And thirty four to twenty seven your final score. Nigel Browden with the interception in the end zone to ice it as the Eagles steal one on the road at Green Bay. What a game, Mike, What do you? What are you? Let's just start your process at this roller coaster. We've had a couple of roller coaster games for the Eagles here that we've been discussing on the postgame show presented by Rico. That's what you're watching right now. And the Eagles come out with a w and this one.
Good feelings all around. Yeah, it finally feels good to be on this side of the close games. We know how many close games this team has been in over the last year plus, games that they played in and we've often come up on the wrong end of those games. So it's great to see them tonight have a gut check win and be able to pull this game out amy a roller coaster game. You knew it wouldn't be easy going up the lambeau Field taken on Aaron Rodgers.
They want to give you everything that they had tonight, trying to get to four. No, but the Eagles would not give in to this game tonight. Big plays at the big plays and key moments, And how about that defense, under man, how many guys can you lose from that side of the football and still be able to field a serviceable defense? And they were able to do that tonight, even after losing two of their cornerbacks tonight in Avonte Maddox late in the game, certainly hope that he's okay.
Lost Sydney Jones to a hamstring earlier in the game. I mean, who else was left? I was getting pages saying do I have any type of energy left in mode legs? And see if I could go out the brain bay pages. I'm sorry, what year is it? But yeah, I'm not totally serious from my point, that's that's how crazy this game is. We saw a couple of really impressive goal line stands from the Eagles defense again against Aaron Rodgers, who just is never a quarterback, who he's
never completely out of it. They always have a chance and super impressive, especially to see at the end there that interception by Nigel Bradham to it but on the heels of Avante Maddox going down, very scary play. The team comes out rallies around him, he gets he goes off on a stretcher and this team responds on the goal line with this interception. To Isa, let's get into
your takeaways, take me through them. Well, I'll tell you the first thing I tell you away from this game is how the offensive line played to night, whether it be in the past game, but especially in the run game, close to two hundred yards rushing by far, the best running game of the season for this offense. Whether it was Jordan Howard with his three touchdowns a night running in between the tackles, Mole Sanders being able to show some of that explosiveness and display why they drafted him
in the second round. Just a great job. I think Carson may have been sacked once to night if that wasn't under a whole lot of pressure. They did an awesome job the offensive line and then the running game, the way they were able to just pound that football whenever they wanted to, to take advantage of this Packers defense, this vaunted Packers defense. Love the fact that that was part of the game plan coming in. Run the football
on these guys and they stuck with it. And to me, that was the key to them winning this football game and night because they were able to control that clock. We saw Aaron Rodgers does not need a lot of time out there on the field to score, so you needed to possess the ball as much as you could. Well, and like you said, very balanced. They had where is it, one hundred and seventy six rushing yards, one hundred and
sixty yards through the air, so very balanced. A little bit more towards the run game, which is kind of that ideal formula that Doug Peterson likes to go to, and he hasn't been able to rely on the run game last season and kind of the beginning of this season, you're really starting to see those guys get going. A career night for Jordan Howard with the three touchdowns that ties a career best for him, and then you saw Miles Sanders with a career high as well. I think
he had almost eighty yards. I can tell you about two seconds. What about your second takeaway, Well, I'll tell you the way Carson Wentz looked tonight, taking what the defense gave and you knew that the numbers in a big place through the air wouldn't necessarily be there all night, but they needed to take advantage of the opportunities when it presented itself and the Eagles were basically flawless in the red zone tonight, and a lot of them had to do with the passing in the red zone to Night,
able to get down the field, big throws on third down. Great to see al Sean back in the game. Had a couple miss miss throws with al Sean. But for the most part, I love the fact that Carson didn't force anything to night, didn't feel the pressure to put everything on his back and sort of make plays. Took the plays when they were there. Loved the way that he controlled this offense and went to the running game.
Didn't have a problem relying on that running game. So several times where he checked to a run where it may have been a pass play called he checks and see if there's a six man seven man box advantage, Eagles, they run the ball. Just a great job of him quarterback in the offense tonight. No turnover so which is a key, three touchdowns, no interceptions for Carson, wentz one hundred and sixty yards through the arragain relying on that run game and being able to rely on that run game.
What about your last takeaway and then this is a total team effort tonight. Aimy two tough losses. This team is coming off of so much negativity on the outside surrounding this team, season seemingly hanging in the balance. Here on this game tonight, a short week on the road, this was a must win game. Coaches don't like to use that, especially when you're talking about game four in the season, but I gotta tell you, it felt like
the Eagles had to win this game tonight. They were under man This was a gut check win tonight, coming off the way that last game ended against the Lions, where you felt like you left a golden opportunity out there on the field to win the game. On a short week on the road, going up in a tough place against an undebeated team, against a team that's given up the second most points in the league this year.
They go up there put up thirty four points. It really was and all around effort offense, defense, special teams. Now Sanders with the big kickoff return to sort of jump start this offense. They needed all hands on deck for this game tonight. Doug Peterson with another great game call for his players and really getting these guys locked in and ready to go to night, Yeah, handing the Packers their first loss of the season. Green Bay had only allowed thirty five points in their first three games.
They allowed thirty four to the Eagles tonight. And we know this was a very exciting game for the Eagles. I'm sure it was really exciting for Merrill Reese and Mike Quick. We're gonna take a look at Merrill cam. I'm sure this is gonna be a good one here. Let's take a look, Okay, him later hopefully, let's continue with Let's add some more takeaways to the list. We have the Big three, some of mine here. Let's talk about Look, having Alshon Jeffrey back in the offense huge
for the Eagles. And you mentioned a couple of miss throws their weather. That was Carson Weather, that was Alshana. That was great defense. Combinations of the three, right, But considering just having him back on the field and having Dallas Goddard back on the field, how much that opens things up and just gives Doug Peterson so many more options. It's huge, amy because now al Sean is going to
take attention away from a guy like zach Ertz. That's why zach Ertz was able to have the night that he had tonight, big catches for Zach on third down al Shan, we know what he can do in the red zone, scoring the first touchdown of the game. It's just an added weapon to this arsenal that's gonna make it difficult for defense to defend. You must account for when number seventeen and Zette had some big catches on third down to night. Also adding a guy like Dallas
got it in there. Maybe didn't show up as much in the passing game, had a few catches, but he was huge in the run game. The Eagles love to go to their twelve personnel package right two tight ends, two receivers with one running back that allows them to run to football and most of their big runs tonight came out of their twelve personnel package. Okay, so Miles Sanders, the rookie running back, has a career night. It is very long Eagles career, seventy two yards on eleven carries.
