Where are some of the more remarkable improvements. Yeah, I've seen Tim improved since he got here. He's improved in his throwing motion, improved in uh since we got him in April. You know, I think he's really worked very hard at that um sequencing is his throwing motion. So I think he's been a lot more accurate with his passes.
Something is there a good camp. You know, he's got a big week again this week and uh, you know the guys are gonna play against the Jets, have a big week, so um, you know, anticipate him working real hard like he always has. For the first free game, Cooper hasn't gotten a whole lot of targets or snaps. Is that just a product of he's a veteran you know you've got or the way that's gone while he's been out there, or I just think it's the way
he's gone when he was out there, you know. So it's not We're not We haven't scripted or game planned for any of our first three opponents. Were just colin plays and however they express themselves, they express themselves on Josh Chuff hasn't really seen a lot of work. He's not a veteran. Yeah, Josh had obviously a very personal situation last week with the passing of our dear friends, so that had nothing to do with being a veteran or not a veteran. So but going forward with him,
you know, what's the plan for him? Will play Thirst? We haven't talked about anybody playing anything. We're just gonna go out and train today and we'll take a look at what we got healthwise and then make some adjustments tomorrow with that. I think Andrew has has has played really well here in the preseason, but we haven't finalized anything. Same thing. He's still got a slight growing um. We'll see where he is after tomorrow before we're making any
decisions in terms of what we're doing. Yeah, he should practice today. Would you like to see Keiko play Thursday night? I mean just because you're gonna evaluate everybody after Tuesday session and we'll make a decision on what they're gonna do. So it doesn't mean anything for me to say I want this or that. If someone can go or can't go,
well we'll find out after we're done Tuesday. Yeah, I don't think any in ordinate amount, though I'm not saying person nothing like, what do you see at I've seen improvement from him, you know. I think Taylor's had a really good camp. I think he's he's um, you know, a year older. I think he's really made some plays, a hit, a couple real big plays for us against the Packers in the run game on Saturday. But I think he's improved from a year ago. I'm really happy
where his development is right now. Watching to take from Saturday night, anything on the defensive end in the second third quarter bother you at all in terms of coverage and things like that. No, I just think, well, even with the first group, I think on their touchdown that the one thing that was really concerning for all of us was we had three major penalties on that drive. One of those one of those penalties negated an interception, so um, you know, we got to clean up clean
up that aspect of it. I think there were too many penalties on the defensive side that extended drives. And then a lot of things Billy was doing just in the second half was playing a lot of coverage. Not blit some people. I think we've blissed less than ten percent of the time, you know, trying to see if guys could get home and one on one four man Russias, So just a chance to have really good evaluation for us,
And UM, that's kind of what we saw. How hard is the process for you to get down the fifty to fifty three and how much time you're going to spend just looking it over and agonizing all those decisions. I don't think it's hard because you have a deadline. So it's it is what it is. You know, we talk probably every other day about personnel and each side of the ball, um and special teams. So um, you know, we sit in with our personnel guys and coaches talk
about these individual guys at their positions. So it's it's an every other day thing that we continue to go through. And UM, we'll use our full a lot mint of time here as we go through. We got one more big test this week against the Jets to make that final decision. The cut process itself is the hard part. You know, when you have to tell kids like we did yesterday, Uh, tell players that they're no longer members of the Eagles, I think that's a that's a difficult
part of it. So, but the decisions itself, maybe you find that very difficult to No, I mean you have to make them so you can. You got to make a decision. You have to choose between player A and player B because there's a time when you got to do it. So um, but it's based on the full body of work that they've done since since they've been here. So this is a critical week for a lot of those guys because you got to go from seventy five to fifty three. So we're gonna have to release twenty
two guys um after the Jets game. So Jackson of good job, were having't uh feel real comfortable with him right now? Could be yeah he should. I think he's gonna try to go fishing things today. I think he'll be fine. So he could have gone I know he could have gone back in the game on on Saturday, so that again, yeah, if it was a regular season game, we would have gone back in. I think Marcus Smith is not packing today. You have some tough decisions down
the roster earli wide receiver, etcetera. And you've talked about the reports of special teams. How do you also factor in, um, what they can do in case it's part I mean is that in factor in everything everything factors in. So it's not a he's better than special teams, so he plays. It's you gotta put it. You gotta put it all together, you know, so where if an injury comes about, who
can who can play? Just because the guy's great on special teams, but he can't contribute at another position, can't contribute at that position as a factor also, So it's gotta it's gotta all come into play and we'll put this together. Let's sell sell its value to this offense huge. Um. You know, I think he's underrated in terms of kind of everything he does. I think he may be one
of the best blocking tight ends in the league. But I think when if uh, you know, you saw it, he made a great catch on on the touchdown pass from Sam on uh, you know, going in there in the red zone. I think he's a big target. Um. He's got real good range in terms of UM, if the ball's not exactly thrown on him, he can he can catch it. UM. I think his run after the catch is a little bit underrated. You know, we've hit him on a couple of screens here in the last
two years that he's taken uh pretty far. So UM, I think his his his value is huge here. How much have been it was? I think Trey's done a great job. You know, he's another guy who's in year two. I think he's he obviously stood out early in his career here as a special teams splayer. That's why we kept four tight ends, even though we had you know, Zach and uh plant in James. But you know, Trey
was just an integral special team splayer for us. But we also felt like we could develop him in a m you know, after we release James, and I think you're seeing that. I think he's a he's good with the ball after the catch. Um, he's got really good hands. He has a great understanding of what he's doing, and he's still relatively new to the position because it really didn't play tight end. You know, he played quarterback, played running back, that it played receiver, did a lot of
different things when he was at Florida. But I think he's he's adapted really well to what we've asked him to do. Sure, what were your takeaways from the video that the NFL is sent out regarding the slugs hit. Those are the rules, So if you're handing the ball off, then you could be hit whether you're underneath the center, no matter what run play you have. So it was explained to us you could have your back turn to the defense and if there's potential for you to bootleg
out of it, then you could be hit. So I feel like your interpretationists has changed or their enforcement has changed, and if so, does that alter the way that you think about now it has nothing to do with the play. I think that was the biggest thing we come away from. It doesn't matter what play you're running. It's that if you're handing the ball off and there's a potential that you could keep it on a bootleg or whatever, you can be hit. So those are the rules we'll practice with.
