All right, good morning. First of all, apologize for my my voice. I'm got this little nasally thing work in these last couple of days, So apologize for that. But I want to start by saying, uh, first of all, just congratulations to the soul. Uh that's that's a tremendous uh honor, a tremendous game to win that championship like that, and so uh the entire team, the players, coaches, UH, front office staff, congratulations and uh it's a way to
bring that trophy home. Give us any indication today? If who will not practice? I will, I will, I will. UM gonna arrest a couple of guys. There's eleven of them on the list actually, so Ron Brooks, Brent Sellec, Nick Foles, Nathan Gary, Naji, Brandon Graham, Jordan Higgs, Sydney, Jalen Mills, Paul Turner and Destiny Well not practice, whether Nick will play game and not yet, still day to day with him. Um it's getting better obviously, and uh he'll begin throwing again this week, so not again. I
don't want to rush him back. So two full days of practice participation and then it got sore again. Are you able to trust him for the season one. No, I am, I am, you know these are these are obviously sensitive, you know, elbow issues and being on a throwing arm like that. I just want to make sure he's he's getting the proper amount of throws. That's why we're going to ease him back in again this week and and uh and get him get him ready for
the regular season. But I hope you ready. We want to get towards guy's a good influence whether you carry three quarterbacks or two given an uncertainty surrounding the elbow. No, um, not at all, not at all. There an it's goods injury serious or any of those eleven guys serious that we're unaware of. Um No, actually all these guys outside of Sydney will all be ready for week one. Yeah, you explain how you kind of this week is you got a game on Thursday, but then the other part
of it is a game in September. Do you prepare the players certain players one way and certain players another way? Yeah, we spend spend these next couple of days just kind of um, you know, folks in on Washington a little bit our our our season, uh, you know, opening opponent and um, you know our our so called starters, the guys who we think are going to play in that game. Give give them a couple opportunities to look at the the fronts, the coverages obviously, the formations and some of
the plays right now. Um, just to get them started that way. And then on top of that, Um, our guys are gonna be playing Thursday. You know, we got to get them ready to go for one more preseason game. Give them every opportunity to showcase their talent. And uh and uh in hopes of making the roster, I moved back back Thursday. And how do you feel about tons
of tackle death and everything's here? Well, I feel great obviously now with the additional bow you know, we activated him obviously, and uh, um, I'm excited to watch him practice the next few days again, taking it slow with him. He hasn't done anything physically for for a while, and and I want to take it slow with him, but I hope to get him some time Thursday night. Roster move you made. It's also a little bit about the two, yeah,
with Terrence and McDougall. Yeah, No, it's um. First of all, um, you know, with Terrence, I mean it's it's a great opportunity for him, um to go and and uh and compete and and and be a part of that that organization and and be a part of Todd's defense and and then in our case with McDougald, just adding adding more depth at the corner and nickel position and um, you know, just letting him come in here and compete and and and see see where he's as a young kid.
That uh, um you know works out about getting in here and getting him going with with the defense. That's where you see him. And then will we be out here today? No, No, you can play on. Yeah, we just gotta make sure we gotta get him in here. We got some preliminary things we gotta do. Um you know, and it's it's still to be determined if you if you'll play Thursday, but uh, if he's ready to go, you know, wouldn't mind letting them let him take a
few snaps. I mentioned Nicole, is that where people primarily have him playing. No, you know he's played both. If you watch the film, he's played inside and outside. So um you know that's something that uh that that we'll monitor and we'll watch when he gets here. I think you mentioned Jay wal Mills on the list. What's going
on with him hand injury? Just rest day today, Corey Graham, did that make you a little more comfortable to let Terns go his ability to fit into Yeah, Corey, you know Corey was a veteran safety obviously, and um, you know, added added depth at that position, and this just gives Terrence uh now an opportunity to to compete and play. And uh you know, we're very comfortable with the guys we had with Rodney and and uh and Malcolm and Corey and and uh U the depth that we have
at that position. It would the overall decision to not play the ones quite as much as maybe you doing years past, is does that represent a philosophical shift? And if so, what's behind him? Not a philosophical shift? Um, Listen, we had two great days against him out here, all ones and twos and and they got a lot of red.