But what really stood out to me was you seen the difference that time has made. Kid seemed like he kind of took a step forward in his abilities there and some of the things that people have been critical of was won the ball security that was not an issue tonight against the team that takes away the ball the most in the entire NFL. Eagles really took care of that tonight, which was my key to the game. And for Miles Sanders, you wanted to see more of that north and south, a little bit less of the
dancing side to side. What did you see from him tonight in terms of his progression another game under his belt in the league, Well, the first thing that I was impressed with is his ability to block out what happened in the last game. Right, you know, you have a couple fumbles in that game, your confidence maybe shaking a little bit. You knew that Jordan Howard was going to be part of his game planning night, but I loved that Miles Sanders didn't allow that to rout him
at either. What he did was it accepted the challenges, said, when I get my opportunities, I'm gonna make the most of them. And I can't remember on any of those eleven carries tonight where he didn't get positive yards. So and he had a couple of nice explosive plays. They're setting the Eagles up in great field position and then
being able to contribute on special teams as well. I talked about his kickoff return when the Eagles first two drives stalled and the Packers are up tending to nothing, and you're saying to yourself, we must get points on this next drive or wearing trouble to have Mouse Sanders come out and that kickoff return team, to have that big special teams play to set up the first touchdown. I thought that was huge for this offense to get them going. So kudos to the rookie for being able
to bounce back from a tough game last week. And listen, the coaches said they aren't going to bury him on the bench. They still have full confidence in him, but they wantn't even know tonight. There is someone behind you that will take advantage of the opportunity if you don't. And that's nothing wrong with great competition in your room, nothing wrong with having a veteran in front of you like Jordan Howard sort of to motivate you. So I look for big things from Mouse as you move forward.
Once he gets over the whole ball security thing, you see why they drafted him in the second round. There's explosiveness a couple times in the open field. I know Deuce had talked to him about being able to make one of those guys missing the open field. But it was a great bouseback game for the young guy. Yeah.
And speaking of Jordan Howard, like we said, he had a three touchdown night, which ties a career high for him, but also the first running back to record three offensive touchdowns in a single game for the Eagles since Lashawn McCoy in two and eleven. What did you see from Jordan Howard tonight? Two rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown getting things going in the passing game as well. There are a lot of questions before he came here about is he good in the passing game? Howard his hands.
Since he's been here, I think he's been pretty good in the passing game, he really has. I think what you saw tonight amy as a guy who's been chopping at the bit for his opportunity, right, he's been. He's been chopping at the bid to have the coaches trust him and give him an opportunity to run downhill. And what I'm learning by watching Jordan Howard is is that he gets better the more carries you give me. He's not somebody, He's not like a Mole Sanders, who's a
quick flash type of running back. He's a guy that once he leans on you after a few carries, he's gonna start to wear you down. And that's what you notice. And you also don't see a lot of hesitation when Jordan Howard goes. When he does hesitate, it doesn't tend to end well for him. But when he gets that ball and his shoulder pads or square to the line of scrimmage and he can go north and south, he can run with the best of him in his league. Reminds me of La Garrett Blunt when we had him.
Not as much of a bruising back as La Garrett Born was, but once you get him going north and south and he gets behind those shoulder pads, he's tough to bring down. I saw a lot of that comparison on Twitter throughout this game, the Lag Garrett that you know, reminding Eagles fans of La Garrett Blunt. Let me remind anybody watching that we are going to be waiting for coach Duck Peterson to take the podium. Carson wants to take the podium. Here their thoughts in the game, that'll
be right here. So hang with us as we're waiting for those guys. In the meantime, we're going to keep breaking it down. Let's go to the defense really really put pressure on Aaron Rodgers and we saw, you know, there were injuries in the secondary and Aaron Rodgers of course able to get things going in the passing game, but the front, the front, this Eagles front really was
able to throw him off his game. One sack, two quarterback hits and just really was able to get the pressure on him and kind of throw him off as he continues to deal and the Eagles just kept coming. Yeah. I had like a blackout moment today, Amy on my show right during the March and re show, and I basically challenged the Eagles defensive line to get after Aaron Rodgers tonight. This guy is virtually untouchable. He gets rid
of the ball so fast. So you're taking credit for their success in well, well, the point what the deepest of line they need to step up. Let's go the deepest of line needed to step up and have an impact on this game. You're undermanned on the back end, they're even undermanned up front. But the only way you're going to affect this packer offense is to get to Aaron Rodgers, and it's difficult to do. There are defenses that scheme they blitched. You got to sort of play
a chess game with Aaron Rodgers, mixing things up. Love the fact they were able to get to him. Didn't have a ton of sacks on him, but they moved him off of this spot. They made him tuck the ball, he had to run a few times. He made some plays outside the pocket, but they got hits on him. They got a sack of forced fa balling, and they were able to get an interception off of him. This is a guy who doesn't turn the ball over very often, and to get two turnovers off of him, that was
huge tonight. Yeah, and Aaron Rodgers still able to throw for four hundred and twenty two yards in this one, and yet the Eagles defense still able to I got to correct myself. You may as well say you got three turnovers off of him, because if you stop him on downs, which they did. They stopped him at the goal line, they tried to throw the ball in there. They made him turn the ball over. That's as good
as a turnover to me. When you stop Aaron Rodgers from inside the five yard line and they don't score. They were able to do that twice the night, once on downs and once by getting an interception to seal the game. That's big time. Yeah, I'm curious to see how often that happens with Aaron Rodgers I mentioned earlier. We gotta see Merle resent my quick Merrill camp tonight is gonna be so good. We have it ready for you. Take it away, Meryl. It is uned over end. It
is taken by Sanders. He's coming out at five ten fifteen, twenty twenty five, thirty thirty five forty, but his feet had been field forty five forty and all the way down to the Packers thirty five. There is a pulse. Fell I think they're breathing. Wentz looking looking fires complete touchdown. He's got his man out, Sean Jeffrey Rogers goes back. He's setting up, he's head. He fumbles the football and the Eagles have it. The Eagles have it on top
of the football. It's Brandon Graham. Brandon Graham came up with the football. They stripped Aaron Rodgers, Eric Burnett, Merrill coming off the edge. He's so quick off the football. He wins with speed on the edge and gets the football out. Aaron Rodgers didn't even get time to cock his arm and as you said, Brandon Graham coming up with the record. That is the reverse of the Super Bowl where Graham stripped Tom Brady and it was born in. Yeah, Wentz and the gun again, Howard to his right. Wentz
goes to Howard. He's heading for the touchdown and made it look easy. He went and standing up. That's where you want to go with the football. You get down close, there's no sense being fancy. Hit him in the mouth going to the end zone for the touchdown. In his second and two, Wentz and the gun again. He swings it out to Howard at the fifteen ten five touchdown. Nobody on the other side with Jordan Howard and he ran untouched into the end zone. What a great play call.
