On the road to victory. Look at that the Eagles, on a short week go down to Carolina and knock off the Panthers twenty eight to twenty three to improved to five and one on the season, four and zero in the conference. Welcome to the postgame show for Jane Barrico. I'm Chris McPherson alongside former Eagles linebacker I Greas. Wow, what a game. So much to unpack from this one. A lot of analysts didn't think the Eagles could go down to Charlotte facing a red hot Panthers team that

was also four and one. Gotta raise my hand, I was one. I heard you on the radio on the radio this afternoon. Facing Cam Newton, red hot, almost seven hundred passing yard, six touchdowns the last two games seem like he was coming into that twenty fifteen MVP self once again. Well, the Eagles get the job done, three interceptions and stand up at the end forcing the turnover Undowns to come out with the victory thanks to two key turnovers in the red zone, which both led to

Zach Ertz touchdowns from Carson wentz Ike. The Eagles have an eleven day layoff until they come back home Monday, the twenty third, to face to watch their risques five and one. How about that? I mean, just an incredible win to go on the road on a short week planning against the team that's been planned just as well as the Eagles have been planned so far this year. The Carolina Panthers came into this game on a little bit of a hot streak with two impressive wins on

the road. I thought this would be a tough one for the Eagles. Great news prior to the game, starting getting Fletcher Cox back, he set the tone early for the way this defense was gonna play. They were in Cam Newton's face all night long, forcing turnovers and that's really where this ball game was won, on the defensive side of the ball. With forcing turnovers shorten the field for your offense, giving them opportunities to go up against

this stout Carolina Panthers defense. Now, the Panthers defense top five and both run and pass, and so you're gonna need short fields to work against this team. And the Eagles defense was able to get that for their offense tonight, and then their offense was able to capitalize on it with getting touchdowns instead of field goals. Tonight. Just a great performance by this team. And when you're gonna win

like this, it starts with the head man. Kudos to Doug Peterson for having his guys ready to play once again. I don't know how much doubt is remaining out there about Doug as a head coach, but tonight should have raced all doubt as to whether or not this guy has the chops to coach in this league? Can he get his guys ready to play in a big game. Great job from Doug and his coaching staff on a short week having his team ready to go. They looked

like the more aggressive team tonight. They looked like the fresher team tonight, and it showed in their play. Carolina was sloppy on offense, Eagles took advantage of them on defense. Wow, I thought, listen, I thought last week's win against I mean Sunday's win against the Cardinals was impressive. To go on the road against this football team, This is a big win. This is a statement. It seemed like on

Sunday we were saying that was a statement win. To demolish a team like the Arizona Cardinals of veteran leaden team coming to your house. You jump on them early, you stay on them throughout the course of the game, and you don't let them back into it. Everyone said, Wow, that was a signature moment. Phenomenal performance by Carson Wentz. Great job by Doug Peterson. But four days later to follow it up with that type of effort, Doug Peterson

you mentioned, deserves a ton of kudos. One of the moments I loved in that game was after the Eagles for the two point conversion. Okay, all the guys coming up to him on the sideline, Yo's great job, Thanks for making a call. Thanks for believing in us. He has the pulse of his players, and he has these guys playing at such a high confident level right now. They believe in him. He believes in all of them.

For him to put his faith in there, he took point off the board, which proved to be a critical and as jucture, you don't do that typically in this league, and he did it penalty on Panther's one yard line. I love the fact that he had a two point play in his bag ready to go. These coaches have talked about that in the past, that if you're gonna put the if you're gonna put the ball at the

one yard line, They're gonna go for two. I thought that was just another reinforcement Doug to his players when he said sky's the limit last week, after that Panther I mean, after that Cardinal's victory. You can tell his players believe the sky is the limit. And now we're all starting to believe it as well. Wow. So in a little bit we're gonna hear from the Victoria's head coach Doug Pearson at Bank of America's Stadium down there

in Charlotte, as well as from quarterback Carson Wentz. First, we're gonna bring in the other two members of our broadcast here NFL Films, see your producer Greg co Sell and Fran Duffy to unpack this huge win over the Carolina Panthers in three two. Well, thank you see McK and ike and Greg. No one said it would be easy going into Charlotte taking on this FOURM one Carolina Panthers team, and the Eagles come away with a huge victory on the road again, their third road win of

this young season. Initial takeaways from the game. Let's start offensively. I hate these dull and interesting games. The blood Press. We gotta worry about that. But you know, I think offensively, you have to continue to look at the development of Carson Wins. He goes on the road. This is a really good Carolina team, a really good Carolina defense, even

without Luke Keekley, and just his poisoned critical moments. That touchdown drive that made it I believe twenty eight sixteen when they had the third and was at sixteen, I believe her. And then he completes that to Hollands and then that starts him being four for four on that drive for eighty one yards ending with the touchdown. So just the poise in critical moments in a game in which he was under major arrests, starting right from the

beginning of the game. Yeah, no question. The last two weeks beforehand against the Arizona Cardins and the LA Chargers, I felt like Wentz was really in a group. Yeah, it wasn't always that way. Tonight, No, tonight was not easy. I thought he missed some throws, relatively rout chaine throws

that NFL quarterbacks need to make. But I think his composure is really it's wonderful to watch because you lose track of the fact that what was this is twenty second NFL start, and you know they've just won their third road game in six games in this season. And to go and win on the road no matter the opponent, and this was a high level opponent. To do that requires poise, composure, game management awareness, understanding situations, knowing what

you can do, knowing what your teammates can do. This is really strong development by Carson Wentz and Greg. You and I talked about all week long, whether it was on Eagles Game Plan, whether it was on The Eagle and of the Sky podcast, about this Carolina Panthers offense and all the layers, all the blackfield action we saw the screen game was very effective for them today. The Eagles did a really good job of bottling up that

offensive attack. Fletcher Cox's return, I thought was in game helped create the interception that really kind of swung the momentum back in the Eagles favor for Razul Douglas. Talk about what you saw from the defense watch it on TV. Well, I think it also all starts with their run defense, because Carolina at its course still wants to run the football. I mean, yes, they can throw the ball down the field and be effective because Cam Newton has a big

arm and can make those throws. But this is a team that wants to run the football and they couldn't run at all. I think it one stretch and it might have been his longest run of the game. Jonathan Stewart had a three yard run and that was a big game tonight. And then McCaffrey had a four yard run and everybody said, wow, that was their longest run of the night. So it starts up front. They didn't blitz a lot, so I think you have to give true mendous credit to that down four. It's a lot

of depth, a great rotation. They were really strong tonight. Eagles lost Jordan Hicks halfway through this game. Nigel Bradham was outstanding, stand couple of huge styles. Joe Walker I thought stepped in and did well too, Absolutely no question about it. So the Eagles had some injuries, but we get Fletcher Cox back, it'll be very interesting as we go into this long week now. Preferring for the Washington Redskins, We've got a lot more to break down. Let's go

back to Smack and Ike. Great point there by Frann and Gregor regarding the run defense, Okay, outside of some of the misdirection elements. Cam Newton using his legs, which we hadn't really seen much of this year. Wish you knew coming to the game, forced them undun the ball. It's Christian McCaffrey. Eight rushing yards. Yeah, Jonathan Stewart negative four on the game, Kurs Samuel eight rushing yards. I mean basically outside of Cam Newton seventy one rushing yards.

