Hi, everybody. Welcome to Eagles three sixty on Philadelphia Eagles dot Com. Dave Spidero bow Wolf. The Eagles end the Seahawks preparing to clash on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. I've been saying this on week the litmus test. Bow You with me on that, Yeah, but we've sort of said that every weekend and every week is a litmus What I love about MONI I think it's for the number two seed in the NFC. How about this, How
that's not bad? How about the litmus test for the Eagles offense to find out against going against the best defense in the NFL, you really get a sense of where the Eagles are offensively in December in the stretch run here, there's no question about that. Three points allowed in each of the last two games for the Seahawks. We will see how Mark Sanchez and this offensive line and the running game can do against the Seahawks. We've
got your busy schedule for you today. Great show, and of course we're gonna check in on Chip Kelly and all those reports, those rumors about the University of Florida being interested in him. Chris McPherson has everything happening if an overcare complex. Our Eagles three sixty update presented by sports authority Chip Kelly. As Eagles in first place in the NFC East, should Eagles fans be concerned that he might jump ship and take a job at the University
of Florida and go back to the college ranks. He dismissed any rumors as silly on Wednesday. Nope, I want to get it out of the way. No. I think things that our faults are silly. You know, I've been very happy everywhere I've been, and I'm happy with he in here now. So if people are gonna have rumors about where you're gonna go on all those other things that, like I said, but in a lot of situations, no
one's ever asked. Running back Lashaw McCoy needs only forty eight yards to set the new all time franchise record for rushing yards in a career. He hopes to do so this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, but of course, they boast the league's number one defense. McCoy, however, is coming off his best performance of the year in the
win over the Dallas Cowboys. It's something cool, though, it really is I didn't imagine when I got drafted here did potentially have a chance to hold the Rustaurant record as an Eagle. So that's something big. That's something I'm looking forward to. I think the main goal is just to win the game, obviously, but in the way of doing that, I would love to accomplish that. Wide receiver Jerry Macklin has faced some of the league's best cornerbacks. In fact, his best game of the season came in
Arizona against All Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson. This Sunday, he looks to contend with Seattle's Richard Sherman. Macklin previews the matchup. I mean, you watch, you watch tape, you know, over anybody they've played, you know, obviously you see plays being made here and there. You know, one thing about this football league is everybody's here for a reason, you know. So I like my chances against anybody. You know, we got no respect for the secondary, you know, obviously with
Earl kind of leading away and you got Sherman. So they're very talented from the back end. Enough about sales defense. They have a quarterback who runs a zone read aarreably better than any in the NFL. In third year man Russell Wilson. The Eagles are fully aware of his talents and know how good he is at executing that zone read. Got a spot depends on what you're doing. You either spine a quarterbacker. There's a guy spine quarterbacker, Guy spine
the running back. You know, you gotta, like I said, everybody's gotta do their job. As long as everybody did the job. You can you can, you can, you can eliminate him. A quick note about the injury report. Nick Foles with the collarbone is out once again. Two players, Cody Parkey and Chris Polk were limited for the Eagles. That will do it for this edition of the three sixty Update, presented by Sports Authority, Let's send it back inside the studio for more with David bow Thank you
very much, Chris. A little later in the show, ESPN sal Pal comes by the studio and breaks down the Eagles and the Seahawks. And of course he'll have all of his statistics and his keys to the game. And I mean we like perspectives, bo. That's why I Cover two is such a good feature. That's right. We welcome you back at the Eagles three sixty Dave spidero bow Wolf Time for a little Cover two. That's ractation, which is interesting
because the Seahawks don't play Cover two. That's right, they play Cover three, and we'll find out whether esp really can see into the future. Elliot Shore Parks and Less Bowen talking about the Eagles. Hello Eagles fans, I'm Chris McPherson and welcome to this week's Cover two here on Philadelphia Eagles dot com. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend and to break down the wind over Dallas and preview the matchup with the cel Seahawks This Monday,