They actually play a full about a game and a half, you know, snap wise for two days and as about forty eight hours before that game, and you know it's rare, and I don't think we ever play a game on forty eight hours rest. So um, I didn't want to put our guys in in any kind of harms way, fatigue sets in, you know, obviously, and um, I didn't
want to do that to our players. I thought they played extremely well though to get the two touchdowns on offense and defensively, Uh, the way the way they came out and played, Um, I was comfortable with that. And uh, so I decided to pull them, pull them early. You played the position. How does the elbow soreness affect the quarterback? And what can be done to matters that? Well, you know, you manage it by you you limit some throws, um.
You know. But at the same time, you know, we get to the regular season and it's you got to play with a little soreness and a little pain, and and everybody's going to be in that in that situation all season long. Uh and the quarterbacks no different. So um, you know, we just got to continue to stay on
top of his treatment. Make sure he's getting getting the right treatment obviously on that, on that, on that elbow, um, and and do what we can even in practice to make sure he's getting the right amount of reps where we're not taxing especially early now in the season where we're starting to build him back up to uh, you know, regular season four. Have you seen him from app to
play for the season games. I'd say, he's he's, he's a he's a kid that came in here and obviously, you know, we brought him in as a third and and then you know, with Nick you know, resting and not playing, it's given him a great opportunity to play. And um, you know, uh, he's he's, he's done a great job for us. Um, you know, he's he was
twenty two or twenty six the other night. I mean, had a had a tremendous game, led a let a good uh touchdown drive against their starters in that game, you know, in the second quarter, and and um, you know, he's done everything we've asked him to do. So I've been very pleased with him. He's a smart kid. Uh, he's he's tough mentally and physically tough. And uh he's been been a pleasure to having camp. That's a quarterbacks.
But it's sofully crowded right now, you know, Robin sod folks, maybe God, have you seen any separation uh at that spot, especially with Mabe Brooks and h Robinson. Yeah, you know, um, you know with just kind of going back even with with Ron Darby and some of the comments we made back when Ron was here. It kind of pushed guys like Rasul Douglas back just a little bit to see and give him you know, a broader, uh picture scope
on defense, I think. And now you see him starting to come along, you know, because because of where he's at, you know, Jalen's obviously uh in a good position, and just still want to still want to create some competition at that spot, UM, you know, bringing as much depth
as you can. And listen, like I said after the game the other night to the players and might have mentioned it to you guys, you know, they gotta make it tough on us, you know, make it tough on us to UM to add the right depth, UM, to have the right guys on this football team. And and uh, this just this just adds to the talent talent level at that at that spot. He's develop free where you expected him to be at this point a year. Yeah,
as a first year player. UM. We've asked a lot of them actually all the way back to OTAs from a running back standpoint, from a receiver standpoint, you know, UM, and and so typically typically at this time of camp where you know, everything has been exposed to him. Um. Yeah, for a young player. Um, he's right where, right where
I expected him to be. And and I think he can only get better now when we start game planning and start honing in on you know, our defenses and things like that during the week, get play specific um with him if he's available to us on Sunday U and and he'll just get better from there. In terms of the protection for Carson, how would you assess how it's been in these first three games? And does game planning make a considerable difference. Game planning makes a considerable
difference because you can scout all their looks, all their blitzes. Um, study the uh you know, studied actually just the opponent. You know, how does he rush, what hand is down, what foot is back. Those are all things that as we get into the regular season, offensive linemen begin to study. You know, Um, it's been good. I wouldn't say it's been great. You know. Obviously the other night there were a couple of shots that he took that that uh, you know, on a couple of pressures that that again
we didn't scout. We weren't we weren't you know, game planning, anybody just going and play and executing. So, um, I'm not concerned at all, you know with our protection. Um. You know, and and you know as we get into the regular season, now we spend a lot of time looking at blitz is, looking at past rush and making sure are not only our backs, but our tight ends
and offensive line are tuned into that protection. Which roster maddeles stand out to you heading into the last preseason game, Well, I think the corner position, corner nickel position is going to be an interesting battle this this week. Um, you know, even even the running backs, you know, I think it's it's exciting. I thought, I thought they all did a great job the other night. Um, you know in that game. So it would be interesting this week to see how
that plays out. Um, got a couple of young tight ends you know, uh that be interested to see in the Slash preseason game. Um, and and so and then we got you think, look on offense again, there's a couple of young offensive linemen. You know, Dylan Gordon, you know, Taylor Hart, Um, guys like that that that are competing for sponsors. Is gonna be fun to watch these guys not only in practice this week, but but again on Thursday night. Thanks okay, all right, thanks guys,
