Speaker 1

So this is weird. We're sitting opposite each other.

Speaker 2

It's a little disturbing. It's weird.

Speaker 1

It's like we're on a date.

Speaker 2

We'll just mention we're in a new studio.

Speaker 1

Now, this is our new studio.

Speaker 2

I think this is really I was actually blown away by the effort.

Speaker 1

You'd actually this with my bare hands.

Speaker 3

I went to Bunnings and I got some foam and some high performance HD cameras and I called up Scottie Cammed.

Speaker 2

And he's knocked up the studio.

Speaker 1

It looks knocked up the studio.

Speaker 2

So I think that obviously this isn't a vodcast, but maybe it can be in the future. You never know, do you. Yeah, But head to our I guess social media, and you'll see some clips from the studio, so you can get a feel for what this looks like. And I'm excited and surprised.

Speaker 3

Head to our social media. Head to our social media. We're on the internet, on the world Wide Web. Thank you, Paul, Thank you for pointing that out where on the social media.

Speaker 1

We're on Instagram, just.

Speaker 3

Say social social just just thought out there. sALS. Hey, one thing I wanted to talk to you about was I'm trying to say this with a straight face. BYD Cars, I went to the launch of the I guess it's the brand launch.

Speaker 2

Really yep.

Speaker 3

And they've released or they announced and they launched the ad.

Speaker 1

O three and.

Speaker 2

Interesting launch. Well hold on, let's let's preface this by saying, BYD is I think one of the biggest Chinese car manufacturers.

Speaker 3

I believe it's the second highest selling car brand in China. I was only the Impression Hovel's number one, BYD number two and over there.

Speaker 1

This is interesting in terms of electric cars.

Speaker 3

Apparently your beloved Tesla is kind of it's kind of cast aside. It's the Chinese car of China, do you know what I mean?

Speaker 2

Yeah, And the company is actually backed by or in part by Warren Buffett, so they're known for their battery technology. They actually sell batteries to Tesla and also for electric buses and a number of other things. And they've said they're coming to Australia to launch an suv which is forty five grand. You went to the launch and got to see it launch. About how you were dressed for the launch?

Speaker 3

I was, I was, if look, if there's anything I've learned from you it's not about cars, it's just how to dress like a hobo from an ice cream soup kitchen.

Speaker 2

So you went to the launch dressed like me?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 2

And what happened?

Speaker 3

And there was the first There was a red carpet there. Have you ever been to a red carpet car launch?

Speaker 2

Not for a Chinese electric car?

Speaker 1

No Ah. There was a woman, a well to do woman, I kid you not. She was wearing fur and carrying a small dog. She was I was like, where am I? I feel like I'm in Aaron's London? What am I doing here?

Speaker 3

It was the strangest thing, and no one was really kind of when they released the car and everyone was kind of oh. The best bit was when they were announcing the price. I guess the SEO of the Australian branch of the company was like, and we can announce that we are going to be selling this car at forty five thousand dollars drive away and everyone went, oh, oh oh, he saved the economy.

Speaker 1

Oh did you hear.

Speaker 3

That Luco divide? Which was what, like, if these are well to do people and what are they clapping for forty five? It was just odd and I took a big burly Greek friend of mine who looks like he's a criminal, and he probably is.

Speaker 1

Everyone was kind of hovering over the car. I was the only one who sort of wed in.

Speaker 3

I wanted to have a look, and I opened the boot and the woman with the small dog comes up next to me and looks in and just goes, oh, divine what And my mate, the big burly Greek criminal has just gone lovely as them.

Speaker 1

And then I started going, oh, this is fabulous.

Speaker 3

And we both just were going on this rand, and she, oh, my god, do you reckon some of the people anyway?

Speaker 2

After?

Speaker 1

I sorry?

Speaker 2

Do you think that some of the people were perhaps paid to be there, you know, like a rental crowd?

Speaker 3

Ah, there was definitely your married at first sight contestants there, And I'll go to the opening of an envelope.

Speaker 2

Well, that's the thing I find really strange. The selection of people they had there you included, was just a very very odd mix. And to me, it just seemed odd that they really didn't.

Speaker 3

Were just pissed off because you didn't get an invite that stuff, You didn't get to carry a small dog around.