Kim goes to Sanders off the left, Sidett forty five midfield, cuts back, takes us in the forty five yard line. That is what you have and biles Sanders. Wentz gives the high Howard spends He's in touchdown. Eagles for game the lead. Who's strong. He was hit at the one and they couldn't contain him. He just muscled his way past Tyler Lancaster into the end zone. Too strong, get your weight up, fourth and goal. Roger's back, he's looking,
he's being chased, he's directing traffic. He finally fires it and it tain't complete. Graham couldn't bring it in, and what a goal line stand. The Eagles take over. Rundowns Roger's back, He pumps, he fires and is intercepted. On the deflection intercepted, Eagles have the ball. Nigel Brandham out across the twenty and this game is as good as over. Oh my goodness, it does not get better. Oh my gosh,
I'm gonna have to watch that fifteen more times. Brand Juffy joined in us here on the postgame show presented by Rico Frand. A lot to unpack here. Initial thoughts before we get into some of the details here. I mean, guys, just an unbelievable Eagle win, right, I mean, you have so much going on on all three sides of the ball. You have the big kick return to kind of get things going for the Eagles offense, big plays on defense, a number of big stops like you talked about it
turnovers on downs, Ben, but don't break defense. You don't allow them to have a lot of success in the red zone. And then offensively, I mean this run game, the twelve personnel sets the way that the Eagles were able to attack this Green Bay defense, which has been so stout through the first three games. To me, I mean, I don't know where to start with this breakdown. I cannot wait to dive from the film to well, I think that you might. You start with twelve personnel probably
your favorite thing. I think if we're gonna do like a bingo on this show, we're gonna make like twelve personnel is going to be like one of our one of our things. But that we saw a lot of that tonight and not do and you talk about how valuable that is for the Eagles. But I think one thing that stood out to me was how we saw Zach Ertz's production go up this week from last week. Because you have Dallas Goddard on the field, Alashan Jeffrey on the field, he has less attention from that defense.
What did you see that you really want to break down in the film this week? Yeah, I mean the way that they were able to get Dallas Goddard in CORPD not just in the run game, but then also in the passing game. I mean some of the things they're able to do to kind of free up zach Ertz.
Alshon Jefferies presence certainly helped that. When you go back and look at the film last week, Detroit did a lot to try and take away zach Ertz, a lot of double teams in the middle of the field, bracketing him with safeties and with linebackers doing lots of things to take him out of the progression. For Carson Wentz. Now you add in Alshan, you add in Dallas got you get to Sean bat Sean Jackson back. Now we're cooking with gass here for an Eagles offense. The officsive line, right,
you know, they certainly did a great job tonight. Just talk about Isaac sam sam Malo, the way he bounced back. He's been under a low scrutiny for his blocking. I thought they carried over what they were able to do against Detroit into this game. But the offensive line really controlled the line of scrimmage to night. Well, like you know, I mean that offensive line they thrive on those four
minute drills right. Everyone knows what the two minute drill is, and you know you're trying to run the hurry up offense. Let's try and score a touchdown getting to the end zone. Four minute drill, you're doing the opposite. You're trying to bleed the clock down, run as much time off the clock as possible, and you're gonna need to run the football when the When the Eagles needed to run the ball, green Bay could not do anything to stop them. And
that's a credit the offensive line. You saw great double teams at the point of attack, Sayamalu, Kelsey Brooks, Peter's lane, the tight ends were involved. It was a full team effort. I can't wait to dive into the film. The fact that the Eagles were able to just run it down their throat against the green Bay defense. We have not seen them. Let this happened this season that we talked about it in the pregame show. Their defense has been what has won their games for them this year. A
different type of green Bay team. The Eagles able to run it down their throat, rely on the run game, use that to open things up and control the clock. All right, let's do our plays of the game. Who wants to go first. I'll to me it's the Derek Barnett sack fumble, right when we've waited so long for a sack from this Eagles defense. It couldn't have come at a more opportune time. And they come through not just with a sack of Aaron Rodgers, but also get
the ball on the ground. Huge play gets the Eagles back in the game, allows them great field position to score a touchdown and go ahead. To me, that's the biggest player of the game. It really helps kind of turn the tide in the Eagle's favor permanently. And for me, it's not just one play, is two series. The two
goal line stands. The first goal line stand in order to keep the Packers out of the end zone when they're only up by a touchdown, gave the Eagles the ball back, allowed them to choose some more time up off that clock, change the field position over. So I love the fact that they got that first goal line stand and then the second goal line stand. My goodness to be able to go down there with the game on the line to get that ball knocked up in
the air and didn't have a linebacker. My boy, Nigel Bradham, who dropped one a little bit earlier, could have had one earlier. He's a linebacker's defense and you rarely get a second opportunity to make a big play like that. So great job of Nigel being able to take advantage of that second opportunity to seal the game. UM, get
down a little. I think you catch the ball, but I love the fact that the linebacker one, they would get it two great defensive goal line stands for a defense that's severely undermanned and they're looking from help from anybody they can get it from on that side of the football. To come up with those two stands against
Aaron Rodgers in that offense. Wow, yeah, yeah for me, a friend, great minds thinking like on this one, because that was my That was my play of the game, because not only did it take the ball away from green Bay, but it's set up that Eagle's touchdown there with Jordan Howard going into the half to put them up for the first time in the game. So just
a massive momentum change. Not only do you take one away from the from green Bay, but you get it to the Eagles, and UM, let's talk about Derek Barnett while we're at it here, Um, he all over the place, you know, some not so smart moves and then yet some incredible game changing place from him. He really, to me, showed up more tonight than maybe we had seen him so far this season. I remember, this is a guy that basically is in his second season, right because so
much of his sophomore year was cut off. Last year was his first year as a starter, so a role player as a rookie, but in a Super Bowl run, made some big plays, regular season, playoffs, super Bowl for this team, and then comes back as a starter his second year, gets hurt and now comes back and you just see a more developed pass rusher. I know that the sacks weren't there over the first three weeks, but he's able to win in a number of different ways.
He's always gonna play with a great motor, He's always gonna be able to defend the run. But the way that he was able to show up on film in different ways, I know the production was not there over the first three weeks, but what he did tonight I can't I can't wait to dive into the film tomorrow and really kind of hone in on what he did as a pass rusher. Yeah, the production may not be there to the neked eye when you look at the stat sheet for the early party to see them, but
you know he has been around the quarterback. He does have the quarterback Hurry's is great to see him get the payall tonight and finally get the sack and get a strip fumble. That's awesome. My thing with Derek has always been availability. You know, the talent is there, you know it's any and when he's out there on the field,
he typically can be an impactful player out there. We just got to keep him healthy for sixteen games, and with this defensive line being underman and not having the depth that they're accustomed to, you're gonna need all the healthy, good players that you can have. And number ninety six, if he can continue to play like this, I expect to see more production from him as the season goes along.
