What a feeling here in Philadelphia has The Eagles get off the season on the perfect note by feeding the Washington Redskins by a score of thirty to seventeen. Held everyone, I'm Chris McPherson and welcome to the post game show presented by Rico. I'm joining a longside Ikey, Hi film baby after that one feeling real good way to start a twenty seventeen season on the road a divisional opponent. Eagles struggled last year on the road, indeed only winning

one game. Great way to get the season off. I thought this was a all around effort from all three phases. Typical back and forth game right in that ceast, You're gonna get a little bit of a slug fest, but the Eagles defense is able to come up with the big plays in the final couple of drives sealed his

thing for us. This to me felt like an exercise of the Damiens type of game, and it was great to see Doug Pearson get the ice bath at the end because to me, this is the type of game where the Eagles would not have won this one a year ago. Okay, the offense was able to make big plays, especially late in the game, to move the chains, to keep the offense on the field even as the Redskins

were starting to come back defensively. You mentioned Brandon Graham with the strip there, Fletcher Cox return it for the touchdown from twenty yards out. If the referees may have given us one on that one, but you know we'll take it. Indeed, Caleb Sturgis at a key fifty yard field goal, Jalen Watkins down the punt at the one yard line late in the game. So, as you said, all three phases contributed. But again, this was a coming of age game because all offseason it was how would

the Eagles grow from year one to year two? And they were able to get leads late in games against key division rivals. You remember the Dallas game last year, but this time they were able to finish, no doubt about it. And even though we felt good as Eagles fans coming into this game against the red Skins, you again are on the road against a divisional opponent, a team that's beating you five straight times. This was no easy victory for the Eagles and it was great to

see the offense come out hot. I thought they played great in that first quarter getting us all to a thirteen nothing start, and then you know the Redskins, Mason plays in that second quarter. We gathered ourselves and then the defense Caleb Sturges with a big field goal right before the half. That was being going into the locker room, getting a little bit of momentum back, and then coming out of the locker room and getting a field goal

on the opening drive. So these are things that whenever the Redskins made a push, the Eagles were able to answer the bell. And I can't say enough about the way this defense played coming down the stretch. They helped out big time for the offense, being able to get the red Skins off the field when they were deep in their territory and also coming up with their game selling touchdown with the sack forced from from Brandon Graham

touchdown by Fletcher Cox. Absolutely beautiful. You throwing Jail and Mills. Yeah, that red interception right there at the goal line, because it seemed like that they were about to score. You're talking, all right, put a couple of points where it's three or seven, Washington is on the doorstep knocking, They're gonna get some more points on the board, and it really change the dynamic of the game. No, the pressure force

Kirk Cousins to throw the ball errantly. Jalen Mills, what a time for his first career interception, stepping up in the big way there. Yeah, and he also made a big play going the other way in the third quarter when he went up against the Royal prior right on one in the end zone. I love the way he was able to get his head around, look for the ball and then make a play on the ball. In years pass, we watched these cornerbacks sort of panic, get anxious,

and what did they do? They throw a flag because you get a pass in appearance, I thought Jalen was in great position, nice y'all, keeping his composure coming up with that pass breakup and then the interception. Obviously I'll overthrow on Kirk Cousins partner pressure from Jordan Hicks there forcing the overthrow, but you got to catch him to take advantage of it, and Jalen was able to do that. Jial Mills is going to step up in the big way because Ronald Darby. We saw the injury there in

the second quarter. It did not look at whatsoever. I'm sure Pierce will provide an update in his press conference, We're gonna have that lie from FedEx Field in just a few moments. But again, stepped on the ankle, the foot flipped. It doesn't look like a good situation for him moving forward. He came out of the game. So Jale Mills, who really has taken strides going to the second season, more is gonna be on his shoulders. More's gonna be on Patrick robinson shoulders moving forward as the

Eagles had to figure out this cornerback situation. Enjoy the win, but big picture, down the line, the Eagles are going to go back to figure out who's gonna stop up at the cornerback position. Yeah, and that's why you gotta always have depth. And we got a couple of young guys that are gonna have to stop up and play. Today it was Watkins, Jalen Watkinson had to go in there and play a little bit of a corner and

then you had Patrick Robinson. I thought he did a nice job filling in for Ronald Darby when he when he wrote his ankle earlier in the game. So you know, that's what this league is all about. Injuries are gonna happen. Also, Jason Peters, you hope he's okay. He tried to give it a go in the second half at the one play he had to come out of the game. Holle ful lou vounce. He had to go in there and place.

But this is what you're saying around the league. You know, this is the first week of the seasons, the first time these guys have played sixty minutes four quarters since what last what a New Year's Day, They hadn't played four quarters. You're gonna get these things. You hope to sidestep a few of these injury situations, but it is happening around the league. The young guys got to be

ready to step up and be ready to go. But I won't let that sully this big victory today because it's great to get off to a nice start with a w You gotta get the wins inside the division. You gotta get the wins on the road, as Ike mentioned, one in seven on the road last year, five straight losses to the Wash the Redskins. All that is out the door, people. Okay, the Eagles get off to the

strong start with this thirty to seventeen victor. We're gonna hear from Doug Peer, so we're gonna hear from Carson Wentz. And speaking of Carson Wentz, I thought he did a magnificent job of buying time in the pocket. And you go to the first touchdown, a third and long situation, the heat is coming. He's able to elude two defenders

there in the pocket. Varies reminiscent of that preseason touch to Mac Collins where he buys some time in the pocket, flicks the ball over to Nelson, Agilor makes the man miss DJ Sweringer and he's off to the races for a fifty eight yard touchdown. So great job by Wentz keeping his eyes down field all times. Phenomenal job by Agilore making the guy miss and using his athleticism on that scrambled drill play to come up with a touchdown. Really was a good day by Carson Wentz. Had a

couple passes in the first half. I'm sure he will he want back, you know, he throw that later old Nelson is a little high throw a behind the line of scrimmage. That's a fumble there on that play. And he had an interception on another play. But I love the way he spread the ball around the field. And you're talking about his ability to keep his eyes down the field. That's one of the attributes as a young

player you just don't see. And the fact that he's mobile in the pocket and doesn't necessarily always look to run. He's looking to buy time to make plays. It's gonna make this offense dangerous. Remind you a little bit of Brett Farve Aaron Rodgers. Guys that buy time too, no doubt about it. And he has sort of that gunslinger's mentality, which we're gonna benefit more often than not from it.

