You know, it's it's hard. Well, it was tough when when things kind of started to spiral. Um, I will tell you this, the guys continue to battle, continue to fight, a lot of resiliency in this group. Um, even battle through some of the injuries, some of the lost players today. But you know, the mistakes that were made against good, fault good football teams, you just can't you just can't do. Where do we go from here? You know what, we come to work on Tuesday and we roll up our
sleeves and we go to work. And uh, this group is committed to that. And I'm excited for this next few a few games that we have coming up. Listen, Um, you know, we can only control what we can control. I tell this these guys all the time, and and uh, we're gonna we're gonna come to work on Tuesday and we're gonna prepare. We got the giants coming in town, and uh, we're excited for that opportunity. Well, you know, I guess what's a little surprising is is the amount
of injuries keep piling up. And and that's that's something that you just it's hard each week to you know, uh, to overcome. But you know, again. You know, it's something that we've put ourselves in this position. And um, you know, it's a it's a it's a one game, one game season each week. Uh and and and you know I trust, I trust every coach, every player, uh the front office that we're gonna get this fixed. And and we're gonna you know, it starts with me, um and uh, we
gotta do it, you know, hurry. We basically what I said, UM, I told them not to hang their head. I told him that we're gonna come to work this week. We got a we got a great opportunity in front of us. We're gonna stay committed. UM. I asked them to that I'm gonna I'm gonna lead this football team and follow me and uh. Um to every man in there, they they they embrace that. They understand that they're gonna you know, obviously we're held accountable to the way we played today. UM,
but we're gonna look at the tape. We're gonna fix the mistakes and get ready for New York. There's always that fear, UM, But I didn't sense that with our group, not at all. UM. I walked around that locker room on offense and defensive side, and to every man, just told them, don't hang their head. Let's go. You know, we're we're you know, we're obviously uh in a in a rough spot right here. But I believe in believing those players, believing those coaches, and we'll get it fixed
in the first half. Score a lot of points in this game. Yeah, I mean, there were some opportunities to do that. Um, and and elected two punt just just uh, you know, try to try to flip the field a little bit and have some field position. And uh, um, I knew, I knew it was a game we're on. There were gonna be some opportunities to do that, and and uh we you know, just just and get it done pretty much, no as they should. We gotta play ball.
I mean, listen, you know, it's football, and uh you know, uh, if they're gonna you know, if you we gotta tack, they're gonna run it, we gotta tackle it. If they're gonna throw it, we gotta defend it. So not at all, Um, it's football. And uh I think if it was flipped the other way, we do the same thing. Excuse me, Yeah, I mean, it's it's uh obviously, um, they're explosive. Um, they're dynamic. They're they're playing, they're they're playing with a
lot of continuity right now. They're they're in sync. And and it obviously it starts with with Drew and the way he handles the team in the offense. And um, it's hard to get to him. Number one, balls out of his hand quite quite uh quickly. And um, you know as as as a person that played the position and obviously you know, passionate for the sport. Um, it's it's pretty special to watch somebody like that from Afar. Well,
what happened. We had a we had a shot play called down the field, um, and uh, he was on al Sean's side. The safety actually rolled over the top and I think, I think, I think Wiz just got beat inside and then so the pressure was right on him real fast before he hits the ball out. It's a three step drop out of the shotgun, so it's fast. It's just the protection broke down a little bit on that play. Yeah, that part of the message that it
is still just one game. I mean, maybe the score was out of hand and you didn't want to be that way, but exactly right, you know, I'm not looking past this week at all. Um, we obviously have to uh you know, own own this game today. We got to own our jobs and U you know, we gotta get better obviously, but it's uh, it's it's a one game, one game in the time mentality, and we can't look any any further past that. A lot of those obviously, the secondary corners in particular on top of Sea. You know,
it's tough. It's tough. I mean, it's you know, um, you know, we we we you put it together, you piece it together. We you know, we we brought guys up off the practice squad you know, this week to elevate their play and get them in the game. And you know, it's it's hard when you're going against a you know, a Hall of Fame player and Drew and the weapons I have on offense. It's it's a difficult task. But uh, you know again, we're not gonna hang our
heads and we're gonna keep keep fighting guys. Sports, Well, that's the thing. I mean, you gotta stay on the field, and you gotta find ways to stay on the field. Um. You know, first play the game, we had a negative, negative rush there and then um, um, I believe the second second play was I was incomplete and we had a third down, third and eleven. I mean, it's just as hard to start games that way. And uh, um shot our foot early and and uh never really never
really kept you know, regained it after that. Looked like they were up there was supposed to be on the
field that time. What was happening there still point Yeah, I mean you know that obviously starts with me and getting the personnel in the game and and uh my communication with with the assistant coaches on the sideline and making sure we have a couple of personnel packages where really there's no running back on the field and uh, you know, we're trying to get that personnel in the game and and uh, um, you know starts with me, I'll do better. Uh you know, I think I think
it's just uh, you know, each man, Um. You know, we got to look at ourselves and and and see if we're you know, we're just out of sync offensively number one. Um, And and we got to get back to some continuity, whether you know it's it's more quick throws, screens, you know, whatever it is to kind of kind of get things going. You'd love for your run game to
get to be established. And you know, obviously playing teams like this, I mean you get down so fast, so early that it's that you feel yourself having to maybe throw just a little bit more to get in into uh into the game. But we're gonna take a look at it, we'll evaluate it, continue to work, and then get fixed. Never never, once, you can't you can't press, you can't come out going Okay, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, you know, I'm gonna, you know, try to make a play.
You know, it's this, this game, this game has enough plays to be made, and and so the message and the messaging too, the team is listening. Sense of urgency is this, when the play comes to you, just make the play. Just just make the play, Carson, if you get an opportunity to make the you make a play. All Set, you make a play, Malcolm, you make a play, Fletcher, you make a play. And and sometimes you just don't go looking for you know, you just don't go looking
for them when they come make them. And that that's been the message. And uh, I felt like early that you know, we kind of had that rhythm. But um again, just uh, you know, we got to continue to focus on each play at the time. Carson's all right, thank you guys. Just with Carson's to the right place.