I can find out the field. I brought Less Bone from the Philadelphia Daily News and Elliot short Parks from NJA dot com. Less. What was the biggest surprise in your estimation about the beatdown that the Eagles laid at the hands of the Cowboys is Thursday, The biggest surprise was the Eagles defense and along with that how limited Tony Romo was. And I'm taking anything away from the Eagles, but I don't think anybody covered that angle going into
the game. He'd been dealing with this back injury, but he'd been playing really well the three days between that game at the Giants and this game. Really he was a shell of himself. He was going down three steps before rushers got to him. He was throwing the ball, you know, without a good platform and follow through. He was not the Tony Romo that you've seen most of the twenty fourteen seasons. And the Eagles defense was just ten points for the Cowboys. I would never have dropped
that in a million years. Well, Yet, at the same time, the tempo the the Eagles offense had, especially early in the game with Mark Sanchez. How important do you think that's gonna be moving forward for the Eagles if they're gonna want to get as far as they want to
go this season. I mean, I think it's gonna be huge in Sanchez has said himself that he likes the tempo and when he was with New York, his favorite style of offense they ran was the hurry up, and I think that's why you're seeing him be so efficient. I mean, look again, Dallas, he had he had a good game, not taking anything away from him, but he only ended with we have two hundred and nine passing
yards something like that. He was very efficient just getting the ball quickly out to the person in the flat. I mean, even his fifty yard pass to Macklin was a short pass, but it's still you know, it was a nice touch pass it with the right read. You don't always have to bomb a fifty yards down the field, especially in this offense, because chiplegs to get his players in space where they have the ability to run after
the ball. Last same thing in terms of the tempo and how far will that be for the Eagles, Well, I think that is Sanchez's biggest plus in the what we presume will be some sort of evaluation vicent the Nick Foles at some point. The tempo thing I think as a veteran quarterback, and that has surprised me because I really didn't see that coming when he took over for Foles. I didn't know that much about him. But I believe he'd made sixty two starts before he got
to the Eagles, and you can tell. I mean, he gets he sees what the defense is doing, he gets the signal, he gets everybody lined up, he gets it going quicker than Nick did. I don't think he throws the ball, and I don't think if vers the ball as well, but he gets that tempo, and that tempo is so crucial to what the Eagles want to do, and I think that's maybe more important to Chip than making all the throat. I'll talk with less on that point, though.
I do think Sanchez has shown very nice touch on the ball, which is big in this offense because I mentioned Chip lakes to get his guys running in space and moving, and I think where Nick struggled this year, it was hitting Claire's in stride and allowing them maybe overall, but this wasn't Mark threw two passes over twenty yards. Yeah, and it looked like in the red zone they just didn't really want to trust it to his arm. They kept,
you know, on the ground, throwing outside. They really didn't want him to throw a pick in the red zone. I mean, I really don't think he. I think with Nick they did more stuff in the passing game. Maybe they had to because the running game wasn't working that well. Less favorite matchup that you're looking forward to watch this Sunday, Ah, Marshawn Lynch. I guess against Fletcher Coxon, the boys up front. You know Lynch. Obviously they've already played DeMarco Murray, who's
the top rusher in the league. But Lynch is the hardest runner. Sean McCoy said that last night on his radio show that it's the hardest guy to bring down, and then people started on Twitter talking about Rob Grunkowski and running running back. Marshawn Lynch is the beast, and you know, if you stopped him their offense right now, they've gotten rid of Percy Harvin. I think you stop Marshawn Lynch, you stop the seatbuck Elliott. They were men.
If you're looking forward I'm looking forward to seeing Jeremy Macklin and Richard Sherman. I mean, the last time Macklin faced arguably the best cornerback in the league. Everyone sees it's Sherman or Patrick Peterson, Sherman or Patrick Pearson. We all remember what he did against Arizona. So I think Macklin takes he's as personal challenges. He's not a big talker like Sherman, but he gets up for these moments.
