Closing in on the one o'clock hour as we continue rolling through Day three coverage of the twenty twenty one NFL Draft on one oh five three The Fan and Dallas Cowboys Dot Com from Inside the Star in Frisco. We are three picks in to the fifth round, and with the final selection of the fourth round for the Dallas Cowboys at one thirty eight, they selected offensive tackle Josh Ball out of Marshall. He's on the line, Josh, Congratulations, A big day for you coming from Huntington all the

way to Frisco. What's going through your mind right now? Wow? Just what an amazing opportunity. Can't wait be down there Frisco and just to be a part of the Dallas Cowboys organization. And it's it's just a blessing and uh, I'm ready. I'm ready to the work. Hey, Josh, you know you're sitting here watching your name come off. The scouting part on you is, you know, the natural talent to have maybe gone yesterday higher in the draft and maybe it's more issues with your time at Florida State

that led to you falling today. I'm just curious what this draft process has been like to uh, for you and what your conversations have been like with NFL teams and with the Cowboys, Uh, to help teams get a handle on all that. Yeah. Absolutely, you know, the pass of the past. It's over with and done with. Everybody's moved on. Um, And I don't really have a comment

about that. It's just uh, it's just a lot uh you know, about getting to know me as a as a person and getting getting to know my mental side on the ball stuff and uh just seeing how my mind works, uh with with with the protections, run game and stuff like that, and just kind of running that through my head and seeing how I work and put things together. So uh, you know that's how most of

these calls went, especially with the Cowboys. And uh, yeah that's what and you know you you mentioned calls with the Cowboys. What what's this process been like with Dallas? Have you had a chance to talk to to Joe Philban or just what what has this process been like for you with Dallas? Did you did you have an inkling they might have an interest? Right? So yeah, I had a zoom with coach Philban and we went over some stuff, went some uh some passing stuff and run

run game stuff. As well, and uh we went over some things and uh, you know, I was thinking, uh you know, I was going to be a Dallas Cowboy today about a round one thirty and I got the call and uh yeah, I talk coach Stilban and they're fired up to get me down there. Some things I definitely got to work on before I get there, and uh, you know, and take just get down there in Dallas and uh work on some things to be a better

football player. So we kind of gave you that inkling, any kind of indication there as to where you were going to fall with the Cowboys. Honestly, no, Uh, it came out of nowhere. You know. It was a blessing of disguise, and uh, I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to be in first go. I'm just I'm just fired up. So it did come out of nowhere. But

like I said, I'm blessing ready to go. So offensive line is is kind of a legacy here in Dallas, especially I mean forever, but especially over the last decade with guys like Tyrn Smith Zach Martin. For any fans listening that I appreciate offensive line play. What what are your strengths. What do you like to do on the field? Absolutely, yeah, you know, growing growing up and that marshal and stuff. We watched a lot of Tyrn Smith um cutouts and tape,

and I love the way he played. Uh you know, I think I have a little inkling of him and me. Uh you know, I'm gonna have long arms. I get get my arms on, hands on people really quick and fast in the past, borrow, I have great feet, um, and on the run game, I'm just fast, musical, physical, nasty, uh you know. And that that's some trace that I

think I see myself along with Tyron Smith. And you know, I really crafted my game around him growing up and just watching a lot of films, like I said, and uh again, just fired up to get down there and show him what I have. So and judge. How is she weighing right now? Um? Last week I waited in about three fourteen. Okay, so that's that's a little bit heavier than what you played at there this season? Am

I correct about that? Yeah? My weight has actuated up and down in the past couple of years, two years, both different seasons. But I feel comfortable where with on that right now. But it is a little heavier than what I did play in twenty twenty. Absolutely, Josh, thanks so much for spendings and time with us. Congratulations. We look forward to watching you on the field soon. Yeah. Sorry, thank you so much. Go Cowboy. There he goes his

first Go Cowboys on the air. I like that, adding it in at the end of the phone call Josh Ball out of Marshall
