If you feel physically after Sunday. I resacked a bunch of times, feel any different than any other Sunday. No, you know, I came out feeling pretty good. You know, It's one of those things ever since college. I was used to kind of getting hit almost more in college. So, um, as the season progresses, you kind of get your body starts to get used to getting hitting those sorts of things. So feel feel pretty good. How much is Sam And that was a short period of time, But did you
and were able to learn from him? Yeah? You know, when I first got here, it was good to have Sam and Chase and obviously the coaches, which we've talked a lot about, um, but you know, I really talked with Sam quite a bit and Chase and just really wanted to dive deeper in this offense. And Sam had some good insight on on our offense and then also just you know, he was in the number of systems
as well. So it was really good conversation, really built a good relationship with him, and I'm looking forward to play sense the trade. Yeah spoke, Yes, we haven't this week. It's been a long week already, and I'm sure we'll we'll talk before the game, it'll be cool to go out there and see them again. Or a question but
this one but al heird? Is it a face just a few short time after having traded seeing traded in minnsoda number one, and be be trying to put the two lucks into this because of them, sit'll get sum up that old feod. This is a maybe a stand versus of course the kind of thing or I guess standswer the first part, you know, that's just the nature of this business. You know, that's the NFL. Things happened, guys, Guys get traded. That's kind of just how it works,
you know. And the next one on our schedule. So we're excited to face them. You know, they're they're a good defense, good team. Um, so it'll be a good matchup and we're glad we're getting them at home. Um. The second part of that question, you know, I don't I don't get caught up in that. You know, I don't get caught up in that at all. It's um, it's it's the Vikings versus the Eagles, you know. And then they're coming in here and it'll be a good one.
But of course in the West, a couple of games, you know, the last possessions of the kind of you know, Harry little tough and uh, it's it tougher to make decisions those spots. Um, you know, not really, you know, that's just it comes down to just executing. And um, those are a couple of things. The last two games we just didn't We didn't execute at the end, you know. And to have chances to win latent games and to come up short as an offense, you know, that's frustrating.
You know, I take it a lot of myself. Um, and those are things we go back and look at it and where where could we have made better decisions and things like that. Um, But it's it's frustrating, but I don't think it, um clouds your judgment by any means in those situations. Come back now for two games and hasn't been a real big part of the passing offense. How much of that falls on you to kind of get him involved earlier. Yeah, it's part of what's being called.
It's part of me finding him. It's kind of just, you know, the last couple of games, the flow of the game has been kind of weird, and I think we only threw a twenty two times. Last game we only had eleven completions. So um, really, nobody's getting real involved in a game like that, so um, you know it's something that we definitely noticed, but um, it's it's part of just you know, how the plays are, how
the plays are executed. Like an obvious type of question, but like because of the trade, I mean, do you feel like you're much further ahead in your development than if Salmon's still been here and starting every game and everything that he's sitting and watching. I mean, yeah, without a doubt, out there getting the reps. You know, you're out there playing games, You're getting that experience. That's it's invaluable. You know, those are huge, huge reps and huge opportunities
to grow it from a young, young point on. And I feel like definitely it has helped me for sure. If you think about the trade the development and already think me, that's hard to say, that's the that's the what if game, you know, And I'm very fortunate with where I'm at right now, and you know, going forward to UM, it's been exciting first five games and we're looking forward to hopefully a successful season. At yourself Big Bank.