Every once in a while, it's gonna bite us. But I don't take the good because it's definitely gonna outweigh the bad in this situation. This guy's ability to improvise on the move made plays his first game in his second season. I don't know if you could have asked for a better start. I thought a lot of the game was put on his shoulders. We tried to run the ball, didn't have a ton of success out of it, but we tried to run it a little bit there. But when the big plays needed to be made, it

was due to him and on his arm. Eight or fourteen on third down. That's huge, extending drives, giving yourself extra possessions, eating up the clock thirty five minutes time of possession today for the Eagles on the offense, I mean, the offense was humming. I'm pretty sure they have a couple of series there they would love to have back and get touchdown instead of field goals. But to put up to what twenty three twenty four in your first game,

I gotta get a details credit for their touchdown. Yeah, they do get there, they well deserved, say the very least. But the first play, the first throw for Carson Wentz, he went deep to Torry Smith. He wasn't wasting anytime. All this nonsense about the air yards at Dinkin offense, it is going to be completely different because he has the weapons, the personnel on the outside to utilize it. So to see Wentz go deep right off the bat

to Tessa Redskins secondary and keep doing it time after time. Again, the timing a little off on those plays that will come, I think throughout the course of the season. But at least you saw the willingness by Wentz to take charge and be able to try those throws. And even after some setbacks you mentioned the pick six by Ryan Kerrigan, you fell after that, here we go, they go off to the Great Star. They were leading thirteen nothing. The Redskins were a little sloppy early, you know, kind of

chipping away there. They were able to take the lead back from them, and you said, whatever you're gonna see. But Wentz and the Eagles rebounded in a big way. Again. The maturity and mental toughness that I think lacked at times do that swoon in the middle of the season, I think definitely was evident here today. So kudos to Doug Pearson for instilling that in this football team. Yeah, you want to know whether or not he was gonna be able to come back in his second year and

have commanded this offense. Well, he's done more than take command to this offense. He's taking command of this team. I mean he has certainly has voted to captain, one of the captains for the team on the season. He is clearly putting his stamp on this organization and that bowls well for us moving forward. Love the way he moved the ball around, kept everyone involved. Nelson Agilor probably had his best game as an Eagle to date. Um missed on a couple of d throws to Tory Smith.

But like you said, repetition is going to make that a lot easier as you moved down the field. The good thing about those is ay he was willing to throw him and be I thought Tory was open. Yes, you wonder whether not the old guy can still run. First of all, he had so much success early in his career. People think he's been around forever. He's only twenty eight years old. And as you saw to day, he was able to get behind the ranch gain secondary

a couple of times. I'm excited about this offense moving forward. And then the defense man I mean Jim Schwartz and this defense really did a nice job of mixing coverage up. They mixed up the pressure package, they brought guys at time they were able to get home with just the four guys up front. I thought the defense as a whole, on all three levels had a very good game. We talked about the theme here was the defense finished, and I think through the first three quarters three plus quarters,

even the defensive ends were getting pressure. You would see Chris Long coming in free not able to get the second credit to Kirk Cousins. Jim Schwartz warned everyone that you know he has more maneuverability in the pocket than most people. Indeed, but you saw Brandon Graham cream playing pressure. If any Curry is getting pressure in there, they just

could not bring him down. So it was so important that as the Eagles defense finished this game off, and I was I was a little concerned after that sixteen play drive in the second half where you said to yourself, if the offense doesn't get at least one first down to eat up some clock here, give the defense a little bit of a break. Defense might be in trouble here because you figure Risks are starting to click on all cylinders. They got the momentum their home, They're right

there ready for the score. Sixteen play drive really could have made a difference there. But credit to the Eagles for maintaining keeping them out the end zone, holding them to a field goal, and then being able to finish there at the end with Graham getting the forced fumble there that Cocks returned for the touchdown and then getting the sack on the final drive there for Cousins and company.

Now I go to the head coach, right, they don't win, He's gonna receive a lot of the criticism and be a lot of attention on him, So when they played well, you got to give him credit. And I want to give him credit for having his team ready to play opening week of the season. We take it for granted that everybody's going to be excited and ready to go, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's going to be the case.

I thought the guys came out fast. They played with the most energy in the first half, particularly in that first quarter. So give Doug credit for having his guys ready to go from the opening kick off. And then how about this the ability to sustain the punches of the Washington Risks. This was going to be a heavyweight fight. It was gonna be a four quarter battle. Red Skins gave their shots and the second and third quarter Eagles took the punches and came back, and they were the

stronger team in my opinion, in the fourth quarter. So having your team ready to go, being the stronger team at the end of the game, and being able to finish that credit has to go to the head coach a lot there, Unpack, because first you talk about starting fast. That was one of the bugga boots for this team last year. There are scored seventy eight to fifty six in the first quarter of games last year, and everyone was wondering, Look, the starters didn't play a lot in

the preseason, right, Okay, limited snaps compared to a year ago. So, as you mentioned, this is the first time they're playing for full sixteen minutes. How would they handle the increase in intensity knowing they're gonna be on the field for the entire time. Well, as you said, they were up to the challenge in a big way, so being able to start fast and sustain it, and as you said, you know they were stronger at the end of games

that death really came in. Okay, this is not just a more talented team at the starter level team, it's a deeper team. You look at that defensive line late in the game, you're seeing the Destiny Vyous, the bo Allens, you know, being able to get Barnett was in there.

Barnett has some flashes in there. So overall you're seeing these guys, all of these guys contribute, and they were able to sustain the Royal Darby injury, which you know a month ago he's not e mail on this football team, but then now you say yourself, oh, he's going to be a big contributor. He could be a guy that shadows some of these top receivers. What are they to do do with troll Pryor. They kept the corners to their

side respectively, which made sense to me. But the fact is they were able to lose Darby and is still able even though they had two of their corners inactive Rosseul Douglas Dexter McDougall weren't even suited up for today. They were able to sustain the injury partially thanks to the versatility of a guy like Jalen Watkins and also the addition of a guy like Corey Graham who came in during training camp as well, because he could come as a third safety and he can move someone like