As France said, he's basically in his second year and what that means is he's still learning how to play defensive end from a technical standpoint, right, we know, we know he has the speed, the bending other ankles to get around the corner. Now he has to learn the counter moves bringing in the power using those hands, because the more you go up against those left tackles, you're going up against some of the best guys in this league, and you can't just beat them with speed. You're gonna
need other things. It's in the toolbox. He just has to have the ability to bring it. Are ready to hear from coach time. I do have a statement on a Vonte Maddox. Uh, he has movement in all extremities. We're happy to hear that. For precautionary reasons. He's been sent to the hospital for further evaluation. And now we can hear from a little bit more from the head coach one mad Yeah, we just we released a statement here earlier tonight. Um, he has movement in all his
extremities and he's being checked for precautionary reasons. Right now, Do you feel good about feel good about where he's at? No? Reasonable? Yeah, again, we're just gonna check him out, make sure everything's good. But he was coherent coming off the field and it should be fine. That was the biggest part of the game for the defense and they have to go back out there and save the game. How difficult is that? And Craig I think were those his first couple of
snaps of the game there on defense. Yeah, you know, I actually believe his first couple of snaps were in Atlanta. Um, I know, but he played in Atlanta and then he had tonight. Um he had to go in and that in that situation. So, UM, it's it's it's uh when the game, when the game is on the line and the game is stopped, you know, for for an injury
like that for a lengthy period of time. Um, you know, it's a it's a tough situation, especially you know defensively where we were on the field around the seven eight yard line, So credit the defense man. It's I was twice down there. Um I think we held him three to seven. I think in the red zone tonight, and and uh, anytime you can keep you know, an Aaron Rodgers team out of the end zone. Um, it's a positive thing. There's got to be so many thoughts going
through your mind. The injury one of your players obviously looked like it could be serious. Now you got to get ready to stop. Then you got to think, I would think that there could be impossible overtime. What are all the thoughts to go through your head? Well, all this is going on. I mean you said it, um, all those things because one I had that was my last time out. UM, so I was the first thing. And then uh just uh, you know, hoping we could
at least get the stop. UM you knew, you knew they were going forward on all four downs obviously, UM. And then and then preparing, if you know, preparing for them to go for two, possibly go for two to win, you know, in that situation as well, So you got to prepare for that. And then obviously getting ready for overtime. So UM, gosh, defense stepped up when they needed to tonight, UM,
and UM made and made some place. Team fought. You know, guys coming up a real tough loss, coming here a short week and a really tough place to play against Aaron Rodgers and that team, especially their defense. Can you just talk about how proud you are this team. UM. I love those guys in the locker room. You know the way they've you know, they've battled through adversity already early in the season. First, you know, these last two games last two weeks, having to come on the road
Thursday night, team that's undefeated, playing extremely well at home. UM, and to do what we did. Hopefully it gives us momentum. You know, it gives us a little shot in the arm. Now we get some time off to get these guys healthy and and uh we got a home game coming up. But couldn't be more proud of the guys the locker room for for playing for a full sixty minutes. We talked about that this week, and uh, um very proud of the Gas running game twenty and having Dallas Goddard
back and fully engaged in the game playing. How vital for your packages down there in the region and all you're trying to do. Yeah, I mean it's h it gives us a little more versatility. And uh, you know, credit the offensive line, the run game, you know, Jordan Howard, you know, pounding the ball there too and getting some positive runs and then and then having al Sean and Dallas back in the lineup. Really, um just just opened up a lot of things for us. And um, you know,
as we know, it all starts up front. But Carson did a great job tonight. I believe there was no sacks, uh, you know tonight, and and um just happy for the Gas again. I just think it just starts with the offensive line. You know, it's it's nothing that we you know, it's the run game. You're not gonna reinvent the wheel. You know, it's it's five guys blocking four and tonight five guys on defense. And this is a good, good front,
really good front. And uh, Um, a lot of our combination blocks had some success that the you know, Jordan ed Miles both had some they ran with great vision tonight, uh saw some cuts coming out the backside. Um. But we were able to sustain those blocks and get momentum, and we were positive and and we talked about that on first down, staying positive because that was an area of of sort of weakness of our offense was first down and being a little more positive there. So great
job there. Your defense took four fifteen YEARID penalties and three of them lent to scores by the Packers. Did you address that at any point during the game? Do you need to address going forward? They were all, I'll addressed it moving forward. It's hard to address it during the game. Um, with the game moving total first downs, I mean that's a lot. And Um, we have to be smarter. We gotta play smarter, We gotta play within ourself. Um.
And just gotta get better there. Your offense was able to respond to them, scoring off your defensive miscuse and you, for example, you called a touchdown pass per a guy who hasn't had a touchdown pass since he's a rookie, and you're in, Jordan Howard, you pulled Zach Ertz off on a critical first down call and he want all that happy about it? How do you think you did tonight? And doesn't mean more for you doing it? Doing it here? What we won won the game? I mean, I'm gonna
I'm gonna listen. I can't. I can't. I can't sit there and go. I need Zach here and need Dallas there. I need it. We're going with the guy, and our our game plan coming in was to play fast. We wanted to play fast. We've done it the last couple of weeks and it didn't matter who was on the field. We were going to continue to do that. And um, Jordan just happened to be on the receiving end of the one. That's He's not necessarily the primary guy on
that thing. It just happened that we got the right coverage, we got the look we wanted, and well, I went there and you got the touchdown. So um, bottom line is find a way to win, and we did on Thursdays. Why are you so good on Thursday? I just credit the players. I credit the players for how well they prepared during the week. Um. You know, I do my part by trying to give them as fresh as I can and healthy as I can through practice during the
week and spend more time getting mental reps. But you know these guys really, um take it upon themselves to prepare and be ready on Thursday night. Version. Um, we've been here before where you're up seven, you can go forward to you didn't like the decision, did you No? Well did I link decision? Yeah? Yeah, okay, then don't ask the question. Well, I'm just curious that there's a I know obviously to go up to the reason you
want to go to want bottom? No? No, no, go up to yeah, bring based fine drive there they had catch on the first down was when Fletcher went down. Um, it seemed like you were debating whether or not to flop throw the challenge flag. Look like I was. I was communicating with our guys upstairs to see if that was a catch. I couldn't see it on the field. From where I was, UM, and I was talking to the official. They were helping me, giving me all the information.
They thought it was a catch who was borderline. I didn't want to risk a challenge because I've just done it earlier on what we thought was a possible DPI. UM, So I didn't want to risk the challenge. Having God heard back helps with the run game helps a lot. Um. You know, our two tight end package tonight, uh was was was pretty pretty pretty good. Um. Dallas is really
um in his second year. He's strong, he's physical, he does a nice job for us, and he's he's a good change of pace tight end to be able to block at the point of attack and or on the backside as well. And I thought both tight I thought Exacted did some nice things too in the run game. All right, okay, coach crediting the players for their execution and their mental focus on a short week. He's now four though, on Thursday Night football. I mean, how much
believe I think foreign now since he's been here tonight. Sorry, I don't know. I don't know a lot to have somebody looked at me. I may have been all all night the one. It may be that the opening up last year on Thursday night wouldn't be considered a short week since it was the first game of the season, a lot of time to prepare. Um. What do you think the secret sauces to that for him? Well, I
think it's how he handles the players. I think the way he handled last week's practice, where some people tried to criticize him after the loss to Detroit saying, what they didn't practice last Wednesday and that's why they should have practiced. No, his reasoning for not practicing last Wednesday also played into this week's game. He said that last week that they had two games in eight days and he's trying to manage both games. That's difficult to do for a coach when you know that you want to
get the first win taken care of. And so what he was doing last week and taking care of his guys including this week, was to so that they would be fresh for tonight's game. And I'm not sure if they look more fresh in any of the three previous games with a full week arrest than they did tonight. That offensive line looked fresh and looked like they wanted to pound on guys. The running game look good. We threw when we needed to throw the football. I didn't
think the defense looked worn down. They started losing players. That may have contributed to some things out there, but as far as the team looking strong in the fourth quarter, the Eagles looked like the stronger team of the two. They didn't wilt, they didn't wear down. So I think Doug has sort of a formula that he likes to go to that's going to give him a chance to give his team the best chance to be at their best.