And it's gonna be key because he's the fourth most targeted wide receiver in the league and Sherman's second and targets I believe, so someone's gonna have to give this weekend, and Sherman's really picked it up. You know, there were some weeks there where people were really picking on him a little bit, but all of a sudden that's gone away. He's just lights out again. The two interceptions in a
win for the series or Nyers now less likes the Eagles. Ellie, it feels like every week I can't commit to the Eagles because I didn't think they'd beat Dallas, so I didn't pick the Gallas. But you know what, I think I am going to pick them this week. They proved a lot of a lot to me against Dallas, and they're at home and they're very hard to beat at home. All right, he's elishor Parchment dot Com. He's less Bone
from the Philadelphia Dale News. I'm Chris McPherson, and thank you very much for joining us in this week's edition. Enough cover two on Philadelphia Eagles dot Com. Well that's what two local guys thought about this Eagles team. How about one big national guy? Sal Pal wants the Eagles to win because if the Eagles win, he gets to
cover this team more and stay local. Just kidding. He doesn't care who wins the games, but he does find this matchup extremely intriguing, and we'll find out what he thinks about the Eagles and these Seahawks when Eagles three sixty returns. Septa is the way to get to game. I love taking the subway down there because I feel like i'm you know, with all fans. Everybody's got their gear on. People are channing and cheering on the train before you even get to the station. There's a sense
of camaraderie because Philly loves their sports teams. It's really fun. It's Philadelphia work work work, Eagles fans, you win. When I was a little kid, I thought riding sept it was just the coolest thing. I thought. I'm on this big piece of metal blazing down these tracks. There's people ringing bells above me, there's honking going on, there's trees flying by. It's fantastic. We welcome you into the studio. Dave Spernaro joined by ESPN Sal Palatonio. Eagles Seattle. What a ball
game on Sunday. Yeah, back to back to back great ball games for us to cover on ESPN. We can go Dallas, Seattle, Dallas, and this is the biggest game I think to come down the pike here in a long time Super Bowl champions. They got a lot of big stars. There's so much history. You got two Pac
twelve coaches squaring off against each other. You know, both of these coaches, there's so many there's so much ego involved for both of them, and I think it just you know, it transforms itself into a battle between coaches and quarterbacks. But I think the fans are really into this game. You go around the city. They're into it because it's Carol against chip Kelly. Right, it's Carol's defense against chip Kelly's offense, which I find the most intriguing
matchup of the matchups. What gives here the unstoppable force until you get into the red zone against him. I know you were gonna ask me that question, So I hit the way back machine, went back and I looked at two thousand and nine Halloween up in Oregon. Yes, Chip Kelly versus Pete Carroll one time. It's the time, Chief chip Kelly randible forty nine times in that game and they ran for three hundred ninety one yards. Now, Jeremiah Massoli at thirteen carries for one and sixty four
out of the quarterbacks not gonna happen. But I do think the way to stop Pete Carroll's defense is to run right at it. And I think that's what you'll see. This is a ship eight game, no question. And without Brandon Mebane in there and Kevin Williams, I know, is playing well for Seattle, still there is a bit of
a drop off there. You lose your best defensive tackle. Well, there's that, plus the fact that their backup defensive ends are playing in Florida, in Tampa Jacksonville, so they don't have the depth that they had last year where they could run different combinations of guys at you in the third and fourth quarter. So I think two things. The way you attack it run the football and then tempo tempo tempo, And without a doubt, this is where the tempo will really come into play. And here's the thing.