Malcolm Jenkins around. Malcolm Jakins is an underrated game, not flashing in terms of stats. No pick six like he had a watchedon last year. But Jordan Reid was a non factor today. How long how long has it been since we been able to say that read against the Eagles man he kills us. Yes, so you have that. Jamison Crowder don't know how much the injury affected him, but he had the muff punt which was a big momentum shift early in the first half there, he wasn't

much of a factor. So certainly the Redskins were hurting from the from the standpoint of not having guys like the Sean Jackson and Pierre Garson in the offense today. Yeah, offense still looking for an identity down there in Washington and they was certainly a big play offense last year. The guys that they have now down there are basically

still trying to prove themselves. Jameson Crowd I had a great year last year in his second year, but Terrell Prior is really just in his second year playing wide receiver. And then you got the young guys. I didn't see jobs Jackson out there today, so he certainly was a part of their offense. And then you got Ryan Grant who made a couple of catches. That's an offense is going to rely heavy on. Jordan Reid in the run game. We did a great job on the run game today,

very very understated there. And then you talked about Malcolm's defense along with Jordan Hicks around Jordan read all game outstanding. Indeed, we haven't really talked at all about the run defense. Yeah, I mean the front four. Credit Cox, credit someone like Tim Journey and who obviously he got a sack, huge sack there in the second half. But also just the front four overall against the run, and I thought the

linebackers move around the ball. Jordan Hicks had a fumble recovery, he almost had sacked that was wiped out, but you saw him. You saw Michael Kendricks would probably the toughest hit of the day against Big Rob Kelly called they called fat, They called fat Rob. But but you know, Kendricks would have one lay in the wood. Bradham was overly aggressive, had some penalties out there, but still you saw him flying around the field. Should have had should

have had a pick six there. You know, missed a tackle on Chris Thompson on that touchdown there in the first half. But still, nonetheless, the front four did a great job of containing the line of scrimmage. And this is a Washington offensive line that has been that's pretty darn good. Okay. I know Trent Williams got rolled up on in the second half, so he might not have been one hundred percent, but Brandon Sheriff is a Pro Bowl guard. You know, Morgan Moses is in his own

as the other starting tackle. They've put together a pretty good offensive line, but Kirk Cousins had to that scrambling ability and that run game never got off the ground. So really it was all on Kirk Cousins and shoulders, and you know, he made the plays. But overall, I think the receivers and the tight ends are still trying to get in sync there in Washington, and the Eagles credited them for taking advantage here in week one. Yeah,

no doubt about it. I mean, I think what the Eagles were able to do on defense certainly helped disrupt with the Radskins wanted to do offensively, So you know, credit to the Eagles being aggressive. You know, Kirk Cousins is a guy who can't get the ball out of his hands quick if you're allowing to sit back there. And I thought Jim Schwartz did a nice job of mixing up when to bring an extra guy, when not to bring an extra guy. And then more importantly, those

guys up front and give them a lot of credit. Man, We put the spotlight on them to say, lead the charge, not only for the offense, I mean not only for the defense, but for the whole team. That's what the most has been invested from a position wise money and draft picks. I thought they said a nice tone. If this is what the defense is going to be like throughout the season, I think we're in for a h What can I say? Dang Green. That's that's hi, that's

that's high praise. You can feel good. You feeling good? Teeny bit on the Gang Green. Yeah, let me first week? Yes, of course, a week. If there's one player who we wish could play Washington weekend a week account zach Ertz, Yeah, okay, you talk about the security blanket. You know, all the talk has been about al Sean Jeffrey Tory Smith, the additions at wide receiver, overhaul in that position, giving Wentz

more weapons. But the security blanket in some key third down situations today was none other than a time himself. But we'll talk about more him in a bit. We're gonna send it defects Field and landover Maryland. Here from the victorious head coach Doug Peterson. What is Ronald Barby's injury and that's even well, I don't I don't know that necessarily. Um, obviously we'll get him examined when we get back to Philly, and I'll let you guys know tomorrow.

The game wasn't obviously perfect. The way your defense played to step up Fletcher Cocks, Jamlin Mills in the red zone. How proud of you of these defense, you know, especially the corner bable lot to prove you know. Yeah, I mean, you know, very very proud of the way the guys battled hung in there as you as you said, it wasn't a perfect game, but they played for sixty minutes and and and in these games like this you have to do that. And and uh, my hats off to

those guys on defense. They battled, they hung in there. Uh you know, kept our offense, uh you know, um in good situations when we took took the field. So great job on our defense. How did you think the offense played to the just Okay? Um, we made some plays, a lot of them were broken place. Um, we've got to obviously look at the film and make the make the corrections. Uh wasn't perfect. Um, too many breakdowns in in in some crucial situations. Some some drive killers, whether

it be a penalty or or sack. Those are things we've got to take a look at. But all in all, Um, we had some opportunities. You know, there's some opportunities down the field, which which is exciting, and those are things moving forward that that will will address and I'll try to make those us or those laterals. Are they the reward on those or the rest? Well, it that particularly you're referred to wasn't supposed to be lateral. It just happened to be a lateral in that situation. And it's

just based on what the defense presents. So, um, something we got to do a better job get fixed and uh um, just evaluate that situation. What does that mean that he might not throw backwards based on the police season be things. It's a it's a run actually quite honestly, Um, it's a run and then based on what the defense does,

he has the ability to throw it. Okay, Oh, you're not talking about whether where of course is what you're talking about what Nelson does with what he does when it gets against So with all the issues that Nelson and all the bunks that Nelson went do last year or in the come out in his game as the longest touchdown of his career have a career day, how much is this going to help his confidence and how

happy are you wing here? Yeah, you know, I obviously that first touchdown very excited for him and in the offense. But I think going forward his confidence level, um, and really really I've seen it all springing, all summer, and it's right right where I expected him to be. And he just carried it over into the game today and uh made some made some great plays and been third down plays um today and kept us on the field.

And UH, for him, him, this is a this is a great first step you know to uh being the type of receiver that we know he can be and will be for us and the reason why you know, the Eagles drafted him so alive. So he hung in there, took shot after shot after shot. Um extended a lot of plays with his legs, his athleticism and you know, um battle tested. You know, we saw it last year a little bit and and proving again today. I mean, uh,

give give the Redskins credit. They put put a lot of pressure on him and he was able to break some tackles, big strong, physical guy. His eyes were always downfield. Guys. Uh, Um, we're able to make some great plays once he was able to break the pocket. Yes, it did. Now I think I think it just is something that you know, we've been talking all week about, you know, kind of getting the monkey off our back, um down here and really against the branch skins and and particularly on the road.

