Yeah, Well, first of all, that's huge for us. You know, we get a lot of yards, we get a lot of short stuff, you know, kind of bubble screens, some screens, and um, when you got guys like like Darren Sprowles and Josh huff I can really make plays with the ball in their hand, We're gonna find ways to get it to them. Um. And so that's a big part of what we do. And those guys been great and
real explosive when they get those opportunities. So what was the difference between Game three and the first two in terms of protecting yourself? You talked about how you were working on that. Why did it seem to click more in that probably starts with the guys up front. You know, they were unbelievable last game. You know, I don't think I went to the ground more one or two times
just because they brought some pressures. But those guys did a great job, and you know, guys were getting open, so I really didn't have to hold onto the ball too long. And you know, there wasn't many really many plays made made outside the pocket where where that was really an issue. It really came up run where you're into the rant of stick. I mean, what are you thinking in your head? Is that's going? Uh, I want
to get all bounced. I mean I know, um, like like I said, I think in one of the postgame pressors, I'm not I'm not a runner first, but if if it's there, I'm gonna take off. But you know, like like we've talked about, it's something I'm always working on learning how to protect myself. So that was that was prevalent. And um, right there about players on the back, I finally um a little bit. You know, I think everyone back home is just really excited about the success both
of myself, the Eagles, um, the Bison. You know, everyone's just kind of um fired up back there. So it was a lot of really you know, well received. Um. I mean people back there support the heck out of me and support the heck out of um like I said here and the and the Bison. So um. But it was all it was all really good. And you know, I'm very cautious about taking too much praise. You know, I realized it's only three games and we got a
long way to go. Person Earlier today, Coach Peterson said that you maybe later in the season he would hold more design runs. Is that something that you would like to see in the offense? Um? You know what kind of is what it is? You know so far? You know, I can't complain about the play call, you know, I think it's been tremendous and um, he's done a really good job of putting us in good situations to make plays and I trust that he will the rest of the year as well. Any of those did you get
when you were at Nouth Dakota State design player runs? Um, it's probably about eight to ten a game, you know, usually it was probably pretty standard. So um, so yeah, there's so much excitement surrounding you and this team. The first two weeks you said you were able to stay focused because you're basically in the building, you're having some tunnel vision. When you get away from for the week and you go back home and you're around friends, family,
other people, and then you try to come back. How much does it take and how much of a challenge is it for you to now refocus and get locked back into ball. For me, it's really easy. You know. We got that bye week, we got you know, kind of renew our mind to get away from the game, see some friends and family and UM. But you know, towards Sami, the week has kind of open, had a
bit to get back here. You know, I was ready to go and UM for me, once we're here and once we're in football mode, it's real easy for me to be locked in a pretty legitimate play the first time. Now, how different off That's huge, you know, having arts back UM. I mean, you guys all know the way he can make some plays, in the way he gets open and Um traded a tremendous job stepping up for him and Sellek.
You know, he's been the same guy for what eight nine years now, So UM, having all three of those guys being able to make plays and the things that they all kind of bring to the table, that's huge for us. You're not only just watching your own film, but also film up other quarterbacks when it comes to taking hits and avoiding hints and that kind of thing. Are they putting that on a reel for you to
watch each week? Not really? You know, it's one thing you know that even goes back to pre draft and everything. It was something I was starting to kind of study a little bit myself. You know, you don't put a lot of time into it. But you know when you watch other teams, you watch tape, you're like thinking, Okay, how could he avoided that? How could he have um, you know miss made that guy miss or got out
of bounds and those types of things. So it's something I've been been doing a little bit for a while now, particular that you've watched, because they have a similar type style in terms of how they handle that. Yeah, you know, I think I think Russell Wilson does a really good job of protecting himself. You know, he's he's obviously makes plays with his feet. Um, Cam Newton takes some shots
here and there. But I thought, you know, last year he was a guy that um, I always thought he did a good job with all the design quarterback runs of just protecting himself and taking the shots, you know, very sparingly. Game manager is local pot as a negative thing by self, but I mean obviously part of his plaine e fishing football, which are doing keeping the ball out of arms way, taking what the defense gives you. You could take the deep shots. Do you think that
term applies when someone watches your play? Yeah, I mean, you guys can call it however you want. You know, it's just about executing. You know, we got the plays that are called, and um, we're gonna take our chances when when they're there, and we're gonna you know, just chip away and stay on the field. And um, I think so far we've done a really good job of that really good balance of short stuff, underneath stuff, quick stuff and then taking shots when they're there solid photo.
