Hello, everybody, It's Eagles three sixty Dave Spidero, Glenn mcnow. We're at the Novercare Complex. It's Thursday. We're trying to put this week behind us and get onto the Washington Redskins on Sunday. And somehow, some way, the Eagles, Glenn, must find victory at Lincoln Financial Field. How do they do it? Well, it's there to do it. The Redskins are not a super Bowl team. The Redskins are a team that cannot stop the run. They have their weaknesses.

They're in a bit of a slump right now. They've lost two in a row. Their coach exploded on them last week. Dave, we've seen this Eagles seem play so well at home. Not the last time, but we've seen it. If they can recapture some of that, if they can play well early, get the crowd behind him, get a

little momentum, the pathway is there to do it. And you gotta believe that all this talk this week about effort and did they play physical football, it's gotta be a stinging sensation and they've got to be coming out with just smoke coming out of their nostrils on Sunday. You hope so right, because the fact that the Resigumes beat them so badly, you got your revenge factor there. No player likes to be said that he is avoiding hitting Hardy is avoiding doing his best. So if they

if you need a motivation, there's another motivation. Well, I think the Eagles have plenty of motivation for this one. We've got a lot to get to on the show today. Before we get into all of that, let's get your caught up on everything happening today in the locker room. Alex Smith our three sixty update. Hi everyone, I'm Alex Smith here with your three sixty update. Well, on Sunday, the Eagles welcome the Washington Redskins to Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles, of course, are looking to overcome their recent three game losing streak and in order to get back on track this Sunday, the Eagles are looking to get the running game going. So today inside the locker room, we heard from Ryan Matthews and Wendelle Smallwood on what it will take to get that ground game back in

action this weekend. I mean it's tough, you know, we has a group I gotta gotta, you know, do our job and you know, when a numbers call, we just got we gotta make plays and everything, so uh, you know we're gonna go in and it's just, you know, something we gotta work on. Just gotta be aggressive, play on our side of the ball, get get our boxes done and running backs. Gott to hit the whole of course,

and see everything and have our resart. Of course, things haven't quite gone as planned for the Eagles after their three and oh start to begin the year, but as they look to get back on the winning track this weekend, the players inside the locker room know that they have to get back to basics to get back on the winning side. It's a frustrator not winning, just knowing how much we've work, we've been putting in, how much, how hard we practice. I mean, we don't practice bad. We're

not a bad practice and we practice great. We give effort and I don't think that's a question with this team. So just letting ourselves down and not being able to get those wins and losing the way we've been losing us it's hard. Um, you know, we just gotta learn from the mistakes and push forward. You know, you can't change anything in the pastor can't you know, go we do the game, so you know we're gett another chance you know this week to to you know, go out

there and play our best. I mean, just don't go back to doing what you normally been doing when you first start this game. You know, um, what you always do. You know, I'm just always go back, like I said, go back to techany um, do what you need to do step by step, you know, and just go out and play ball. Not even worried about um, no one saying anything, media, coaches, anybody else. This is all about

two and yourself and your teammates. So you know, you believe in yourself and your team based on what's going on. Nothing that should be a problem. And we'll close things out here with an injury update. Wide receiver dry Al Green Beckham did not practice again on Thursday, so have to keep an eye on whether or not he's able to go on Sunday afternoon. While some good news, running back Ryan Matthews and wide receiver Jordan Matthews both full

participants in today's practice. You can check out all of our locker rooms down from today and all of our other content leading up to Sunday's game right here in Philadelphia Eagles dot Com and the official Eagles Mobile app. Thank you so much, Alex. The locker room, Glenn I found every week really always upbeat, confident, but again this week there's a bit of frustration. Yeah, and this week

there were a lot of questions. So players don't like standing there and being asked, okay, so on this play, how come you didn't do this? And let's look at that play, and they obviously hate that. They don't want the distraction of it. They got a rise above it. YEP. Eagles five and seven against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. Much to get to on Eagles three sixty, We've got a visit behind enemy lines to find out exactly what's

going on with the Washington Rescus. Now we're not gonna go into the locker room and here Jay Gruden lamb based his team, but we will speak with a reporter who covers the Washington Redskins to find out how things are going there when we return. However, Brent Selik, an all time Eagle in studio, he's a tough guy. Nobody's questioning that. What's his perspective on this twenty sixteen Philadelphia