You know, um, we haven't done so well, particularly last year. Just all week we kept talking about it and talking about it, and um, you know it it was just the old the old set up on the sideline and uh and got the bath. So uh appreciative of it. But uh yeah, a little stick what's executed about the resiliency the team obviously, and all of a a sudden you're

and you're behind some teams poled off shot. What does it say that, Well, it says a lot about the leadership and and and the way the guys hang in there. I mean, this team really believes in themselves and it really and we all feel like we can be a good football team. And uh, you know, we got to eliminate some stuff. I mean there's some there's some some crazy things that we gotta we gotta just eliminate, you know,

the penalties and turnovers and things like that. But at the same time that that locker room believes in one another, they rally around each other when guys like Darby go down or you know, uh, Jason Peter steps out. I mean, guys, guys step up and play. And that's what you gotta have in these games. If Darby's out for a while, that would be a big bloat of your defense. Do you then have to adjust anything offensively? You know, Yeah,

it's something we'll look at tomorrow. Obviously evaluate Darby c where he's at. I'm sure he'll miss some time obviously if the ankle. But um, you know, I think offensively, we just we just have to continue to do our thing. We just got to clean up in the run game. We got to get better in the passing game, shore

of the protection, and then defensively we'll be fine. You saw it today and um, you know jay le walk and stepped in and uh you know, battled out there and and uh you know, you get resouled and and McDougal now and and I get these guys ready to go. Um, is that a play argue in this game? And that kind of shows sure opponents that they can't plus their safety supposed they wants to me, it's it's a it's

an opportunity. Um. You know, obviously with the personnel and and with Carson and and play action pass and just being able to design shot plays down the field. Um. You know, coming into each game, you know you want to be able to do that. Um. You know you don't want the defense to play eight to nine in the box all the time and the safeties are low. So oh so, UM, you know we're going to continue, you know, to look at that find ways to get the ball down the field. Um. And we just missed

on a couple today that that could have been big hittersforce. Yeah, he tried to go in that third quarter. Um. You know, again, we'll evaluate him when we get back see where he's at. Um hopefully. Um, you know, it's just day to day and we'll get him. We'll get him this next Quaska. And yeah, Sturgis is another one we got to check out tomorrow. UM, give me more information tomorrow we get back to Philly. But it was part of the reason for going for two in that situation. Um and uh

we actually cute it and and got it. Well here's why. Obviously he wanted to big Peters and you're going into a game with Peters album lane play left and big play right or he still Yeah, you know something with Big V's versatility. Um, it just depends on how long JP would be out. You know, if it's uh, um, longer than a week or so, you might you might do that, you might consider Lane over there. But but if it's just a week to week, day to day thing, um, we'll get Big V the reps and he'll get ready

to go. New guys on this team already got hurt guys that didn't make it through the game. He used to remember when how they played over well number two. Did it seem like as the game progressed, the new guys seemed to sort of Yeah, I thought that they you know, I did it did a nice job for us, you know, the Garrett obviously on offense, and the two receivers for us, I mean, made some big plays down the field in the passing game, obviously in the running game,

and then on defense. How I thought, just you know, observing without watching the tape yet just um, you know what Tim Jurnagan was able to do up front hunt and and um you know, to get and and Darby was really early in the game was playing well, and um, you know, these guys are are a great additional star football team and um, we just gotta you know, each week it's a it's a it's a battle each week. You know, we got to come to work on Wednesday ready to go and and uh we just got to

continue to jail. Did you view up to playing end with cousins and Weather's arms going forward? You have? Did you have any expectation if you're waiting for everything. I'm just glad it was in our favor. You were able to find a couple of week from aforem and the players got the game or when it taste the flattery flatter taking a players to think that much? Yeah, and you know what I mean for me, it's uh, it's everything that I've been telling you guys. It's just asked

the players you know how they feel about me? And and uh, um you know, um, I just give this, give this wind. All the players in that in that locker room, they battled. They uh, they hung in there through adversity and we pulled the game out. You were able to find a couple of big plays, chunk plays. But Q was that an area? Is that something that you felt you wanted to see cars and do to take his game to the next move? Well, yeah, obviously you don't go in hoping your quarterback has to run

quite as much. But at the same time, it was a point of emphasis during the spring and training camp, you know, scrambled drills and things of that nature. We can an area that we could get better at. And uh, um it the hard work paid off. You know. Today, winters played after Gary went down, especially Thos kind of

come up and down there. Yeah. I thought they, uh, you know, the um those corners are on an island quite a bit, you know, and I thought both of them, you know, Jaylen when he came in and then uh yeah, Jaylen and then Jaylen Mills, what a big play you know when we needed it. Uh, a couple drives of Redskins had you know, our defense was on the field one time, and uh to come up with that turnover there at that time was was huge. And I thought they stepped in and uh and did a nice job.

It's one game any more significant, man. Now, well, you know we haven't played well, you know, and and especially here you know, this is this is a good football team. It's a tough place to crowd is into it, you know, and I think I think, uh, you know, losing five times. These guys kind of got the monkey off the back, so to speak, so I think that was part of it. Yeah,

all right, thanks guys. There's head coach Doug Pearson walking off the podium at FedEx Field in land Over, Maryland after the eagles thirty to seventeen victory over the Washington Redskins. So some news on the injury front. Ronald Darby, as we expected, we'll be out for an indefinite amount of time. Hopefully we'll be able to be back at some point later in the season. But the Eagles did recover well because he did get injured there in the first half.

One surprise one that I didn't pick up during the game, cab Sturgis apparently hurt his hip, so that's one of the reasons they went for two after the final touchdown on Fletcher Cox's fumble return score. So that might be one you have to watch in a week or so

coming up there. But nonetheless, the offense, Doug didn't go overboard in his praise of the offense, you know, saying there's some things he wants to clean up, and I think it's good that you want to take a step back and say there are a lot of things they can learn from this game. There are a lot of good things they did, but nonetheless they're gonna still need

to take the next step. They're still gonna need to improve down the line, whether it's in the run game to figure out how to get that going, whether it's a clean up some of the mistakes there they did have, you know, a couple of turnovers. Overall, though, you have to be very happy, as you said, Ike, with the way Carson Wentz and company opened the season, especially with so many new pieces in place. Yeah, and no doubt about it. Doug is probably speaking specifically about that offensive

line play. I mean, I'll start with the running game. The fact that the Eagles I believe I went fifty four or fifty eight yards rushing today. Some of that Carson Wentz is doing twenty three twenty four attempts. That's not going to get it done. You know, they tried to commit to the run. You gotta get you gotta produce yardage if you're gonna run into football. And then Carson under pressure at times to day, you know, we can applaud him for being able to escape some of

that pressure and make some things happen. You don't want to make a living doing that. Though, you don't want to make a living doing that. And when the play breaks down, the structure of the play breaks down. Now he has to improvise. You're gonna hit your targets sometimes on those, but more often than not. That's a win for the defense if they can get you off your

mark and get you under pressure. So we had a little bit of that leakage from the offensive line today, and I'm sure that's one of the things offensively that Doug wants to get cleaned up. They knew that the resumes were going to bring the pressure. I mean, Washington is a pressure based defense. You look back to last season, you know, they really Harry Wentz on the third down situations.