It's a significant tactical advantage for Chip Kelly and the Eagles because you can't practice it during the week. You can't really simulate it during the week, and if you try, once you get into the game, like Dallas, they're like, really, it goes this fast and it doesn't stop. And I think once the Cowboys realize that midway in a second quarter that it wasn't going to stop and the Eagles were going to run that red hot machine gun style offense all the way through the game. A demoralization sets
in that they really can't catch their breath. The other thing is I watched it over and over again. You don't sub very much. Yeah, and when you don't suck, that's it. You don't sub very much. That dictates matchups. So you've got the significant tactical advantage, and you dictate matchup through tempo. That's the way you beat Pat Pete Carroll's offense. But you know sal that you you know the Eagles are gonna throw the football. You know they're
gonna try to get very much, not very much. You're gonna run down the field, down the field, down the field, down the field. On Thanksgiving they had forty five rushes and twenty nine pences with a big, big, big lead at halftime. Yep, no question. So so that's a little bit different. But I was there are going to put it. There are going to be times when Mark Sanchez will drop back and look for an open receiver. How do you see the matchup Eagles receiving Corps against the Legion
of boom Well. The design of Chip Kelly's offense is a good antidote for what they do, which is a Cover three defense where they have the safety over the top. So when you're playing a cover three defense, what's the way they attack crossing patterns underneath, get guys caught up in the wash. Make sure with that misdirection. They did a great job with misdirection and boot action against the Cowboys. I think you'll see a lot of that against the Seattle Seahawk on the other side of the ball. The
Seattle is a run first offense. Everything works off of the run, with the beast Marshawn Lynch, the mobility of Russell Wilson. You're Bill Davis, what kind of design you're putting in here, mush rush? You know, the Eagles are still a top ten blitzing team. They're blitzing thirty six percent of the time, which just gets them right at the top ten. They've been around there all year long. Seattle,
by the way, twenty third in blitzing. I think blitz numbers are important when you're attacking the quarterback now, especially because how difficult it is to play in the secondary. The way they're calling penalties, so I think they'll mush rush Russell Wilson. Wilson's very good. What a running laterally behind the line of screen. It's to buy time like France Harkington very reminiscent. It's Tarkington, so you're not going to blitz him very much. And their wide receivers are okay,
they're pedestrian, they're not great. Same thing with their tight ends. Okay, pedestrian. The key is get him into third, second and third and long. You like the Eagles, It sounds to me like you're picking the Eagles. I am. First of all, they're six and oh at home. They're scoring thirty five points a game. Second, third of all, I like coming here, ye man, I do you know it's hard for me to pick against the team that's six and oh at home, David,
It really is. Yeah, And you're scoring thirty five points a game. They're not gonna blow them out. This is not the Dallas Cowboys. You're not gonna blow them out, but you're gonna win the game. South puntill you you heard it from him. Eagles over Seattle on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. We thank you so much for joining us on Philadelphia Eagles dot com. Hi, my name is Jim Taylor. Time now to go to the Fancave where Beau Wolf has joined Chris McPherson and Fran Duffy talking about the NFC East below Eagles fans. I'm Chris McPherson and welcome to another edition of Bob's discount Farer presents around the NFC East. I'm joined by bow Wolf and Fran Duffy
as always. So when are we gonna call this segment Eagles the Kings of the Division or something along those lines where it's basically the Eagles own the NCAST After there to come up with a better name, You're you're gonna have to work shop it. That's fine, that's fine, yeah, you know, but we we you know how that's a good one's good, that's not bad. There we go, so do a rewind here Bob's discount for presents a top the NFC East. You can pride. Yeah, the work of
the telestrator. It's got the air. It works. There we go, there we go. It works. So the Eagles dominate the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving, enjoying a holiday feast by a thirty three to ten margin. I mean, what was what was it like for you guys back here in Philadelphia. The atmosphere in Arling, the Texas was absolutely electric or tons of Eagles fans who greed us at the team hotel,
Plenty of Eagles fans in the stands. It was great in the fourth quarter when I even made a joke on Twitter that you need to get pest control because all the cockroaches were leaving the facility at one time, just scattering around. And anytime the Eagles made a play, you hurt cheers because all the Eagles fans are all texting as we're trying to furnish your dinner. Look, I mean, the Eagles came out and they took care of business.