have you with you in studio. Glad to have you with me in studio. Brent, Listen, you've been through this before. Team is struggling a lot of noise on the outside. What do you do internally to kind of make sure everybody is just focused on their job. Well, I think we just as a team need to come together and realize that no one else is going to come walking through that door and save us. We got to do

it ourselves. So it just comes down to us coming together and fixing it, making plays when we need to make plays, and focus on your job and do your job the best of your ability. Right. There are some young players in key positions who are learning how thin the line is between winning in the NFL and losing in the NFL. It's very It's really a play, I

mean literally a play here, play there. Yeah, it's a momentum game, and you know, like you said, one play here or there can switch the momentum the other way, and it's up to us as offense, defense or special teams to pick up. You know, if something does go wrong, we need to switch that momentum and get it back in our direction. In the last few weeks, that's that's something that we haven't done and that's something that we

need to get back to. We need to pick each other up when when things aren't going well for one of the you know, one of the units. You expect on Sunday when Washington comes to town a very energetic, emotional, really focused performance by Eagles. Oh definitely. You know, I expect it from both teams because I think everyone realizes where we are sitting. Um, everyone realizes where the Redskins are sitting, and this is a you know, this is a division rivalry and it's gonna it's gonna be a

good game. Do people players think about what happened earlier in the season against Washington tough game in landover Maryland? Oh guys, no, yeah, I mean not only this last game that we've played, but guys that have been on this team and you know this team has beaten us. You know, a good amount of times over the last few years. So I think we all understand that and we need to switch this around. What do you see from Washington's defense, Brent? They're a good team. I mean,

they got a good front four. You know, they have some pretty good linebackers, and then on the back end, they're pretty solid all around. They those guys play hard and they're goodball team. And then obviously offensively, they've got a great offense from three and out to five and seven to somebody you see anything with these young guys that might be like, Hey, what's going on here? How

did this happen? Um? I think I think there's a little bit of that from everybody, but really it's all of our fault and you know, at the end of the day, we just got to fix it. We got four games left, we still have a chance, and you know, we got to get a fix this week. Bran, how do you feel physically late in the season here a lot of reps. How have you been holding up physically? And then I like to know the key. I mean we've talked about this before. What is the key to

staying fresh down the stretch. I've been feeling pretty good, especially with you know my age and where I'm at in my career. I've been feeling real good, and I think the key is honestly as sleeping because the later it gets in the year, you know you need to get your rest and then eating right and taking care of your body, stretching, doing all the little things that you know you probably didn't have to do when you're younger. How much sleep you get between nine eight and nine

hours with a seven month old baby at home? You have a great wife? Well, are you sure? Do you ever be thank you? How is it being a daddy? It's amazing, It's amazing, you know, I can't I couldn't ask for a better situation with my wife. My daughter has been an angel since she came out. Um, she never cries. Knock on wood, Yeah, she never cries. She never cried. I mean here and there, but it's not you know, she can deal with pain, which I like. And your wife is giving you the chance to sleep

nine or ten hours a night. Boy, are you gonna be paying her back in the offseason? Of course? Yeah. After the Eagles go deep into the playoffs. Here, you're gonna be You're gonna be daddy full time man. Daddy Daycare. I love it. I'm just gonna love everybody. Prince SELLEC. Thanks so much, Thank you, Prince Selacan Studio. America runs on Duncan. We welcome you back. Time now for Glenn mac now to step out on the limb. Give some bold predictions here you got Dave Spernaro, three bold predictions. Number one, we got to talk about DeShawn Jackson. He is in a groove right now. Last week he

torched Arizona start of the season. Slowly has been playing better recently. We know how much he loves playing against the Eagles. There's been four games against him, three hundred and eighty eight yards twenty yards a reception against the Eagles. He is looking to show all potential future employers what he has out there. I'm going to put him down for a hundred yards and a touchdown, and you would expect a very animated DeShawn Jackson, very motivated DeShawn Jackson,