You first half, What do you say to him this week and how do you talk to him about Yeah, you know, I talked to him before the game and just said, hey, it's just football. You know, it's just foot. You've been playing this since you're a kid. Same thing I kept telling myself, you know when my first start, and um, you know, we thought he settled in nicely. You know, the second half. I thought he went out and did some good things. Obviously the first half, you know,
he was just kind of getting some jitters out. He would probably say the same thing, but I thought he did some really good things in the second half, and um, you know, as an offense, as a team, we have a lot of confidence in him going forward. Defensively, for the Vikings are already good board defensively when you see the stands out stuff. They're fast, you know, they fly around, they play with a lot of confidence. You can tell they're they're coached really well. You know, they have some
some really good schemes. They don't they don't don't do a ton um. You know, they like to mix it up on third downs, but um, you know, they just do what they do and they do it well down But those people, Yeah, I think there's a lot of people back home, mostly Vikings fans, So I think there's a lot of people that will be torn torn watching the game on Sunday back home. Defense is fast is that as a quarterback you kind of have to slow things down and not put down speed things up to
keep up with that. Not really, you know, you don't you don't stress about it by any man, but you can just tell that they play fast, you know, and that's something, Um, we got to just be sharpened, be on point, I think from Sam as far as leadership is concerned than the way it kind of ran, you know, ran the hoddle and everything. Yeah, you know, we talked about, um obviously a lot about the playbook and those sorts of things, but um, you pick up on all sorts
of things. You know. Everyone kind of has their own identity, has their own approach to to being a leader, to being a quarterback. So, um, I definitely soaked up some
things from him as well. He said today that he doesn't want to put too much pressure on you when you're coming off two losses and maybe facing maybe some of the biggest adversity you have faced in your young career, how do you avoid personally putting not putting too much pressure on yourself, you know, forcing a win or trying to force a plight to get it to get a win and back of the car. Yeah, I mean, you don't. You don't get caught up in that, to be honest.
You know, it's the vikings of the next next game on the schedule, you know, and we're excited for it. Obviously, we had two tough losses. We didn't execute the way the way we wanted to, and um, we don't put pressure on ourselves, but at the same time, we play with a sense of urgency that we gotta be better. You know, we gotta be more disciplined, and I think we're setting records with penalties and stuff like that. That's that's never good. You know, we gotta be more dish.
We got to execute better, um, and we know that and we will. We will be there team with Sam on the other side, who obviously knows the offense and can kind of give some tidbits to to his defense. Have you guys changed some verbiage or were cadence things this week? Um a little bit? You know, obviously we've even just when ever since I took over We've had some different things in different intricacies with the offense. Um, but at the end of the day, in the NFL,
there's there's no real secrets with offense. You know, it's just about play calling, it's just about executing. So um, I don't think we'll we'll get too caught up in that. What was maybe one or two of those things you learned from Sam about you picked up from him about leadership to you, H yeah, I don't know anything real specific, but um, yeah, it's one of those things. Again. We all have our own style, you know. I come in, I kind of have my own style how I was
a leader in college and those sorts of things. So um, again, we just all offend to have our own individual personality there talking about what the team needs to do better, what needs to be better. From the politicisisions. I just got to make better decisions, you know. I got to make better aions, Gotta be more accurate, Um, you know, got to get the guys going a little bit better too, you know. Um, some of the discipline things, some of
the penalties. You know, I gotta make sure everyone's focus, you know, I gotta come in that huddle and make sure everyone's locked in and um, those are things that we're just we're always trying to get better at and and I'm my biggest critic of myself, so um, you know, we just got all play better, and it starts with me. There's learning points, Carson, from when the pocket isn't as as clean as you would like it to be, as
just the case on occasion against Washington. You know, any any learn any learning points from that you take away from Washington from when the pocket breaks down on it? Nothing really, you know, it's some of those things. It's can you could you have gotten the ball off? Could you have stepped up? Um? But at the same time, a lot of those things it's just instinct, you know. It's it's from repetition, it's from drill work. Um, so that those points in the game, you know, your instincts
kind of just take over. But um, there's definitely some things you can clean up with footwork and mechanics in the pocket, but a lot of those just come with time. Carson, Zimmer's kind of known for that level that again, look on defense, what typic Culti says that posed Yeah, obviously, you know they're well known for their double a pressures and they like to do different things with it. UM. That obviously poses problems for offenses, but you just got
to go in with a plan, you know. And I think we're UM creating a really good plan and we'll be ready for it. Thank you. H
