles, Yeah, the struggles once again. So you know, again, that's kind of what we're going through here is you know,

he's gotten acclimated to the offense. You still see some miscommunication here and there. You know, he talked about the interceptions. The one to Earth, he just overthrew, the one in the in the end zone, the guy made a good play on. But the one deep to Cooper, it's I think he was expecting Cooper to keep going deep, just like they had earlier. Doubt about it. Yeah, and no doubt about that. Give me the clear. And Chip always talks about it's never one guy's fault. There's different facets

to the passing game. And when the interception happened, it could have been because the past protection breakdown, could be because the receiver didn't run the correct route or didn't expect get the ball when he was expecting it, or it could be a bad throw. I mean, all those things had to be taken into account when you're talking about the reason for turnovers like like interceptions. And but here's the bottom line. The quarterback did what he was

exactly supposed to do, which is accept fault. You're not about to throw anybody else under the bus. And as again as Sam Bradford becomes more and more acclimated to playing winning football, all right, we're gonna send it back to linkn Fincial Field for our last press conference. Running back to Marca Murray, the Office taken over. Bos, I don't think I worried about it. I don't think the

offense worried about it. Um. I think, um, we just continue to play with continue to come in every day and work and trying to get better, try to execute. I thought the office line did well. Um, defense played outstanding again, and they're giving us a lot of chances with the turnovers and and just I'm holding those guys who to less points which I feel like we've been converted third downs more. I feel like a lot of guys are are playing well. Obviously, the receivers are making

plays down and feel offensive line blocking a lot better. Um, we're running the ball, you know, more physical and we're you know, able to run this oram tackles and some trash and whatnot. So I thought as a whole offensively, we turned the ball over a few times. I think man Sam had one on the ground. So um, but you know, we just gotta continue to get better and execute. What's different games. Uh, Like I said, we're just all

executing better. We're all on the same page, and you know, we're you know increasingly you know, just getting better, getting more comfortable with each other. How much more comfortable do you feel in the offense? Yeah, just shout how much more comfortable do you feel in the offense over the last couple weeks? And say when you first arrived to your sort, I think I've always felt comfortable. I mean,

like I said, it's an ongoing process. I think, you know, you put in new plays every week, You're you're seeing different looks from different opponents. And I think we just got a team to work hard and um, and you know, Chip put together a great game, playing along with other coaches, and I think, like I said, offensive line, they've blocked well does it? Does it feel like the offensive line is kind of starting to click a little bit more in front of you? When Yeah, Yeah, I think, um,

coach Stott does a great job with those guys. And I think, um, JP and Lane and Kelsey, those guys are or leaders of that group. So I think they're you know, taking upon themselves. And everyone's looking in the mirror, and you know, everyone knows it's just up to you. Um, it's up to yourself to be the best version you can be. And UM, I think we're doing that. You know, throughout the week and it's giving us a chance on on Sundays and Mondays were going to roll that you

had over twenty carries. And how is that you know, helping you you know, as hard as getting into a rhythm. Yeah, I think it all goes back to you know, obviously, you know, getting more plays and you're converting third downs and whatnot. So I thought offensive line played well and you know Ryan came in there, did well, Spurls always does a good job. Um, So I think we're all on the same page. Well, we'll just continue to get better. You think it was five carries for after that, it'll

be what clicked at that book on that drive. I think Chip just gave us opportunity, you know, like I said, offensive line, and you know Chip called a lot of great plays for us and put us in a great position to make play. So, um, it's you know, like I said, it's an ongoing process. We got to continue to learn from the things that we did. We all tonight and you know there's a couple of things that we didn't do so good. We got to you know, come into them all correct them and go from there.

I feel like as the kind of the game went on. Physically, you feel like you got a stronger RESU game. Yeah, yeah, man, I think whenever you you know, get opportunity to play and um, you know, just kind of get touches, and like I said, with anyone, I think you get better as the game goes on, including myself and um, you know, so before you the place down, more guys, two more, before you score the touchdown, you laughed after a nice run and looked like you were at or just motivated.

