The performance of the first teams and the relationship between how they play in the preseason and regular season as far as your experience, right well, Um, in reference to last week, I think, you know, we want to get off to a faster start, and we're accustomed to doing that, and uh, you know that's part of going through the preseason process. And um, we've pointed that out and the guys understand that, and and no, we want to try to get done here this week seem like how do
you balance value? Right? Well, We've got a lot of confidence in v as our left tackle, and we know what he's capable of doing and how well he can play. And like you said, he admitted that, Um, you know, last Thursday night was not his best game, and we're certainly confident that he's going to bounce back might with Carson back in the team drills U splitting the first nights, how difficult is that to try to get somebody right
for September six? A certainty to try to get somebody ready In terms of splitting with Nick right now, Um, you know, fifty fifties pretty easy to split. So those guys are splitting the reps and it's good to have Carson back in the huddle. Uh, for sure. And it's just part of the plan that you know, coach and um everybody in the building has laid out and everybody's
on the same page with it. I think it's it's good to see Carson in there, and I think, you know, particularly in light of Thursday night's good for Nick um to uh to be able to share those responsibilities right now too. UM So right now and preseat, you know, getting ready for our third preseason game, UM doesn't present any conflict or any particular challenge in terms of getting
those guys ready to play. UM. Nick's got in a lot of reps the course of training camp happened, and like I said, it's just kind of introducing Carson back into the team work perspective. Carson says, it's why you know, right well, you make a good point. I don't think we're gonna push it. We're gonna listen to the doctors and the medical team and they'll make that determination. So uh, if he's clear, he's clear. And uh, you know, once you say you're cleared, you're cleared, you're ready to go.
It's not like you're cleared butt um. You know, so until when they give us a green light that he's cleared, then then uh, you know, we know that it'll be time to really get him, ramp it up and get him ready for the games. I assume that it has very as far as you're having a quarterback coming back from from the injury. I mean, if the doctors have said he's ready to play, I mean, it doesn't restrict
you at all. No, I wouldn't know. I think, you know, like like we said, when he's clear, he's ready to go. He's out there practicing. You know, all our plays that we don't have any restrictions in the play calls um in practice. So he's doing the things that we'd asked him to do and in the games, and and he's
getting ready to do that. We're talking about chemistry, a love between the quarterbacks and receivers haven't been able to practice, also been market A bunch of guys have pic is do we overvalue that at this point where it would be hard to put an exact value on it. But certainly that's one of the reasons why we're out there, is so that everybody can can work together and find that continuity and um, you know, that's been challenging with
with different guys missing time here and there. So you know, we just that's not an excuse. So we just you know, guys are out there, the guys that you know, we're expecting a lot of a lot of good things from and they got to raise the level of their performance and that you know there's opportunities that come with that, right. UM, I don't think there'll be a learning curve. You know,
they've worked together a lot. Just we have to get everybody back integrated in the offense and um, it'll be it'll be exciting to see everybody in that first team model again. Well, you know, Shelton's made some place for us the last couple of weeks, which is exciting to see. It's good for him, Um, certainly good for his confidence and uh, you know he knows what we're asking him and continue to work on and continue to improve on.
So he's focused on those things and UM, you know, please with his progress really throughout this training camp, he's been diligent and come come to work each and every day and needs to content excuse me, to continue to work on the things that we've asked him too. And if you'll do that, then you know, I think he'll continue to show up in the games. Um, I guess you would probably have to ask those guys. But you know, like I said, it's nice to see him back out
there for sure for all of us. UM. You know, he certainly brings an energy to practice and and even in the rain yesterday, it was it was good to see him out there throwing and that was a good situational deal for us on offense, I have to have the products out there in the rain. Hadn't happened very often. Um, so that was good for us to have to experience that. Earlier this summer was talking about the offense and the approach.
They said, when you want to do as many multiple things as you guys do, you need to look similar You seem to have the kind of team versatility offensively to do that. I mean running backs that can do multiple things, seeps that can do you can line up anywhere. I mean, how much of a challenge is that and how much how helpful is it with this route to be able to not to well, yeah, we have to have plays off plays to protect you know, the core
things that we like to do each and every week. Um, you know that's part of the challenge, like you guys have asked already, is um in order to do that, the guys need to be out there. So UM, you know that that's part of the challenge that we face
right now if guys missing time. But UM, you know, we're very aware of what we want to get done and the things that you know, we think that we need to be able to do to present different looks to the defense, and um, try to get the guys in the spots where they do things really well and uh and remain multiple and continue to challenge of defense. So UM, there are some things that you have to balance obviously when when guys aren't out there, and um,
we're just hopeful that they'll be back soon. You know, some of I think are close to being back. A lot of guys body back as well, especially for how important easy to get a live reps at that position because there's not a lot of a lot of periods of training camp, right, that's a fact. Well, I think that you know, they're getting the bulk of their live reps in the games. Um, we only have a couple
of live periods for other courts of training camp. So the bulk of that stuff is coming in the games and you know, if they're not out there, they're missing that time. And really you just got to emphasize the ball security aspect for him. Um, they know the plays, they know the keys that they're reading and how to fit. So uh, they're getting those looks in practice and we just got to emphasize the ball security, which they've been good with. Dus does a great job of that. Uh.
He's got great short area quickness, he really does. And he instinct that rail Ronnery as strong hands and um, you know he's he's Uh he's picked up the system quickly and uh and and earned the trust I think of the quarterbacks and being where he's supposed to be when he's supposed to be there. So, um, he's worked hard. He got back to we talked about for obviously Jason reserve reason played that much or anything. Um, I'm sorry with somebody injured. You asked Jordan, No, Jordan wasn't injured.
Jordan got at the end of the game played you know that last series. Um, it was just a decision that we made to keep those guys in there. And um, you know Bee was taking the first end of the second team reps. So you know, he did, Like you said, he did end up playing a lot more plays in the game, but felt like it was valuable playing time for him. Jordan's progress, we're pleased with his progress. You know, two weeks ago, play his first football game, so we're
really pleased with his progress. Uh, you know, he's he's doing everything that Stout's ask him to do. Um some of these things. You know, the first time is the first time for him, and uh, you know, he's got to learn from those experiences and then just continue to bank him and continue to get better each and every day. But his technique's gotten better, and it's not for lack of want to or try, and he really is a tentip to every detail and it's just trying to catch
up to the game. Does V play the whole game? No, we haven't determined that right now. Not like I said, we haven't had that discussion right now. Nice guys,
