Are you. Yeah, you know, we're in a live situation too, so I understand the competitiveness of the drill. But we we've uh you know, I've tried to get the message across too. Sometimes we just protect each other. UM, try not to go low if you can't. You know, it's reactionary stuff. UM. And uh, you know you can't fault the players for for trying to make plays. Well right now, Um with with Zach he's again him and uh, him and Marcus are both being evaluated, um for head injuries

you know right now upper upper body. Um, just being evaluated. So I'll have more for you probably later today. Uh Mike Martin has a left knee sprain. He left practice and then uh Matthews same thing, left knee being evaluated. So we'll know more after. Excuse me, Um, I don't think so. He just was on a on a limited basis to day. I wasn't aware if you win in or not, but if he did, it was just limited. And and just just keep the treatment going. Drafted free

agent out here and trying to make the roster. A guy making plays all over the field here, that's want to free this tips last seeds and gating to show us in the separation, did you notice those characteristics of a little bit for a young guy. He's doing really well. You know, big tall targets, got some good speed and at you know, good length and and uh you know, has the occasional drop from time to time. But those

are all things that young players go through. And obviously, you know, the volume of information that we throw at him, you know, also can play a part in what he's doing. But yeah, he's he's really really off to a good start. Look forward to watching them play in these games. And at the second ary, can you just assess the pointerback depth and with you guys like Eric Brow and some of the safeties acting play Janlen Bills, they can played

parterback and and free safety in college. Will those guys have to find roles that will it be specifically winterback and free Yeah. Right now, you're you're seeing a lot of rotations out there. Some coach Schwartz and I talked about getting getting um many players kind of exposed to

different different positions on defense. You know, once we get into the regular season, we'll be a little more um sort of role specific, you know, So right now, you know all those guys are getting getting opportunities at a bunch of spots want to hit, want toil these then a lot of guys getting banged up. Kind of balance that we need at. I just know this football is a contact sport. This is gonna happen. It's gonna happen. And whether it happens today or what happens Thursday night,

it's it's it's part of the game. And and I'm i'm I'm, I'm a big believer. You never shy away from contact. You gotta have contact again, it's a contact sport. And and uh, you know, and we just you just you just keep training the guys, You keep talking to them about protection and and uh, you know, every drill doesn't have to be live. But at the same time, we can still you know, be in position to make tackles and form fit and uh you know, run game offensive lineman. We stay up and we learn to do

it that way and and um becomes assignment football. But you know, again, it's it's part of the game. And we'll we'll continue to you know, um obviously monitor the guys at the same time, won't shy away from the contact. Now I can't I can't if your second guess, you could beat very highly of Windel Smallwood. How important is this time that he's missing, knowing that you want to see what he was like the madazony. Yeah, you know it's tough for a young player, uh and and for

us as coaches to get that that true evaluation. But we know, we know who he is, what he is. We saw a lot this spring the first couple of days of camp. Have a good, good idea, you know. Right now it's a matter of him just getting healthy and getting back on the field and get him caught up. But you know, what we're doing, you know doesn't change much from day to day offensively, so so when he does come back, it's just a matter of you know,

trusting himself and getting him, getting him coached up. He's day to day, it's day to day. You know, we're again, those are two guys are a valuable part and pieces of this football team. And then we'll continue to monitor both of them, but both of them are on track and we'll just you know, we'll uh well, we'll monitor a day to day coach. Any reason why Cosso Wentz is where a day camera on his helmet and the other two quarterbacks on is there any sports step being, No, no,

they can't. We we if you notice too, we do it every day. We put cameras on several guys offensively and defensively, and and just wanted to put it back on him today. And you know, it's just something we just keep keep looking at the film and and it's nothing that we're using right now. Um, it's just something we're as a staff just just seeing if it's beneficial to the players, beneficial to us as an offense or defense. Can be schedule three quarterbacks this so Thursday night we'll