and a very agitated to Shawn Jackson. All of those eights a lot of very good, all right. Number two, the Redskins cannot stop the run. Their defense it's been terrible against the run. They've given up the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL four point six yards to carry, fourth worst in the NFL. The ball is there for the Eagles to run it, But who runs for the Eagles. Dave spinnarow, what running game to the Eagles half? We don't know. I'll go out on a limb. Ryan Matthews

is back. I don't know how healthy he is, but I'm gonna put my eggs in that basket and say that Ryan Matthews goes seventy yards and a TV could really use Ryan Matthews to juice up this running game. Doug Peterson talked about it earlier in the week. Eagles need to take some pressure off of quarterback Carson Wentz. How do you do it? You're run the football. You're going right to my number three. Look at you, Look at you great minds number three, because you can run

against the Redskins. That will help Carson Wentz. You heard a wise man, Dave Spanaro say that, and here's what it means. He threw sixty passes last week. No, no, no, not good. He's averaged forty four pass attempts the last six games, and with the fourteen sacks, it's almost up to forty seven. Plass plays a game. You don't want your rookie doing that. We know that in the season's first six games he averaged just thirty one attempts a game. So against the Redskins, when the Eagles are able to

run the ball, that helps Carson Wentz. Let's say he throws the ball under thirty five times, and that's a good thing. And I think maybe we see a little game plan similar to the Atlanta game where the Eagles play a little keepaway from the Washington Redskins offense, which is such is good because they got a real passing game and they got that guy Robert Kelly who gashed the Eagles last time and play very well. So those

are three of Glenn's five bold predictions. You can hear the other two on the Exalta pregame show that begins at noon on Sunday. Thanks very much, Glenn, pleasure to day seem come true. We haven't really been keeping I think we're hitting about all right. When we return to Eagles three sixty, we're going to go behind enemy lines and talk about the Washington Redskins, losers of two consecutive games.

Are they going south? In December, we'll find out. This portion of Eagles three sixty was presented by Rothman at Jefferson. It's the first rematch edition of Behind Enemy Lines, presented by Gatorade and to once again take a look at the Washington Redskins. We bring back the claire Voyeur Steven Zarda, the senior writer for Redskins dot Com and Stephen Let's get into the state of Washington right now. They were six three

and one. Okay, lose tough game Thanksgiving against Dallas. Week later, ten days later, tough one on the road against Arizona, another one possession game. Teams right now, six to five and one. Do the Redskins feel like that with his third consecutive road game that they must win in order to get their season back on track and get a push going towards the playoffs. I would say, yes, you're that.

You know the playoffs standing is currently they're half a game on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the last wildcard spot. They're only half a game ahead of the Vikings and Packers, two teams they beat, but both those teams are still

very much alive. You know, the Restkers are currently two and two the into Division with wins over the Giants and the Eagles, and you know they don't they don't want to go into Philadelphia lose three road games in a row and then only have three games left to try to get that second playoff berth and a row.

So if if they can win and go to seven to five and one on the season, push the Eagles to five and eight, they're gonna that's gonna put them in a good spot against two teams upcoming, and the Panthers and the Bears that are both below five hundred. So Stephen looking at quarterback Kirk Cousins, he was the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for November. He had a streak of three straight games with a pass ring of one ten or more snap last week in Arizona.

What do you think that he needs to do to improve not so much overall, but specifically in the red zone where the Redskins have struggled for most of the season. And that's an answer. Everyone's trying to figure out, how can they move the ball up and down the field, and then they get inside the twenty yard line, they really bogged down. Because they're currently thirty first the NFL in the red zone at forty And you know, there's some places that they've tried. They've really really struggled with

the fade route in the end zone. They tried it to Josh Dockson a few times. Josh Doxon, of course, is now in ir They try it to de Seaun Jackson last week. That didn't work either. But there are maybe two potential fixes. And if Jordan Reid can come back he's practicing from that shoulder injury that he suffered against the Cowboys, and then maybe get a little bit of that run game going to Kirk Cousins had seven rushing touchdowns in his career, all within the ten yard line.

And the same thing with Robert Kelly the new number one running back. He has four touchdowns this season, again all coming inside that ten yard line. Stephen, the last time you were here on the program, you talked about Rob Kelly and he had a key run late in the game to ice to win for Washington. Now that he is the feature back, do you think he'll become a more of a focal point of the offensive attack.