I thought that's probably the biggest difference when you look at how Wins performed as a rookie to this year, was how he handled those third down situations. Did you say eight to fourteen on third down today? You know? And some of those plays, you know, you have the touchdown Nelson Agilore, you have a key third down and long conversion to tour Smith later in the game, another one to zach Ertz where he against the one to al Sean indeed, so they came on some clutch plays.

His ability to move in the pocket buying time. Again, that's the biggest difference, and that's when you look back to last season. The biggest silver line of last year is the fact that Carson Wentz got to play the

sixteen games. What if you know, we go back in time and they have the situation where Carson Wentz doesn't play, has the wrench your ear, whatever you want to call it, and then all of a sudden, this is his first game and then he's probably like a deer in headlights and you're seeing what we saw a year ago happen today, where now you can fast forward and accelerate the development a little bit by knowing the fact that he's seen what teams are going to throw at him, he has

an understanding of it. And this I think came up with the broadcast. His situational football percentages will go up much more because he understands the time. He understands when he has to move the ball down to field, get in the up tempo, like we saw at the end of the first half when they were able to get that fifty yard field goal. We also saw him in their down situations be so much better. All of that is a result of being able to play and take his lumps a year ago, so that again you know

that he's a leader on this football team. You know he can handle the pressure. You know he has the talent, the ability now that he's a year into the system, and again he has the pieces around him to help him grow and make that leap a little bit easier

to make. So to speak, Yeah, no doubt about it, and I agree with everything you said there, But I gotta tell you, Chris, it's something about this kid that even if this were his first start, he would have found a way to have turned sitting out a year learning from the sideline, getting an understanding of the offense and how things work in the National Football League from the sideline, he would have turned that into his advantage.

I believe that's just how good he is, and no matter when he stepped on the field, he was going to have success. It's just a matter of putting the right pieces around him and allowing him to flourish. There's not a quarterback in this league that can have success if you don't have good talent around him. And that starts with guys upfront protecting him and then having guys on the perimeter that when it's time to make plays,

he can get the ball to them. So you know, as long as they did what they did this offseason, you know Carson Wentz, and I mean by bringing in Tory Smith, Alshon, Jeffrey La Garrett Blunt. Whenever Carson stepped on the field, he was going to be successful. It was just a matter of how successful he would be. And I think this is just the first of many games this season and many years to come that will

be marveling at his play. Four and oh in the month of September, go back to the first three games of last year where Wentz earned NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month honors. Everyone was all high on a high after the three o start. Well, September is a good thing, been a good time for the Eagles to as far Doug Peterson Carson Wentz a perfect four. No. Now, as much as we talk about the new faces Alshan to Let, etc. It's the old guys coming back. The length of Zach Ertz,

the trusty, reliable veteran and Darren Sproles. We haven't talked to anything about him. He was a guy who was putting bubble wrap basically all preseason saying, you, we know what this guy's gonna do. We know he's gout's body ready, mentally, he's sharp. We just need to get him into the season. There is no point of adding any additional wear tear

on him. It's let's get him to the season. And you got to see the way that he was unbailed in the offense today, both the Russian game, but more importantly at the receiving game and some of the cuts that he made. I still marvel at no matter his size, you know how long he's been the league. The experience that he is still able to make key plays in his offense helped move the chains and be a matchup

nightmare for a defense. Is because he could be lined up anywhere and do so many things for Carson Wentz and company. Yeah, no doubt about it. Man. You know, I wish I could say with a straight face that we're looking at a future Hall of Famer. But the league is still slow to catch up to what this phase of the game means to the game overall. And I'm talking about the third phase of the game, the

all purpose yardage phase of the game. Darren Sproles eighth in the history of this game in total yardage from skirmish. You know, bringing him out of bubble bubble wrap for the first game, you knew what you were gonna get. He's gonna take advantage of the opportunities that you give him. As the season goes along, you know Sprows is going to be heard from weekend in week out. He had a big screenplay to put the Eagles in good field position to help them convert what I believe was second

in twenty six. Right now we wind up converting it on third down. So good to see the old man back out there. Still has the moves, still puts fear and the opposing team's kicking game whenever you decide to kick the ball to him, and even when he's not returning, kicks his decision making back there. When the fair catch the ball, when the letter ball bounce, all those things save your yardage. You know, we're looking at a guy who should be wearing a gold jacket at some point.

But like I said, this league is slow to catch up and appreciate what those guys that brought to the game. Interesting bring up the third phase, because that is where to me, the overwhelmingly won this football game today because you look at Jamison Crowler's muff hunt, you look at the jail, the Watkins ability to pin the ball at the one yard line. I know the Redskins had a ball down at the five yard line of their own

there during the course of the game. Cab Sturgis, you know, he had the extra pointments but bounced back with the fifty yard field goal. Had three field goals on the day, So credit to him. Hopefully he'll be able to go next week. But that was an area that was a little bit of a concern in the preseason. But I think everyone step back and said, guys, this is the biggest example of it's just preseason. Dave phipp as guy the best special teams unit in the league two out

of the last three years. You knew that he would have his guys ready, even though that some of the parts are changing, and that phase is always changing. You're always waiting to see who are going to be those bomb of the roster guys you'll have at your disposal. Who's even gonna be active on gamey game day that you could throw in there. But he had the crew ready to go, and again they capitalized on some miscues by Washington and really help set the tone to help

the Eagles get this thirty to seventeen victory. Yeah, I'm never overly concerned about Dave Phipps. Guys. You know, he's the one of the three coordinators that has the toughest job because he doesn't know who's going to be a core guys weekend and week out, and let alone, you get a couple of injuries in the game. Now you gotta play guys who aren't used to playing in certain areas. You knew once you got to the regular season he would identify his core guys that's gonna be out there,

and I'm not surprised at all. They came out today. Great job covering kicks, good kickoffs by Caleb Sturgis. You talked about the field goals that he hit Donnie Jones. Nice punts, guys covering the ball down there. Jamison Crowder is a very sneaky, electrifying punt returner. So you get the ball in his hands, he can make things happen.

All right, We're now gonna get ready to send it back over to fex Field to hear from the man who had a three hundred your performance through for a pair of touchdowns in the eagles thirty and seventeen win. And that's none other than the quarterback entering his second year in the NFL. That is the one and only Carson Wentz. Cos I don't think the winner is he and him start the season off raining, but in Washington and Washington that's gonna be. Yeah, obviously, I'm egan for us.

