Three down, one to go in this two thousand and fifteen preseason. After the Eagles big win on Saturday night at lambeau Field in Green Bay, we're now back at an Overcare complex and we welcome you to inside training Camp presented by Exfinity Daves Federo Chris McPherson. You might say things are heating up in the big city of Philadelphia. People are really fired up about the Eagles. Was most optimism I would say in a long, long time two was it? Definitely two thousand and four. I don't think

since then there's been anything like that. I would probably agree with that. I don't agree with the sentiment. There three dominant wins in the pre season. You look at how the offense performed in the win over the Green Bay Packers, twenty five points in the first quarter, a twenty five point lead a halftime. You also have the backups coming up and making some huge contributions. But this week, it's a challenging week because I know fans want to

look forward to that season opener. We still have a couple of weeks, two weeks away in fact, but the Eagles have to get to the business of trimming the roster down to the fifty three man. Yeah, so when you're out in the practice field, the coaches are working on preparing the players who will play for the Jets, keeping their eyes ahead for the Atlanta Falcons on September fourteenth, and then also the conditioning factor here is very important.

Let's get you caught up with everything happening with the Eagles. It's our Eagles three to sixty update. We throw it out to Alex Smith. Hi everyone, Alex Smith here with your three sixty update, presented by Sports Authority. It is a very short week for the Eagles here at the Novicare Complex as they prepare for Thursday nights preseason finale

against the New York Jets. Today we heard from head coach Chip Kelly on the recent player cuts for the Eagles as well as the upcoming cuts that they have to do after this final preseason game. And for Kelly, it's a tough part of the job, but something that he knows has to get done. You know, we talk probably every other day about personnel on each side of the ball and special teams. So you know, we sit in with our personnel guys and coaches talk about these

individual guys at their position. So it's it's an every other day thing that we continue to go through and we'll use our full a lot mint of time here as we go through. We got one more big test this week against the Jets to make that final decision. The cut process itself is the hard part, you know, when you have to tell kids like we did yesterday, tell players that they're no longer members are the Eagles.

I think that's that's a difficult part of it. To this point in the preseason, the Eagles have been putting up a high volume of points against their opponents, jumping out early in each of the first three preseason games. But Kelly isn't putting too much stock in these preseason points.

You know, I'm happy with how we've performed in certain situations, but you know, looking at you know, just specifically our defense the other night, those penalties are you know, if that's a real football game, you have three major penalties on one drive, you know, and one that negates a turnover. You know that that could be the determining factor and

went him losing a football game. So while there will be a number of position battles to watch on Thursday night, the most interesting one maybe the quarterback spot as Matt Barkley and Tim Tebow battle for that third quarterback position. Today, we heard from Barkley on how he feels he's improved his game as he enters his third year in the NFL. Yeah, I do feel improved in a lot of different areas.

I feel like overall, my arm strength is I'm not even thinking about throwing the ball, whereas in years passed because of the the painter that that injury was, you know, I was adjusted in certain areas, and then with the offense here there wasn't comfortable with it or was still trying to, you know, understand some of the concepts and everything. So I feel comfortable now where I'm at and what

I need to do. As for Tebow, the competition with Barkley, it's obviously a huge part of this final preseason game, but he maintains that he and Barkley are on very good terms as they head into this final matchup. I think he's a really good quarterback. I think he's a really awesome guy. We've got a great family, and yeah, we just it. I consider him a good friend. Switching over to the defensive side of the ball, linebacker Brandon Graham spoke about how he thinks the Eagles rotation at

outside linebacker will work out this season. My biggest thing is to try to make sure I stay in shape so that I can stay out there as long as I can, you know, as long as the game go, because shoot, I mean, I'd love to be able to stay out there every play if I could. But I know that we got to have a good rotation. I think the coaches, you know, we'll figure it out as we go. Finally, one injury note from today. Linebacker Kiko Alonzo was back out on the practice field after missing

Saturday's game in Green Bay. Still no word as to whether or not he will play on Thursday. And for continuing coverage of the Eagles, be sure to keep it right here on Philadelphia Eagles dot Com. Thanks Alex Dave. There's just so much more we need to delve into that Saturday win. It was magnificent in so many ways. But the thing is, what does it all mean in the big picture? Well, what it means in the big pictures. The Eagles have gone through three games in the preseason

without any major injuries. They've performed at a very high level offensively, special teams have been outstanding defense taking the football away. Oh, so many great things happening for the Eagles in this preseason with one more game to go when we return, though two inside training Camp presented by Exfinity, We're not going to look ahead to the Jets quite yet.

It's only Monday. We want to revel just a moment longer in the win at lambeau Field and what went right and what stood out for the Philadelphia Eagles when we return. We welcome you back. It's Inside Training Camp presented by Xfinity. David Chris here at the Novicare Complex. Let's talk about thirty nine twenty six over the Green Bay Packers, thirty nine to fourteen at halftime, Eagles with three hundred and twenty five total yards of offense, five of five in the red zone. Those are some of the things that stick out to me. Chris, and I know that Sam Bradford leads everyone's list of highlight performers. Yes, indeed a

perfect ten for ten in the performance. Three touchdown passes, and the thing that we wanted to see in its second preseason outing was would you be a more accurate passer? And we certainly saw that right from the jump when he saw that beautiful eight yard touch pass to Darren Sprowls in the end zone. I personally love the third touchdown pass, I should say the one to Trey Burton

where he took the shot from the defender. It was a fourth and goal situation, but he got right up and put the pass on the money to get Burton into the end zone. So we saw the toughness, the resiliency and the accuracy. Sam Bradford has been a perfect fit in this offense. Yeah, four drives, four touchdowns for Bradford at the Holme, but it was more than Bradford.