The rules they got giving two quarterbacks consideration or you want to keep Fred, we haven't really discussed that the exact number of anything. We have another we get these two days and then we got the big game against the Jets. Before we start to say I'm keeping four tight ends or three running backs or two quarterbacks or nine dbs, we haven't haven't really got to that point yet. So in four weeks here, what have you seen to see? Um?
You know, I think it took a little bit of a hit when couple was down just because he wasn't involved. So was it tough evaluation of that. UM feel real confident with Walter in and Malcolm. And then I still think we got to figure out who our core, our third and four safeties are. So it's still a big question mark going into um Thursday's game against the Jets.
He did he did? You know? I think they've all they've all shown up at times and and uh, it's just a matter of kind of figuring out which which of that group, UM, we're gonna be able to keep still kind of up in the year. Yeah it is. You know, we got we got time. We got two weeks from today before we play. We'd like to solidify that before we get ready to play a Landa and start to put in our game plan and all that stuff.
But um, there's still some real valuable reps for those for who the fifth dB is gonna be coming up here? So that he didn't really play Nickel. He played outside the other night, so I thought he did some good things. But he also did some things that we can teach him off of fall, but would if he did use it, he would be the guy, right, I mean then he would move. We got a lot of options, so there's not a set option in terms of being able to do that's gonna fail you gun hanging around. Dennis has
been uh, really consistent. I think this has been his best camp, to be honest with you, UM, but he's been really consistent of both guard and tackle. You know, we've used him on the left side, we've used him on the right side. UM, he's got experience. He started in games for us. I'm a big Dennis fan. I think you know, the one thing you know is this is what you're gonna get from every day. There's not a lot of mystic simons. There's not a lot of
mental mistakes out of Dennis. UM. He's always dialed into what he's done. And we've asked him to play, you know, both guards. You've asked him to play both tackles. The only thing he hasn't played to us the center. But I think he's been really consistent and fits in really nice in terms of what we're doing. Gets. I don't know what do you guys give him credit for. Yeah, I mean hent things always he's big, and he's tough,
he's physical, but maybe not the greatest tackle. Yeah, that's not what we say, So you tell me, you guys write it. I don't care. I mean, I don't write things. I think Dennis fits perfectly and what we're doing offensively. So he stared. He said that there's a breakdown on the first two point of the kurage, but you have
to look at the film to see what it was. Yeah, we had penetration up front, you know, so Tim had to cut it back and then we had a nun block guy coming off the backside edge, so um, we got to kind of solidify the penetration up there so we can press it a little bit more longer than the front side. He's been twenty months since he don't played. He played Juice rough and all into really coming bad. Yeah, he's looked sharp in practice, but games in practice are
a little bit different. So you know, we'll see where he is. But you know, we'll hopefully get him back out there and he's just you know, it really been a disruptive force in the run game for uce Um. I think he's been difficult to block in all three of these preseason games, you know, uh, causing a lot of havoc getting penetration into the backfield, disrupting the timing of plays. But I think he's he's played really well. May maybe maybe playing as well as anybody on our
defensive line right now. It's only been a preseason obviously, But your team's out scoring on its fifty two to three in the first quarter, eighte six seventeen in the first half. What does that say about this team? And we scored a lot of points and haven't give him money up. I mean, we're just trying to get better every day and and uh improve as a group, you know, And and it's I don't think people are game planning
for us, nor have we game planned for them. Um, you know, I think we're all trying to get our players to get opportunities on film where you can teach him off of and also make full evaluations of guys. So, um, you know, I'm happy with how we've performed in certain situations. But you know, looking at you know, just specifically our defense the other night, those penalties are you know, if that's a real football game, you have three major penalties on one drive, you know, um, and one that negates
a turnover. You know that that could be the determining factor and win him losing a football game. So there's some real teachable moments that came out of that Packers game for you. One more spot mentioned, yeah, because we're not sure who's going to be healthy for the game. So as you quaite really well the other night. You know, I think he had that one blitz where he hit the a gap on the backside and abably kind of tackled the ball carrier and the quarterback at the same time.
But I think, um, there's certainly the Packers game was his best game to date out of the three preseason games we played. So, um, you know, again a guy that was hurt last fall. Um, you know, once we started the season, you know, he got hurt pretty early. Um, but to come back and starting to kind of hit his stride, so it was really good to see Nigie back out there running around. Was it just a little rust I'm sorry, you're done.