Uh yeah, you know, I just saw a bunch of friends and family. You know, it has spent some good time, got you know, a couple of workouts in and everything, and um, it was really it was just really good, you know, really good to be back there, see a lot of people and uh, um get out and go hunting and all that. So it was a good time. Yeah, Carson, what do you see reading back him as far as his comfort level with this offense, You know, he keeps
getting better every day. You know, that's something huge ever since he came in. Obviously he was a little behind, um behind the playbook installation and everything coming in when he did. But you know, he's done a great job
of just picking things up. I've been very pleased with him, and um, he's a guy that we keep getting more and more involved, whether you see it on Sundays or not, he's he's getting more and more involved, and he's doing a really good job picking everything up right back to him against Pittsburgh after the drop for a nineteen yard completion. I mean, was that important to to let him know that? Absolutely?
You know, whenever there's a drop or a play like that, I always go right up to the guy and I say, hey, it's coming right back to you. You know I have I have a lot of belief and a lot of confidence in all of these guys around here, So I'm just keep it positive. You know, no one wants to drop a ball. They ain't doing it on purpose, so um, really just stay positive with them and tell them it's
coming right back. And sure enough, that's what happened. The best Detroit to what you guys had here for you to see the laying tons that help you there. Yeah, yeah, it is similar. You know obviously going against our defense and OTAs and training camp. Um, we'll give us a big advantage there. But you know they're good d you know, they like to fly around, and we know we'll be in their building, they'll be they'll be playing fast. It'll
be a loud environment. Um, so you know, we know they present some challenges and play fast, but we just got to execute. When you have a week off, did you have any moments during your off time where you set yourself. I can't believe what I've done to start in my career. I mean, this is pretty amazing. There's been awards coming in left and right for you. Did you have a moment like that at all? Not really, No, I mean I really just get away from the game
and I don't think about those things. And like I said, I'm real cautious about all those things. You know, it's only been three games. You know, we got a lot of work to do, and um, coming back after the bye, we're basically around here're saying it's a new season. You know, we're zero and zero, and you know we've got to win every ruin every day, you know, to dealing with crowd Douay's, especially at the Dome. Yeah, it'll be the same approach as we took in Chicago. You know, we
just we got to use some silent celt mix it in. UM, really be sharp on our rules and our communication up front, and UM, you know, I thought we did a really good job of that in Chicago, and I'm looking to do a good job of it in Detroit. What was your favorite down It's been very fun. You know, I'm playing ball and I'm you know, out there with these guys. Um. You know, I just love every part of this game, you know, the preparation coming in here, um every day
and being around these guys. There's there's not many things that I'd rather do in the world. So, UM, it's been a lot of fun and I'm glad things are have turned out the way they have. What was your what was your favorite thing about the buy? What did you do back in North Dakota that you really have been hoping you could? Are you going hunting? You know, getting out there? My brother was with me. Um, you know, getting that buck with the bow. It was just a
lot of fun. And it's doing that and you know seeing seeing some family and friends. UM, that's always huge. So so it was a lot of fun. And you know, now it's one of those things though it's it's thirteen straight weeks and hopefully more, um, and we're ready to go the game. Did people treat you differently, Um, you know, pretty much the same as always. You know, obviously people are aware of what's happening. I think I saw a few more Eagles jerseys in the crowd than I think
I ever have. Um, but now everyone's real, real passionate about, you know, Eagles football myself and buysing football, so um, it was really cool to be back there, and especially for those guys to get that wins. Everybody