What was going to brave in your arms? I don't remember that. Yeah, it was two weeks ago after Washington game. Frustrated locker room, where are you got down depiction? I think everyone, Um, you know, obviously we all know what's at stake, and we're not looking past anyone. This was

a good Giants team and we're able to execute. And but the end of the day, you know, we're just taking it one game at a time, and we know we got a long long way to go, and you know, we know what we want to be and not just winning one or two games. We want to continue to grow and it all starts with our work ethic throughout the course of the week and making sure we're mentally

and physically ready to be prepared. And I think we've done a great job of that the last two weeks and having great days of practice, and then you know the results has been there for us. First place. Feel good, Thank you guys. Very interesting there at the end a reporter asking him about to feel good to be in first place. Market doesn't care about first place today. He wants to get this team on a role. You know, he's happy at a good game, but he's happy happy

earth that the team has a win streak going. They're finally a five hundred and maybe they got some special code. Let me tell you what I'm noticing about this team. That is a big time positive for a team that has so many new players and they're playing with each other with high expectations from the outside for the first time. This team does not seem to be satisfied. They seem to have dug in and they know they dug themselves a big hole and they have tunnel vision right now.

Three and three. Are you happy to be in first place? Of course not. You know why. You know why they aren't happy because they look at it three and three record and say, we've underachieved through six games. We are a better team than three and three. And I like that mentality because what that says is we won't be satisfied. And two, we really are the best team in the NFC. So the good thing about football season, it's a marathon.

It's not a sprint. If you mentioned it earlier, as long as you're playing your best football in December and January. We've seen teams go on runs that led the Super Bowl Championship, the head nine and seven, ten and six records. Unfortunate is that team that they played tonight. That's who I was thinking. Yes, we're all thinking, yes, we're gonna go to the phone lines. Now, let's welcome in Sean from Houston to the postgame show presented by Rico. Sean.

What do you think of the Eagles win? I absolutely thought it was fantastic question. And foremost I can Chris, I want to wish you guys have you know good win. I wanted to focus on two points, and foremost I wanted to talk about Jordan Matthew's drop. Now having him featured in the slot, we have him going through traffic and a lot of the fingers to you know, sandwich tackle on them or hit him blindside. Do you think this is affecting this year? And that's what we were

talking about. Yeah, that was exactly one of the points that we were trying to make a little while ago. Is you know, in a matchup that should have favored Jordan Matthews tonight going against a banged up Giant secondary, the projected slot corns remain mcbright was out. How come they couldn't feed him the ball more? And I picked it up. It's he runs the same routs of the same position where if you look at Odell Beckham, the star receiver for the Giants, they move him every which

way possible. They put him on the outside, they put him in the backfield and put them in the slot. Whatever they can do to give him the matchup, that's what they'll do to get him open. Yeah, And even if he's not going to be the primary target, when you move him, at least you're given the defense a different look and he's not in the same place. So I think it would help him out. I really do. I mean, I think he has the ability to do it. Again, he doesn't have to be your primary target if he's

lined up on the outside. I think a guy like Huff could play in the slot. He's physical enough to play in that slot. Hey, move Urson theary slot sometimes just to give the defense something else to think about. All right, we're gonna take a quick commercial break here on the post game Show presented by Rico. Your reaction and much more to come right after this break. I got tickets met so tickets. You need a Metro ticket? Talk to me, please. I don't even know he'ven real tickets.

You know, to touch it, this leather legit. I mean, how do we really know it looks good? Right now? I'm paying myself. I gotta make Does a baby need a Metro ticket, I'll give her one on me. These tickets, they're not stealing your soul. You can look at them. May nobody wants to buy tickets from a guy on the street. I don't understand. Even ordinary moments become milestones

when you've overcome cancer. At Jefferson's Sydney Kimmel Cancer Center, if we had a marker for every patient we treated who is now cancer free, markers would be everywhere evidence that our personalized approach to cancer treatment is producing some of the highest survival rates in the nation and that's a milestone for everyone, Jefferson, until every cancer is cured. One hundred and thirty yards. Now, Bill's got a very tough fly here. Looks like we have some sort of

sea monster in the water hazard here. I believe that's a cracking Bruce. Looks like he's gonna go with the nine hour. That may not be enough. Club, Well, he's definitely gonna lose a stroke on this whole. If you're a golf commentator, you whispered. It's what you do. If you want to say fifteen percent of more on car insurance, you switched to Geico, It's what you do. This golf course is electric right now. Sonton there will pay you when you open and use a new santon There checking account.