He had the sixteen yard touchdown, the longest run of the game for them, they had nine rushing yards. I'm running back to nine rushing yards. This run defense talked about Michael Kendricks, Nigel Bradle I thought was phenomenal and had a key, key third down stop where Ed Dixon caught the pastor's one yard shore of the first down marker. Benny Curry very strong against the run. And I love the depth that you're seeing from the line because in the key moments there at the end of the game,

you're seeing Chris Long, You're seeing Derek Barnett. How about Derek Barnett bounce it back from that penalty first gets the first sack tonight in a huge, huge situation there. I mean bo Allen stepping up. Fletcher Cox. I mean, Fletcher Cox just he showed why he got paid all of that money tonight by setting a tone like you mentioned and just taking over the middle of the line there, winning up front there. I'll be I don't think the Eagles win this game without Fletcher Cox tonight. That's just

how I mean. Listen, great job from our defensive line and the depth guys the last two weeks planned without electrics, they were able to hold it down, but you could tell just from a quarterback opposing quarterback standpoint, they were too comfortable in the pocket the last couple of weeks, and we got shredded at times. And this is the impact that a cornerstone franchise type of defensive player has

on your defense. You started early in the game where he was able to collapse the pocket, hit Cam Newton force an interception early, I mean, and it set the tone for what that defense was gonna play like early, having this big guy back. He's only getting credit for half a sack to night, but I thought he was around Cam Newton all night. And then it forced that Panther's offensive line to focus so much attention on him.

It allowed the guys on the outside to be effective as well, and then our young guys on the back end, Razul Douglas, Jalen Mills. Great job of those guys being opportunistic on the back end getting interceptions. There had a couple of chances for other ones as well. Patrick Robinson, I still think he's been an unsung hero all season long with the way that he's played, played much higher

than most people expecting him coming in. It's sort of a quiet free agent signing this offseason, but he's found his niche in his defense as a nickel guy and he's making plays every week being a solid defender, so truly an all around effort. You lose a guy like Jordan Hickson, you don't know how that's going to impact your defense. So guys like Joe Walker, nag Good who had to come in and fill in. We lost Nigel Bradham for a little while to night. Michael Kendricks had

to play more snaps seventeen tackles for the Angry Bird tonight. Listen, I'm pumped up as a linebacker because these guys were flying around everywhere to night, and that's what you want to say. And then we heard a lot of talk about the Panthers defense coming in the night, and rightfully so, you know they are a good defense, and I think when that type of stuff proceeds a game, our defense takes notice and they want to come out there and show, hey,

it's more than one. Good defense is going to take the field tonight. And I guarantee you Cam Newton and that offense realized they were up against it tonight when they had to see the game green running around, eleven heads, flying to the ball, that's the way you played championship defense.

I'm just so impressed at the level of intensity that this team played with tonight on such a short week when quite frankly, it would have been very understandable had they left out of this game, would have lost, it would have been understandable. But they weren't having it. They went down there with one purpose that was to get a w Kudos to this team and the coaching staff.

It got to the point at the end of the game where if the Panthers came back, he said, you know what, great effort by the Eagles for three and a half quarters, just couldn't quite finish it off. And you could point to the penalties an absurd amount of I mean, the referees helped out the Panthers every way possible tonight. Still not able. They can't get fined right now.

I'm trying to think about that now, like ye, but overcoming that, you know, basically just from top to bomb, every level of the defense stepping up the way it did tonight really a statement game for this unit. But again, this team has been become so resilient. Okay, that's the most impressive thing is it's not just the talent. The talent has been there, but the way they're able to gel and put everything together out there on the field.

Because if they lost a close game to Carolina, short week, tough place to play, Cam's red hot, you could have understood it. Okay, anyways, said, you know what, guess what, You're still in first place in the division, no question about it. Miss Elaan Johnson. You missed Joran Hicks for most of the game. Guess what they're You know you would come back in eleven days, take care of Washington. You would have been feeling good. But you know, looking

there at the numbers there real real quick there. The thing that stands out to me the red zone performance for the Eagles. Two turnovers in the red zone by the Eagles, both capitalized and resulting in points. Yeah, we talked about the defense, and an extension of that is the big difference in this game to night was the quarterback play. You know, Carson doesn't have eye popping numbers the night like he had this past week against the Arizona Cardinals. But the great thing is his defense. He

gave him a short field to work with. He took care of football. Of course, we had the sack fumble early in the game. You know, Carolina Panthers, they overloaded the right side Hallepuli Baltic by tie knew he was going to be under siege tonight filling in for Lane Johnson. Carolina Panthers wanted to take advantage of that. They brought extra guys to that side of our offensive line and it disrupted our offense for a little while. But the best part about that was our quarterback kept the ball

out of harm's way. They made the car They made the Carolina Panthers drive the field all night long. And even when the Panthers got that fumble recovery earlier to night, I think, what did they get a field goal? Did they get anything? They got nothing, So no points off of that play, I mean off the turnover. So you

look at the quarterback play. And this is why when you have a quarterback like Carson Wentz, you really have to take time to appreciate him, right, because it's games like this where the quarter of when they're under siege, like both of these guys were tonight. How are they going to handle this pressure? Are they gonna get rattled? Are they gonna try to do too much? Are the throws going to start to sell on you? Are you

gonna make aaron passes? And you saw one guy do that in Cam Newton, and you didn't see that out of Carson Wentz. Listen, his complete the percentage is nowhere near where we typically see at that Carolina defense is a very good defense. They only average giving up two hundred and fourteen yards passing coming into this game. But again, he didn't do anything to hurt his team tonight. Carson Wentz did, and then when our defense was able to put us in good position by getting turnovers, we took

advantage of them. You mentioned the red zone. Zach ERT's two touchdowns tonight only had what two catches I believe two catches, both for touchdowns. A very efficient game from Carson Wentz and that's why his quarterback rating was at one ten even though he doesn't have eye popping stats. Yo. I love the fact that the Eels offense moved up

ball with ease in that first quarter. Okay, and although they only had three points to show for it, you might say yourself, we need to be a little concerned here. It seemed like the Eagles had the early quick start, but we're unable to capitalize. Now the Panthers can come back and take control of the game. No, they were able to get themselves settled down. Now, how much do you think the loss of Luke Keikley affected the Panthers defense? Okay, we saw him on that goal line drive. Brandon Brooks