And it doesn't necessarily mean he's gonna always win on these short weeks, but at least it gives his players an opportunity to go into the game fresh, and they were able to do that tonight. And you talk about
the play calling really creative. Really, I think he was able to open it up because there was a lot of that person out there, but a lot of really great calls to anything specifically stand out to you with that or throwing the ball to Jordan Howard out of the backfield, I think that shocks everybody, including the Packers defense.
They don't particularly expect that. When Jordan comes in the game, it almost tell you that it's going to be a run so the fact that they recognized that tendency from their first three games and decided to throw the ball with Jordan Howard out there, I thought that was a
difference wrinkle. And I saw more screens tonight. I've been wondering where is the screen game They ran screens, whether it be to Jordan Howard or whether it be the Dallas Goddard to pick up a key first down in the red zone where they ran a tight end screen.
So my recollection is they ran at least three screens tonight, and so I wanted to see that get put back into the game plan because when you're going against a defense like the Packers that's fast flowing and that lives in the opposing teams backfield, you want to kind of use that speed against them, let them rush up the field, and then dump that screen off to him. I thought we we incorporated that into the game playing tonight. So
that was nice to see. So really, it really looked to me like this team put it all together on both sides of the ball. How much of that do you attribute to healthy personnel coming back obviously not one hundred percent healthy, but some guys coming back versus this is game four. Is this just we now we're through the actual preseason and now this is the real regular season because the preseason has evolved the way that it has. That is a great point you bring up, Amy, and
I think that is a factor at it. Obviously, getting players bag helps as well, but it's the reason why I felt this game wouldn't be a low scoring game. It's the fourth game for both teams starting to get into a rhythm. The Eagles showed a little bit of that Sunday, so I thought they would have some success offensively.
I do believe that's part of it. But I also believe having a guy like al Sean and Dallas Goddard in a full game plan, as opposed to just nine plays for Dallas Godars Sunday, he was able to be out there for a full complimentary of plays. They were able to run the ball and throw it to him. We know that this is a talented team, right they did. They accomplished one of the two things I wanted them to do tonight, take care of the football and minimize
the penalties. Well, we know which one they were able to do tonight, and we know which one they struggled at tonight and that hurt them at times, that extended drive for the Packers. That's been the biggest achilles heel for the Eagles in their two losses is the self inflicted wounds, the penalties that the timely penalties that hurt them, that extend drives or kills their drives, or the turnovers. No turnovers tonight didn't give the Packers any extra possessions.
But because the costly penalties some you know these these I guess roughing plays. So how good is this team going to be? If they can get those things cleaned up? This would have been a much different more one a very good team. And I hate to play the what if game because you are what your record says you are. But the bottom line is in the two losses, they had five turnovers, I believe, and they had nine drop passes and countless penonties that hurt them. And tonight they
were able to minimize those. They got to clean up the penalties. You have to clean up the penonties. I don't mind aggressive play, I don't mind playing physical as a defense, we minimize those penonies on offense, but too many costly penalties on defense that kept that Packers offense on the field that we were able to get out of harm's way with a victory tonight. If they can clean net up, this is one of the best football teams in the NFL, just like everybody predicted they would be.
They got to get their guys back on the field healthy. Deshan Jackson, he's gonna be a big plus when he comes back, and they have to show up the defense, right, we all know what the issue is. You lost two more bodies tonight and Avanta Maddox and Sydney Jones. The secondary is depleted. They need help, whether there's Jalen Mills, whether coming back as soon as possible, Craive Vola Bloc, we know that Ron Darby's gonna be out for a few weeks, or you look to the outside for help.
But the bottom line is they're coming up on a rough part of the schedule. They're gonna have three road games coming up here after they play the Jets in ten days, and then after you come off the three game road trip, you got the Bears and then you got to play New England in Seattle. So this is the most difficult part of the schedule over the next six seven weeks, and the Eagles are gonna have to be able to keep their heads above water until they
get to the back portion of their schedule. And man, you can't keep losing bodies. It's hard when you get down to your fourth, fifth, and sixth defensive backs. I mean, Craig James was out there like, what defense are we running? Right? Well, it's something we saw last year and that ended up being a benefit to this team by the end of
the year and carrying over to this year. But if they were fortunate to get in last very fortunate, and of course, speaking a defensive back who did come back from injury this year, Rodney McCloud Hewett one on one with David Spenero after this win, let's let's see that interview, all right, Rodney, take us through that last sequence there. Man, it's a battle to the end. Man, we don't stop, We don't quit, you know what I'm saying. Nigel makes a crazy play, but MOSTI poortly. Man Crag comes in
off the bench, next man up, it comes in. Man doesn't doesn't blink. Makes a great play. Nidge. Then for the finish ball game, how big is this win for the Philadelphia Eagles. Man's huge? Man like, we've been trying to find a way to win these games coming down the stretch like this, and today we got it. Man, We just we just stayed together. That's the most important thing. Everybody counted us out. We stay together. We bleed in ourselves.
A lot of smiling Eagles out there on that lambeau Field of Rodney McLoud leads the team and tackles in this one with that, that's not good. No, no, actually night combined U and six six solo. What did you Mary Year? You don't. You don't typically want the safety leading your safety, and he's the free safety, not Malcolm A different story. Yes, it's great that he was able to make tackles. Again, they're they're undermanned. They're out there playing with all types of duct tape and glue and
holding on as best as they can. So this is one of those victories where you had to gut it out and do whatever that was needed. Jonathan sipper and had to be out there probably more than he expected tonight. They got a few days off here before they had to take on the New York Jets, and like I said, hope days off, well, you got to come back next week to get ready for the Jets actual weekend. Sure, sure you do, you do. So they got a few days off and to get healthy and m and that's
what they're gonna need. They're gonna need all the healthy, healthy bodies that they can get because this is a passing league. And as we've seen through the first four games our secondary, we've given up yardage in the passing game in the first four games. I mean, Aaron Rodgers threw four over four hundred yards tonight and so we're gonna have to shore that up. So it's it's it's gonna be all hands on deck here coming up. Yeah, let's talk about Fletcher Cox. He limped off the field
for a minute, came back on the field. He always comes back even when he gets hurt, Like there's something about him is just next level human being where he can stay in even when he's dealing with stuff. Absolutely, you know, took another step forward in his game. Um, something that I think it was Mike Meryl or Mike they both have picked him different weeks as their player
to watch pregame. But looking to see that from him taking another step forward as he recovers from that injury and especially with the depth that defensive tackle absolutely critical to have him out there. What did you see from him tonight? And as he continues to kind of get his legs under him, probably Fletcher's best game. Yeah, I thought he flashed a lot tonight. Uh collapsed the middle
of that pocket. And when he does that, and when he forces Aaron Rodgers to go out to his right or to his left, there has to be a defensive end there. That's Fletcher's job is to collapse that middle of the pocket and flush Aaron Rodgers out to his buddies. So I noticed ninety one in the backfield a lot chasing down Aaron Rodgers almost to the point where he was exhausted at times when he went out, I was a little concerned. It was great to see him come
back in. That's the true testament of a warrior and a leader who's not going to leave his brothers out there shorthand it fought to get back on the field when you know he's not one. But I thought he showed up in my in my view of watching the defensive line pass rush tonight, and there were several times where Aaron Rodgers had to take off or escape that pocket, and a lot of it was due to the middle of that offensive line collapsing and Big ninety one being
the reason for it. Yeah. Absolutely, it was great to see him really take another step forward and kind of see that that just like that dominant forcement side that we're so used to seeing from Fletcher historically and why he's one of the best in league. Another thing that stood out to me in this one the field position game.