I think so in a sense, he already has become more of a focal point because he is now the starter. And when the last time the Redskins faced the Eagles, he was the number three running back and then he had that forty five yard run. It was kind of a breakout moment for him. And since then he's entered the starting lineup. He's fifth in the NFL and rushing over the last four games, highlighted by it just a

massive day against the Packers two weeks ago. So, you know, they want to get their offense more balanced, and that's been huge for them when they're when they've lost games, they have had a very imbalanced offense in the In the five losses they have, it's two hundred and eighteen pass attempts, something like ninety five runs and in their six victories, it's more of a balanced attack. For example, last time they played Philadelphia, it was thirty three runs

to thirty four pass attempts. So if they can kind of get a more balanced attack closer to that number, those two numbers, then it might be good thing for Washington moving forward. Stephen, we've talked a lot about bunds here in Philadelphia. Carson Wentz had sixty pass attempts last week against Cincinnati in the loss. There. Looking at the defense, it's been much maligned injured throughout the course of the season. Stephen has struggled in certain areas, especially on third in particular.

But when you look at the last matchic between the Eagles and the Redskins, the Eagles only scored six points on offense. They had a kickoff return for a touchdown and to pick six by Malcolm Jenkins. So in your estimation from back in week six when these two teams last played and to now, what has changed with the Redskins defense, Well, one, some of the things that are similar.

First of all, they're getting they're still getting pressure. The last time the Redskins and Eagles faced, Ryan Kerrikin had two sacks had a big day. An opposite of him, Trent Murph, now has eight sacks this season. It's a breakout year for him. But the Redskins have really struggled and creating turnovers and getting off the field and third downs.

Last week against the Cardinals, they were ten The Cardinals were ten of sixteen on third downs and some of those plays were eleven yard completions, all of your completions, and even the Cardinals went for it on fourth and one from inside their own forty yard line late in the game. So rest because I've really struggled to stop the run, create turnovers, and get off the field and

third down. And you know, if the Eagles can find a way to get maybe one of those things in their advantage, it could be a tough day for that defense. All right, Steven, last question for you. Last time you gave us Rob Kelly as an X factor, who do you predict will be an X factor who the Eagles need to keep aware of this Sunday. I'm gonna go a little more mainstream. I'm gonna go Josh Norman. They're

going again. He's going to get to an inconsistent wide receiver corps for the Eagles maybe and get interception a fumble. Who knows, but it could be Josh Norman with the big day. I wonder who he'll end up bickering with by the end of the game. There, get a little tip attack there. Steven's are senior wife for Redskins dot Com does a phenomenal job. Make sure to check out his work. Steven, thank you very much for taking us behind enemy lines presented by Gatorade here in Philadelphia Eagles

dot Com. Thanks so much, Chris, Thanks so much, Stephen. I guess Glenn, I'm really shocked that Washington's defense has fallen so far. They just seem to give the Eagles a lot of trouble off the edge. Ryant Carrigan specifically, who draws Alan Barber this time? He's worked his way through Lane Johnson, he worked his way through Viti. Yeah, and now he's got Alan Barber. Yeah. That's a tough matchup. I mean, he is one of the elite pass rushers

in the league. He has I think ten sacks this year, and he does it year after year, and he's always played well against the Eagles. And you've got a game plan for that, which to me means you got to try to take the whole thing the other direction, depending on what side he's on. Josh Norman as a free agent signing, we all thought that maybe that would make the difference, but we've also understood that in the past,

these high end free agent cornerbacks aloud don't work out. Yeah, well, not quite the bust that Asoma is, but not worth the money they paid. From thus far, they've had a lot of issues there and because he is such a vocal guy, other teams wide receivers really come at him, and he's had a very mediocre season. Yeah, right, well, I hope it continues. On Sunday. We've got one segment to go here on Eagles three sixty when we come back.

