Hi everyone, I'm Alex Smith here with your three sixty update. It is a short week of work here for the Eagles at the Novicare Complex as they prepare for a Thursday nights preseason finale against the New York Jets. Now, while many of the starters won't play in that final tune up before the regular season opener against the Cleveland Browns, today head coach Doug Peterson explained what this last preseason game means to some of the fringe players who are
trying to make their way onto the fifty three man roster. Really, this is a great challenge for all the players in this football game, you know, to get one last substantial amount of reps and to really put themselves on tape. And it's something that you know, I've made it known to the team that you know, it's not just our team that's watching, it's it's it's it's the rest of the National Football League that's also watching. And I want them just to go out there and play, play care free, play,
you know, play fast and have fun doing it. And you know, at the end of the day they can hold their head up and said they gave everything that they that they had at that time. One of the biggest position battle questions revolves around the kickers, as both Caleb Sturgis and Cody Parkey are still fighting for that starting job. Inside the locker room, we heard from Sturgist today saying that throughout this entire battle, his mindset has stayed the same. I mean, well, we've done that the
whole time, so it's the same thing. All you can focus on is going out there and trying to make every kick. I've had a good camp. I've concentrate on and focused on what i can do, and I've done my best of that. And also inside the locker room today we caught up with the newest member on the Eagles roster, that is Shippensberg, a lum and former member of the world champion Philadelphia Soul defensive end Jake Metz. Mets explained how excited he is to have an opportunity
to prove himself here with the Eagles. It was it was awesome. You know, my family was excited. I got to call everybody in town. I'm getting the opportunity to try to become an Eagle and it's it's it's a blessing. I'm real excited. Your local kids. So yeah, yeah, you know, I had so many friends and family members reaching out to me last night. I couldn't even get back to everyone. It's pretty overwhelming, but you know, I'm just focused on trying to do what I can to make this team.