Speaker 2

That's that's very true. I would have loved to see that. In fact, I'd love to actually just speak to anyone there. It's been literally impossible to talk to any there. No one wants to tell anyone what's going on. Which when they had this lavish event, I thought, well, maybe that's going to change and they'll actually do something now. But so what happened didn't.

Speaker 3

You're so bitter. You're so bitter. Oh, no one will even speak to me. That's because you've been blacklisted from China. I for one would like to put it out there. I support our new Chinese overlords. Whatever you want to do, I'm cool with it.

Speaker 2

So since then, we actually managed to interview the boss of that company and I almost fell off my chair laughing, because they claim that by twenty twenty five they will be a top five brand in Australia and will have launched eight new ev models. Now that is Look, this is the thing that is highly highly ambitious, and I don't think it'll happen. If it does excellent, Good on them.

I really sort of applaud them for that. But for a company that's been impossible to get a hold of so far, nothing that they've promised has actually come true in more way, well, all of the cars they promised that we're going to be here, aren't. We can't drive this car. I don't know, like when when? I know nothing of it. Up until last week they were claiming that you would buy the car from a my Car service center, so you'd go in to get your tire puncture fixed and then you would pick up your new

ev BYD. And I've been to a few my Car places and the people at work there are great, but they're just literally mechanic workshops. I don't understand how you will have a So now they've partnered with Eagers, which is Australia's biggest dealer group, to help distribute some cars, but they're still using my car in regional areas, so if you live in like Ballarat, you have to go bloke there with a flat tire.

Speaker 1

And bloody electric car.

Speaker 2

Well, so look, I hope it works for them, I really do. But so far everything they've promised really hasn't happened. And they think this thing will go and sail by midyears. So I bet you, I bet you it will happen. I hope it. Look, I hope it does.

Speaker 3

Do you know what the weird thing I found? I noticed about the byds. They love a badge. Oh, they love a badge. If you look at the back of these cars, they've got like five different, five different badges on the back.

Speaker 1

They look like some sort of a Scouts uniform sort of thing.

Speaker 2

No, but that's that's a popular thing in China often. We had a Chinese guy that worked for us at our previous company, and he had an Ouda six and he put the Chinese badges on the back of it. And the Chinese badges are there in addition to the English writing, So the cars have all this wording on the back that supplement to all the English stuff. So I think it's just a Chinese market thing.

Speaker 1

What do you think BYD stands for?

Speaker 2

I know what it said stands for, all right.

Speaker 3

It's weird because on the back of it says build your Dreams. And I'm like, what a weird what a weird statement? And it took me a long time to work out that's what by D stands for.

Speaker 2

Some of the car names are weird as well. They've got the dolphin.

Speaker 1

Oh are we talking abot cars? Are we talking about? What's in your bottom drawer?

Speaker 2

The Aasto three, I think is a weird one. They've got the T three. There's just so many strange names out there. So look, I don't want to sound cynical, although I obviously do sound cynical, but you are. I am all for cheap Chinese cars because it means the rest of the manufacturers will have to respond and actually price things logically and not outrageously like some of them

are at the moment. But I just have issues with not how honest they're being, but just how forthcoming they are with information.

Speaker 3

By D interesting one to watch. Another one that you brought up as we were coming in here is Porsche and making their own synthetic fuel.

Speaker 1

Is that right?

Speaker 2

Yeah, So it's really fascinating because Porsche doesn't want to kill the electric car. They're building electric stuff. We know that their future cars will be electric in part or fully electric. But what they've done is they've invested heavily in synthetic fuels and they have a plant in chilean partnership with Siemens and a number of other sort of petrochemical companies. But they want to create up to five

hundred and fifty million liters by twenty twenty six. And the concept is that they want you to still be able to own your older Porsche and know that you can still fill it with fuel. Yeah, And they want to be able to produce this even if oil dries up. So they want to have these fuels that will that will work for these cars. They reckon it reduces emissions by around eighty five percent compared today's unleaded fuels. But

I don't know. It just seems odd to me because if you can do that, why have people done that?

Speaker 1

Right?

Speaker 2

So it seems to me that perhaps it'll be really expensive to produce. And if that's the case, you can still own your old Porsche, but it might be ten dollars a liter for the fuel. Yeah, which I think people would be happy with. If the future is electric and your primary car is going to be electric, perhaps your Porsche is powered by that ten dollars aleter fuel that you drive occasionally.