came on the block, you know. Unfortunately, Keickle suffered the concussion. He's had history of that in the past, so you hope obviously he'll recover. He's one of the best middle linebackers at all football. But he goes out of the game as a guy who's so hard to replace, not just from his physical towns, but the mental acumen and being able to recognize what the opposing offense does. Yeah, this, there's no doubt about it. That hurt the Panthers defense

not having Luke Keickley out there. Although Mayo had a pretty decent game. You know, Mayo was around the football everywhere. But Luke Keikley is a guy that every offense has to account for all every snap. He's a great pass rusher, does a great job out in coverage, whether it's zone or whether it's a man to man, he does a great job doing that. Not having him in there certainly hurt their defense. But guess what, we didn't have our

quarterback on defense either. We lost Jordan Hicks, So you know, it's sort of even itself out there. Our guys were able to rally and make some plays, and for the most part, the Panthers defense didn't play bad tonight. I mean, they didn't play bad to night. Our defense just played better. No, I mean the two of the touchdowns came off the short fields, off the turnovers. The third one to Agaloor touchdown was a nice drive by about Nelly? How about

Nelson Agalore? Man? Just excited for this kid struggled his first couple of years, A lot of expectations, great job of bringing weapons in here to sort of relieve some of that pressure on Nelson Agalore and so I love what Nelson is doing. He catches that short pass in the slot and then he's able to raise city end zone. That's where you're able to see his speed come into play. All right, let's send it down to Charlotte to hear from the victorious head coach Doug Peterson. Come all in, shoot,

go somebody. UM had two point version. He had a lot of time to think about that after after you made the extra point. Espessially, you have Ryan and what when? What when? Is here the point b award and then go over? Well, I, first of all, there was a little miscommunication on the field because I was going for two after the UM extra point was was made defense

a penalty at the one yard line. It's like a sixty forty success rate, UM, and I was trying to get Pete's attention at the time, and uh, I was able to get it to know I wanted to. I wanted to go for two. So um UM elected to go for to in that situation and did a great job executing it. Is that Brian, Uh we we go over, Yeah, we go over? These situations during the week, Um, not only based on the percentages of success rate, but also

the defense and how they play in those situations. Also about this team for you guys, I'm sure we start of fine, so tremendous, uh, you know, testament to the players in that locker room. Um, I told them tonight after the game that I haven't been a part of a team that has battled through so much injury and adversity in the first you know, month of the season, month and a half of the season to stay together. The resiliency of the football team started to show last

year at the end of the year. Um, they're learning from from last year. They're learning how to finish games, and just the overall consistency from the leaders leading this football team. You know, they're sacrificing each other themselves for the team and it's a it's a fun fun thing to watch. To winning. It just took everybody. It took all forty seven guys. Um. You know, um, tonight it too all three phases had had a hand in it. Um. You know, we just had to We had to battle.

You know, it wasn't pretty at times, and and uh, um, you know, credit them for it's a fine football team. And you know, Ron and I talked after the game, and you know we'll probably see that football team again,

you know, we hope. So. Um, it's just battling. You know, the guys just hung in there, did an outstanding job tonight and uh just found a way what is it safe about the way he got around there and still just that's the That's the one thing about this kid is uh, he's so tough and mentally and physically and and the way he stays in there in battles and and uh, you know, still his eyes are down the field. He doesn't he doesn't let that stuff get to him. You know, I was able to extend some plays with

his legs tonight. Um. You know, he's a great leader of this football team, even in his second year. And uh, guys really respect the way he plays. And um, you know it's it's it's exciting to see from your quarterbacks a year and a half. You know, you saw glimpses of it, you know when he was in college obviously with the with the championships and the success that he had. You just look at his whole this whole uh sports life.

You know, when the success he's had and you just never know though, you know, until you get him into your building and you start coaching him to see exactly what you got. And it goes with any player. But the quarterback position is so important in this league and and that's one position that uh, you gotta get right. And um uh he's he's the right guy for the for the Philadelphias. There's a lot of flas against ten to one. Wow. Um yeah, I mean, you know, hey, it's part of the game. We got to do a

better job. We clean it up and Cannon can't have ten penalties. So you talked about the play of your linebackers obviously the loss Jordan Nigel went out then and I mean Kendricks nine tackles together. I thought our linebackers played extremely well tonight, those two guys particularly. I think Nigel had his best football game, uh, you know, to date so far this year. And um, those guys, do

you know. It's unfortunate with Jordan, you know, we'll find out the next couple of days with him, and but but for those other guys to step in there with limited reps even during this week, you know, and to battle and to uh you know, be in position to make plays. Just again, it's just uh, um a great testament to those two players and really all that whole group uh to hang in there and and do their jobs defense without fifty nine when he went out, which

change for them? Come out for them? Yeah, you know, he was very disruptive obviously early in this football game with some of the blitzes and some of the protection things that we were doing. And he's a smart he's a great player, and and you give him a lot of respect and and uh uh it changes a complexity a little bit, you know, um, just getting guys lined up and some of the things that they were doing.

But um, you know, it is unfortunate. Obviously. I hope he's hope he's okay, and I'll be able to play again next week. But um, it can change. It can change a little bit for us a little bit offensively too. That five and one set up in the well. One we've got to you know, we gotta learn from last year. We were three and oz with a little bit of a break and I was a full buy. This is just a you know, we got ten days or eleven days, I guess before we play again. So we gotta learned

from that. We gotta learned to uh to to to get rest, to heal up. Um, we have put ourselves in a really good position obviously the first six games of the year. Um. But but the season is not over. I mean it's still long. You know, you got ten games left and uh, I told the guys tonight that we got we got three coming up at home and uh in front of our fans at our stadium, and we've we got to learn from last year obviously, and

I'll be ready to go next week. Uh. Wrong, diffinitely when we went to the buye after Los a week before rust year, and what we changed is years. I mean, well it's not a buy but you know, we get some time and we don't play them Monday night. But um, you know, just just listen. It's just the first year, I think, and guys learning how to how to handle their time off and and uh, I'm gonna give them some time over the weekend and then we we'll get back together next week. But um, so they're not going

to have a full compliment of days. But you know, we just uh, you know, I just trust the players. I trust them with the time off and they need it. You know, we're we're we're beat up, and uh, it's a it's a it's a great opportunity to get healthy and and make a nice push for the next three weeks and then then get a full full by then. The first two touchdowns and the fields and value, yeah, great, great turnovers. Uh, you know, defensively got hands on the ball.