Shout out to Cameron Johnson. How big of a difference did he make in this one to set the Eagles up for success every time and to have Aaron Rodgers pretty much had to go the entire field every single time he had the ball. Yeah, it's it's early in the season, but I think Cameron Johnson is punted at a pro Bowl level. I really do. I mean, his ball placement at the distance he's gotten on these punts
has really gone unnoticed. And that's a good thing for him because we typically only notice putners and kickers when something bad happens. So you're right, Cam Johnson has been doing a nice job of at least penning the opposing team's offense deep in their territory. And I can't leave out the kickoff return again. That mouse Sanders was able to have with that unit out there, setting up the first touchdown of the game. I know Dave Fipp has
to feel good about that at there. What happened this past week against the Lions giving up their kickoff return, it was great to see his unit be able to contribute, give his offense a short field as well as force the opposing team's offense to go a long way with the defense. Let's go back to some of the things that coach Peterson said. A lot going on at the end of the game, A lot going through his mind. You have a Vonte Maddox going down, You have the
Packers trying to score, the clock is winding down. Is it going to be overtime? Are they going to go for two? So many things going through his mind. How tense cannot be for a player at the end of the game, especially with the emotional component of senior teammate go down and then knowing, okay, they've had the offense has had a lot of time to kind of get their their ducks in a row, and now we have to stop Aaron Rodgers with the clock winding down. What
is the emotion like in a moment like that. Well. The good thing is is that I think it took wrong enough that they were able to have time to have thief for their their falling teammate, who's down there
on the field. I've been a part of that. We lost Corey Deptmer on a Monday night out in San Francisco, and really as a team, he sort of had the same reaction where you see all the players come from the sideline and you're really over there taking a knee, praying that the guy gets up, Praying that you see some of his either his legs or his arms moving, so that you know that paralysis is not a part of the scenario, at least at that point. It took an extended period of time, So I think the Eagles
as a defense that was a long drive. They were sort of on their heels. It was kind of beneficial for the Eagles that they had time to sort of regroup, catch their breath and then say, okay, let's come up
with our best defense is here and lock in. Another good thing for them DeVante Adams not being on the field right so we know how much of a problem he had been and it gives Jim Schwartz time over there to go through a different a couple of different scenarios that he could sort of play on his head and figure out what type of defense he wants to
run there. So I think in that situation, as unfortunate as it was, that advantage down in that situation, I think the Eagles may have benefited from it because he gave them time to collect their thoughts, right, He gave them time to collect their thoughts. And the Packers, for whatever reason, they only ran the ball once there and then they decided they wanted to throw in tight windows.
Great defensive call where you don't send extra guys. The defense had seven men dropping out and coverage, so the passing lanes are tight. All you have to do is get your hand on the ball, get a deflection there, and make sure one of your guys is there to catch that deflection. And it worked out perfectly. Did you find it strange that they didn't elect to run in
those situations? I did. I did. And you don't know what players called there, whether it's a check with me or some type of RPO where it's a run pass option. They ran on the first down because I felt they didn't want to give the Eagles the ball back too soon. But then they just side and they wanted to throw the ball, And again, you don't know if that's Aaron Rodgers deciding he's seeing something so he's going to throw a quick pass there as opposed to giving the ball
to Aaron Jones. But yeah, I know as a fan, I'm saying, just run the ball. You're only what three four yard line wherever you are, at least run the ball. You have your time out, so that allows you to be able to run the ball and get it in the end zone there as opposed to trying to fit it into a tight window. I'll tell you what this is where that disconnection may be between quarterback and head coach.
Is that a scenario there where the quarterback is saying, I want to be the reason that we get this ball in the end zone as opposed to handing it off. Glad we don't have to worry about discussing it with our team, and I'll be discussing it in Green Bay. Though.
It is something that you know has been a theme with Aaron Rodgers throughout his career, and you know this quarterback coach relationship, this Matt Laflour coming in there is supposed to be Aaron Sky and they've really seemed too Joel really well, but are still kind of figuring each other out. And so maybe you saw some of that today that really it's been the defense that's won the games for them as the offense continues to kind of
figure it out. But you're always in the game with Aaron Rodgers, even if there's five seconds on the clock, he tends to make magic happens. So I think, really we talked about the Eagles bend, don't break is what Franz said. You said they don't will to be able to stand in a situation like that on the road in a hostile environment. I mean it has to be
something that they can carry forward throughout this season. Yeah, and I think when they get down in the red zone they draw back on times that where they've been successful. We know the Atlanta Falcons play to get them to the NFC Championship Game a couple of years ago. The
Atlanta Falcons play last year an opening Night. So this defense has made gold Line stands in big moments, latent games, and when you have guys like a Malcolm Jenkins out there and Nigel Bright him out there, these guys are experienced, so they're able to keep everyone else around them calm and those scenarios. Play a sound defense, do your job, don't try to be the hero. Trust your teammates, and that's what they were able to do in that scenario there.
And I I think Jim Schwartz is comfortable calling deepens is down there in the red zone. He trust these guys that they're going to run the defense the way they wanted to run. And again, it helps not to have number seventeen out there in Devonte Adams. So yeah, I was just actually going to ask about that. We talked about how successful he was tonight. He had a hundred and eighty yards, fifteen targets, ten catches, one hundred and eighty yards against the Eagles. Eagles get the win.
What allowed Adams to be so successful. He's one of the best receivers in football. And this guy hasn't been in the end zone yet. He didn't get in there to night, but he certainly got his targets and his catches and his yards the night where he set up that Green Bay Packers. You finished that in a minute. But Carson Wentz is ready to take the podium let's
hear from the Eagles quarterback. Take away from the outside looking in was get rid of the ball relatively quick and make a quick quick read, get it, gets the ball out of his head. What do he wanted? Yeah, I mean we came in no him, that's a good good package defense, good front. They like to mix it up, do some things. So uh came in really just wanting to balance attacks, you know, get rid of the ball, you know, early, and just play fast and you know on third down as well. So we had a good
game plan. We extually you tonight was that running game tonight? Huge, huge running game riding the old line and those two backs especially, that's huge, huge for me. You know, it takes a lot of pressure off me and you know, to be able to move the ball the way we did on the ground, that was huge for us tonight. How to feel it going to Lamba Field and get a win, it feels huge, you know, especially the point
of the season that we're at. You know, going two and two is a heck of a lot better than being one in three Thursday night game on the road in Lambeau. A lot of things you know against working against us this week, but to come in here and fight to the end. The defense coming up big at the end, huge win for us. The confidence that you know your teammates have in this really it definitely does
you know. I think, you know, even the last two weeks, you know, we've been extremely confident the guys we have and the ability that we have to to win ball games just came up short a couple of times. And so, uh, this is you know, kind of a nice little spark for us to you know, now we got a couple of days off and get this thing going. Uh, you know, get this ball rolling for sure. After the injury to matters, there's so many things that could have happened beyond that,
whether it's any time, whatever it is. What are you thinking just waiting watching? Yeah, obviously hoping, And first of all, I mean with Vante, I mean we're definitely thoughts and prayers with him. Uh, that's the absolute the worst part of the football, you know, is when you see guys like that, and so we're praying for him and you know, hopefully we'll see him again here soon. But then it was kind of all right, now it's back to football.