And we talked last week. One of the keys of the game, actually for the foe, came up with the kickoff show was the defense coming out and you know, talking or walking the walk after talking to talk and throughout the week and Fletcher Cox and Benny Logan, those guys up front, they walked the walk, and you know, stopping the run was not just necessarily Obviously, Mark Moreheads he was rushing yards of this season, but that was sort of because of the both game, but he also
had his pus yards per carreg of the season. So even when they were running the ball, they were not running the balls effectively as they have this season. Those got that front seven has been so good against the run all year and they've proved to be the better at least on Thanksgiving. We'll see what happens, especially against
the stretch play. Stretch play which we've seen multiple times without the course in season, and the Eagles have been fantastic that stopping and then you knew that's what Dallas was going to do and they got away from it because of how unsuccessful they were. So Eagles ninety three, we know there remains schedule. Let's look at Dallas eight and four. I mean, there's a chance that in two weeks time, Sudday the football, the Eagles could be playing
the Cowboys to clinch the NFCS. The only way that that's not the case is if the Eagles lose this week and the Cowboys win this week, any other any other scenario, the Eagles will be playing to clinch the division with the winner or the Cowboys. Yeah, and it'll be Uh, it's gonna be a big game regardless. I mean, even if we are if we do win the division that following that week, I mean, we're still trying to play for that number one, trying to play for the
four seed. So thanks to New England for all of your help. Well, and I'll tell you what that's this week against the Seahawks. I'm I believe that this game is for the number two seeds. I guess we'll devote the last thirty seconds or so to the Giants in Washington. Never never, never, never, never never never never never never count out touchdown, Blake, you got the Jaguars. Baby Giants are three to nine after blowing a twenty one to nothing lead at the end of Gus Bradley and Jackson
Coffin's homecoming. It was alumni day for the Jaguars. Tell you what what a day. It was the biggest comfort behind Wayne in Jags history. Is the first time that they scored. And here's the thing. Two of the touchdowns by the Jags, it wasn't, you know, Blake Bortles, it was the defense. Yeah. I mean, look, they're they're they're in a rut man. I mean with the last win, the last win, when was when was the last win?
It was before, it was a week before they played. Then, it's been a it's been a rough common month for the j Jimmy Keemski tweeted, Uh, the Giants haven't won since they stomped on the Eagles logo prior to that Sunday night game. Yeah, Washington got smoked by Indianapolis. Colt McCoy remains the starting quarterback. Defense is think do we think do we think that that Tom Coffin will be here next year? No? I don't know. That's that's tough one. He's done a lot, He's won two one two super Bowls.
Those his face gets redder than anybody else. But bo the resounding Yes. Here, here's a question, what's the bigger concern the coach or the quarterback situation? I would say the general talent on the on the roster as a concern. But as we say, every week. They do have the best young receiver in the game, probably one of them. Yeah, I mean it's a ton, but there was a there was the new The newest clip was him spinning the football, Yeah, spending the football in practice and then kicking a thirty
two yard field goal. Yeah, pretty nice, big shou shimmy. Yeah, there it is right on cue. All right. How about Washington three and nine, the loser Indie they have the Rams of giants, the Eagles and then Dallas. Well, the Rams are giants. We'll get a win and that probably Colba Coy looked good. He moves that offense. He's their
best quarterback for sure, playing in that offense right now. Yeah, I mean, you know, but I haven't watched the game closely, but just seeing you know, the numbers and kind of watching from far on TVC and the highlights, it seemed like he moved the ball better than our three had the previous couple of weeks. The problem we couldn't stop it, I correct myself. The problem is they couldn't stop Andrew luck who had five or six touchdowns. It was a
career high. Five to Patrick Patrick had the six yeah, so yea yeah, so on that note that is Bob's Discount Furniture presents a top Thanks for joining us, all right, thank you very much, guys. Welcome back to the set Bow, and welcome back to Eagles three sixty.
Bradley Fletch, your Eagles cornerback, has come a long way along with this Eagles defense in two years. I just think about it. Bow. When Chip Kelly came here hired Bill Davis. Eagles had a four three defense, change it to a three four, A lot of issues early ups and downs. I think this is ready to go in the stretch run. Yeah, And of course those guys on the outside, the cornerbacks are asked to do so much in this defense is often playing on an island. And
really they've acquitted themselves pretty well. Bradley Fletcher and Kerry Williams doing a pretty good job. Yeah. And what is one of the keys to the success the improvement of the Eagles defense, Bradley Fletcher says, it's the ability to communicate. As we find out here being in the second year within a system here, we're able to do a lot
of different things defensively. Showed a lot of different looks, different blitz schemes and how to d line stunts, and there's all kinds of different things that we can do just with how familiar we are with each other and in our defensive schemes.