We've talked about takeaways all the time. Um presented a short field for us there early in the game and obviously cashed in and um, you know, offense did their part. So it helps when you can we can do. That's a great defense over there. Um. It's hard to go the length of the field, you know, on that team. UM, and it was just fortunate we had the short field at those those particular times last year. The difference this year,

well you know, he yeah he uh. Um, you know, I'll look at the film, you know, on the way back tonight, but but uh, you know, I think I think a little bit of it. He You know, there's nerves going and and uh you know, um, a lot of a lot of emotion early in the game, and it's just a matter of just trusting your technique and listen after after you got that out of the way. I mean, it was just settled in and did a nice job for us. But um, we'll take a look

at it and we'll correct it. Um. He's a good player for us obviously, and um, you know, we'll see where Landing was next week. But but if we have to go with v then then we're totally fine, fine doing that. You guys are able to how much he's so dominant, uh in there, pushing the pocket, you know, run and pass. And it was great to have him

out there tonight. And uh, you know, he's another one of those leaders on the team that you lean on, you know, and he battled through his injury and and uh I put that aside for the team tonight and announced any job, how Clay or not playing. How close was he? Yeah, I mean how how close was that he was playing? Yeah, he was playing. He there was no way I could sit him tonight. Him is this was too important to him? I know you're coming. Are

you surprised considering those injuries he had. I mean it is a little a little surprising, you know, Um, the amount of the amount of injuries, particularly at one position, you know, on the defensive back and then uh, defensive line kind of kind of got hit, and you know, it seems like it's just all on the defensive side

of the ball. Offense has had to pull their weight, and they've done a nice job, you know with some of the some of the injuries on defense, and you know, and it's you know, I guess I'm not surprised because of what I seen this football team work through and battle through. Um, and it's always been the next man up mentality, and these guys have proven it time and time again. And um, um put him put themselves and you know, my hat's off to those guys in locker room.

They put themselves in a really good position. Their difference to how Carson responds to hits and pressure the last year not really, not really. He's still the same guy and and uh still wants the ball in his hands, um, you know, and still wants to still wants to go down the field and score points. So um, nothing's changed. He He's a tough kid mentally and physically, and uh, you know, do what we can to keep keep the ball in his hand and then let him make plays.

How beneficial is it that? I mean, it's obviously like when you have injuries, but some guys that normally when we playing are playing. When you get you guys, yeah, I mean, it's it's gonna be it's gonna be huge, you know, to have these guys that are playing right now early in the season, you know, because you're gonna

need him again at some point in the season. Like he said, there's ten games and you know we we're gonna need him again, and it's valuable reps for them, and uh, it just adds that depth that we talked about all the time. All Right, there's head coach Doug Pearson talking to reporters after getting the twenty eight to twenty three win in Carolina over the Panthers. So many

unsung heroes from this ballgame. One comes to mind Jake Elliot, and not only the fact that he was two for two with two long field goals once again, but he has not missed And we were talking about this during a press conference since Jason Peters told him on the sideline it was during the Giants game, bare not miss another one? Yeah yeah, he basically yeah, scared him and all of a sudden, word it's worked. Ten straight field

goals for Elliott. But go to the end of the first half where the Panthers have an opportunity to take a long Graham good no field goal attempt, get three points, take the lead, you go into halftime, you'll get the ball first start the second half. Well, they opt not

to go for the field goal. If you were to make it, those three points would have made a world of difference at the end of the game instead of driving for the touchdown, you only need the field goal exactly, and the same situation with the fact that they had the penalty which led to the two point conversion for the Eagles, that gives you that much of an extra

edge there. So it makes the coaching situations and decisions much more difficult for the Panthers and put them in tougher situations later in the game where maybe they might have gone for two off after the last touchdown to McCaffrey. Well, not able to and probably not the smart decision to go for it there. Yeah, you know, listen, when you look at this game tonight, the coach has certainly had

their imprint on the game tonight, right. You know, I go back to when they scored the second touchdown to Zach Ertz. You're going for two, You're going for two at the big penalty the air. A lot of people say, you know, you don't take points off the BA, but again, they had a two point play in their back pocket that they felt comfortable with from the one yard line. And Doug. Doug has been Doug since he got hired here. He when he sees an opportunity to be aggressive, he's

going to take that opportunity. And so the thing that I love is that, you know, Doug talks about having done research and you have numbers, and we talk about the analytics part. That's a part of this organization and it goes into some of their decision making or you know what, when you do all that research and when you bring those people in here, you bring them in here to trust them. And so he felt good about

going for it there. And I love the fact that he sticks with his gut because he's he's assertive, he's certainly confident in the place, and I think his players feed off of it. His players feed off of it. There's sort of a no fear type of mentality with his head coach, and it's not reckless to the point you don't necessarily respect the possession of the football or field position or your opponent. It's just more or less, this is what we believe in doing here. This is

the type of team we're gonna be. Stop us and listen. It works a lot of the times and sometimes it isn't. But I love the fact that he doesn't allow the possibility that it may not work to deter him. And so you know, when you have a coach like that, that's gonna carry you a long way. Man. We'll think about from a minimum standpoint. Okay, it was ten ten going into the half. After the Panthers decide not to try that Graham Goundo field goal attempt, Panthers get the ball,

it's intercepted after it was dropped. Patrick Robinson phenomenal job dive in to get the interception. Zacher scores on the beautiful throwdown the team there from Carson wentz Okay. Then the penalty happens on the extra point attempt. And it wasn't like Doug was unsure or you know, second guess

whether he should take the points off the board. He was running out to thee because the referees it said penalty declined, and like it as me, he didn't give me a chance to decide it I mean, Doug was, he was com he knew right away he wanted to go for two. Yeah, and then not just to go for two, but the way he went for two. Shotgun snap to Wentz hand a ball off to your two hundred and fifty pound bulldozer whose nickname in the locker

room is big Cat Cat Big Cat. Very fitting that you're in Carolina facing the Panthers and Big Cat trucks his way into the end zone for the two point conversion. So you just stole the ball from the Panthers, You've forced it down their throats for the two point conversion. That to me was a soul sucking moment in that game. That's a possession of play where the Eagles asserted themselves and really took control of the game and just it really have shown that this is such a not just

mentally tough football team. We talked about the resilience and how they bounced back from a short week and coming off the high of being Arizona the way they did, but physically the way they're able to man handled teams this season, it's not something that you've seen from Eagles teams in recent years. This is such a well rounded well balanced attack that this team has right now that it's not just a soft of fake five and one record.

They have earned the record the hard way, and a lot of people, the critics coming to this game said, well, they're five to one, but the Giants are winless. The Chargers just got their first win over the Giants. You know, Washington was probably the best team they played. They lost to the Chiefs. It's like, what do you say now, this team again was four and one. They went to New England beat them in their house. They went to Detroit and beat Matthew Stafford a company in their house.

