As you guys know, we've made the decision to release Josh Huff. The last forty eight hours, we've spent a lot of time discussing this as an organization, going through our process and gathering information James from yesterday to today, because yesterday Doug said he didn't anticipate any discipline come. Um. For us, we just want to go through a process, gather all the information, and then sit down as an organization and make a decision that we think is the
right decision for the Philadelphia Eagles. You know. Um, for us, we just felt, based on the circumstances and the facts involved, that it was the right thing to do for our football team. We met Jeffrey Don myself and coach and we made this decision together the statements that he made yesterday.
Having listening to do with it, joh No m this situation was about gathering all the information and trying to do what we felt was right for the Philadelphi Eagles that came available between the time Doug taught us yesterday and when you made the move, we spent a lot of time over the last forty eight hours just making sure that we had the information and that we weren't rushing to judgment, and that we have a process in place for these sort of things that could lead us
to what we think is the right decision. Gone on the premises here before you left and was arrested, Josh told us that he did not. Did you find out that he did? No, you do explore that further. And you have a regulation here against that occurring with players. It's a league policy about having weapons at the facility, a number of its it's the last several months will
the off field. It's why why Josh Hawk, Well, we have to take each of these um separately, examine the facts that we have, and go through a process and then make a decision that's in the best interest of this organization. Was a different one, more severe than that. Nigel products that a fact situation and the circumstances and this were different than Nigel. You heard any pressure in any way for you to do something? Now you mentioned were you that sat down and had the discussion? Was
it a back and forth discussion? And we're all of you on board with the decision. Everyone was on board and the decision. That's why we made the decision. UM And over the last fourty eight hours. When we go through our process, we talked to a lot of people and again there's no science to this. We have a process and we try to do what's right. Did you make the discission and what's probably available? Yeah, I think we're comfortable with the information that we had that led
us to the decision. When you make when Doug came here yesterday, did was there a decision to make that you're going we were going to keep him? Um? Or did you still not know the time? Um? Yeah? Yeah, as you know that when you look at the timeline from Tuesday to now, we were continuing to gather information.
We didn't want to just rely on media reports. We want to be thoughtful in how we were making this decision, and so all day yesterday we were really spending a lot of time through last night and into this morning. When we finally made the final decision. How that would make Doug lookdo in terms of I mean, he came up here and said he was going to embrace the player, He's going to love on him, and all of a sudden a day later, here you are releasing him. Yeah.
I think that we all care about Josh Huff. You know, we care about the players on our team. That's the business we're in. Um. We spent a lot of time with them and these decisions are hard, but we got to do what's right for the Philadelphia Eagles. He invested a third amount picking them, and he's really found a nichees a kick return or how disappointing is it, you know, here we are in the middle of the season to have to do this. Yeah, I think that that's the
right word. It's disappointing that we have to stand up here and do this. But we're trying to build something, and we're trying to build something that lasts, and some of that means that we're gonna have to make some hard decisions and all we can do is do what
we think is right for the Philadelphiagles. To follow up on Jeff's question, do you even did you give any consideration to the possibility that by changing the course after Doug had laid out it seemed to be a stranchise policy that you run the risk of making the head
coach little pretty weak, pretty ineffectual. Our number one priority is to do what's right for this team, and coaches one hundred percent on board with this and doing that and at the same time, you know, while we're going through the process, we also have to do things sometimes to protect the outcome, and we don't want to get to the outcome without going through that process. How he wanted to argue that Josh put himself in this situation sounds,
according to him, like it's an honest mistate. But but you is in charge of this schoolball team. What is your level? Just how to say you work? Yeah, I think again, I'd go back to the word just disappointed that we're standing here right now and discussing this as we're playing a big game this week. And um, there's no doubt that he was coming along as a player and that he helps this team. But we have to do what's in the best interest of this organization, this building,
uh and the sixty three guys. We have a responsibility to a lot of people here and we don't take that lightly. Said, I think that's for you guys to infer and discuss. This is going to play in the locker room. I know he's got a lot of friends
in there. Did you talk to them the duck talk to them in Well, in the last four or eight hours, we've spent a lot of time with a lot of people in this building discussing this and going over the scenarios, and um, we got a lot of good people in this building and we want to do They want to do what's right as we're trying to move forward here
and build something. It's a message coach and I met with Josh together this morning, UM, and we just told them in person and UM, you know, obviously tough conversation for all of us. Reaction what was the conversation? Well, I think it's important we keep the specifics of the conversation, but it's a hard thing to do on all of us. You know, that's the hardest part of this business, is cumulative effect of the fact that there were is it's
prior to this from other players that that influential. Thank you. Well. We try to take every incident individually, go through a process and make a decision that's right for the Philadelphias. From Nagel's incident, I mean they're both involving firearms he actually hit. The two episodes, yeah, a very different set of circumstances, and obviously we have to go through all of those when we do that to figure out, um,
what's the right decision for us. A level of charges figure into this the fact that he's quite likely facing jail time. Again, we have a process that we go through. We look at all the information that we have, and then we try to make the best decision for the philadelphiveris of the charges, what sets this off? What's the one that that really bothered to a decision. I think when we went through the whole process, we thought this
was the right decision for the Philadelphia Eagles. I don't know that there's a reason to get in the specifics other than we thought this was the right decision for the Philadelphi Eagles season. You guys signed some players that had character issues in the past, incidence off the field. Do you think this is a result of that. I would just take this specific instance and how we felt here and again when we went through the last forty eight hours and gathered all the facts and all the information,
we thought this was the right decision for it. That this is an issue in terms of the players that you have signed, that this could be something that could further happen. No, I mean, obviously I can't predict the future, but we feel like we have a good group and we're heading in the right direction. En filled yet No, it's just been it being filled by Sunday. Yes, I
on on guns, there's lead policy on guns. Um. But again I think that I'd like to just keep it to this specific example with Josh and um we wish him well as he moves forward here. Thank you, yeah, thank you,