Speaker 3

Sorry, I had a few drinks last night. I'm very happy you can sponsor.

Speaker 1

I'm trying.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I'm trying so hard to to keep it together, but I just want to vomit under the desk. It's a really smart move to make your own synthetic fuels. I mean, you're not relying on any like any other country sort of thing, not relying on Russia.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I think it's a fantastic idea because it really just does mean that you have a solid supply in the future, you can continue servicing your customers cars. They'll probably say that if you fuel your car with our synthetic fuel, will guarantee the engine because it's compatible with their current cars. So I love that they're doing this.

They're obviously fully into developing their next lot of evs as well, so they are pushing forward with all that stuff, but they are still keeping an eye on this, and I think for the purest out there who still wants to own an internal combustion car in the future, there is still a future you will still be able to buy this if Porscha has its way.

Speaker 3

Hey, speaking of lush car launchers, well I went to a lush one and you went to the Ford Everest.

Speaker 2

I'm gonna say the Ford people treated me very nicely, but yes, we were the car that I drive down or I had a key EV six. We drive to the Ford proven ground to have a look at this car and drive it around and all that sort of stuff, and it's ages away, so it's in like regional Victoria, but also down like this rutted corrugated gravel road. So by the time I got back to my car after the thing, it looked like I'd been to the Denny

Yute muster and back. The thing was covered in dust and I thought, Jess, I'm gonna have to wash.

Speaker 3

That slab of bunderbird rub in the back, and some woman called chas Hang mom.

Speaker 2

So I went to check it out and look it kind of building on the ranger that you went and had to look at as well. Ford's gone to town on this. So three and a half done brake towing capacity available with the V six diesel. There's a new top top grade called the Platinum that's going to come with all of the bells and whistles. So it's like front and rear headed seats, heated steering wheel, matrix led headlights.

They really have thrown the feature book at this, which makes me think it's going to be expensive when it does launch. But keep in mind, to Prato Kakada's a ninety grand proposition, it wouldn't surprise me if this Nudge is that ninety grand mark as well. And of course last episode we spoke about the Raptor, which I finally got a chance to see in person again without all the camo.

Speaker 1

Nice.

Speaker 3

That thing is a beast, so nice, absolute beast and that new Ford design language looks like it's shaped it's specifically made almost for the Raptor, because it just looks so bad ass.

Speaker 1

What do you think about it? On the Everest look, it.

Speaker 2

Depends on the spec. We had a look at a sports Speck which was all blacked out, and that looked really nice as well. The car that we filmed was a Trend, which I think is like a second up from the base model, and I thought that looked a little basic, but the Platinum looked amazing, like they had these open, poor wood grain inside. It actually looked like a really premium vehicle. So I think this is going

to go crazy when they launch it and Ford. I mean, we got senter Dealer bulletin saying that Ford is bringing in seven thousand ranges to launch with sounds like a lot, except that's only like a month or two months of supply. So I have a feeling we're going to end up in a situation again where something new and fresh launches and you just cannot get one, there will be a

giant waiting list. So I think if you are interested in an Everest, a Raptor or a Ranger, you need to get on the waiting list right now and don't leave it until the car's launched, because you will you'll miss out.

Speaker 3

Is this chip shortage still? I kind of was under the impression. I thought to myself, I reckon, by July, we'll sort of start to see, you know, everything kind of somewhat returning back to normal shipping prices and you know, logistic costs and all that sort of stuff kind.

Speaker 1

Of would come back down. But I don't know, I just feel like this is almost.

Speaker 2

The new norm And I'm like, why, well, let me tell you how f the situation is. We thought it'd be the same by now, we'd be back to normality. Bosh and Bosh. I know a lot of people think Bosh makes washing machines and stuff, but they also make a lot of car components and semiconductors. Bosh has gone to town on building semi conductors, but they've now announced that they're invested an additional four hundred million dollars into a new plant that makes just semiconductors. They reckon they

won't have that plant ready until twenty twenty five. So the whole world is now thinking, Okay, well the supply of this stuff out of China isn't working. There's all these trade issues with China. We need to sort out our own semiconductor supply. Well, these are going to be expensive because you've got to build the plants and pay them back. The locations where you build these semiconductors. They need to be white rooms, so they're basically air sealed, dustproof.