You know, last year we struggled on the road. I'm couldn't ask for a better opportunity to come down here a divisional rival like this. I mean, it was so cool being out there. The Eagles fans showed up in an amazing form, you know, hearing the Eagles chant at the end. I mean they traveled so well. So Um, that made it a lot of fun to play out there and getting this season off started like this. It

feels really good. Of that first touchdown. Ye just looked like it was a kind of improvise at that point. And how watch you of that as a result of practice and how much of it's just instay? Yeah, I mean a lot of it, honestly is instinct. Um. They ran a good coverage and UM, just kind of things broke down and I just made plays. But that's something we've talked about all off season is just hey, guys never never die out there, just always stay alive. Get open.

And Nelson did a great job, and I think we had a couple other guys open as well. UM, and that's just a big thing that that will kind of continue to continually work on, UM and it'll be a big part of our game. I guess that's news to me. So I don't know a good question. Um, you Devens played fantastic. So the three fours forms and it in a sption. How huge were they today? Defense is huge? You know, defense is huge. I mean we know what

those guys can do. So we just got a limit our turnovers, limit our mistakes, stay on the field and put those guys in good situations because they're gonna get their job done in and they did a great jobs. There's been a lot of fun last year about what was going on with Nelson and it looks like this offseason though, was confident and holds out today and shows it how much of a good step in the COO. First game is is for Nelson, rolling four especially, Yeah,

I think it's big for him. I think it's big for him. But but honestly, going back to the offseason, I just saw a more confident player. I saw he was working and we were always talking about what he can do differently, different things, and um, just kind of see it just a new confident player and starting season off the way he did today, Um, it was huge for him. It seemed like he went to the guys who've been here before, it's a lot more of them

to newer receivers. What do you attribute that to? That was just part of the way they played it, you know, their defense, I mean kind of took some things away on the outside of the time lines, and um, you know it was just kind of all part of of how how the offense work today. But um, we're at

the same time not worried about it. Not Tory and al Sean will will get there's Um it was just again kind of something that that their defense did well today on the on the scrambled Pacey can you kind of tie defense such as the series covered for so long and all of a sudden totally totally I mean, yeah, that's that's tough on on you know, the secondary. Um, anytime a quarterback and is just extend plays and and

find guys down field. I mean they have to cover for a long time and that can be really frustrating. UM talking to our defense a lot during the spring and just how frustrating that is. UM. So again, that's something that we just got to keep developing and be on the same page. How pressure take it'll take off the offense with Lets your cops just be still fun. Yeah, obviously, Fletcher, I mean Churn again was it was a great addition to the off scene for us. UM. You know that

whole defense is an amazing job. We know we have an incredible front four with with depth as well. UM. You know, obviously losing Derby today, prayers will be with him and we'll see kind of what what that was. But you know, we know our defense is extremely talented. You know, we've we've gone up against him now for for way too long, so it's good to finally get a weak one here. But UM, yeah, again, we know

those guys will take care of their business. I think it just opens things up, and I think it opens things up. Obviously we've missed um the first play the game to Tori. Um and I just overthrew him on the other one. But um, I think it'll nonetheless team see that, UM, and it will open some things up underneath. You know, I think Art's had had a big game today and and that's something that just having those elements will will continue to open things up for Sprowls, for Art's,

for Nelson in the slot and some different things. So that's a big part of our game. First scrambled just then example just an example of you too, probably you know again that kind of just all came down to that improvised you know, play broke down had a free rusher, um, and he was just on on the same page as me. He saw the open open zone there to to just

kind of take advantage of it. And um again, that's something that we've all arts with with Nelson, with Tori, with Alshan, it really everybody that we've all just kind of worked on. Is I always just aim in there and never never died, never quit out there and never quit plays, never dead. So that's a big, big part of us what we do. Do you think you're better at keeping your eyes down the field? Now, obviously that's a big part of those plays. Keeping down Um, I

think it's just a comfortability thing. You know, I would say I probably am a little better. It's it's something. Um, there's a fine line though. Sometimes there's a time you just gotta take off and get what you can get, and um, you know you're never gonna be perfect. But in those times, instincts really take over. But I do feel confident with we just keep my eyes downfield and making plays when they're there. About the running game to day, look like it didn't quite ever get in here? What

do you think was here? Yeah, I mean they did a good job. You know, hats out to Washington. They did a good job. And uh, you know, I think we had some things there. Um, you know, I guess I don't know that. I think Washington just said I had a good game plan. But at the end of the day, we made enough plays to win. You got a lot of questions about Alshon and Tory already. What's that kind of what's the chemistry between you guys, and how does it feel to play with two wide receivers

that have such experienced in the enup already? Obviously it feels great. You know, I don't know what their numbers were today, Um, but at the end of the day, we know that what they can do. We know what they bring to our offense. Obviously Tory with his with his deep thread um, and then al Sean just his big playability. Um, we know what they can do. UM. So whether they get there's numbers wise or not, we know what they're doing to defense, and UM, defense have

to kind of respect them as well. So I feel really good, really feel really comfortable with those guys as well. At what is mac Hollands brings the offense. Yeah, he brings some versatility. You know, he brings a big play, big body as well. You know, he's got some range to him. UM, So he can do a little bit of everything. He can go in the slide, he can play Z, he can play x UM and he's just a solid guy to you know, if somebody goes down, he can jump in and kind of not miss a beat.

When you balance plays on offense today, especially the offic get of plays versus a couple of mistakes he turnovers, which your bottom line assessment of bill ball beforeward too and the offense. Yeah, at the end of the day, we won. You know, we made enough plays to win. Um, are there things that we left the field totally. You know, we made some mistakes to turn over some different things here and there. We gotta get those fixed, but we made enough plays to win, so we're gonna enjoy that

first play the game As an offense. What kind of tone is that set for? What you gotta say? Yeah, I think that just shows that we're aggressive. Coaches is gonna be aggressive. We're gonna be aggressive. We're not gonna just sit back and wait. You know, we're gonna try and try and make plays early and early and often. And I love that about coach Peterson, you know. I love the way he called the game today. Um came and out aggressive right away and m kind of just

stayed on. Thank you, thank you, all right. Carson Wentz addressing the media after the thirty to seventeen win, they talk about the soup game being strong and the open things up. That's the mark the franchise quarterback. Come on, now, you gotta start the season now exactly. You know, no no dirty T shirts or like that. You know, we gotta make the soup game strong. So props to him. One thing about Carson, he's not getting the call shit. I think that's a true Marco where you're at in

your status in the NFL. Is the fact that he's not getting the calls like that intentional I'm gonna say the intentional grounding call, which I think other quarterbacks in league we have got that. That's the point I'm trying to make. So he's not quite that point yet. He's getting there, just not yet. All right, We're gonna take our first break here on the post game Show presented