Some final thoughts on the Eagles and the Redskins from Glenn mcnow and the question to Sean Jackson, where does he play next year? We'll be right back. He's good, dad, I'm telling you, he's lit. Okay, laying on me. You can't choose someone's taste in music, but at least you can choose two of your favorites from McDonald's mckpick two menu. So you like it sure. Our final segment here on Eagles three sixty David Glenn. Here a progress report on a player

who's played quite well this year at middle linebacker. We wonder how would Jordan Hicks fit from a three four inside linebacker to a four three middle linebacker. Not the biggest, bulkiest guy, but he's played very well for Jim Schwartz. As we will hear in our progress report with Mike Quicken, I Grace R Progress Support brings us to you know, one of my favorites, old number fifty eight, Jordan Hicks

in the middle of his defense. And if you're gonna have any chance to stop in his run game versus the Redskins, he's gonna have to play a big game, just like he did last week versus Cincinnati Bengals. Watch how he quickly dissects this screenplay and gets to the football. You know how good the Ridskins are in the run game, and this is just an extension of the run game. But he dissects just play and he's so quickly to the football making the stop. You know, he quarterbacks his defense.

He has to be a key man in stopping the run game against the Redskins on Sunday. Here's what I like what he's doing. He's tightened down, he's split to the line of scrimmage. Okay, so he's gonna try to get on these offensive line and as fast as he can, he reads the pull, gets down into the gap. This is his celever support. Now his job is to basically turn this running back back to the inside to the

unblocked defender. Where's the unblocked defender. Don't worry Brandon Graham and get up off the ground, because that's what he does. He plays one hundred miles per hour. Jordan Hicks does his job, turns the run back in and here's Brandon Graham to make a play. A great job, solid defense, playing your responsibility. He gets to the outside shoulder of that guard pulling, turns to play back to the inside

as he should. Everybody doing their job. I mean it really did a good job again in the run game against the Bengals last week, basically forced the Bengals to abandon the run in the office. Let's watch him here again. We're talking about attacking the line of scrimmage. My old teammate, Jeremiah Trotter, he made a living of doing this. You see that hole, He's gonna attack it there right. First guy I thought about when I saw this was trot the way he would come up and feel the hole.

Not A benefit of doing this is that this offensive lineman, one of these guys for a double team in bow Allen. They have to come off to get to Jordan Hicks. Now the old line is gonna get off a ball. He picks up Jordan Hicks, but this allows bow Allen, who has the insign leverage on his blocker, to make the play there. Jordan Hicks being decisive pressing the line of scrimmage, you know, along with Nigel Bradham, Michael Kendricks. That's the way you're gonna stop this run game versus

the riskins be decisive, get down. He'll get these blockers off your d lineman and allow them to stop that run up front. Thanks so much, guys. Now are Amrosso's on the menu segment for you? Setting things up for Friday here on Philadelphia Eagles dot com and the official app on Eagles three sixty. Howard Eskin in studio with me, Doug Peterson makes his final press announcements, briefings, injury updates, etc. And we've got crunch time with linebacker Michael Kendricks. Amirosso's

the reason Philice Sandwiches are so famous. The moment I've been waiting for Glenn. Yes, we've heard all the Deshan Jackson stuff this week, all right, where in your estimation will Deshaun Jackson play next year? Or would he fit in Philadelphia? Or what are you stay in Washington? Well, okay, I don't think he's gonna stay in Washington. I think that that's the least shot of all. They have a lot of receivers that got young receivers now, so he I think they're gonna let him go. It's either here

Garson leave, and it's likely him that leaves. Where's he gonna go? Well, it's tough to look around the league. Hey, reunion with Andy Reid is not necessarily out. He and met Macklyn together. But the real question you want to know, is Kenny come here? Sure? But I would not give him a big money, long term contract, mostly because to me, the first thing that goes to speed. He's a small guy, he's a slight guy. He's you know, his age is getting up there. I would not give him more than

two years. Somebody might give him more than two years. If I can get him on a bargain, I'll take two years sixteen mil Okay, do you hear that, deshean, that's what Glenn mcnell's offering you right here, right now. Come back to Philadelphia. There you go. Hold on, I got my got my wallet in my pocket. I don't know if you got sixteen in there, but whatever you don't have, we'll figure out a way to make it work, all right. So that's that's our Deshaun Jackson moment for

the week. And we know that when he comes back to Philadelphia, it is always a very entertaining to It is difficult to stop. And we'll see what Jim Schwartz has in mind against that potent Washington pass game. Glenn mcnow, Dave Spidero, well, thank you for joining us on Eagles three sixty today. I'm back tomorrow with Howard Eskin. Until then, have yourselves a great Eagles Day.