Now there's something to celebrate. Learn more at Santander bank dot com. Welcome back to the Postgame Show, presented by Rico Chris McPherson alongside the cold blooded Ike Greece. We're gonna go back to the phone lines and welcome in Tom from Baltimore as we're celebrating a twenty seven to seven beat down of the New York Giants. Tom, how's everything going. I'm good, but I'm from Buffalo, not it's a beating. It's another struggling football team, so that's right,

that's right. But I'm a niggles through and through, so he yep. I just wanted to make a comment about the offensive line. I tell you, these guys have really come through and that you know, there's a couple backups in there and they're doing a great job. I was a little disappointed in Kelsey tonight with those uh snaps, Yeah, the missile snap mental things. I mean, down on him one hundred percent, so that I think that hurt us a little, but he'll he'll be all right. I don't

think that's a problem. And then, uh, the other thing, those first two drives, I was scared to death. I thought this thing is going to go downhill. And then I really do agree with you that DeMarco's interception turn this thing around, no doubt about it. It turned it around. So it was a great night. It was. It was a great game. It was fun to watch. Too many mistakes, but didn't know that. And I think we're gonna be

all right. I'm getting to feel better and better every game. Yeah, I think I think you got it, got it pegged right, Tom, I think I think the team is starting to feel better and better about itself each and every game, And as we continue to watch this team grow into a team, I think we can start to feel better and better about the team because at least we see them getting better week in and week out. So steal things to clean up. Steal things to clean up. But we're sitting

the top of the division. It's a lot easier to clean it up when you're at the top of the division. Is it true that you're hiding in the press box during those first two drives? Oh yeah, yeah, what goodness? And I and to that Demiko Ryan's picked off that pass. Yeah,

I did not have a good feeling. Every fan was Probably every fan came in raids to roll tonight, you know, the big introduction Donovan and Dark coming out with b West for the Hall of Fame celebration, and then you're like, all right, they're gonna get this thing rolling, and all of a sudden, you see the march down the field. You're like, uh, all right, So Tom, you have another point you wanted to make? Hello? Yeah, yeah, hey, Sean,

there we go. Hey, I just had a quick, quick point I wanted to focus on, and that was on the Carolina Panthers that we were playing next week. Undefeated Carolina Panthers. Sean undefeated Carolina Panthers. And you know, of course Ship has some history with Cam Newton playing him in the UH in the you know, National Championship game and all that good stuff. But nonetheless I wanted to focus on their defense. Now. Of course, Sean mcdermick and

Steve Pagnola have some similarities. Now we going up against the same exact defense as far as scheme is concerned, a little bit. But the most talent, Yeah, talent's a little different. Yeah. One of the best meal linebackers all football man of that line. And I'll tell you what. They got a cornerback down there, who I think a lot of people don't know a whole lot about. I can't think of his name, right woman, Ye, man, he

is a very good player. So it'll be interesting to see all receivers matched up against Josh Norman, who I think he may be tied for the league lead and interceptions at cornerback. So um, next Sunday night, totally different defense, a much better defense. It'll be on the road, bigger test and they're car starting. They're starting to believe because Caroline is a team that you're like, they have no receivers. Cam's gonna fold. Add that defense, Keithley was injured for

a good part of this stretch yesterday. All of a sudden, people are starting to believe, and they're starting to believe down there. So it's gonna be quite an atmosphere down there's Charlotte on Sunday night. But let's get back to the celebration of tonight's victory. You've heard from us. Now let's sending back to Lincoln Financial Field, the MC of the halftime ceremony, the induction of Brian Westbrook and Maxi Bond into the Eagles Hall Fame. Dave Spadero, let's get

his thoughts on the game. Take it away. Dave Feller. Defensive effort leads the Goose on Monday Night to a twenty seven to seven victory over the New York Giants and now the Eagles in first place in the NFC East with a three and three record. It certainly seemed like the Giants had the Eagles number early, taking the opening kickoff nine plays eighty yards and Eli Manning touchdown

pass to Odell Beckham Junior. It looked too easy, and after the Eagles went three and out on their first offensive possession, the Giants went right back down the field into Eagles territory and then the play was made that turned the game around, to Miko Ryans stripping the ball away from tight end Larry Donald on a completed pass it looked like from Eli Manning. The Eagles had possession, and all of a sudden they had life. Sam Bradford a touchdown pass to Riley Cooper to end that drive.