They were as red hot as any team in the league coming as this game, everyone started to think Cam Newton's back throwing the football the way he did Christian McCaffrey guys first touchdown last week. All of a sudden, he's the playmaker everyone expected when he was picked number eight overall. The Eagles went to Carolina and handled business in a way that this team would not have done so last year, and they would have not done it

in the last couple of years prior to that. Now, I agree, I agree, and I think the big thing is looking at this team and how they came into this game. You know, Doug did a great job of his scheduling this week with the players, making sure that you have the proper amount of rest. Kudos to the assistant coaches for putting together an outstanding game plan. You know in Jim Schwartz, you know, on a short week against an offense to use as so many different personnel packages,

so many different formations. The run game isn't conventional because Cam Newton is a part of the run game. You typically need four or five days to come up with a game plan to try to slow this offense down. To get a game plan put together in such a short amount of time, and to be an aggressive defense. See, it's so easy as a defensive coordinator to say to yourself, all right, we're gonna play zone this week. We're gonna keep everything in front of us, gonna keep everything in

front of us. Let's play a little vanilla and let's just make sure we keep them out of the end zone. No, the Eagles sort of set the tone tonight by getting out to Cam Newton and forcing him to be a thrower. They made the Carolina Panthers a one dimensional team. There was no running game other than Cam Newton pulling the ball under on a read option or something like that. But the running backs were non existent for the Carolina Panthers.

And when you look at the team who looked like the more aggressive team, the harder hitting team, it was the Philadelphia Eagles tonight and a game like this on national TV. We haven't necessarily played an opponent yet that everyone got a chance to watch us play tonight. Everyone else around the league, they know what they're in store for. If the Eagles are on their schedule, you had better bring your hard hat, your lunch pail, because this team is coming to play, whether it's at home or on

the road. Chris, we haven't even talked nearly enough about Through six games, four of them have been on the road, four road games, and they've been able to win three of those four games, tonight being the toughest road game of them all. And they win an there tonight and put the SmackDown on the Carolina Pathers. Here's a thing, they've won three on the road. They won one all of last season. Yeah, okay, it's that close games, the one score games. We're not able to take care of

those last season either. Once again, here twenty eight to twenty three, one possession game coming down to the end, offense, you know, good enough job, efficient job taking advantage of those turnovers turning them into points. Because, as we pointed out, the Panthers got the fumble on the first drive of the game, didn't do anything with it, right, Okay, basically there was a no harm, no foul type situation. Eagles

were able to come out unscathed. Okay, but you get to the end of the game, the defense, the games on the line, and the Eagles defense coming up huge. You gotta be just so happy about seeing that that, knowing, all right, defense, we're giving you the league the games in your hands, go finish it off, and they did it. Once again, think about these games that they that they won.

I go back a couple of weeks. We obviously they blew the airs on the card and as that game wasn't closed, but I go back to that San Diego Chargers at Los Angeles Charger game and how the defense was Soldo on his heels in that fourth quarter and Philip Rivers in that offense had a little momentum going and we as observers are staying to ourselves after the Chargers scored that their final touchdown. We don't want the Charges to get the ball back. And what do the

Eagles do. They use the last six minutes and forty four seconds up by taking the air out of the ball and running the clock out. Well, tonight, we weren't able to do that offensively. Give Carolina credit. They were able to use their time out stop the Eagles on defense when we were trying to run the ball out. And now our deepense has to go out there and win the football game. Carolina's in there two minutes drill. They feel like they got a little momentum going at home.

Guess what our defense rises to the occasion, and that's when you know you have a complete team. You don't just rely on one side of the football to carry the other two phases of the game to victory. Tonight, you saw the Eagles defense have the back of their offense late in the game when you needed to. The defense needed to come up with a big stop on that final drive against the Carolina Panthers, and they were able to stop the Panthers, not even allowing them to

even get in scoring range. They crossed the fifty yard line. Yeah, they must have been like the forty nine yard line. They won't very very far across that fifty yard line. But that's what winning teams do. That's what winning teams do. And eventually your special teams, well special teams won one point you when Jake Elliot hit the sixty one yard field goal for you against the Giants. This is a complete team that each week you don't know which one of these sides of the football are gonna be the

determining factor. But the thing you do know is that you're team. If you're facing the Eagles, had better played for sixty minutes, because these Eagles, they certainly played for the full sixty minutes seriously with the Eagles defense, and I go back to what most people won't remember. Play from the very end of last week's win over Arizona. Arizona is about to get a cheap touchdown at the end of the game, but you have Ronny McLeod and

Cammu Gruge Hill in the game at that point. Running down the field at the one yard line, McCleod knocks the ball out of bounds through the back of the end zone force of the fumble, and the Eagles get the ball and it keeps it as a thirty four to seven game, and that easily could have been moment where the Eagles would be like, we've already won the game. It's still gonna be multiple possession victory. It's gonna be

over easily double digits. We can let him have the score, but they refuse to let him have even those garbage time points. It's one of those players that it carries over to the next week and you see them finish the game strong once again. So it's so great that after the fourth quarter struggles they've had early in the season, especially against Kansas City where the game was closed in the the Chiefs were able to pull away late, that the Eagles defense is starting to get to get the

latent games. You know, the Giants game, they gave up all the points in the fourth quarter and escaped with that Jake Elliott sixty one yard field goal. Here tonight's okay, once again the Eagles defense coming up big on the

again national primetime stage. We saw the graphic, you know, double digit amount of come from behind game winning drives there for Cam Newton in his career as not able to deliver this time because the defensive line, which pressured him and harassed him all game long, was able to get to him once again and forced him to throw the ball when he didn't want to have to do

so in uncomfortable situations. And on the last play, Christian McCaffrey, he knew the ball had hit the ground, and you know, even though he could have probably tried to pick it up and tried to run with it, he knew he knew the game was over at that point. So the Eagles got to came to that really was what they had to do tonight. Okay, obviously, I had to eliminate the run, and this run defense has been exceptional through

the first six games of the season. To make it about Cam Newton and to still beat him even when he's able to make some place with his legs and he's able to do the whole Superman thing and kind of get the crowd into it when he thought maybe mentally, okay, maybe he's feeling himself tonight and we'll get on a roll. No, they were able to bring him back to Earth and get the job done late in the game. Yeah, I mean, Cam Newton, really his play was really the difference in

this thing tonight. And I'm talking about his poor play tonight. Cam Newton came into this game as one of the hottest quarterbacks outside of Carson Wentz in the National Football League over the last couple of weeks that you know he's talking about over with seventy seven percent completion percentage the last two games against the carol I mean, against

the New England Patriots and the Detroit Lions. Seven hundred yards that he was able to do and going up against a Eagle secondary this ranked twenty nine thirtieth in the league coming into this game, giving up almost three hundred yards passing. Look at what this secondary and this front was able to do to Cam Newton. He comes in as a hot quarter back and look at the