ch schedule to the quarterback rotation. Yeah, you know, it's typical in the first game, you try to get them all in the game. But but I don't have the exact timetable as to how long and and how how many reps each want will get you. Yeah. Time, you know, most of my time has spent on the offense and getting the guys coached up there. But but Jim and I will sit down from time to time and just just uh uh, you know, just talk and see we

see where everybody's at. Plus I'm you know, I'm evaluating the tape so I get to uh, ask questions and and find out more about players and and uh uh just uh, you know, stay in tune with everything that's going on and and and right now, it's a it's a fine line because we're also trying to get everything executed on offense as well, and and so the bulk of my time is still on the offense. He's good. He's good, you know. Again, he's another one that's day

to day. It was good to see him and Ryan both out here get some individual works and group install stuff and and we'll just kind of keep keep progressing with both of those guys. Ryan Matthews specifically, it's it nice to get him out of here for a little bit. You talk running back, I give it. Yeah, it's valuable anytime, anytime you missed, especially the first part of camp when when he hasn't had the exposure to pads. He had

to get him out here and run around. And uh, it was good too, good to see him put the ball in his hands a little bit, see how he was running around, and and um, I thought, I thought he did a did a nice job when he was in there. And and we'll just keep giving him more and more every every day, not really I think he's

doing he's doing a nice job. He's on track, he's learning. Um. You know, again this is that time at camp where you know, we've thrown so much at these young players and all the players that you know, the volume of information UM usually catches up to players to quarterbacks in specific. But he's done a nice job with it. And uh, he's learned to he's learned to kind of categorize everything and keep things relatively simple. Yeah. Yeah, for a young quarterback.

You know, he came he came to us very very knowledgeable of the game. UM. Knowing our system the offseason was was a beneficial because this is this is a repeat of the of the of the spring. We're we're not putting new plays in or anything. Let's just a repeat of what we did this spring. The ship he grafted free agent, somebody step on, well, you know, I look at he's not an undrafted free agent. But Trey Burton has had a nice camp, you know so far.

And I think Paul Turner has been a kid that uh has showed up a little bit on offense and and uh, you know, even even defensively, Destiny has done done a nice job. And the D line position. So there's some young guys that are that are uh giving themselves an opportunity to potentially make the roster. He was not out here today again, he was uh the ankle, you know again, just monitoring him and just want to just want to keep him coming so he's ready for

the regular season. Yeah, you know, we're we're we're exposing ourselves to a lot of different things right now in that In that regard, I think you're gonna see that in the preseason teams trying to kick it higher, trying to land it more on the goal line and try to try to cover and keep keep teams inside the twenty. It'll it'll be interesting, uh you know again with sort of the trial and era through training camp, just how

how this thing's gonna play out going into the regular seasons. Easy. Yeah, normally they're just used to kicking the ball deep in the end zone. It but they both uh both have really worked hard, you know the spring obviously in a camp to try to try to land that ball a little bit shorter. But but the key is also keeping it high, you know for the hang time and and

uh off of a off of a small tea. It's sometimes it can be it can be taxing, but they've they've both done a good job wide receiver for this first week of trying receiver. Yeah, you know, it's it's it's a good group. It's a group that uh uh really prides themselves and making plays and doing the right thing. And Rubin Randall is a guy that's kind of stood out right now. Jordan Matthews was without saying him, he's

he's a player that that works extremely hard. He's obviously the first one in the building, the last one to leave, and and he's just a sponge. He wants to soak everything up. Chris Gibbons, Paul Term, you can go down the line. Every one of them has had has had days where they've made plays and and uh, you just never know who's gonna show up on any any given day. But as a group, they've they've done a they've done a really good jobs. Excuse me, I you know, I do.

I think there's some guys that can stretch the field, but I also think that you do it by scheme. Doesn't always have to be just the fastest guy down the field. Um. And and these guys have uh really embraced you know, what we're teaching. Thanks you guys,