Today mcdals introduces the new signature craft at Saracha Sandwich made with a new Saracha Max sauce with a kick of spice. All right, welcome back to the show everyone. So we

heard from Doug Pearson, we heard from Carson Wentz. One guy, I'm gonna give a little bit of props to here, Jeff statalin offensive line coach, and you might be saying, you know, there's a lot of pressure on Carson Wentz today, but big v to see how far he's come in a year where you know, he had up and down performance but again to be called off the bench, thrown into left tacks. Never played left tackle. Okay, this is a guy who started a bunch of games at right

tackle last year. We all don't need to bring back the demons of Ryan Kerrigan in the year ago. First career started at Washington, acquit himself nicely as the season went on. I think everyone who was kind of had seered into their minds at first performance at Washington and kind of you know that tainted their thoughts on just a little bit, but to come in there in the drop of a hat and to showcase the depth that Statalin has helped develop this offseason. Because a lot of

people said, well, Eagles went light offensive line, only eight guys. Well, this is a reason right here. But having a guy like Bye Tie who can be at swing tackle to do both right and the left side. Yeah, you're absolutely right. I mean, Big V deserves a lot of credit being able to go in there for Jason Peters and you're telling about playing left tackle. He hadn't had a lot

of reps over there playing left tackle. But you certainly don't want to move Lane Johnson in the middle of the game from the right side to the left side. You want to keep him in his comfort zone. But I gotta get a big veal a lot of credit. Did a nice job going in At first glance, I didn't see much pressure coming from his side on that left side, so and he'd be interested to see once you go back and watch the film and how well

he was able to do over there. But either way, I think going in there in the heat of the moment, being able to hold your own I think that shows how much he's grown. And like you said, give credit to Jeff Stoutlin, the offensive line coach, for having him prepared to go at a moment's notice. Big thing here for me coming out of this talk him aout vitie. You'll get jal Mills another second of year guy, key second of year guy step up in a big way.

We talk about the interception, but you mentioned the pass affection he had against Terrell Pryor in the end it as well helping keep points off the board there for the Eagles. Wendell Smallwood not a ton of plays, but he had a key third down in short pass reception there in the second half to help move the chains and that was sort of the knock on him coming out West Virginia. Would he be a guy you could

count on to be a three down back? I think the coaches kind of figured when they first selected him first and second down, he'll be good. You know, he's a good talent out of the backfield, can run the ball nicely, but can we trust him in those third

down passing situations. The fact that the Eagles could trust him to be in there and for him to convert in a big way like that really will help him moving forward, to help him get that sense of confidence and get things rolling, because you know, we saw Garribelone out there today, We saw dawn sprowles. They're gonna need to feed when they're small with the ball throughout the course of the season. Here, you know, you're looking blunt to be your short yardage. You're inside the ten yard

type of guy. I don't know if there's a true feature back on this roster. Smallwood showed the most juice to me during training camp in the preseason. When healthy, that's gonna be the big question for him. But if he can remain healthy and get on the field in these third down situations, I think that will help, you know, go a big way in his development. No, I agree, And it was nice to see him out there. And guy was banged up in training camp a little bit.

But he's that guy that's going to be the change of pace guy, the guy that can can run inside or outside and as you mentioned, playing on third down, being able to catch the ball out of the backfield. But the biggest thing he's gonna have to do on

those passing situations is be able to pass protect. You know, when the defense is bringing extra pressure when they're Smallwood has to recognize where that pressure is coming from, be able to step up, be stout in there as a pass blocker and keep that heat off of Carson Wentz. But I tell you one thing with this offense, and I'm recognizing with Doug Peterson and Frank Reich, nothing's gonna be given to these running backs. You're gonna have to earn it. The only thing that will be given is

the opportunity. And when an opportunity is given to you, you had better make the most of it. So whichever back is making the most of those opportunities and has eating up positive yardage, those are the guys that Doug Peterson is going to ride the hot hand with. Another

example of just how important the draft is. Okay, we talk about the second year player step up a big way today, but you go back to twenty first round pick Brandon Graham twenty twelve, your first round pick Fletcher Cox, both converge on the basically the play that sealed the win for the Philadelphia Eagles. We're gonna send it now

to the RICO whiteboard for the Rico Review. As Greco Sell from NFL films and fran Duffy breakdown the all twenty two of the sack fumble created by Brandon Graham and the twenty yard touchdown return by one and only Fletcher Cox, and that final play of course, the Fletcher Cox sack fumble of bumble recovery takes it back for a touchdown, a huge play for the Eagles defense to really secure this victory. And Greg it happens in the negative territory. Washington has the ball deep in their own

end and this was a big situation for the Eagles defense. Yeah, very big. And you know, it reminds me of what Bill Walts used to say back when he was the coach of the forty nine ers that one of the biggest things in the NFL is pass rush in the fourth quarter. And he was speaking about that without blitzing, you need you're down for to be able to win and rush the quarterback. And that's exactly what happens here.

And not only does Fletcher Cox win inside, but you see Brandon Graham win against Morgan Moses and by the way, in the fourth quarter, he gave Moses a real tough time the entire game. And I know you feel that watching this that you talk to Fletcher Cox and would you say, would he say his favorite move was? I asked Fletcher Cox a couple of years ago, I said, Fletcher, what's your favorite pass rush move? And he said very quickly the hands wipe And you see him win with

the hands wipe. There wipe the hands of Brandon sharf Away, he sneaks inside, you get the sack fumble, he picks it up. Shows off that athlete. So what do we see in this game? Overall? We saw Carson Wins making some plays outside or structure outside of the pocket, something he's very good at. And we saw the defense coming up big with pressure both with blitz and with straight form and pass rush. I think it's a good formula for success. Obviously, some things for the Eagles to work

on here moving forward. It's Week one of the regular season, but you have to be excited about what you saw from this Eagles team on both sides of the football. No question, big win on the road for this Eagles team inside a vision, great start for this twenty seventeen season. How how would you describe the shirt color by frand there Ike I would I would call that either green bean, green, forest green or throw up green. That's rough fight. Go to Philadelphia Eagles dot com slash Toyota Player of the Week to cash your vote and get a chance at a brand new Toyota. So the question now is who are the

Player of the week nominees to vote for. We'll start with the cornerback himself, number eleven, Carson Wentz throwing for over three hundred yards. You know, beautiful way to start the game with a fifty eight yard touchdown where he eluded the pressure baland Nelson Agilore somehow, some way, aglare credit to him. Ade Dj Swertinger miss on his way to the end zone, but Wentz. Great job using the deep throws, the short throws, converting on third down. Overall,

very very good. The one interception that was returning for a touchdown, it was bad to last cribage tip all type situation. Yeah, no doubt about it. Can't argue with you there. Carson Wentz. Phenomenal game for him today. Great job coming out leading the troops when he had to make plays with his legs, he was able to do that. Love the fact that he's still growing as a quarterback man. He is still growing. He hasn't even reached the Tippany Iceberger.