It was seven to seven, the Eagles first touchdown of this two thousand and fifteen regular season in the first quarter. It was a big one for the Eagles. In the second quarter, it was time for the defense to assert itself, and it certainly did. Nolan Carroll stepping in front of a Manning pass on the sideline and going the distance twenty three yards. Checked that seventeen yards for the touchdown for Carol. The Eagles had a lead that they would

not relinquish the rest of the game. It was an ugly one, the Eagles turning the ball over four times, the Giants turning it over three times. DeMarco Murray one hundred and nine rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. It was a slug fest and it was an ugly one. But at the end of the day, the Eagles walk away with a twenty seven to seven victory and they're in first place in the NFC East with a critical Sunday night game in Carolina ahead. Thank you very much,

Dave Ike, your thoughts senior. Good friends, b West going to the Hall of Fame tonight and Maxi Bond, very very good linebacker. I know a lot of fans probably don't know about him. Some of the older fans who

knew about the nineteen sixty teams certainly do. But Maxie Ball was a lynchpin of that team and no doubt about it, a great player, and he's sort of got lost a little bit and all the seller operation for the modern day player and Brian westbroo with Maxi Bond nine Pro Bowls in eleven years, that's almost unheard of. The fact that he's being honored tonight going into the Eagles Hall of Fame is a great honor. But I don't understand why this man hasn't been honored by going

into the National Football League Hall of Fame. Nine Pro Bowls in eleven years. Not many linebackers can say that they had that on their resume. Now to my former teammate watching Brian Westbrook being honored tonight, I've had the privilege to attend several of these of my former teammates Dawkins,

Donovan McNabb, obviously Troy Vincent. For a guy like myself who was primarily a role player on this team and who will never receive such an honor as being inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame, When my teammates, guys I played with receive an honor like this, I feel like a part of me is going in with those guys, and I just I'm overwhelmed with joy for those guys. His family was here tonight, has a wonderful family, his mom,

his dad, his brother. There a close knit family. And as great as Brian Westwook was as an Eagle and as a player, the guy was a better person and a better teammate. I mean, a real genuine article when it comes to being just a true friend and a true teammate. So to watch him get the honor bestowed upon him to Night, small kid out of Maryland, Baltimore area to matt the High School with the Villanova became

an all time great there. Took this kid in the third round to play here, and most people thought he was going to be a role player, a specialist throughout his career. No one ever imagined that Brian Westwook would put together the career that he was able to put together here in Philadelphia. And it was just a true honor and the privilege to play with him and to be there to watch him inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame. The night, it's just truly truly deserving, truly deserving.

Do you tell him remember whose block it was that sparked you? Twelve years ago might be past midnight, but twelve years ago, I don't have many moments, so you best believe I always remind him a bet I got a little glam on to him and that big return he had to save our season in two thousand and three up in the Meadowlands, But he had so many

great plays. I just enjoy talking about him as a teammate, because I mean, the guy still to this day, we're good friends, still talk all the time, and it was just it was just a great night for him and his family, and I'm happy to say I was a teammate of his. All right, So if you weren't able to check out the ceremony, we have it live for you or on demand for you here on philadelphiagas dot com. You can check out at any point. On Monday, head

coach Chip Kelly will addressed the media. It's his day after press conference beginning at one pm, and speaking of Westbrook. He will be the co host for tomorrow's three sixty with Dave Spadarow that comes away at five pm. The complete news and notes wrap up of everything Eagles. Looking back at the eagles twenty seven seven win over the New York Giants and begin to look a little bit ahead to sunday It's matchup with the Carolina Panthers. That's gonna do it for us. Here on the postgame show

presented by Rico Rike Greece, I'm Chris McPherson. Thanks for joining us. The Eagles are three and three, and more importantly, they're in first place in the Annecy East. Have a great night, everyone,