numbers that he puts up tonight. Pedestrian numbers, fifty three percent completion percentage, two hundred and thirty nine yards, one TV passed, three interceptions. I mean, just an outstanding and making him revert back to being the old Cam Newton. He's run more tonight than I've seen him run really all year long. Obviously a shoulder at the early part of the sea them was bothering him, but because he was playing so well from the pocket and not having

the run. They didn't call many running plays for him the last couple of weeks, but the Eagles made sure you're not gonna beat us throwing the ball tonight, and they were outstanding on the back end of his defense, getting pressure on him with the front four, forcing Mike Schuler, the offensive coordinator for the Panthers, to call designed running place for Cam Newton because they really couldn't move the ball any other way. I mean, Christian McCaffrey called ten

passes for fifty six yards. That's five yards of reception. I mean a defense to give you that all day long, you know, a little dumps up in front of you. Sure he got the one touchdown. I think that was a pick plane scored on as well that the refs didn't call. But they the Eagles defense made sure they

kept everything in front of them. I think maybe they got one ball behind them to Devin Functions or maybe Calvin benjam But for the most part, this secondary along with that pass rush upfront, made Cam Newton uncomfortable all night. And eventually, and as he tends to do throughout the course of his career, he will just throw one up there that you just kind of scratch your head and say what was that all about? That was the last interception to Jail and Mills where he kind of gave

up on the play, just threw it up in the air. Yeah, prayer ball, and all of a sudden, Jail Mill is able to camp out under it. And great for Jail and because you know Bow with the two pass interference penalties, you know, the one negate an interception by Rodney McCleod and the panther be able to bounce back get a

touchdown out of it. So for Mills have come back like that, and that's again it goes back to that mental toughness, that mental resilience that you see throughout this entire team that even though you might have a pen here, a bad play here, you're still gonna need to bow because you never know when you're gonna have to step up and make cute a huge play later on in the game. The best trade this kid has. He has

a short memory, you know he has. If he has a bad player two or what have you, it doesn't rattle, it doesn't rattle his confidence. He's still competing. He holds himself to such a high standard. He expects himself to make every place, so when something happens negative against him, he's coming back looking for the opportunity to make a play and going up against these power forward type receivers a night here and Roussel Douglas. Happy for these young guys.

Both of them come up with interceptions. Could have had another interception as well on Russell Douglas part. These young guys, they just compete, and as as a defensive guy, as a coordinator, that's really all you want from your guys. You want them to go out there and compete. When you play cornerback in this league, you're gonna lose your fair share of plays. You know, they get paid on the other side of the football assuring them too. Yeah, exactly.

So you know you have to be able to maintain your high level of confidence and then have a short time memory. That's probably Jalen mills Number one attribute is that he doesn't get rattled and his confidence is always high, and so I knew once he had an opportunity to make a play, he was going to take advantage of it and make a play. That's one of those tough ones because it's just floating in the air. You're saying

those ones aren't the tough ones to make. Indeed, so as we wait to hear from cornerback Carson went to a Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, we needed to talk about his physical toughness. I feel like last week It's Arizona, it was all about his mental acumen at the Lion scrimmage, being able to diagnose the plays before the ball was snapped, realizing that the blitz was coming, standing in the teeth of the blitz and still being able to deliver the football, and also making

great plays with his legs. But I think back to the goal to go run where second down he's trying to bully his way into the end zone. He he lowers the shoulder. Part to me, of course you don't want to do that. Yeah, you don't want to do that because this is the franchise guy. Yes, okay, we want him playing for ten years. We don't need him having offseason shoulder surgery. We saw was son to Cam Newton wasn't able to play at all in the off season,

can barely practice during the week. You look at Andrew luck who's not being able to get back on the field, hasn't played yet, this season. So you want him to protect himself. You want to limit those, you want to limit those. But at the same time, what does that do for his teammates saying that's that's a franchise, that's number eleven, that's the guy we need to go to battle with. And if he's putting himself out in the line, there's no excuse for me why I can't do it.

I'll tell you what. Once you have a collective sire relief on the sideline, because I guarantee whenever whenever your quarterback gets hit, you hold your breath. Yes, And so once Carson gets up and you realize he's okay, Yeah, then you get energized by his toughness. That's something that's that's natural, That something that is natural in HI. All right, speak of the quarterback. Now he's making his way to

the podium. Let's send it to Carson Wentz. Carson, what does it say about the character so short, short handed in a sense. Yeah, it feels good. Honestly, it feels good. I think it says a lot about um, the guys in this locker room. Um, we stayed together the whole game. You know, they did some good things offensively. Um, some different pressure looks that we hadn't seen. You know, that's that's tough on a short week. But we found a

way to win win a close ball game. And that's ultimately what we struggled with last year was winning on the road and winning close ball games. And we've done that, done that successfully. Uh, these first first six games, it really hates you good to come those times. How are you kind of feel great? We're five and one, baby, all of those first two shotsdowns and played with the short field. What was the benefit of then? That's always huge, you know, obviously after a turnover from the defense and

there's some momentum going on. Um, that first one shoot we were kind of just we're just finding trying to find a way. We had the fourth down conversion, um, and then the touchdown to Irks there, Um that was a big play, and then the other one. You know, just again take advantage of short field. And that's something we've really focused on, is red zone and finding ways to convert touchdowns and outfield goals. And I thought we

did a pretty good job of that. Carson, you lost Spools, you lost a fletcher for why he lost half the secondary for a couple of games go on and on Jordan Hicks tonight, Yeah, what does it show about the steel you've been able to overcome that? Yeah? I mean I think it just shows a lot about our depth and just the belief we haven't one another. You know, we always just believe the next guy up. You know,

it's the next guy up mentality. And UM, obviously we missed those guys that are hurt, but UM, we just stayed together and we don't let it phase us and just keep plugging along. Corson, you guys had a third and sixteen, put together a ton of four plays any one yards down the field steak us through that drive? But what was all? That was huge? That was a

huge drive. Um. You know, you never want to be in third and third and sixteen, and um, Carolina and I did some some different things on third down, brought some different pressures, so they made it tough on us. UM, but you know we've we found a way to convert that one and then had the big play UM shortly thereafter, and and UM just kept the foot on the gas and found a way to get an Ellien thens on there. What about after the turnover? Russell Bug was this interception.