It's expensive to build this stuff, so they can't just click their fingers and go, well, let's just buy a machine off eBay to three D print some semiconductors. So it does show you that if Bosh is saying they won't have this new plant up and running until twenty twenty five, we're likely to see this pushing on for another six twelve, maybe even longer. Wow, crazy, isn't it?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 3

I know America has in the last couple of months has started to kind of feel the impact a lot in their car market. I know, like a lot of outspoken industry people over there were like, why don't we build our own semiconductor plant?

Speaker 2

No shit, surely.

Speaker 1

Yeah, where were you? Where were you on that one?

Speaker 2

But it's easy to say. But China has been doing this for decades and they have it down pat it's cheap to manufacture. They are the masters of this small componentry. The world didn't realize how important that componentory was until COVID hit in different industries started ramping up. So yes, we're realizing that now, but we're paying the cost of it with you know, demand for cars. People want more cars because they're not going on holidays. They're buying these things.

They're working from home. Monitors have semiconductors. Everything seemingly has a semiconductor. Fell off my seat when I heard Volkswagen was having issues with toe bars because of semiconductors, and I thought, where is the semiconductor on a tobar? But it was in the wiring harness, so oh yeah, right. It's just the smallest things that will make your toe bar incomplete. It's the random little thing you didn't think of.

Speaker 3

Yeah, yeah, yeah, should we talk a lexus? Yes, let's do it do that?

Speaker 1

Yes again?

Speaker 3

Yes, you should do a radio show. You should have like a pre I'd like to see you on Yes, yeah, there you go. I'd like to see you on what?

Speaker 1

What radio station? Would you be on? M I reckon the Edge. I talk about that with me. I'd like to see you on Smooth.

Speaker 2

I reckon Smooth.

Speaker 1

Yeah, give me a bit of what's up, guys.

Speaker 3

This is Paul and I'm about to play some Belinda Carlisle for you.

Speaker 1

Well, I open up.

Speaker 2

A bottle of red pe.

Speaker 3

They always talk about red wine and chocolates on Smooth. It's like they're reading off a Hallmark card. And as I listen to some air supply.

Speaker 2

Will tell me you're in the radio industry. Do they train them to have those voices? Because I heard Simon Diaz, who has a beautiful voice, and then Melissa Doyle or what it used to be on Sunrise and they have just this the tones and the the ESA's and it's.

Speaker 3

Just I feel like that was a bit of a rubbish on me. Actually, there radio, you're you.

Speaker 2

Have a selected audience type.

Speaker 1

Hot moms A. Yeah.

Speaker 3

Do you know what Melissa Doyle doesn't do it in a radio studio. She does it in a voice over booth. Oh, she's literally reading. Someone will write her scripts and she will deliver them. And one year I say this because one year, Melissa and myself, and she's lovely. We were up for an ACRO, which is a radio award, right for best music Presenter.

Speaker 1

Melissa Doyle got it.

Speaker 2

I'm like, what, so, you're obviously not too fussed about that.

Speaker 1

Not too fuss. I've got over it, clearly. I'm good on her.

Speaker 2

Well, I got to say that despite the aforementioned things. But I like her voice and it sounds like it's the voiceover studio that perhaps helps that.

Speaker 1

Yeah, but I think Simon Diaz does it the old school way.

Speaker 2

Okay, interesting, who's.

Speaker 1

The other one, Cameron Daddo?

Speaker 3

Oh yeah, I think there's a one of the Dado brothers, one of the Dado's.

Speaker 1

He does a show, Richard will Oh.

Speaker 2

Yes, I have heard him on Smooth. I think as well. He's got a nice voice, give me smooth.

Speaker 3

Let's let's let's put on some sort of I'll put on some music. Here there you go and give me Here we go, guys, we're just gonna go over to Paul.

Speaker 2

It's half past four and it's time for some horses. By who is right down?

Speaker 1

Jesus Christ, you didn't even say the call sign been fired?

Speaker 2

By Now, let's disappointing time call?

Speaker 1

Who needs a time call? In twenty twenty two, let's talk like a third chime.

Speaker 4

The twenty twenty two Lexus Inx prices start from fifty seven thousand, five hundred dollars. The one we reviewed is the Inix three hundred and fifty h IF Sport all wheel drive with an enhancement package at just over seventy eight thousand, five hundred dollars. Drive away.

Speaker 1

Lexus NX.