You see a variety of weapons from the Eagles. Darren Sprowls a big part of the passing game after last year really kind of being held and checked by defensive to see him moving around the formation. The running backs here, DeMarco Murray, Ryan Matthews in the pass game, Kenyon Barner making a contribution in the pass game. The Eagles with

a bunch of weapons. They're bringing them all over the boards to use a hockey term, keeping the wide receivers fresh and spreading the football around and using it with an offensive line. Chris has really played well. Andrew Gardner has solidified his job at right guard, and Alan Barber quietly has been outstanding and left guard. Yes, that was obviously one of the big questions going to this preseason. You allow Todd Harriman to leave in free agency, your

release Evan mathis in All Pro. Now you have three outstanding players obviously in Jason Peters, Jason Kelsey, and Lane Johnson. But what about those guard spots. Andrew Garner has stopped up. Alan Barber, like you said, Dave has been very, very

good at the left guard spot. I just love the fact when you look at this rushing attack, Dave, that you've been able to involve all of these players DeMarco Murray, Ryan Matthews, Darren Sproles, not just in the run game end, but in the past game as you mentioned, but they're all contributing, they're all getting touches. You go back to the first drive, everyone's touching the football, so on a drive to drive basis, you don't know who you have

to defend out there. And you know the statistic that critics used this time of possession, which is an absolutely ridiculous conversation to have the Eagles at one point, we're leading twenty five to nothing. I was on the sidelines and I turned to somebody and looked up at the time of possession. The Packers had an advantage. I said, that is the dumbest statistic in the NFL. The Eagles ran forty four offensive plays in the first half. That's

what matters. On the defensive side of the football. The takeaways continue to run. Defense outstanding, still need to shore some things up with the past game, solidifying the nickel position on defense. Will it be Nolan Carroll, Eric Row will find out? The Eagles have some options. But for the most part, Chris, I mean, it really literally has been a perfect preseason, just about very close special teams making a huge impact. Kenyon Barner with the two return

touchdowns where he mostart really get in the game. Off on the right foot, so to speak, with a long kickoff return to open the game. But going back to a defense, Dave, you mentioned the opportunistic takeaways that they have to this point eight total turnovers that they've been able to force this preseason, six interceptions. This is a defense let's go look to get after the quarterback. And when you have players like Walter Thurman in the back end.

You know a former corner who's been converted to safety, Malcolm Jenkins who's of the same mold. When you have guys who can get their hands on the football and know what to do with it, that's going to allow those opportune these those mistakes that the quarterbacks makes when you have a counter borrowing a brand Graham coming after a quarterback to make opposing offenses pay because they know that once they get the ball back to his offense. With Sam Bradford and company, they're gonna be able to

convert those turnovers into points. And we saw Damiko Ryans Michael Kendricks give their first preseason action. Knocks some of the rust off, and they'll be better for it on September fourteen. Still some things to clean up, but for the most part, great performance at lambeau Field in preseason game number three. When we return inside training Camp presented by Xfinity, a visit from quarterback Tim Tebow. It's a big one on Thursday night. A roster spot could be

Now time for a little football one on one Chris,

some lessons in the game. Yes, indeed, Ross Tucker from our Eagles Game Plan show is gonna delve into audibles. What exactly are audibles? Well, of course you know when sometimes things change on the fly little bit. The quarterbacks see something at the live scrimmage. He wants to alter the play to make sure that the team has the best chance for success. But what goes through the mind of the quarterback when making the decision. It's Ross Tucker

with Today's Football one on one. Welcome to the final football one on one segment yere at Philadelphia Eagles dot Com. But it's never really over, is it. You can always go back and check out any of the past episodes. Ross Tucker rapid things up for you here taking a look at audible. It's hot reads, he's here. Announcers say it all the time. Why exactly due quarterbacks audible typically? And what is a hot route a hot read? You'll

see both of those in the clips. We take a look at from two quarterbacks to do it as well as anybody. Let's start with Philip Rivers for the San Diego Chargers going against the Oakland Raiders. Now you'll see that he's gonna see pressure at the top of the screen. He feels like they are bringing more guys than he has the block, and you'll see what he does. He didn't bring Danny woodhead back into the backfield to give him an extra blocker because he's a little bit worried

about getting hit off the edge. This way he knows he's protected. Take a look at Woodhead, who's a running back in the backfield. Woodhead is able to block the edge rusher, who knows or I'm not going to get their Woodheads blocking me man to man coverage. Then for the Raiders, they're not able to hold up. We didn't mind as a team when teams to pressure us, because that's when you knew you might be able to get a touchdown like the Chargers did with Keenan Allen on

that one. Now, this is an audible and a hot read by Tom Brady. You'll see he tells everybody, including Julian Edelman, who's down here at the bottom of the screen. He tells them, hey, they're coming with pressure. Break off your route early. When you identify pressure and you know the quarterback wants to get you the ball, you run your route hot. You break it off early so the quarterback has somewhere to go with the ball. Edelman is excellent after the Cats, says able to get into the

end zone, but it started with right there. Tom Brady identifying exactly what was going on. Hey, to come with pressure, get a hot route here, run your routes and break them off quickly so I can get you the ball. That's why Brady and Rivers are so good. That's why the position is so much more were mental than anybody really recognized. Hey, we all love accuracy, we all love arm strength. When it comes down to it, you've got

to be smart. Speaking of smart, you would be very smart to check out the remainder of the football one on one segments over at Philadelphia Eagles dot com. We have had a blast breaking down all the basics about football that you need to know to really be ready for this Philadelphia Eagles season. Thanks so much, Ross. That'll do it for us today. We are back tomorrow with Inside Training Camp presented by Xfinity. Reminder Game Night on Thursday, seven pm on NBC ten. The pregame show here. The