You guys get built twelve and you need seven plays to get it in And how what did that show with the heart tea? Yeah, I mean that was I was frustrated took us that many plays first of all. But we found a way, you know, we found a way to punch it in there. Um. That that short field you know, we always got to take advantage of that when we can, and um, defense it great tonight. You know they give us the short field a couple of times that the couple turnovers there um. Ultimately, I

think that was the difference in the ball game. Did you think you were ready to get in when when I think if you plays before you score the best and just scrambling got down one. Yeah, I wish I would have got in. But started off great last year

getting off to another boot start this year. Do you feel like this team knows how to handle it better and knows how to prepare and play better down the stretch without a doubt, without a doubt, you know, having a year um together with this team under under coach myself,

you know everything. Um, we're just built differently. We're built differently, we have a different character makeup in that locker room, and um, you know, we just have a bunch of guys that believe that the matter of the situation, we can find a way to win a ball game. How do you keep point going back? Help there? I mean, what do you what do you do? You don't you don't think about it, honestly, you don't think about it. You just you go. Honestly, I just go look at

the surface, figure out why I got hit? What what was the protection issue? Um? And let's go go fix it and just keep keep playing ball. You know, it's football. You're gonna get hit. That's it's gonna happen. Um. And you know, just keep plugging along. Especially in the first half. Was it more than than you expected? And how did you guys adjust that? Yeah? Honestly, Yeah, that's like I said, you know, they did some different things that we hadn't seen,

um seen yet. Um on a short week. Like I said, that's tough, you know, so hats off for them. They did some good things. Um to kind of they kept our back end having to put our back on linebackers and did some different things. So, um, I think we did a better job in second half, kind of got those things cleaned up. But you know, hats off for them that that's a good defense the surface. Um on the on the under last drive before Carolina got their last chance on the third and seven or whatever it was,

he threw that hearts like Nelson was completely uncovered. Yeah, I see that. Yeah, I'm pretty pretty mad about that one. Yeah, pretty I was pretty ticked off when I came out, and that's that's the last play I was in other than the kneel down. So still still kind of ticked off, but thankfully that the defense got the job done. What happened on that play where you went to hear, Yeah, it was just a two play um two play call there, and I changed the play at the last second. Clock

was running down. So um, I didn't quite get a chance to serve the field like I like it would have wished. Shund up twice in the end zone four times this season. Whispen the difference play for you guys in friend zone? Um, you know, I think we just have a relationship. You know that we've just built that chemistry. Um, I'm knowing kind of what he's what he's gonna do. I can read his body language pretty well. Um, and that's just honestly been the difference and then that and um,

we just we just have we have him. We have other guys that to spread spread the ball around, you know. The first one al Sean kind of took a double coverage over there, the two guys over there over there, so, UM, you know, hats off. You know, a guy like al Sean taking that, um creates some other some other openings. And that's what we did. A game like this where nothing comes easy. Uh, he's kind of in a way

more rewarding, more satisfying than you. I mean, it feels great, honestly, it's that was a hard fought win on the road on a shore week on primetime TV. UM, so to come out of it five to one, and to know that we're at home the next couple of weeks, now that's big for us. I can talk about how you and sorry you guys a close groups, I've changed aniality. Do you notice a big difference in him on games? Yeah? Yeah,

I think he's come a long way. You know, I think, um, he was never a selfish player by any means, but I think just his mentality and his team, team first attitude. You know, he's he's come a long way in him and eye off the fielder um so similar you know, in our in our spiritual beliefs and everything. You know, we're so close. So um, it's just really cool to

see see how far we've all come together. It didn't really seem like there's second day and gave you too much for the challenge for Yeah, I mean they do some good things. Honestly, they mix up the coverage as well. Um, I thought the biggest thing they did, it's just their pressure looks. You know, they mix that up and kind of kept us guests and kept us on our toes on their DVSA made some made some good plays, but I think we made more of them. Thanks, thank you, guys.

Sorry all right, So quarterback Carson Wentz meeting the media after leading the Eagles to a twenty eight to twenty three victory over that Carolina Panthers. I feel like I should start dancing like Malcolm Jenkins in the locker room. So I'm sure there's a lot of dance dance going

on in locker right to the win. I can't I can't wait for the locker room speech from Doug Pearson. That's gonna be a good one, be able to see exclusively on Philadelphi Eagles dot com and our social media channel. So as we're watching the Carson Wentz press commonference, we have two televisions in the background here and the other one had the NFL network feed and he had Panthers quarterback Cam Newton's press conference going on at the same time.

So you're like comparing contrasts into two styles and everything from a fashion standpoint, but I just love what Carson Wentz brings to the table, not just the physical standpoint, but just the mental acumen that he has as well the confidence he brings, the work ethic. It's all the intangibles, the leadership qualities all coming together. I remember from Malcolm Jenkins speaking Malcolm being miked up last week where he just lavished praise on the second year quarterback. Just the

way he's been able to take things over. It's amazing how these guys have just kind of flocked to him, so to speak, that he's been able to take control of the locker room in such a short amount of time. Why because these veterans realize he has all the ingredients for sustained success from a quarterback. He has all these ingredients, the character traits that you want in a franchise quarterback. We know he has the armed talent, we know he has the leg talent, but it's the intangibles that you

need to have sustained success. And this kid is going to give you a chance to be in the hunt for winning a title, not just winning football games, for winning a title multiple years. You'll be in the hunt as long as Carson Wentz remains healthy and upright, and as long as you continue to put the right pieces around him. Di Fel come into his game that short week,

tough going on the road. Caroline's red hot. But at the very least, when you have number eleven, when you have a guy like Carson Wentz, you feel like each and every week you're gonna have a chance. Yeah, if he comes to play, you're gonna have a chance to win. So back to back touchdown performances of more than two, had three D three this week, at four a week ago, the last one today to Nelson Agilore to help put

the game away. We're now going to send it over to the RICO whiteboard for the RICO Review with Fran Duffy and Greg Hosell analyzing Nelson Agilore's touchdown from tonight's victory. All right, Greg, so it's fourth quarter now, and this is the Eagles game winning touchdown. A touchdown pass from Carson Wentz to Nelson Agilore, and it came off of eleven personnel, three receivers on the field. And there's something really interesting. You wanted to point out. Three wide receivers

on the field for the Eagles. Okay, that's eleven personnel. And one of the things that Carolina has been doing in the three weeks prior to this game with great regularities, they would keep three linebackers on the field versus eleven personnel. They would not bring in their nickel slot corner. So what you have at number one, as you pointed out

over Nelson Agilar, is a linebacker Shack Thompson. In fact, prior to this, the last three games, forty eight snaps against eleven person and l the Carolina Panthers played with their base four to three personnel. And this is what you get. You get a match Chack Thompson. Hey, very talented guy. He was a safety at times in college. But still you have a linebacker now over a wide receiver. So now the Eagles run a concept on the play side that is very similar to what we just saw

on the previous touchdown. Correct, But it's great against the blitz and the Carolina Panthers were very aggressive all night long. You see, here comes the pressure and then watch You've got zach Ertz running a vertical route. Yeah, and he's not going to run right down the seam like he did earlier. He's going to run a little bit of a corner route as he takes off, and he's going to carry that. But the most important thing is with all the blitzers going off field, you're gonna have this