Speaker 2

Yeah, look this this really surprised me. So I Lexus NX. The old NX was a bit of a stinker. It was based on the old RAV four platform and it had been out for donkeys years. It wasn't very good by any stretch of the imagination. The new one, though, is fresh from the ground up, still based on the same TNGA platform that the RAV four uses. That stands for Toyter New Global Architecture, and then they build things

off it. So under the skin it is just a RAB four, right, But when you pull up in it and you saw it for the first time outside today going to it looks anything like a RAB four. If I didn't tell you it was a RAB four, would you have known?

Speaker 3

No one hundred percent night. Here's the thing Lexus I couldn't be less excited about.

Speaker 2

That's the thing. Lexus has always been an older person brand.

Speaker 1

To me.

Speaker 3

I see them and I'm like, it's an old bloke chucking his golf clubs in the back.

Speaker 1

I think you, actually, Paul on Smooth FM, I think you summed it.

Speaker 2

Up perfectly when you said, when you think of Lexis, it reminds you of Eddie maguire because that's the type of person you expect to drive on, an older, wealthy male,

right right. They're trying to change that, and the NX is leading that charge because they've rationalized the pricing and they've now made it a really comprehensive range, so you can go all the way from the entry level NX two fifty at like sixty grand all the way up to the plug in hybrid at ninety And the key difference is that the plug in hybrid is available in the rap Fall but not in Australia, so you can effectively have a RAV four prime, which is available in

the States here under the Lexus banner. Lexis then gives you premium service. It is literally when you go in to get your car serviced. They will know you by name. They will roll out the red carpet for you, just like with the woman and the dog when you go to your my car dealership, roll the red caver welcome Gold. So yeah, I think they've really struck struck gold here. So the one that I'm driving is the NX three fifty h have listened to this name, the NX three

fifty h F sport All will drive with Enhancement Pack two. Wow, so it's quite the name. But yeah, So this thing is loaded with all the kid that you need. Headed and cold seats, heated steering wheel, red leather inside. It's got this enormous infotainment system, so fourteen inch display.

Speaker 1

It looks fantastic.

Speaker 2

They've just really sort of nailed it. You get an app now as well, so you get remote connectivity with the car. You can start it.

Speaker 1

Keeping from your phone.

Speaker 2

That's it.

Speaker 1

That's cool.

Speaker 2

And plenty of room inside. Like you sat in the back, there was room there. And the pricing I thought was pretty good as well. It was around that eighty thousand dollar mark for that sort of version I was driving, which is quite a sort of top spec.

Speaker 3

They've really wrapped those seats in the leather, haven't they Like everywhere?

Speaker 1

There's leather everywhere.

Speaker 3

I feel like several cows proudly bowed down in the slaughterhouse to make this, to make one car.

Speaker 2

It is As an owner of a child, would you be concerned about having that much leather with a kid in the car?

Speaker 1

Yeah? No, probably not.

Speaker 3

I just figure, honestly, once you have a kid, you just kind of have to deal with it. Just just know that whatever you're driving is gonna look like a piece of shit in by day two.

Speaker 2

Well, how do you go with your car? You've got a stinger? Right, how do you go with having the kid in that? And the leather?

Speaker 1

Oh?

Speaker 3

Horrendous because it's she throws like yogurt around the place and all this sort of stuff and biscuits down on the seats and just shit everywhere.

Speaker 2

I'm actually more concerned about my wife. She is she's shaded. Well, she's banned from having food in the car. Every car I have she will spill something in there. So the rule is now you're not allowed to have food in the car. My daughter, that's fine, you can eat whatever you want. My wife no food. Serious, She's got your far a wonderful husband.

Speaker 3

Yes, like if I went around to your place, it probably sounded like the bloody you rush into Ukraine border. Sorry anyway, moving on putin what are we talking about Lexus? Yes?

Speaker 1

Sorry?

Speaker 3

The problem with my car is too it's got the perforated leather seats. Yes, so when food drives up, I literally to get like a little pin and like pick it all out.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

So the perforations are what concerned me about the IX because that was perforation city on the entire thing, and that's what worries me about. You know, nice cars and kids. So I don't know if anyone's listening. Contact at the drive show dot com dot are you do you have a nice car? And if so, how do you deal with children in your nice car? Do you have any tips for us mere mortals and my wife?

Speaker 1

Overall?