What he's gonna be nice start to Carson Wentz's twenty seventeen season. All right, we'll say it was offense for the second nominee. And there's none other than a tight end zach Ertz. And there should be one of those maxims where when the Eagles play in Washington or against Washington, you must start zach Ertz as your fantasy tight end.

And he was, you know, some sneaky you know, was building up stats are on, but really he was just the go to guy whenever, whenever Wentz needed to move the chains, whenever he needed to boil a pressure Erz was a go to guy. And you know, all the talk has been made about what would his role be because last year he was the featured guy. Now that you've got alshon Tory, what would he be. He's still going to be the go to guy and things are going to open up for him more. I thought did

a great job of taking advantage of the opportunities. It seemed like anything in his direction he was getting his hands on. Yeah, no doubt about is zach Ertz off to a great start, improving. One of my predictions for this season about him that we know we talked about a breakout season for zach We've said that for a couple of years. But the reality is he's Carson Wentz a safety blanket. You know what they did last year the second half of the season. People think it's just

zach Ertz coming alive in the second half. Well, he was banged up in the first half, right after the first game where he broke a collar ball, I believe, and so I thought they started to catch rhythm late in the season. How about today, eight targets, eight receptions for zach Ertz, all to a great start. I predicted he would leave the team in receptions this year. I actually want to go and research the staff because since the midpoint of last year, everyone thinks it's all December.

It was basically since November the last eight or nine games. Last air nine games, he was second in the league among all players to Jordi Jordy Nelson in the receptions. Well, he had another big day today, he might be first going back to that time frame. So it's not just December. Is when zach Ertz shines and the last one of the guy who ran it in to seal the game, Bletcher Cox. Earlier in the game he had a sap a sack in a strip which led to a fumble

recovery by Jordan Hicks. Well, here he makes the big play where he takes advantage of the great play made by Brandon Graham getting to the quarterback forcing the ball out. Cox very alert and just to athleticism for someone who's over three hundred pounds to be able to move down the field the way he does. You know, he's the big money guy there on that defensive line. He's the engine that drives at defense. He knows it, he embraces it, and he came up with the touchdown to put the

game away today. Yeah, no doubt about. He could have gone with either, Zach. I mean, you could have either gone with Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, I mean Tim Journey and having a sack over there. So the great thing is that d line had a lot of production and the fact that Fletcher Cox is leading the charge and like you said, he's the big money man over there.

Microscope's gonna be on his plate. Is good to see Fletcher as well, get off to a good start, a couple of sacks, a couple of farmer recoveries, and a touchdown. Big man dancing in the end zone exactly he could. He was like, the celebration rules are changed, I could take advantage of the Now, that's what I'll get into

the end zone. So we reviewed the win. Now we start to look ahead to what's on the horizon for the Eagles, and we're gonna take a look at the upcoming schedule presented by NFL Ticket Exchange powered by Ticketmaster. For the only one hundred percent verified way to buy or sell NFL tickets, visit NFL ticket exchange dot com. All right, this first quarter of the season was already doozy. Opening up on the road at Washington, we knew all the issues they are going into this game. They cleared

that hurdle. Well, what awaits them? Going to Kansas City? Doug Peterson, Andy Reid and the Chiefs coming off beaten the defending champion New England Patriots in their house to start off the season. And then, last but not least, the Chiefs have a mini buy the kick things off already. So they've been sitting at home for four days, just saying all right, well we got coming up. We've got the scouting report now under way. Yeah, no doubt about it.

This thing won't be easy. No, we're playing the AMC West, so you already know. Of those four teams, you got four tough games. Going to Arrowhead will be no easy task of getting to victory. But here's here's why I like this game. Okay, you got both teams coming off huge road wins. Obviously, the Chiefs have a few more days the rest. They played Thursday night up there in New England. Got a big win up there. Happy for

Big Red. But I want to see the Eagles come back off of winning a big game on the road against a divisional opponent. You know, you have to match the Chiefs energy next week when you go out the Arrowhead, they'll be pumped up it. It'll be their first home game. If the Eagles can go out there and withstand the early barrage that the Chiefs are gonna throw at them, I mean they will hit you early and often and

hope that you fold. I want to see how the Eagles respond early in this game and make this thing a fourth quarter game. I like our chances in the fourth quarter, we get this game to the fourth quarter. I like our chances. You look at the Chiefs, they lost their playmaker at safety, Eric Barry for the season with the achilles injury. The Eagles have lost Ronald darbyfore, you know, an extended amount of time. So that's gonna

be something to watch in the matchup. And can the Eagles slow down this all of a sudden explosive offense. That's the biggest thing. And that's really the story for both teams. When you go to last year. You look at the Chiefs, they didn't really have those dynamic playmakers. Travis Kelcey one of the best tight ends in the game. Alex Smith is old mister reliable, but you really didn't say,

who's the guy that strike fear in you? Tyree Kill now has the ability Kareem Hunt after that amazing rookie record setting debut after he fumbled out of his first carry, went on and at over two hundred all purpose yards. So again, a lot to contain there, but you know what, that's for another day and join this week. We are we're gonna from the twenty four hour room. We might need to extend it just a little bit, so it's great to know after week one Beagles will be no

worse tie for first place. Of course, the Giants and the Cowboys play each other on Sunday Night Football tonight, so that would be a good one to watch. But if you're looking for more Eels coverage, look, I get back upstairs. We've got to play of stories, more videos coming your way. We're gonna have that throughout the night here in Philadelphiagas dot Com and the Eagles Mobile app,

and then join us tomorrow. As I mentioned again the All twenty two review with Fran Duffy, Great Cosell, Doug Pearson's day after press conference live here at noon and Eagles three to sixty. We're gonna have Dave Spanaro and Brian Westbrook breaking down the wind from all angles. So Ike, we get to hear you on the air tomorrow. Let fans know where they could check you out. Two six ninety four w I P. Carlin and Reese. We're having all all covered for you. Victory victory. That's a new

thing for me this year. The victory. I didn't know if that was a two be Like, are we getting ahead of ourselves for next week? Maybe next week we get into that, but we'll take the v there. The biggest thing Eagles are one to know. They beat the Redskins by score thirty of the seventeen For I Crease, I'm Chris McPherson. You've been watching the postgame show presented by Rico. Everyone, have a great Eagles night.