inbreaking route. The middle of the field is wide open, and what do you get. Agil are easily beating Thompson with great route running right here, runs into the wide open middle of the field. It's beautiful. We can run this now you see the field is wide open. You get a wide receiver on a linebacker. Beautiful call, really well designed play, played off a concept that we've seen the Eagles do. We saw them do it tonight. As

you said, it was not an easy game. No one said is going into Charlotte and the Eagles come away with a huge victory, physical, tough game, the kind of game it was really fun to watch. Hey, we like to see the Eagles wins, so we were sweating a little at the end. But as a football fan watching this game, this was a real physical, fun, intense game to watch, no question. So we've got a long week

ahead of us. The Eagles will face off against the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football in what eleven days now? Ten days now? Yea here at Lincoln Financial Field. But we've got a whole lot of analysis until then. We'll have the All twenty two review, which you're watching right now. Then we've got Eagles game plan, the Eagle in the Sky, whole lot of football analysis more All twenty two coming your way right here on Philadelphia Eagles dot Com and

the Eagles Moble For Greg Cosel, I'm Fran Duffy. Thanks for watching All twenty two review presented by a Community College of Philadelphia. Thanks Fran and Greg. That feeling. I feel like I had a playoff atmosphere to an extent tonight. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch and hopefully it'll be up here. Well, that's the thing, and that's that's one of the underrated things by winning tonight, is you remain perfect in the conference and you're just chipping away at

those tiebreakers. You know when a team team by team by team knockoff. Caroline, you get that one in the book. Arizona, you have that one in the book. You know, obviously I get the division One's just locked those up. But it's huge for the Eagles to be four and oh in the conference right now, five and one overall. They've set themselves up nicely for a key three game homestand coming up, which we are going to preview after this our final break here on the postgame show presented by Rico.

Now's your chance to vote for the Toyota Player of the Week. Go to Philadelphia Eagles dot com slash Toyota Player of the Week to cash or vote and get a chance at a brand new Toyota. So

the first nominee, I make the case for cornerback Patrick Robinson. Wow, I'm looking at p rob Man and he's just been a real unsung hero for his defense all season long. You know, he started on the outside. They felt you did better for his defense in the slot position, and he's just been making plays week out the week out the week, whether it's an interception, whether it's a big tackle where this is a big pass breakup Patrick Robinson.

When I look at this defense, there are guys that are doing what we expect them to do, and then there are guys that are playing above expectation. And when I think of guys that are playing above expectations, it's Patrick Robinson. So big interception for him tonight always seems to be in the right spot. How about this, this will go unnoticed? This won't go into statbook the fumble recovery he had on the king Yon Warner pump return.

I mean that play could have put Caroline in scoring position and it was not just a recovery where he was there he had to die. It was an aggressive player on his part. Number two, the quarterback, Carson Wentz. Well, I don't know if we really need to make a real case for Carson Wentz. You know, prior to Sunday's game, he hadn't had a three touchdown game in his career. Back to back three touchdown games four on his past Sunday. Great job of Carson Wentz doing what the team needed

him to do. Last, but not least, the man coming back from injury, Fletcher Cox. I just think his presence was just huge tonight. You know, his stats as as it does so often, they won't tell the story for Fletcher Cox and the impact he had on this game. Ay, he comes back early, b he was determined to play in this game, so he made sure he got himself ready to go, and then seeing most importantly, he had an impact on the game immediately his teammates fed off

of his presence being there. If I had a vote that would be where my vote would go to Fletcher. I was kind of saving the best for last of those three of the So now let's take a look at the Eagles upcoming schedule, presented by NFL Ticket Exchange powered by Ticketmaster. before the break deals are five and one. They get Washington at home Monday Night football, David Acres Hall of Fame induction, go to be emotionally charged night in South Philadelphia, and you can sweep Washington to get to six and one to be huge. Then you get the Niners who haven't won a game yet okay, and Overlooks, and then you get an AFC power. That's a bit you're going away from. This is going from Carolina the four one four one battle to Denver, which is already knocked the

block off Dallas this year. Denver coming across the country. That is gonna be here. That could be that could be a flex gate right there. The thing I love about that schedule, that part of the schedule right there is that this team has been on the road so much through the first six weeks of the season. They're gonna get three straight games at home against opponents that they're gonna be up for. You know, they're gonna be up for the Redskins on Monday nights, so you don't

have to worry about that. And then this team has been able to take care of business when they need to. They'll take care of the forty nine ers to get ready for the Denver Broncos. I like the mindset of this football team. They've been able to play weekend and week out with blinders on. They're not listening to all to whoplow on the outside. Everybody wants to pat them on the back. They're staying focused. I love the veteran presence on this team. Malcolm Chris Long, Carson Wins, Jason Peters.

These guys are making sure the other players on this team know how to handle success. It's a fleeting thing. Enjoy it for the moment, and then get back to business. So they have the three straight home games the bye week and then Sunday night in Dallas against the Ezekiel Elliott less Dallas Cowboys. That's right now, right now, as of right now, So with a six games suspension being upheld. So last point I want to make here. You kind

of touched on it with Patrick Robinson. Guys playing above the expectation level that we had set for them coming into the season. You can almost tell if a team is going to be successful by the way the guys are performing on an individual basis and across the board offense, defense, special teams. There are very few players who you would say, he's not quite performing at the level that I thought.

Most guys are overachieving and not to a level that can't be sustained, but still above what we might have expected coming into the year. Yeah, I completely agree with you. And the biggest point I think you made there is that when you look at the three phases that is team, the players that are there that we expected a lot from this year. I don't know if I can find anyone that's underachieving. You know, some may look at the wide receivers and say, oh, I isn't alshon Jeffrey getting

one hundred yards and a touchdown every week. Guess what? This is an equal opportunity type of ball offense. Carson Wentz isn't gonna just lock in on one guy he's gonna spread the ball around and it really makes the offense that much more dangerous because you don't know who to stop. And on defense, we've lost guys, guys have had to step up. And the thing that I love is that the coaches hasn't necessarily tried to, you know, spoon feed these guys. They have a game plan that

they won't executed. The players believe in it, and I'm telling you, I know we do a lot of comparison to the teams that I played on in this and any other, but that's how it was under Jim Johnson and Andy. It don't matter who goes down, who's not available to play. If you're on this roster and your number is called, you would better be ready to play. And that starts with the everyday approach in meetings and

on the practice field. When you step in that meeting room or when you step on that practice field, you would better pay attention as if you are the starter and make sure when your numbers called you're ready to go. Your teammates are counting on you. And that's the thing I love. Peer accountability makes makes the sum of the parts much stronger. Do that make sense? Perfect? Sense, it's

like one o'clock in the morning. I always think, just thinking that you made one of your best points of the night, and it is at one o'clock in the morning.