Speaker 3

I'm not a I'm generally not a Lexus fan. Will this attract a younger market? I'm not convinced, Okay, I just think the pricing's great. I was surprised by the price the infertainment system. That bloody screen is huge and tidy looking and neat. It's really nice, but it's still it's.

Speaker 1

Not a cool car.

Speaker 3

It's not like, as you said, at the end of the days, it's a tricked up rap.

Speaker 2

For yeah, okay, well let's see what happens. We'll be publishing our review on that. But by the time this goes live. But that I've just noticed the people that I've had contacting me asking about it, they've all been fairly youngish, youngish family type people. So yeah, I'll be interested to see whether is that just a case of there's no other cars on the market and this is new, so I'm just going to go buy it, or is it a case of it being gentrified and you know.

Speaker 3

Brand wise, do you still think it's like it's in the same sort of lux league as say it's German competitors.

Speaker 2

Look, I think that the experience is better than the competition. So obviously I haven't owned those German cars news, so I can't comment, but I do know that every person I've spoken to that owns Alexis loves the experience they are they'll deliver you cars for servicing, like they will go out of their way to really make your experience good. Then equally, some of the people I know with those German cars are not treated all that great sometimes, so yeah, I think that if it is a service thing and

perhaps you know, yeah, I don't know. Let's see. I'll be keen for some feedback once people start getting their cars and just seeing who's driving them as well.

Speaker 3

I'd like to know what people think, how this compares to its competition, like the ai Q five x three L Yes, in the Volvo XC.

Speaker 2

Sixty maybe yeah, look, I think it's nice. So I'll be keen to see who buys it and whether they enjoy driving it, and whether they're buying it for the luxury stuff or whether they're just buying it because it was the only thing that's available.

Speaker 3

Now let us know on the social media if you could, that would be darts. Hey are you buying a new car?

Speaker 2

Yes?

Speaker 1

What are you buying?

Speaker 2

Well you have to wait and see why.

Speaker 3

Because you want a big viratube video. I'll do it, guys.

Speaker 2

I'll put some I'll get one of my commodorees out and then I'll do like a big burnout, and then in the burnout it will be like a smoke.

Speaker 1

Like a gender reveal.

Speaker 3

Do you know what The guy I work with, Kyle Sandlans he's having a baby and for his gender reveal.

Speaker 1

This was the absolute bets. I love this.

Speaker 3

He took a major boat, like a big ass souper yacht in the middle of Sydney Harbor and got two of those red Bull trick planes crazy planes to fly over Sydney Harbor, fly over the boat and release the smoke of.

Speaker 2

That is amazing. All that would probably have do my burnout. So that's impressive. See, he's another guy that I haven't met him, but I would think that if he was to tragically pass away, and I don't obviously don't wish that upon him, but I think he would be another guy that has lived a very wholesome and full life.

Speaker 3

Full life indeed, yeah, I don't know about wholesome, but busy life.

Speaker 1

He's lived a laugh man. He's a man.

Speaker 3

He's been from homeless to really Oh yeah, it was homeless at like sixteen. I had no idea that a home and in forged his own sort of thing. Yes, what are you buying?

Speaker 2

You'll have to wait and see. So I did take delivery of my US vehicle, so that's now at home.

Speaker 1

That was a US vehicle.

Speaker 2

I imported a car from the States that I I will tell you about later.

Speaker 3

Can I take a guess and you don't have to reveal it. But when you give a warmer closer, yes, go colder thing.

Speaker 1

Is it a truck?

Speaker 2

Yes, I know what it is. It's green.

Speaker 1

I know what it is. Is it a GMC.

Speaker 2

No, No, you will never guess it, and I'll reveal it later. Truck Right now isn't the best time, and you'll understand why when you see it.

Speaker 3

But yeah, okay, so you're getting that car, but you've also got another one on order?

Speaker 2

Well, yes, I will soon.

Speaker 1

Yeah, right, and so is this other car?

Speaker 2

The other car is electric?

Speaker 1

Yes, I was going to say it's going to be electric, right? Is it the plaid?

Speaker 2

No?

Speaker 1

Is it a Tesla?

Speaker 2

Still if I tell you the brand, there's only like one car it could possibly be, So you'll just have to wait and see explain later.

Speaker 1

Boring, Why are you getting another Tesla?