You know, it's been a lot of silence kind of somber attitudes, and then we realized, all right, there's less than minute less than this ball game, and someone's got to win this game. So, uh, this is huge the defense step up the way they did, and you know, excited to come out with when starting to think about
the possible another period. I mean, we're for sure, you know, I'm with coach grow and other guys just putting together some two minute plays, you know what we want to get to if they do score and everything and so but fortunately we didn't have to use them in that
first series. You think you came out looked like you were really kind of maybe extra amped, but watch a lot of stuff on the others passage, you feel like you have to kind of try to get yourself a little bit and check, No, I just missed him, you know, just missed a couple, you know, miss the throw. But um, I wasn't too word, you know, able to settle in and um, you know we think we got that got it going a little bit. So yeah, I wasn't too word. Did you kill a lot of runs? You got to
the line basic on what they were doing? Uh? Not really No, you know, we uh we had a good plan you know, we did some things at the line where we made some checks, but not a huge, huge night of that, and uh coached a great job of mixing it up and calling a great game and you guys were downtown nothing. Miles had that long kickoff, Like how how much did that kind of spark you guys?
That's huge? You know, that's huge, you know, to have a short field like that, and I think I think we did two straight drives in a row or something like that short field, um, especially when or downten nothing. The way we were, we were kind of slowing offense. So that was huge for us to get a role in for sure, and we were able to get in the end zone. That was big. Back to it's huge,
you know. I mean, I don't know what he ended up with, just a couple of catches probably, but his presence has definitely felt you know, his presence has felt offensively from the guys in here in our locker room, but uh, they have to always be aware of where he's at. And uh, you know, he was a big part of our offense to Night and God are both playing a lot kind of helped the running games just
open things up. I think, so you know, I think it was good to have you know, Dallas full strength and al Shan out there and uh, you know, just opening some things up and you know they have to account for all those weapons and uh, the old line did a great job opening some some holes in the running game and those guys hit them hard. Four games. Carson, what have you learned about the team? Resilient? Resilient team?
You know, unfortunately been plagued with a lot of injuries, you know, both sides of the ball, and uh, we'll see you know what what that looks like going forward for it for this team, But resilient bunch. Uh, it's kind of what we knew. I knew we had a lot of good depth and good ability, but the resiliency
has been good to see game. But how big it's huge, huge, Uh, Like I said earlier, you know, the difference between going two and two and one and three is huge in this league and especially for us on the road a short week coming in here. That's big for our confidence for sure. Person on the touchdown throat at Jordan Howard, who was your first read on that play? And what
did you see kind of from a cover standpoint? Yeah, it was Jordan Uh, you know, he was the alert and uh, they kind of mixed up coverage there a little bit and he was wide open. So it was good to get him in the passing game and the running game for sure. In the last two weeks, Miles and Jordan both mad plays in the passing game, which hasn't been the case here for a couple of years. How big is it to have those guys really kind
of developed into good receivers. Yeah, it's huge. You know the way we like to use those guys out of the backfield, you know, spread them out in the empty sets and you know, get mismatches on linebackers and both those guys coming along. Obviously everyone knows Sprowls can do
that and that's a big part of his game. But being able to do that with those guys, to keep the same personnel, run the ball, spread it out, do some different things as big for us as to as this was turnaround on the road two games five days to now have this weekend off in a little extra time for you guys to get healthy, because you guys are banged up. How beneficial will this weekend be for
you guys to have this time off? Yeah, this weekend will be huge, you know, I know mentally for everybody, it just you know, to quarter through the season, you know, just to kind of decompress and mentally, um, get away for a day or two here, and then physically for sure, you know, the injuries and everything that's going on. Um, get some guys healthy, hopefully, get some guys back and make it run. Thought like, how you haven't had that signature man beating a good team on the road and
all that making places in the fourth quarter. But you did all those things tonight. Is that significant for you? Kind of do you look at it that way? Um? You know, I just look at it as a resilient team that finally finished. You know, I think we're right there the last couple of weeks and we finally finished and got it done tonight. Um. You know, I wish offensively we would have sealed the deal m that dry prior, but the defense stepped up and made some great plays
down the stretch and that we got it done. Aaron Rodgers, you know, you know who he is and what he's done. Watching him tonight, do you feel like you were kind of in a duel back and forth with him? You know, you're kind of matching scores there for a long time. Yeah, I mean it definitely was back and forth game, and you know, a heck of a competitor and you know he can sling it around, so uh, you know, he kept it interesting and it was definitely back and forth.
But you know, for us being able to have the balance attack that we did, I think it was the difference maker for us in your career that you that you want throwing one hundred and sixty yards. What does it say about this offense that you guys can have this game without you having three hundred ards. Yeah, it was huge. Like I said, just the balance attack, especially against a good defense like the Green Bay Packers were. Um, the balance attack was. It was a difference maker for us.