Speaker 2

Anyway? So we would love, now that we're at that part of the show, for you guys to leave us a rating. Some people have been leaving us rating and I've got some back during the week that we're going to share with you.

Speaker 1

Here we go.

Speaker 2

This is from Daniel. Daniel said, love your podcast, but your mate needs to tone down the jokes. That's his name, Daniel.

Speaker 1

Hey, Daniel good SLF.

Speaker 2

So we got an email from Cameron and Cameron said, hey, fellas, been enjoying the new podcast over here working in Beijing. Well maybe, Cameron, do you see byds over there? I'd be interested to see whether they're a thing and whether you see many around loving the banter between you and talking about the relevant new models. So there you go.

Speaker 1

Yeah, take that, Daniel.

Speaker 2

They got to do some scenarios where if you had a certain price point, what performance car would you get? Eg? One hundred k. Enjoyed the honest, ironic five of you can you hear thoughts about Pollstar and best sized mid sized SUVs with poke that are still fun to drive? So let me ask you while I look up these other emails that we got, what would you buy for one hundred k performance car new or fairly new? It doesn't have to be brand new, but fairly new.

Speaker 1

I would get for one hundred k.

Speaker 3

I reckon I might be able to get a secondhand Porsche Cayman.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, it's not a bad idea, I reckon.

Speaker 1

I get that.

Speaker 2

And you've got to keep in mind as well that the Cayman is going electric. Yeah, so that probably is actually happening, yeah eventually. Yeah, so that wouldn't be a bad idea one hundred K for me. You know, what I still really think is just an amazingly stupidly cool car is the Tesla Model three Performance. Just kidding. No BMWM two competition or the CS if you can find

one for that price. But I just I was watching a review the other day about the new M two forty ie and the blog owned an M two comp and he was driving it at the same time, and I'm like, that is still an awesome car. It is turbo six. I think in five or ten years time a car like that just won't exist. And I think the fact that it did exist at one point with like an M three engine under.

Speaker 1

The gone such a great rev tom as well.

Speaker 2

Yeah, they just sound incredible. So I think for me, if I wanted to have like a dedicated track car where I'd be happy to modify it and not use it as a daily okay, that would be that would be fun, I reckon. Another email that we got was from Peter. He wrote, I love the show, very informative and entertaining to boot. Also anti Dan, He's asked if we can review the Subaru Forester. He's in the market for a new car and this particular one keep getting good reviews, so yes, we will try.

Speaker 1

And what do you think of those?

Speaker 2

Well?

Speaker 1

Look, should we do the should we save it for a room?

Speaker 2

Yes? Ok, yeah, let's say it. I like them, but there's a couple of things we need to talk about. And he also wrote, always look forward to the next episode, coming out to see how good he can get under Paul's skin. Ah.

Speaker 3

Wow, I got onto Paul's pants once and that was there wasn't much of their experience.

Speaker 1

Sorry Daniel. Sorry, didn't mean to bring the level down, bro. Sorry man, But yeah, please do.

Speaker 2

You like these guys? Contact at the Drive show dot com, todau or we're on social media as well. But please do leave us a rating because that pushes us up the rankings and makes us visible to other people as well. So and yeah, if you want to see our studio, head to the social media's.

Speaker 3

Head to the social media on Instagram. What do you think of my plant selection? It's I love a good fern?

Speaker 1

Yeah?

Speaker 2

Are they real? I don't think so.

Speaker 1

Um, have a look at it.

Speaker 2

I don't think so. No, that's very plastic.

Speaker 3

So that explains I got such a bad headache smoking it earlier. What do you think of you on the giant screen?

Speaker 2

I can see that it turns you on, which I find a little concerning. I do love your denim jacket, though.

Speaker 1

God, remember I used to fit into that thing. I gave you such an old photo. I've put on twenty kilos since that photo.

Speaker 2

Twenty oh?

Speaker 1

Sorry? Was that more to your standard there, Daniel? Have you like that one? Brah? What are you wearing? Dirty little polo shirt?

Speaker 2

I know that was the last minute shoot that one, but wow.

Speaker 3

My profile photo is basically like my ass. It looks pretty good from a distance, but when you get up real close, it's just a big hole full.

Speaker 2

Of shit and hairs on it.

Speaker 1

Ye look at that, God, look at my eyes. I look like John English.

Speaker 2

Anyway, See you next week, See you next week, next four