And you know, like I said earlier, takes a lot of pressure off of me, and you know, we can lean on those big guys up front. They love running the ball, they love moving guys up front, and we were able to get that done tonight. Thank you. A huge win for Carson Wentz and the Eagles tonight. UM
A lot to take away from what he said. Obviously, Carson very excited talking about being able to rely on the run game just having all shun back, how much his presence has felt even if he isn't um you know, getting a bill any game anything specifically jump out to you about Carson's thoughts, Well, I just love the way
that he was patient with the game. I mean, when you're sitting at one and two a year on the road, sometimes it's a quarterback, you may feel like I have all the way to the world on my shoulders and I need to go out here and outdo Aaron Rodgers. And it was great to see that he didn't necessarily
feel the pressure of doing that. Not that he didn't feel any pressure out there and play well, but he just didn't feel like he had to take it all upon himself to try to do it, and he allowed this offense to work for in the night I mentioned earlier where you noticed that he was in a certain offensive call and he checked to a run play based
on the defense that he was seeing out there. So to me, that's the maturity of a quarterback saying to himself, I have to trust my teammates around me, I have to trust my coaches around me and let this thing come to me, as opposed to feeling like I need to force the issue, and that's the maturity of a quarterback. I mean, when young guys are as talented as car Arson is and we put as much focus in pressure on his performance, it's very easy for these guys to say, well,
I need to do it all myself. And it was great tonight to see that he didn't play like he needed to do it all himself. And that's not easy to do. When you look across the field and you watch that other guy going up and down the field the way Aaron Rodgers was, you almost feel like you need to go out there and match what he's doing, when really all you need to go out there is just keep points up on with him, and they were
able to do that tonight. Yeah, I didn't feel like he ought to old Aaron Rodgers, but if told him he did. We have to take a quick break. Welcome back to the postgame show presented by Rico. We mentioned rookie running back Miles Sanders a career high in his short career with the Eagles tonight, rushing for a very impressive seventy two yards on eleven carries. He is the star of the Rico Review tonight, friend Duffy breaking down a big play by the Eagles. Rookie take a look. Well,
the Eagles are tied now twenty seven, twenty seven. They get the ball and on the first play of the drive they get one of their biggest of the season, a huge run by Miles Sanders here in the backfield. And this is what you would call a wham play. And what is a wham play? Well, a wham is anytime you have a fullback or a tight end who is asked to block an interior defensive lineman. So a tight end blocking a defensive tackle, you wouldn't think that
that's a fair matchup. But when you have angles and deception on your side, now you can make that work. Now, what the Eagles are gonna do is they bring Dallas Goddard in motion. He was lined up initially out wide to the left. They bring him in short motion. He settles in right next to the line of scrimmage here just before the snap. So these defensive lineman they're not thinking all Dallas Goddard. He's gonna be a factor here
in this run play. But they're gonna bring him in And I want you to watch this corner Traymont Williams, number thirty eight. He's in man coverage on Dallas Goddard. Just store that away and keep it in the back of your mind. The player that Gotter is going to block is number ninety four, Dean Lowry. This defensive tackle lined up across from Isaac Sayamalo. Now, if Dean Lowry is gonna be blocked by Goddard, okay, we're gonna take him out of the picture. Who are Jason Peters and
Isaac Sayamalo gonna block? Well, now this is the beauty of a wham plays. Now you're getting even more favorable matchups because now you can get your offensive lineman clean up to the second level. Isaac say Milo is gonna get up on the linebacker, Blake Martinez, Jason Peters is gonna get up on the safety, and then you've got Zach Ertz. He's just gonna wash out the pass rusher
Preston Smith. So now not only are you erasing a defensive lineman, but you're also getting big bodies up to the second level to get some mismatches up in space and create some room to work. So we're gonna let this roll and see how this all comes to fruition here for the Seagles offense, this is about to be a car wreck inside right in front of Miles Sanders. Dallas Goddard completely wipes out Dean Lowry. Zach Hurts does
a great job play side. Jason Peters is about to crunch this safety number thirty one and wipe him into oblivion. He buckles immediately on contact. Isaac sayamalo. He gets up to the second level and you see Traymont Williams. Remember I told you right at the beginning of the snap, Traymont Williams was in man coverage on the tight end Dallas Goddard. So when Goddard came across the formation, Traymont Williams rand with him. So he's actually running himself out
of the play. Look at this alley that Miles Sanders has to work with. It's why wham and trap the traps Distant Cousins are such great run players because you take advantage of angles. You get the running back downhill, you get a huge alley. Here. We'll let this run and you can see Miles Sanders running away. Ninety six tries to make a nice play from the backside, but Sanders is off for the race. Is huge run play to get the Eagles going, get them into Green Bay
territory here and set up a touchdown. Jordan Howard finishes it off with a couple of devastating runs between the tackles and the Eagles take a one touchdown league. The Eagles rookie running back continues to make impressive strides in his game. Really impressive stuff there from my el Sanders. We are going to take another quick break. On the other side, we have the nominees for the Toyota Player

Go to Philadelphia Eagles dot com slash Toyota Player of the Week to cast your vote and get a chance at a brand new Toyota. Brand new Toyota. That's pretty exciting stuff there. Everybody should vote. The three players people can be voting on for this week for Player of the Week. Nigel Brada no surprise there, Carson Wentz and
Jordan Howard all very impressive performances tonight. If you're casting a vote, who's getting your vote tonight? This is a tough one. Yeah, I would have to go with Jordan Howard. I would have to go with Jordan Howard. Three touchdowns, a Knight, big runs, even cult passes out of the backfield. Obviously, all three of those guys are are worthy a band Player of the Week, But a lot of fans calling for Jordan Howard to be a bigger part of the game plan. They got what they wanted, and he rewarded
everyone with a really a career performance. From a touchdown standpoint, Yeah, I think if I'm voting, I have to agree, even though I'm surprised if you're not picking a linebacker. That says a linebacker going an interception, a game ceiling interception, that says a lot. Look, the big, big reason the Eagles were able to succeed tonight on the road at Green Bay was because the run game was so productive. Credit to the offensive line, but credit to Jordan Howard
for continuing to run stronger and stronger. They're an excellent one. Remember to cast your vote for one of those three guys for your chance to win a free Toyota. All right, great win, a lot of momentum, a shot in the arm. Everyone's saying two and two, we're heading forward. We have the New York Jets coming to self Philadelphia next weekend, so the Eagles will have a little bit of a couple days off this weekend, kind of regroup the Jets.
Oh and three, they're very injured, but they're coming off of a bye. Sam Darnald up in the air he's been dealing with Mono. He's been dealing with that illness, so we're not quite sure when we're going to see him back, but maybe he'll be here. What do you see from the Jets team coming to well, a young team,
they're still trying to search for their identity. I thought they had a chance to be a wild card team if everything went their way, and Sam Donald took sort of that that second year step that you want to see from your top quarterbacks when they're drafted, but he's obviously dealing with somewhat of an illness right now. Here's what I would I would advise the Eagles enjoy this win tonight, enjoy the flight back home, even enjoy it tomorrow.
Understand there's a lot of football left to be played and you still have not arrived, and the Jets aren't to be taken lightly. And you got to realize that every game you have to approach with the same mentality you approach to night's game with. You can't come back here after ten days rest, take a Jets team lightly, and find yourself in a dog fight next Sunday, and then we're looking up at a surprise loss like we did with the Lions. So this is one of those
games where you want to keep the momentum going. You don't want to relax. You want to say, oh, we'll arrived, now we're good to go. We just beat Green Bay. No, use that as a springboard to probably run off a few games. I mentioned this is the toughest stretch of the schedule coming up over the next six to seven weeks, and none of these games are gimm That's the mindset
the players must have. If Doug is going to get them a few days off, I would advise use those days wisely, get healthy, get as much film as you can, but stay locked in. This is not a bye week. This isn't the time to go on vacation. There's a lot of football left to be played, and you put yourself in a position that you gotta get yourself out of and come back here next week and be ready
to take on the New York Jets. Well, and that is something that coach Peterson has emphasized throughout this just throughout his time here is Look, this team is going to have a target on their back. They're always going to get everyone's best effort, it doesn't matter who it is. They're always going to be ready to play the Eagles, and we are going to be ready for that game as well. We're going to be right back here on
October sixth as we prepare for kickoff. Our show will be at twelve thirty four one o'clock kickoff on the Kickoff Show presented by Exanta. That'll be me and Fran Duffy and of course, as always, after the game, I, Fran and I we will be back to break it all down. So we will see you on October sixth. In the meantime, enjoy this Eagles win and fly Eagles Fly,
